I have eaten at blackies a few times, each time a dream for me, someone with celiac disease and a food lover. But this review isn't about those times. Buckle up. I host birthday parties for my kids. Not at play centers or whatever because no, why would I, thats too easy and I like hosting. But everything is always gf because I have to exist in my own home. I had made arrangements to have gf pizzas from another place close to me and their business hours changed making it impossible to accommodate hungry toddlers and their parents for the party time. Enter panic mode. I call blackies and leave what im sure is nothing short of a desperate dumpster fire voicemail and then pray to any deity who would answer. Plot twist there is in fact a saint of gastrointestinal distress. Blackies calls the next day says they can accommodate my pizza dilemma and boom I pick up 6 insanely good pizzas and my guests devour them and do the typical, "I cAnT bElIeVe ItS gLuTeN fReE" schpeal. I cannot thank the staff and management enough for saving my gluten free buns and rest assured I will probably order my party food again from you in the future but with way more notice 😅

Everything I’ve tried so far is delicious. The shop is tiny but has a great variety of items. I picked up an apple cider donut, apple fritter bread, focaccia bread, cheesecake bites, a calzone and more. Parking is tight but otherwise it’s been a great experience.

Massimo is always amazing! The food is delicious, incredible authentic Italian, with a full gluten free menu! The staff is attentive and so friendly, especially the Manager Anna, who always greets us warmly and welcomes us back. We happily travel over an hour to come here for date night and special occasions and it’s always worth it! Highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing food, very diverse menu options. I'm vegan but my husband is not. They had the regular menu as well as a Vegan menu and Gluten free menu! We got upgraded margs (which were amazing) vegan nachos, vegan Cali burrito with smoked tofu, and barbacoa burrito. Everything was amazing, if we ever busy Newport again, we'll be sure to be back!

During my recent four-day stay at the Residence Inn while attending Flight Sim Expo 2025, I was so happy to discover that 110 Grill was conveniently attached right to the hotel. It felt like such a treat to have a quality dining spot just steps from my room, especially after long days exploring the expo. The restaurant has a warm and modern atmosphere, with a stylish interior featuring sleek wood finishes, cozy lighting, and an inviting open kitchen concept that lets you watch the chefs in action. It is spacious yet comfortable, making it perfect for both solo dining at the bar and gathering with friends at a table. One of the biggest highlights about 110 Grill is their dedication to accommodating dietary needs. They are known for having a completely gluten-free menu, right down to a separate fryer to avoid cross-contamination. As someone who appreciates when restaurants go the extra mile for their guests, I thought that was fantastic. I came in around noon on Sunday, and the place was surprisingly quiet, offering a peaceful escape from the busy weekend crowds. The bartender was absolutely wonderful. Although she seemed to be the only person working the floor at the time, she managed everything with such grace and friendliness. She was attentive and so kind, and she mixed some amazing drinks. I enjoyed a couple of their signature 110 Margaritas, and they were both fantastic, perfectly balanced with fresh citrus flavors and just the right amount of tequila kick. For my meal, I ordered the Apricot Shrimp Risotto along with a side Caesar salad, and it completely blew me away. The risotto was creamy and rich without being heavy or mushy, and I was delighted that there were no diced onions hiding in it, since I usually find they overpower the dish. The shrimp were large and tender, and the hint of sweetness from the apricot created a beautiful harmony of flavors. It was one of those meals that stays with you long after you have left town because it was genuinely that delicious. Looking through the menu, I noticed that 110 Grill offers a great variety of dishes ranging from hearty steaks and burgers to creative seafood options and vibrant vegetarian plates. Their menu often features seasonal specials and locally inspired flavors, keeping things fresh and exciting. They also have an impressive cocktail list and a nice selection of wines and local craft beers, which makes it a great spot for both dinner and drinks. Service, even during quiet times, felt warm and personal, and I appreciated how attentive the staff were to details, especially when it comes to food allergies or dietary preferences. If you find yourself staying at the Residence Inn or anywhere nearby, or you simply want a delicious meal in a modern, comfortable setting, I highly recommend checking out 110 Grill. It was the perfect place to relax, indulge in a fantastic meal, and treat myself during my trip to Flight Sim Expo. I am already looking forward to coming back the next time I am in town.

Wow! The staff at this bakery is incredibly friendly and polite. The store itself is spotless and well-maintained. I tried the Cupcake of the Day, which was a Pineapple Dolewhip flavor, and it was absolutely delicious. It tasted like summer in a cupcake! They have a wide variety of flavors to choose from, including gluten-free options. I will definitely be returning to try more of their cupcakes.

I’ll start with our server at our most recent visit… Jenn was nothing short of fabulous! She’s friendly and attentive and carefully helped me navigate a good allergy. Overall, she left us feeling comfortable and well served. The food was fabulous too. Especially the gluten free options. My family ended up liking my food more than there’s which is the usual case with gf options. Try the crunchy salad! I had it with grilled chicken which was juicy and well marinated. There’s a good selection of drinks and desserts too. Try the gf carrot cake! Hard to find and it’s so good. Overall, the prices are inline with the food quality. The establishment was clean and spacious. We found it family friendly and also appropriate for couples. Retirees might like this place because of the relaxed feel. It was also decidedly LGBTQ friendly. This particular location is one of the last in the area and worth the drive! We’ll be back.

I wish I had known that their gluten free options were not the same as their on the menu options. I had heard the restaurant had a separate frier for gluten free orders and was so excited to try a new seafood spot, however the fried cod reuben I received was a cold batterless cod salad. The tarter sauce was more like a thin mayonnaise which soaked through the bread making it impossible to take out of the container. Beautiful establishment and friendly staff, but misleading info online led to an overall unpleasant experience.

My friend, who is also Gluten Free like me, showed me this place yesterday! They have plenty of gf options, we decided to try out the chicken karaage and treated ourselves to two orders of the dumplings. I haven’t been able to find a place with gf dumplings and these were just like the real thing! Their service and atmosphere were amazing, and the owner was so nice to stop by and talk to us. Will absolutely stop by again soon!!!

Omg I loved this restaurant so much! They are so accommodating because my mom and I couldn’t have gluten, rice, beans, or corn so they let us know what everything we thought about ordering had before we ordered it. The oysters are the BEST, and I had the king crab which was so good and so filling. My mom ordered the blackened yellowfin tuna which was also so good. Delicious food and great service 10/10. Many servers came over to check on us to see if everything was okay. There are a few places to sit: under the tent, sun room, bar, upstairs. Nice view from each seat but mostly the sun room. Definitely will be coming back when I’m in Rhode Island again.

I love this place…. they were one of the first restaurants to get on-board with having gluten-free options several years ago. Prices are a little high, but all prices are a little high. I love all the artwork they have displayed everywhere. I definitely recommend this place. ❤️

Nearly all items on the extensive menu can be made gluten free. I had fish and chips! Which was excellent. The fish was so fresh and tender, the chips were chip/French fries. I also got a little loaf of gluten free bread! Also amazing with the cinnamon maple butter. And if you are so fortunate enough to have the server Julianne, your whole experience will be made better. You will leave feeling happier and know she truly cared about your food and dining experience. Her knowledge about gluten free food, caring attitude and willingness to go above and beyond should well be noted. I love, love love everything about this restaurant and can't wait to go back, and hope that Julianne will be working. A++++

Restaurant was clean and well lit. Staff was friendly and very accommodating to dietary needs. Large selection of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free items. Food was delicious with a wide flavor profile and range of heat. Prices were not prohibitive. Parking can be a little challenging if you are not from the area.

Went last night June 10 2025, Services was outstanding! There were several servers keeping bread and water full, clearing plates, bringing food, answering questions all very pleasant and prompt !! The minute we sat were served bread and water . When I asked for a gluten free menue was then offered a gluten free bread basket! When my husbands desert came I asked for an extra fork and the server remembered I was gluten free and reminded me the dessert had gluten! ( I just stole the fruit off the cheese cake!) Food and atmosphere were good but it was the service that was outstanding. From the all the staff !!

I went for the special Irish breakfast on a weekday shortly before St. Patrick’s Day. The corned beef dinner knocked my socks off with how smooth it was! Just really commendable that a special could be so perfect. And for just $25! Sat at the chef’s counter and saw the care and cooperation with which dishes were being prepared. Server was friendly, charming, and knowledgeable about gluten restrictions. Service did seem a tad disorganized. I noticed plates sit on the counter for maybe 3-5 minutes before they went to tables.

They have a gluten friendly menu, but as a highly sensitive celiac, I’ve never had an issue. They even can make gluten free pancakes and sometimes will offer gluten free muffins. The only place we go for breakfast.

I was so over joyed to eat fish and chips out of a celiac safe deep fryer!! It tasted amazing and it was obvious they keep the oil very clean! I work in a kitchen and I know first hand how nasty deep fryers can get!! We went with friends that recently moved to Rhode Island and now we made a promise to go back to Celestial Cafe every time we visit! The chef even came out to check on us! We all loved our experience!

The best food!!! Never had a bad meal here and they've been consistent quality since they first opened a long time ago. If I still lived here, I'd make it a goal to try every menu item once. I wish I knew how to make such tasty wheat gluten, they have multiple textures - all delicious. They also have the best fry tofu appetizer with that lightly fluffy crisp breading, perfect size for sharing. I always look forward to eating here again!! One of the oldest restaurants in Rhode Island, and New England, is located across from an autobody shop, diagonal from a cemetery, and sitting on a rural road that feels like it's from the 70s. Please do not judge a book by its cover, or a restaurant by its outside. I've yet to fully discover all that the Carriage Inn fully is, but here is what I've found: An expansive menu. There are cocktails, wine, beer, and 11 rotating drafts. The end has all the typical American fixings, with gluten-free options such as rolls and pasta to substitute. An amazing presentation of food. One time, I bought a burger to-go. When I forgot to ask for gluten-free rolls. What was picked up was a toasted burger bun that should have been in a FOOD COMMERCIAL. Normally, I don't write in all caps, but this bun was...George Clooney in glutinous form. Props to the chef! A nice atmosphere. Some of the conversation I impolite overheard at my.last visit included an elementary schooler celebrating their summer, a family discussing the merits of a three legged picnic table, and some guy who goes to bachelor parties. The seating arrangements are spacious, and the interior has a blend of modern and traditional decor. A lot of potential. Between the comedy events and the potential fundraiser opportunities that the Carriage Inn provides, there is a lot to do here. As Arnold once said, "I'll be back!" P.S. I recommend the Monday evening special for 2!

I ordered a bacon egg & cheese breakfast sandwich and it was delicious! It was so busy but the service was quick. Alan & Lauren were so kind and helpful. They have gluten free bread & wraps and were very conscious of my allergy. Definitely recommend!

I’ve probably been here about 5 times so far, where I’ve had food twice, and came for the bar once. This is a vegan place, and is a must to visit for people with allergies/intolerances with a wide menu of gluten free items. I came with a person with gluten intolerance and I’m lactose intolerance and it was nice to not have to choose items super carefully. It’s very refreshing to have a place in the neighborhood that’s got a wonderful cafe vibe and transforms into a bar at night. They have wonderful speciality cafe drinks as well as alcoholic drinks at night. As a bonus, they support local artists in the area. They have a little section of the store with greenery items and one with candles, earrings, and other misc goods from artists.

I never write reviews but I can honestly say I could not hold back I can’t say enough about how delicious the breakfast we had and we had gone all three days while we were in Westerly at a nearby Inn. Food and service was excellent!!! Also I am dairy/gluten free and the pastry chef was amazing!!! Love, love this place and I highly recommend it!❤️❤️❤️

We have never had a bad experience with JB's on the water. Every meal is delicious and fresh. From the Chef to the managers and servers always a five star experience. Lobster Flatbread, Cranberry Whipped Feta Dip, Blackened Cod, Fish & Chips, Loaded Baked Cavatappi, Pecan Crusted Salmon, Fall Chicken, Fish Rueben, and JB's Style Calamari are all delicious. Save room for dessert and get the chocolate cake. You would never believe the cake is gluten free.
