One of the few places with a dedicated gf pizza oven. The pizza is great. They'll also make a gf "focaccia" using the pizza crust which is also delicious. They also have gf pasta.

1,000/10 cannot recommend Chaia enough! My wife and I fell in love with Chaia thanks to their brussels sprouts quesadilla and salsa verde, which we would highly, highly recommend. There's also a little park next door that can be used for especially nice days weather-wise.
Because of our love for Chaia, my wife and I reached out to Chaia when we were looking for a venue to host a party for some family and friends coming to visit DC from out of town, and they put together an absolutely outstanding evening. Bettina (co-founder/co-CEO) was excellent throughout the planning process, making sure that the party was just as we wanted it. Even as our plans shifted a time or two, Bettina graciously worked with us to make sure that everything would be fine. The vegetarian and gluten-free dishes made accommodating various dietary restrictions incredibly easy, and as expected, the food and drinks were excellent. (Our guests raved to us about the food, especially the habenro pepita dip.) Leyla and Abigail, the staff who were on-site for the event, also went above and beyond to make the evening a great time. We are so thankful we had our celebration at Chaia, and we highly recommend it to anyone else looking for a venue for an intimate celebration!

Great food and good service. I had a gluten-free cheese steak, and it was fabulous. I could not taste the normal gluten-free flavors. It was really good bread.
Expect a vibrant atmosphere with fresh, handmade dishes and strong flavors that make it a must-visit in the area.

great ambience and service. lots of gluten free options. loved everything i ordered (meat platter) but wish i got lamb instead of the beef kofte. i felt like the flavor was good but didn’t exactly jump out at me– especially in the stews. but the standout for me was the rice pudding!!! one of my favorite desserts of all time.

It's good, very heavy, southern. The place is really about the fried chicken which is awesome. However, they recently raised prices to a ridiculous level. Minimum $20 cocktails, apps, and the desserts are all $18. The fried chicken is $36 and is the cheapest entree. I'm sorry, but $18 for a slice of pie is out of control. It's nice, but it's still a fried chicken place.
Love the gluten-free options, hate that our party of 4 had 2 apps, 3 cocktails, 4 entrees, and 1 dessert total, and it was nearly $500.
This cozy spot serves flavorful arepas and unique empanadas, perfect for a quick bite or casual lunch during your DC adventures.

Love having a taste of South America in dc! Sometimes the arepas are a bit tougher than usual, but the flavors are always delicious and I love that they have sauces you can buy to take home. And so much gluten free!!

First time eating Mexican food and we fell in love with it! The staff is super helpful and kind, their suggestions made our day and the entire menu is gluten free. If you are not used to alcohol though the frozen margarita is really strong, be careful.
This spot buzzes with energy and offers attentive service, making for a great dining experience with a focus on food safety.

Had a great time here! I have celiac disease which can be very stressful when traveling. This place was suggested to me as they have protocols to avoid cross contamination. After placing my order a manager came over and said my waiter had let her know that I have an allergy/sensitivity and that they take it ver seriously. She said they work hard to ensure there is no cross contamination and that my food would come out with a red flag to confirm it is gluten free. This made me feel very comfortable as I didn’t even ask to talk to anyone they just did it! I had gluten free rigatoni alla vodka which was good. I was so happy with the service that I came back today for breakfast and had some of the best home fries I’ve ever had! Highly recommend this place, food, staff, and atmosphere are all great.

If you are on a gluten free diet, this restaurant is a real treat. This is the ONLY restaurant I know of in the entire DC area that offers gluten free French toast!!! It is really yummy. It is gluten free cinnamon raison bread that they make into French toast. It is served with maple syrup that has few slices of bananas in it. It is always served warm. (Be sure to look for the bananas. If the French toast is served with sliced strawberries, that is the wheat based French toast.)
This restaurant also has gluten free bread so most of their sandwiches can be made gluten free upon request. And they can make their eggs benedict gluten free by using their gluten free toast.
It is a very pleasant experience dining here. I usually dine outside. They are located on a small street in Georgetown. Georgetown can be crowded but on this small street, it is never very busy. On a nice weather day, it is a pleasant experience to eat the gluten free French toast while enjoying the weather.
The service is always good too. I enthusiastically recommend this restaurant.

The must visit bagel/coffee place in Georgetown!
From Food, service, atmosphere, this place deserves 5 stars.
They have many breakfast and lunch bagel sandwiches even gluten free options.
I tried the mountain view on a maple salt & pepper bagel it was delicious!
The bagel was so chewy, eggs were fluffy and lakes were crispy and salty & sweet bagel just made your morning happy!
(Original serve in plain bagel so ask for maple salt& pepper bagel)
If you are chocolate lover, try the chocolate babka muffin. Freshly baked and it has layers unlike regular muffin with chocolate swirls.
I also tried the signature maple french Toast latte and it is not too sweet and not too hot just perfect combination of coffee with touch of maple taste. you should definitely try!
Special shout out to Michael who is the best!!! He was so kind, friendly and helpful. He definitely made my morning even brighter:)
Such a cute pink house you can’t miss it!

Overall, it's okay. The premise is that you realize that this is a bar and not a pure restaurant. Evaluate the food with 4 stars based on bar standards and 3 stars with restaurant standards.
Business was very good. There were still many empty seats when I took my seat at 16:55. By 6 o'clock, it was full and people started queuing up. The environment is very good, but there are two problems. First, the music is too loud, which somewhat affects the dining experience; second, there are a lot of fine dust floating in the air, which is very conspicuous in the sun.
Taking advantage of happy hours, I ordered a dirty martini. Between vodka and gin, I chose the gin, which was average and not very tasty. Gambas al Ajillo garlic shrimp is not delicious, not very fresh, has a fishy smell of quick-frozen shrimp, is not processed very well, and is far inferior to Jaleo's garlic shrimp. Roasted pork belly is crispy and charred in the mouth and delicious, and the aroma of fat is fully brought out, but it feels too greasy as you eat it, and the layer of aji amarillo sauce underneath can't relieve the greasiness. Flank steak is also delicious, but sometimes the burnt parts are a bit bitter. Eggplant caponata is very cool and soothing, and goes well with greasy pork belly. Jamon Serrano ham is very delicious, delicious and refreshing. Bread is free and tastes average. It's okay to dip it in olive oil. The grilled octopus still tastes like Chinese gluten, which is not delicious.
Finally, I want to complain about the price: tapas in Spain focus on cost-effectiveness and affordability, but in the United States, the price is several times higher. Paying a lot of money to eat a small dish, to some extent, loses the original fun of tapas. Japanese restaurants in the United States, especially izakayas, also have similar problems.
All things considered, it's worth revisiting occasionally.

Everything is so flavorful here. My go to rice plate is usually, chicken roti, red cabbage, hummus, feta with tzatziki and red pepper sauce. My partner has Celiac disease and at some places we get eye rolls and sighs from people when we ask them to wash their hands a change their gloves. Not at Roti though. They are super accommodating and take all practical precautions to prevent cross contamination from wheat.

Very tasty Indian restaurant in the heart of D.C.
Came on a date and sat at the front-most table in the street-facing alcove, best table in the place imo with good views of both the restaurant and the street vibe. Drinks were very good. I recommend the Cardamom Gimlet if you're a fan of gin. Wife got the Pinky Up and also enjoyed it very much. I can't recommend the 'tellicherry hangar steak' enough, it was DELICIOUS and I'd order it a thousand times. Plenty of Gluten-free items on the menu as well; staff are aware of cross-contamination with wheat as well; I got my steak with the naan on a separate plate so my wife could try it. She had butter chicken and it was very on point to the traditional recipe, if maybe a bit sweeter. Overall a solid 'would definitely go again'.

The chicken roti bowl was excellent!! I did not get my gluten free pita as they put a regular one in my 2nd day's order so that was frustrating but the food was great and my pick up order was fresh. The gluten free pita I did get on the 1st order was great!

My newest fast-casual Mexican obsession! I first discovered District Taco a few months ago while scrolling around on Uber Eats and craving a quick but convenient bite of Mexican food. I stumbled upon District Taco and haven't looked back since, both ordering take-out and visiting in-person a pretty embarrassing number of times over the course of the last couple of months. I see them as basically a higher-quality, local version of Chipotle; it's definitely a touch pricier, but they have the quality of service and food to more than make up for the difference. I usually opt for the ensalada with either itza (made with Beyond meat) or grilled fish -- the fish is a super refreshing pescatarian addition to the menu beyond most other fast-casual Mexican spots. With the impeccable spice blend, lovely charred crust, and super tender interior, the fish is absolutely worthy of being a go-to protein, despite the added cost. They do also include guac as a protein choice, which, although I love guac, it's not a protein and should not be categorized as such. I usually get basically all of the non-dairy toppings possible (note: the potatoes are not gluten-free) and replace their dressing with a few dollops of their flavor-packed and absolutely outstanding salsa. Ah...I'm getting hungry just thinking about it -- the ensalada hits the spot every time, and I really appreciate the degree of customization and wide breadth of toppings you can add compared to other fast-casual Mexican spots.
The service is also efficient and friendly enough, providing an all-around delightful, quick dining experience. I will note, though, if you're planning to get take-out, I would recommend quickly sense-checking your order before heading out. I've occasionally been given the wrong order, which is completely understandable considering how busy this spot can get, but that does have the potential to ruin dinner plans if you're not staying near the restaurant, especially if you have dietary restrictions.
Very good quality fish with decent prices. Lunch specials are great and varied as well. Cool atmosphere. They have gluten free soy sauce, but I wouldn’t call this place “gluten free-friendly.” I got the chirachi lunch with salad (no dressing) and I didn’t detect any soy sauce in it. The chirachi bowl (below) isn’t marinaded but is very tasty!
The server was very knowledgeable about what foods were gluten free or could be modified to be gluten free. They even have a gluten free fryer so I could eat fries!! Food was delicious, service was great and I felt very safe throughout the meal.
