Had a delicious brunch here when staying in Wellington. I'm gluten free and items were clearly marked on the menu, there was plenty to choose from. Service was very friendly and food was quick. Good value for money in my opinion as the servings were generous.

Gluten free, onion garlic free, vegan, basically any variety of whole food plant based meal. No added nasty stuff. Feels great while and after eating. My favorite Welly place to eat!

Had an excellent gluten free fish and chips. GF batter and dedicated fryer produced a delectable, non-greasy batter-dipped fish and accompanying fries. Super helpful wait person too!

We had a fantastic brekkie here and highly recommend this wonderful spot. Great menu with several coeliac-friendly options. The staff are friendly, professional and attentive to detail. I had the hot smoked salmon eggs Benedict and loved the GF bread used as the base. I only like super-hard poached eggs and these guys cooked them perfectly. The coffee (Havana) is great and the room has a funky and relaxed vibe, with a great outlook over Lyall Bay beach and the airport. You can watch planes and ferries come and go while you relax! We got a GF lemon and blueberry cheesecake to take away for later - absolutely delicious. We will be back next time we’re in Wellington!

Never had Sri Lankan food before, but the flavours were delicious. Gluten free friendly. Informed and helpful staff. The tea sommelier was very knowledgeable. We went for Burger Wellington and would happily return for three-course menu.

Food here is made with love. Well thought out dishes that are layered with flavor. My only criticism is the gluten free bread from the supermarket. Not nice.

Lovely food, lovely staff, lovely atmosphere, lovely views, good quality food and great value for $. Lots of delicious Gluten Free options, their GF bread is made in-house and is delicious. Inside can get quite cosy and warm when it’s busy, sitting outside is lovely if you want to soak in the views on a clear day, there are also blankets provided to keep you warm on the cooler days. Overall great experience, super friendly staff and fab quality food. Recommend the Avo on GF bread, the Laksa, bacon and eggs on toast, and all the GF cakes haha.

Recently returned from a holiday in New Zealand and took a cable car to view the beautiful gardens and on the way back we saw this restaurant as we were so hungry and decided to try it.
I am so glad we did!!!
I ordered the scotch fillett and asked for it to be gluten free with a cappuccino to be lactose free.
The waiters/waitresses are all very lovely and ever so helpful.
When the meal came out I was flabbergasted. It looked absolutely amazing. It was decorated with the most colourful and beautiful edible flowers and when I cut into it, it was like butter! The most tender and delicious steak I have ever had and it was on a stack of vegetables with roast potatoes and mushrooms.
Compliments to the Chef!
It was absolutely delightful! And the price was only $28.00 AMAZING!!! THIS REVIEW IS THE LEAST I COULD DO.
Thank you so very much for making my trip more memorable.
If I ever come back to New Zealand I will make sure I come and eat at your wonderful restaurant. Thanks again

Just love the tease intro to the movie too "those are real Italian leather you know" yep I dislike feet on the back of my seat too! Lol
Nice selection of cabinet food, along with fine dining. Lovely choc top ice creams, coffee, Prosecco - mmm, jaffas, & gluten free options!
Other cabinet treats are yum & it really has brightened up Miramar.
Their Gatsby themed event a few years back was fabulous! 😍 I even had a hot & sozzled LOTR star approach me when I collected my friend 😂

I am a regular gluten free customer who sits eating their very late lunch with their cousin. I like this cafe. I fly in from Christchurch and I move in to the Aro St culture. Cafes, funky Op shop where you always buy something. The Aro St cafe has the best staff.
Get ready for a fantastic dining experience where everyone, even vegetarians, can enjoy a menu packed with tasty options!

My food was lovely and delicious. The Spanish waiter was very friendly and provided great service. However, our experience was concerning and I am giving a one star.
My sister is gluten free. She ordered the gnocchi which says gluten free on the dinner menu. We understand you cannot cater to coeliacs, but it very clearly stated gluten free and not 'on request' or anything. After fully consuming the meal, paying and reading the receipt, it said 'Main gnocchi- NOT GF' in capitals like that. We went back in and the staff member (girl with reddish hair and glasses) mentioned that they had run out of gluten free pasta and were only serving gluten pasta. This is very concerning as we were not told by any staff member.
She handled it very badly, no apology at all. She blamed us as we didn't tell them we needed it gluten free. However, we were comfortable and had peace of mind with what the menu so clearly stated. She also said "it's not like she's going to die" instead of at least apologising (please train the girl in customer service skills because that was pretty mean, insensitive and ignorant). We understand you don't want to reprint all the menus until the GF pasta is back, but you need to inform anyone who is ordering that meal, for safety.
Please please train your staff better, especially on menu knowledge. They need more attention to detail. I work in hospitality myself and something like this can be easily avoided. If you're changing ingredients, inform all your staff and teach them to tell all customers upon arrival. This is super important. I am surprised even the chefs didn't confirm with the staff. Overall, very concerning as my sister may get sick now. I have attached screenshots of what it says on the menu.

Went for lunch.
I had free range eggs on toast with spinach and gluten free toast, quite pricey for it. See the picture.
Salmon was not available when we were there.
Pasta with lamb ragu was tasty and fair price.
Well located in Cuba Street, busy at lunch time.
Cakes at fair cost.
Friendly staff.

Fantastic coffee. Best coffee I’ve had in a long time.
But it seems when you ask for the gluten free option, it means taking something away from the plate rather than actually having an option. So I had a lonely plate of eggs on toast with a little bit of salmon. I will say though that the salmon was delicious and the gluten free bread was top notch. But for the price, I expected a bit more to it.
We were sitting outside due to all tables undercover being taken so unfortunately much of our food got cold before it arrived at our table. Not the fault of the restaurant at all but perhaps thick-cut fries could be something to consider? They’ll retain their heat better.
A bustling spot with quality offerings and a welcoming vibe that keeps locals coming back for more.

Was a nice time, only issue is some Gluten-free items were stored under gluten containing goods, and some next to gluten containing goods with no devider, even baking paper between is a win. Make me a bit nervous to eat
The coffee was nice, not burnt

Cute little cafe! Only two cookies on offer for the gluten free selection, but as to be expected as it’s a bakery. Tried the brownie cookie which was a bit too sweet for me so couldn’t finish it but definitely was yummy! Great coffee & friendly staff. Nice vibe & little hideaway. Would love to see a low gluten muffin or loaf ❤️

Great range of options, including lots of gluten free. Lovely being able to be outside (in the right weather) and service is prompt and thoughtful (kids food delivered first). Good coffee. Open for a good range of times, but probably best to book at peak times.

Had the best brunch I've had in Wellington! I had the desayuno completo, (full breakfast). The chorizo and blood sausage were very high quality and delicious. I ordered gluten free toast, which is made on the premises, it's complex and completely divine! Lovely beans, salsa, fried eggs and bacon. Coffee is very good too. Lovely and helpful staff. One of the worst coffees I have ever had (and at $9 overpriced for the size as well) and the service/atmosphere wasn't great. Their gluten free selection is small and not stand out in taste or creativity so over all won't be back.
Friendly counter staff but unfortunately not very accomodating. Due to allergies, tried ordering from the sides menu to reduce wastage but wasn’t allowed and had to pay extra. Paid for more and received less. Most I’ve paid for gluten free eggs on toast.

Caribe Coffee - Caribbean Coffee Roasters Limited
54 Cleveland Street, Brooklyn, Wellington 6021, New Zealand
An excellent addition to Brooklyn village - and worth a wee detour if you're going out.
They grind their own beans on the premises and have retained a little of their Jamaican / Caribbean focus over the couple of years since they opened. The owners often work there are are awesome - some of the other staff are a little more variable.
Selection of Gluten-Free treats and savouries.
Toilets. No wi-fi.
A solid Italian restaurant oozing with style.
Nestled in Midland Park, Astoria greets you with a moody space filled with the smells of bread, olive oil, and matured cheeses. The waiters are warm and attentive. You will never feel rushed or forgotten and no ask feels out of place.
The menu has plenty of gluten free options, many of which can be adapted. For example the linguini pawns were served with gluten free penne. However, Astoria cannot guarantee dishes are safe for coeliacs. Unfortunately fresh bread is prepared in a shared cooking environment. The wait staff will ask you if you are coeliac as you place your order.
The food is a modern interpretation of classic Italian flavours. In particular, we would recommend the burrata and beef cheek ragu. The burrata was fresh, delicate, and soft, while the ragu has a strong umami flavour.
The drinks menu will appeal to a wide variety of taste buds, preferences, and ages. You will also find a range of Italian drinks and sprits like the Camperchi Chianti Riserva and Limoncello spritz.
Overall Astoria is a good restaurant. However the menu, although varied, lacks the flare to really wow. It is also a shame that the dishes aren't safe for coeliacs and the only pasta alternative is penne. A fundamental aspect of Italian cuisine is pasta variety which is flattered by only one option for all.

Portabello mushrooms on toast. Simple dish but executed so well! The bread was the best I've had in NZ. Fluffy with the right density on the inside and the best crust I've had outside of France. It maintained its crunch despite the mushrooms.
Coffee was good too.
Also catered for gluten free people.
