Title: A Gluten-Free Haven with Room for Improvement
Rating: 3/5 stars
As someone with celiac disease, it's a rare treat to dine at a completely gluten-free restaurant like Papa Chops. I was thrilled to finally eat out with my family, especially on Mother's Day weekend. The food selection was great, and I ordered a variety of dishes, including fish and chips, burgers, and a pork sandwich.
The food itself was good, but the service fell short of expectations. When I went inside to ask for lemon and tartar sauce with my fish and chips, the cashier was surprisingly rude and snippy. She even checked my receipt to see if I had paid for the food, which made me feel uncomfortable, especially in front of my kids. There was also a miscommunication about ranch dressing, which added to the frustration.
Despite the good food, the service issues left a sour taste. With a bit more attention to customer service, Papa Chops could truly shine as a gluten-free destination. For now, I'd recommend it for the food, but with the caveat to be prepared for potential service inconsistencies.
Price: $80 (before tip)
Would I go back? Maybe. I'd like to give them another chance to show me better service.
A charming spot with a vibrant atmosphere, offering a refreshing menu that caters to various dietary needs, perfect for a satisfying meal out.

Absolutely incredible every time! My spouse and I make the long drive up from Cincinnati, Ohio every couple of months just to experience the joy of an allergy friendly breakfast! We are both cross-contamination sensitive celiac, as well as having some other odd (and common!) allergies between us, such as apples, eggs, and peanuts. Anna's House handles this all with no problem! We have never had a single reaction eating here. This time we had the pleasure of meeting Sharlet, who came out to our table to personally deliver our food, reassuring us that everything was safe, and even listed some of the ingredients for us! She was incredibly warm, kind, and happy to get to know us, as well as incredibly knowledgeable about the food she was serving us! Anna's house has separate preparation areas as well as the cutest little 'ALLERGY' picks that they place in your food so you KNOW it's safe! Thank you anna's house, but especially thank you to Shar, who made us feel so welcome and safe.
A delightful spot with a spacious vibe, unique seasonal specials, and a refreshing menu that keeps folks coming back for more.

This location means a lot to me because the staff always takes such great care of me when I come in, remembers my name, some of the servers remember my order by heart. Managers are very nice and personable. Their coffee is the best coffee of any restaurant I have been too. Great food and service on a consistent basis. I highly recommend trying it out especially if gluten free or vegan.

Anna's House is the best place for brunch! Fun, bright, 1950s retro vibe, unique (and classic) brunch dishes, and they have tons of options for various dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, ect.) I have relatives that have a severe intolerance to gluten, and they love going to Anna's House when they visit because they have a separate kitchen to cook orders for those with allergies. They have mentioned that it might take a little longer, but that hasn't been my experience even when they are quite busy.
With a vibrant atmosphere and a patio perfect for lunch, this gem offers huge portions, unique flavors, and a dedicated focus on quality.

I was traveling a did a to go order. I got 3 pieces of fried chicken, French fries, and a brownie. The French fries were amazing. The chicken was less than stellar. The chicken itself was good but the breading was inedible. It was hard and brown and flavorless. The brownie was okay. Happy to get gluten free food, not worth the 40 price tag for 3 pieces of chicken, French fries and a brownie.
Enjoy a spacious, welcoming vibe with impressive large portions and a menu full of diverse options catering to various dietary needs.

The food was cold, the waitress’s finger was touching our food and she rearranged some bacon on a plate with her fingers. I lost my appetite after seeing the poor hygiene of some of the waitresses. There was coughing without mouths covered. We also asked for a gluten free dish that when came, was not gluten free. Overall the food would’ve been enjoyable if it was served at the right temperature.
Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere with dishes that impress, all while sipping great coffee in a cozy, well-designed space that beckons you back.

Went here for the first time today and I am celiac. We had an excellent waitress named Serina. She was checking with us all the time. I got a long island top shelf, and it was 10/10. The chicken tenders and fries were to die for and the ranch dressing was the best ever. Definitely, will drive 45 minutes from Flint to eat here again.

Pleasantly surprised by this place, came for burgers with my family on a Saturday night around 5:30pm. There were lots of gluten free options and a good veggie burger. I appreciate that they offer a black bean burger instead of impossible/beyond beef, but there wasn’t much else for vegetarians, though maybe it’s too much to ask for a few more veg options at a primarily meaty place lol. Anyway, fries were good and my 3 year old loved it. We will be back!

This is a great spot with a lot of options. It’s hard to find gluten-free options in the UP, but they had gluten-free bread with vegan options. They made sure to ask what my dietary restrictions were so they could prepare the food separately. Highly recommend. There is a very fun book selection, too.

Breakfast Club offers Gluten Free items and I'm always craving good French Toast. I was able to order the Strawberries and Cream stuffed french toast Gluten Free and it was delicious. I was scraping my plate clean. My son had a quesadilla and loves it also. And he was thrilled that instead of a mint with the bill, they brought a chocolate covered strawberry for each of us. It's a cozy little place. You may end up having conversation with your table neighbor like we did. I will return it I'm out that way again. I did drive 20 minutes out of my way to go and it was well worth it!

We had a great experience this evening. The staff members were wonderful, the food was prepared quickly and it tasted great. The kids love the bottomless options (even available on the kids menu) and I appreciated the vegetarian and gluten free options. 10/10
NOTE: I gave 5/5 for each category but Google is glitching and didn't save those category ratings.

I went to Sednoa Taphouse for dinner and had the smoked salmon dip, shrimp stuffed with crab, and the chocolate cake. There are quite a few gluten free options! I thought the food was amazing. The smoked salmon dip had the right amount of smokey flavor. The stuffed shrimp was perfect. The cake was absoultely amazing.
The service I received was professional. The menu was explained to me, food was prompt, and the server was exceptionally pleasant.
The only downfall is the atmosphere, the music was too loud and as more people filed the voices in the room felt very loud, which didnt match the ambiance or decor of Sedona taphouse. I wouldn't go there with another person if I were trying to have an actual conversation because they would be hard to hear.

Just another corporate chain. We are gluten and dairy free and the only thing we could get was a flavorless steak. They rely on butter for all their flavor and don’t apparently use any seasoning. Service was good.
Obviously won’t be going back.

The food was amazing. I have a severe gluten allergy and was extremely impressed to have the option of a FULL gluten-free menu. I had the bruschetta as an appetizer and was also given a complementary small loaf of gluten free bread. For my meal I had gnocchi with chicken and pancetta and it was the best I ever had. For dessert I had chocolate truffles which were also super delicious. I will be coming back here for sure!
The staff is amazing, the bar is good. The food selection includes gluten free and is well rounded. However, the food can be hit or miss depending on who is working the kitchen. Tonight was a miss. Other nights are great!

Alright, i haven't had a true burger since i became gluten intolerant, but i was in the area, and inquired with The Burger Joint about their gluten free options.
Not only do they have decent gluten free buns, they have a dedicated fryer where nothing with gluten is fried in it. Fantastic!
I paid $20 including tip for my burger with addons and a side of fries, and it was worth EVERY PENNY. Thank you The Burger Joint, for a wonderful and delicious experience!

I just love this place! The atmosphere is sexy yet casual. Great for a girls night out or family dinner. Valet available- Open table or CALL 1st for reservations- otherwise you may be turned away. Great selections - my favorite is the appetizers. Want to be wowed!? Try the Brussel Sprouts, new Salmon dip, and Country Rigatoni (gluten free with extra sauce) they prepare their own gluten free bread that is excellent too. Shaved Brussel salad and Wedge is also my favorite. I am a wine club member, I find the wines to be juicy - try the Blueberry Açaí! DESSERT- Key Lime hands down with the buttery crust!

First visit here was several years ago on an overnight stay for a concert. Today I had to go back because that time was so good. Today I went and sat at the bar for brunch the staff (all 4 I encountered) were friendly and helpful answering questions and making suggestions that made my visit amazing. I went for this avocado toast gluten free with added egg and coffee, followed up with a citrus drink they mixed for me (not cocktail) that was the perfect refresher after the delicious meal. 10/10 recommend going here when in Grand Rapids, it is a super adorable yet smaller space so try to go outside the typical meal times or be patient and willing to wait. It’s worth it in my opinion.
With dedicated fryers and careful preparation, this cozy spot is a go-to for those craving safe and tasty burger options.

Worked with Tracy to cater my daughter’s bridal shower and it was fantastic. All the guests raved about the food. The bride is gluten free and I knew I could trust Anna’s House to deliver a safe meal for both our gluten free and non gluten free guests. She worked closely with me to make sure I ordered the right amount of food and delivered it fresh and hot.

A lot of gluten free options. Mac & cheese was pretty good but doesn’t reheat that great. Bummer though was by our reservation time they were out of brisket and spare ribs. You also can’t choose your own meats for the combo meals. In my experience, other bbq restaurants have you choose your meats. Pulled pork and sausage were delicious but the ribs I did end up getting were very burnt. Our waitress was quick, but seemed annoyed. Drinks were good. I’d give it another try, but try to go earlier to get the brisket

I came here a week ago and am disappointed to say that my experience was less-than-stellar and in many ways just bad. I came here because it had good ratings for gluten-free food (I have celiac.) They had a gluten-free menu from which I ordered a bowl of soup and made sure it was put in as a gluten allergy so it would be taken seriously. After waiting for almost 30 minutes for a single bowl of soup (I was ordering to-go!) they brought out a box with the bowl of soup in it right next to two biscuits, which I was then told by the manager were not gluten-free. He then told me that it hadn't been put in as a gluten allergy at all, calling into question the safety of the soup itself. After 30 minutes of wasted time, they comped the check and I left, more hungry and much less satisfied than when I entered.
