During our stay in Sayulita, we found ourselves returning to Santas Iguanas twice in one week, it’s that good! This cozy Italian spot delivers on both flavor and atmosphere, making it a standout choice for a delicious meal.
I couldn’t resist trying the Iguana Pasta, and it did not disappoint. The homemade pasta was cooked to perfection, and the sauce had an incredible depth of flavor that balanced richness with just the right amount of spice. My girlfriend had the gluten-free Bolognese pasta, and she loved every bite. It’s not always easy to find good gluten-free options, but SantasIguanas nailed it with their homemade pasta and hearty, slow-cooked sauce.
The drinks here are just as impressive as the food. Whether you’re in the mood for a refreshing cocktail or a well-paired glass of wine, the bar has something for everyone. The atmosphere is laid-back yet inviting, perfect for a casual dinner or a romantic night out.
A special shoutout to Sarah, our amazing waitress, who made our visit even better with her friendly service and great recommendations. If you’re in Sayulita and craving Italian food, Santa’s Iguanas is a must-visit!

If you’re a real pizza lover, I’d suggest giving this place a miss. We ordered two Diavola pizzas, one on a gluten-free base with vegan cheese and one regular.
The gluten-free base came at an additional 100 pesos, which is quite steep, but I was curious to try it. Unfortunately, what arrived was more like a 1mm-thin tostada with a small amount of melted vegan cheese, no tomato sauce, and just four slices of what seemed like very basic salami. It really didn’t resemble a pizza in any way and was sent back straight away. Thankfully, we weren’t charged for it, which I appreciated.
As for the regular pizza, it wasn’t much better. It looked like something from a very low-end all-inclusive buffet. The tomato sauce was unusually dark and definitely didn’t taste like San Marzano as advertised. The base was flat, undercooked, and lacked any real flavour or texture.
On the plus side, the service was excellent. The waiter was kind, attentive, and very apologetic. I really felt for him, as he did his best in a tough situation.
As an Italian who has lived abroad for over 20 years, I’ve had pizza in all kinds of settings and don’t consider myself particularly picky. But sadly, this just didn’t come close to what I’d consider pizza, especially at these prices. Piola used to be great years ago, but something seems to have changed. I won’t be returning.
Nestled among trees, this beautiful spot offers a relaxed vibe, fresh options, and a great atmosphere, making it a favorite for both meals and snacks.

Gorgeous restaurant and amazing food! Ate here on my birthday while visiting Playa del Carmen and was so magical and delicious! I have celiac (gluten allergy) and the team was incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable on allergies - Highly recommend the tuna steak - it was so delicious! And the restaurant is actually built around a cenote - super cool experience and some of the best food I ate in Mexico!
BEST TACOS EVER!!! I had the la gringo taco which was AMAZING!! I also had the cheese crust pastor good but not as amazing as the above. My husband had the ribeye tacos and he said these were the best he's ever had. My kids and in laws enjoyed theirs too. The reason I took 1 star away is because after my MIL said she could not eat gluten they gave her a flour shell. Because of this she was not feeling well last night. Other then that everything was great. For desert we had the churros which were good but not as delicious as the corn cake!!! That desert is probably one of the best I've ever had and I own a bakery!!

It's good but not so small for so much money. This little ceviche cost me $290. I went here and ordered takeout because of celiac but how sad that we with celiac have to eat in expensive places. ALSO, they told me it comes with toast but they only gave me tortilla chips... something stressful for celiacs because I asked about their toast, not their tortilla chips. HOWEVER, I appreciate everyone who helped me with celiac, they took all my questions with great patience. 5/5 star service, it's just that there was little food. Many thanks to the host and the kitchen <3

Gluten free options on the menu. I ate the Mushroom Risotto, and it was delicious. Vegetables topped the risotto, and they tasted great. Beware the pineapple sorbet, it has basil in it, and was not to my taste m

We had dinner here a few days ago and we really liked the customer service, the filet mignon, the octopus and the tiramisu. They also have several gluten-free options. We will eat here again if we are in Cancun again 😃

Excellent - such a beautiful garden and you can see all the beautiful fruit growing. Service was outstanding. Not too many gluten free options but still a handful to choose from! Would be great if they had gluten free bread to choose from. Was absolutely stunning and perfect for children, the food we had was amazing. Goat burrito and mocha French toast and granola bowl. 10/10!

We were excited about having an evening here - it was one of the few things on the short-list of "must do's" on our vacation. Jazz on the rocks is a wonderful concept, promises a great atmosphere and a premium food and service, however our experience was definitely "rocky" at best.
We scheduled a reservation for the outdoor seating, which does ask for an extra fee, I'm sure it is to reduce no-shows which is totally understandable.
The table we had at arrival had a fine view, however had an equal amount of sound from both bands, one inside and the other outside due to the fact that the door between was propped open. When I asked the server if it was okay to shut the door or if we could move, he initially told us no to both. I understood (they were busy) but was a little annoyed that there was an extra fee to reserve a table with maybe the worst atmosphere of the restaurant.
But then, our server redeemed the experience and moved us forward to a better table when another couple left!
Unfortunately, that's was maybe the highlight of of our experience. After 30 minutes our cold and overcooked truffle fries arrived, and then after finishing our appetizer our server asked if we wanted to order anything else. When we asked about our meals we had ordered he became flustered and said he would check on them. If I'm assuming the best, our server just never checked in on the kitchen and they lost our order, at worst our server never placed the order for us.
The server made some excuses about the busy evening for the restaurant (in a tourist town) and the gluten free preparation, but didn't really own the fact that it took 90 minutes from our order to receiving our food. We were given a small free glass of wine, and then were not comped for anything on our bill.
I shrugged, figured at least the view and jazz were good. Upon exiting at the same time as another group we heard them also complaining of the evening and said the server told them not to tip, and they were even comped an additional 15%. Hard to say our experience was a one-off this evening.
Needless to say, we were disappointed with the experience and the way it was handled, or not, by the staff.
Would I recommend? Hard to say, the atmosphere and music were as good as should be expected, but everything in between makes it hard for us to consider coming back.

You can't miss the pastas and pizza. They told us that they make the pasta and dough daily from scratch and the truth is it does taste different, they also have a GLUTEN FREE option.
Excellent option for dinner in San José and very good service from the staff, especially the manager, Braulio.
Fabulous food. Very friendly server (spoke fluent English) and service was super fast possibly during to the pouring rain scaring off some 9f the tourists. I had the rice bowl with steak, my son had a burrito, others had quesadillas and tacos as well as guacamole, salsa fresca & chips. All liked their food. They have a wonderful & varied selection of hot sauces they make fresh (loved the peanut chipotle). Many gluten free options. Parking is difficult to find but be patient, the food is worth it. Setting is an open air bar with straw thatched roof. They accept dollars or pesos.
Enjoy a lovely open-air patio with great street views, perfect for people-watching while savoring delicious dishes and vibrant atmosphere.

Hello to all my Celiac and Gluten free friends, we stopped at Riviera grill yesterday and I told the server about my allergy. Try to specify you can't have breaded items or anything that has flour. I had the grilled shrimp with the creamy rice. I honestly didn't finish the rice because of the dairy in it which I didn't think of when I was ordering . Daniel was our server and he was super nice and the atmosphere was amazing :)

Great food and great atmosphere at Panza! We were looking for a place that does gluten free pizza and this place had many GF options! Kevin our waiter was so nice and helpful throughout! Great service would recommend
The best food we had in Mexico City! I’m still dreaming of the corn tamales. The dishes are very simple and small. So we were able to order a variety of dishes. The service was great and were knowledgeable and accommodating towards my gluten allergy. Everything on the menu was gluten free. Can’t wait to come back.

My husband and I are big Margaritaville fans. Not only is this Margaritaville right in the port, but they're actually affordable. They sell slices of watermelon alcohol infused Jell-O in real watermelon rinds for just $3 USD a slice. It's an incredible deal.
There are tons of photo opportunities here and the restaurant is clean. Margaritaville also tends to be one of the few places with a marked menu for gluten-free options.
