A staple every time I go to Calgary. As a celiac I feel so safe here, staff always take time to make sure I understand what I can/cannot eat. I would say about 80 percent of the menu can be made gluten free including the fried chicken. It’s great to be able to share with friends and not sacrifice taste. Could not recommend more.
This charming spot offers a vibrant atmosphere with unique decor, accommodating a variety of diets and serving exceptional, flavorful dishes.

Went to this place for brunch for the first time and had 3 amazing things to note. 1) the coconut chai was to die for and I would return just for that drink alone. 2) the vegan eggs Benedict on falafel was so perfectly savoury and delicious, as someone eating vegan and gluten free, I haven’t had something that covers my dietary restrictions taste so good in a long time. 3) the portion sizes!!! The quesadilla my family had was enormous, the side salads were huge! Amazing to have leftovers for later and even though we ate a lot, we didn’t feel gross after (which we often do with other places) because the ingredients were so clean. The staff were so kind and the restaurant gives cute earthy vibes. Hands down will be going back! (Wish we got photos to share!)
With cozy vibes and hearty portions, this spot is a community fave for tasty meals that leave you feeling satisfied.

I had the BEST brunch today at Red's Diner. They have plenty of options on the menu including vegetarian and gluten-free ones. I ordered the Montreal Smoked Meat Hash and it was scrumptious. I've never really liked hollandaise sauce but Red's does it so well that I ate all of it. The portion sizes are on par with the price. I left the restaurant pretty full and satisfied.
The atmosphere is quite cozy and the waitresses were super friendly. I see why Red's Diner is so beloved in the community now!
A cozy brunch spot with generous portions and a welcoming vibe, perfect for a relaxed meal even on busier days.

I highly recommend this succulent little brunch spot! Lena, our server was a doll! And looked after us superbly!. I am celiac myself, it’s always nice to find a spot that can cater to someone with severe allergies/sensitivities to food.
Expect a cozy vibe with solid value, diverse menu options, and a classic breakfast experience that keeps folks coming back for more.

Had the gluten free waffle and bacon and both were great. The waffle was an especially nice treat and was crunchy and soft and flavourful. I forgot to ask if the buckwheat pancakes were gluten-free but they looked good, maybe I'll try them next time.
A charming brunch spot with a unique menu, cozy vibes, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes everyone feel special.

One of my favourite Calgary spots yet. Exceptional staff. Great atmosphere- not too loud at all. I dine out 2-3x/ week and after 4 months into this city- this is a top spot. I’m celiac- tons of options and very helpful staff.
Spacious and stylish, this spot boasts unique swings and a cozy vibe, but service and cleanliness could use a serious upgrade.

⭐️⭐️✨ (2.5 Stars – If I Could)
The food here is actually quite good—flavourful, well-prepared, and the portions are decent. They also offer a fair selection of gluten-free options, which is important to me as someone with celiac. That said, the prices are a bit on the higher side for what you get.
This was my second visit. The first time, I had a great experience, which is why I decided to bring my friend here for her birthday. Unfortunately, I regret that decision. It was such a letdown because I was genuinely excited to celebrate her special day here. But the lack of service and cleanliness made the experience disappointing.
I booked a table well in advance and even selected the birthday option during the reservation. However, it seemed like they didn’t care or even acknowledge it. To make matters worse, we were seated in the worst spot—right next to the staff entrance. You’d think being so close to where the staff frequently pass through would mean better service, but no. We were completely neglected.
Other establishments usually go above and beyond to make special occasions memorable, but here, there was zero consideration. Honestly, why even put the option for occasions during booking if nothing changes?
Throughout the meal, no one checked on us—not even once. We wanted to order drinks, but after taking our food order, the server never returned to our table. No refills, no follow-up, nothing. She disappeared after dropping off our food and only reappeared when I had to flag her down for the bill.
The experience was further let down by the state of the bathrooms—unclean and poorly maintained, which is unacceptable for any dining establishment.
While the food is worth coming back for, the service and cleanliness need serious improvement. I hope the management takes these issues seriously.
Vibrant decor and a lively atmosphere set the stage for a memorable dining experience with delicious dishes and festive vibes.

Amazing food, great atmosphere, and fabulous service. We had a pre-set menu with a large group, which was perfect. Unbelievable turkey, brisket, and our gluten-free diners have never had better gravy (they lucked their plates!)We can’t wait to come back again with our team next month!

The best service in downtown Calgary by far, our server Mariem (Mariam?) was super helpful and super kind. She accommodated all our requests as my fiancé can only eat gluten free and his sister is vegetarian. She provided us with all the appropriate menu options and made sure that there was no cross contamination with the meals. She really exceeded our expectations and I've never met a server so accommodating to all our dietary restrictions.
This spot boasts a heated patio and a welcoming vibe, perfect for relaxing with friends and enjoying the great service.

What a great place to stop and have a meal.
They have a very nice patio that's heated.
We had the cheese fondue with sirloin steak for protein. The fondue came with a basket of bread and a plate of veggies. They also gave us potato chips as one we needed a gluten-free option instead of bread.
They are pooch friendly!
Weekend brunch offers a small but innovative selection, but quality and value seem to be slipping lately.

Went for the weekend brunch several times. Smaller selection but higher quality and more innovative. You can also order customized bennies for vegetarian or gluten free needs. Recommended. Downgraded from 5 star to 4 star - food no longer as good and price is high.
A chill spot with a cool dining vibe and amazing sauces, it's a go-to for tasty breakfasts and a fun Sunday brunch!

This location is arguably the best of the "Blocks". Excellent barbecue as always, huge whiskey selection, great cocktails. What's not to love?
Many gluten free options too! All the BBQ meats are GF and many of the sides are as well. The menu isn't marked, but the servers are informed or will check with the kitchen.
Not safe for anyone with allergies, especially celiac where all grains can cause an immune response in advanced cases.
I asked the guy working there if the GF bun had rice in it and he was fully confident it didn’t. I shouldn’t have trusted him.
We will never be going back here. Horrible business. Why not just be honest? I would have happily had the lettuce wrap to save myself all of the pain and internal break down of my system.

OMG! So good. I have walked past this place hundreds of times and finally had breakfast there on Easter Sunday. Everything was fantastic: the server brought us coffee outside while we waited, wow. Inside it's such an authentic old diner with seating at the bar and a few booths. So cool. The chefs cook the food right in front of your eyes, it was fascinating to watch them work so hard. And the food itself is sublime! What an experience. One thing to note: due to them having 1 smallish grill I can't imagine they can cater to vegans or gluten intolerant people.
Expect massive breakfast sandwiches with fresh flavors, a tasty sauce, and a bonus cookie that’ll keep you coming back for more!

I got The Quickie with a gluten free bun + add tomato. Was around 13$. This sandwich was HUGE.. the eggs were cooked well and fluffy could have used a little salt and maybe some pepper, the bun needed to be toasted more, but was delicious. The sauce was good and the cheese was perfectly melty. Would try some others in the future! Also came with a free chocolate chip cookie (not GF, but I gave it to my coworker)
Cute little cafe with friendly staff and lots of options!! Unfortunately a lot of the breakfast options weren't gluten free, but I was still able to get the sweet quinoa bowl and it was delicious! I've been following the creator on YouTube since I became vegan so I was really excited to try this place (:

Went to this place with a friend specifically for gluten free drinks and food they advertised. After pointing to every gf tagged item on the menu and told "no sorry that can't be made gluten free" we paid our bill and left.

Food was very good but the service was horrible. Did not even come close to warranting the automatic 20% tip that was added to our bill. We felt completely ignored by our waiter… it was also frustrating because when I went inside to use the washroom and there was not as a single person dining inside- I’m not sure why the service was so terrible to be honest. Also extremely disappointed by the drinks- they were sooo watered down. Even though they were discounted they literally were just juice in a cup entirely filled with ice. Not one person in our group was even a tiny bit tipsy after like 4 or 5 drinks each. Also our friend specifically requested gluten free buns but was brought regular buns and told that he could take the burgers apart if he wanted to… and then was still charged for the burgers they got wrong. For a real allergy this is something they should take extremely seriously and it’s crazy to me that they didn’t. Would not recommend!!!!!!!!! There are restaurants to either side that are way better.
Great little breakfast spot In a diner/ collective market. Very cute and perfect for dairy and gluten free ppl like myself. The name brought me in. I love a good pun
