If you have Celiac you should avoid this place. I was looking forward to trying the Samosa’s here as I called in and was told they are prepared seperately. I had the samosa’s with chickpeas, the samosa’s themselves tasted greated however I had a reaction right after eating here. If you have celiac I would avoid eating here as there is some sort of cross contamination happening.

We asked a family friend for a few recommendations for restaurants near white rock and his response was Afghan Kitchen was his personal favorite. We tried it and our party of 7 absolutely loved the food. Highly recommend the lamb shank, and lamb/beed/chicken kabobs. You can tell the food is prepared and served with the kind of care and love only a family owned establishment can provide. We had 3 gluten free diners and the menu is extremely GF friendly - including a GF version of Mum’s secret cake that was off the charts. We will definitely be back!

I had SOME expectations when coming here for a date night with my husband. Extremely disappointing. We sat down near the bar, and quickly realized how suffocating the area was. Our waiter, who didn't introduce himself, turned it on just after we asked why the air was so dense. The waiter, who never introduced himself by the way, offered no timely service. We had longbreaks between drinks appetizers and main course. He was standing just near the bar so he could see We had empty glasses and plates, but there was lack of interest. Then came time to order the main course and I was asked which sauces I'd like with my fries. I chose truffle and it cost me extra without me knowing I was purchasing some additions. Appetizers, we got the fritters which was pretty good! But the gluten burger was just mediocre. When it came to the bill, the waiter pressurized us to stop eating and make the payment. I have seen this before in other restaurants but waiters are very careful when disrupting a meal to get a payment thru. I dont recommend this place simply because the owner doesn't seem to be around so the waiter seems to think he doesn't need to do his job. There was one female waiter as well(dont know her namw), but just to be clear she was the only good thing about this restaurant. She was kind, responsive, and showed some interest. If this place stays afloat it's due to the appetizers and the nice young lady who picked up the slack.

WOW! Hands down the best gluten-free crust I have EVER tried. It’s so chewy and doughy and not like the cardboard many gf eaters are used to. Their chef is from Italy and hand makes the gf dough himself. It’s the kind of dough that will have you double checking you ordered gluten free. Incredible. I tried the Soprasetta and the Chicken Pesto and both were delicious. Just the right amount of sauce and toppings, exactly how it’s supposed to be. Wonderful customer service as well. The owner is an absolute gem. I had a previous miscommunication trying to order over the phone and he did everything in his power to make it right. That kind of special treatment goes a long way and isn’t the kind of service you can get anywhere else. Unfortunately for my waist line, I will probably be ordering here once a week at least. Haha

I have been at this location many times, and has always been a positive experience. I just ordered the Chicken Santa Fe Salad, and I left a note mentioning my dietary restrictions as a Celiac. I really appreciate the staff member who took the time to write a hand written message letting me know that they got my note about being Celiac, and confirmed that the tortilla strips on the top were gluten free! It probably took little time, but made me feel a lot more confident enjoying my meal. And of course, the salad was a 10/10!!!

Had my first visit to Hawthorne’s Beer Market, and it certainly won’t be my last! This spot has an awesome local pub vibe, with a welcoming atmosphere and exceptionally friendly service. The staff truly go above and beyond to make you feel at home. As someone who eats gluten-free, I was blown away by their amazing GF pizza—perfectly crispy, flavorful, and loaded with quality toppings. Plus, they offer a great selection of gluten-free options, which is a huge win. Looking forward to coming back and enjoy the patio this summer! If you’re looking for a laid-back, welcoming pub with great food and drinks, Hawthorne’s is a must-visit.

The only gluten free burger is a veggie burger which tasted gross. I was misled by reviews saying there are multiple gluten free options. Please add gluten free burger meat to your menu or don't advertise gluten free burgers. A veggie burger is just not the same!

All Around Pizza used to be my go-to cheap pizza place. Excellent quality for the price, with the pizza always cooked fully. However, I ordered once on Uber Eats. My experience with them and their management team was embarrassing. Firstly, they didn't have a 2L of Diet Pepsi so they substituted 3 cans instead. The price is similar, yes, but you get so much less pop due to bulk buying. This alone is thievery. They also hadn't set their app correctly. I ordered large gluten free pizzas. They later informed me that gluten free is medium only, and they offered me 3 dips for my 3 GF pizzas. That's 3 dips in place of a $15 surcharge. Absolutely abysmal service and the team should be fined to the point of bankruptcy and have their business licenses suspended.

The entire meal, all my friend and I could say were expletives around every bite. We couldn't believe how incredible the food was. By far the best Mexican food I've ever had in Vancouver!!! Our server (possibly the owner?) was incredibly nice, warm, and inviting—and you could tell she was really proud of the place. Portions were great and the pricing was so reasonable! The Al Pastor tacos were incredible with amazing flavour! The Carnitas taco was also really good and would order again, but the Al Pastor totally stole the show. Amazing chicken enchiladas with beans and rice. Also tried Pupusas for the first time and they were also incredible!! Also I'm celiac and have to be strict gluten free, and had no concerns at this restaurant. Already planning when I can go back

Just Cakes Bakeshop is an absolute gem! Their red velvet cake is hands down the best I’ve ever had—perfectly moist, beautifully balanced, and the cream cheese frosting is to die for! It’s truly a slice of heaven. What makes it even better is that they offer gluten-free options, so everyone can indulge! Whether you're gluten-free or just looking for a decadent treat, Just Cakes Bakeshop is the place to go. Highly recommend!

We ordered a gluten free pizza for someone with celiac disease. Upon coming home, our gluten free pizza was made incorrectly, resulting in no dinner available for our celiac family member. When calling the store, they told us we could receive a free pizza of our choice on our next order, marked on file. We called again tonight, spoke to Reet, to claim our free pizza, in addition to ordering 2 additional pizzas, and were told the discount was not on file and therefore they could not honour it. Reet also offered us no substitution of a discount on our order, because there was nothing written in our file. We tried explaining that having nothing written in file, was simply not our fault. Reet then insinuated that we were lying about the discount because it was not on file. She also stated that we might have already used the discount, once again assuming dishonesty. We have been customers of this establishment for 10 years. We asked the Reet, what she could do instead of the free pizza, and she said we could have $5 off. $5 off of 3 large pizzas…needless to say we cancelled our order and decided to go to a more deserving establishment. Train your staff, and don’t blame your customer for staff mistakes. I suggest going to Canadian 2 for 1 if you are from the area, amazing kind staff and delicious pizza!

We had a lovely meal here. We have celiacs in the family. The chef kindly came and talked us through what precautions they take and suggested dishes. Really good Thai food.

Loved it. It’s ihop. They have gluten free pancakes. I love the shredded hashbrowns. They have free pancakes for kids with adult food purchase which seemed neat. Special Halloween pancakes. It’s always a good time and good dinner

The food was great and the recommendations from our server were fantastic. Thank you Erin for being so careful about my gluten allergy! And thank you so much to the kitchen for taking every precaution when preparing my meal. It is so stressful eating out because of the severity of my allergy, but Erin took the time to double check with the kitchen on multiple items to make sure her recommendations were safe for me. This is now my go-to restaurant when I am in town. Thank you!
