Great spot for wood fired pizza. Great that they have a gluten free crust option. The pizza ovens are in the middle so you can watch them going in and out. Pretty neat!

We had a wonderful experience at Shakedown Barbecue and Stowe Cider. We arrived at 7 PM on a Saturday night and we’re quickly seated. The wait staff and chef were highly knowledgeable about gluten-free options and were very accommodating regarding our family's allergies. After dinner, the owner, Mark, gave us a brief tour of the cider production. The food and cider were delicious; we can't wait to return. PS. The nachos were the kind that is put together and then baked in the oven & the cheesy gooeyness that makes them the best! On top of all of this, Tim Reynolds was playing on the stage in the next room over!
This cozy spot in downtown Stowe boasts an amazing churro bun, fantastic seasonal drinks, and a warm, welcoming vibe perfect for relaxing.

AMAZING food! I am gluten and dairy free and they were able to accommodate their breakfast sandwiches and lattes to my needs. The atmosphere is very homey and warm. The staff were so kind and very helpful/patient when I needed to customize my sandwiches. I definitely recommend if you’re in the area!

Superior customer service; quaint space and the best breakfast food in Stowe. Several gluten free options-I had a crustless quiche that was the best I have had in a bakery and cafe. You will love this!

Our first visit to Vermont in a long whole for my wife and I and the first place we visited for dinner was The Whip, and we could not have been more pleased and satisfied with our experience. Excellent service, excellent food. Many Gluten Free and Dairy Free choices, very accommodating and the food is great. My wife who does not share the same dietary restrictions absolutely loved dining here. I highly recommend.

I wanted to eat everything on the menu, so deciding what to get took a while. The atmosphere was chill, interior was modern and homey. Food was amazing. Blueberry pie with gluten free crepe was blissful. Deja Vu was mouthwatering. Kids loved their crepes as well. Something for everyone. Place was empty at 9:45am on a Sunday, picked up a little by 10:30, but still plenty of tables.
Cozy spot perfect for winding down after a mountain adventure, offering a fantastic drinks selection and a warm, inviting vibe.

Overall great experience! We were seated quickly on a Saturday night, fast and friendly service and all our food was absolutely delicious! There was even lots of gluten free options and a sign that said no msg used in any of their dishes. Would highly recommend!

Gluten free eggs benedict was a pleasant surprise but somehow only got 1 poached egg instead of 2, and probably paid more for it (GF bread not marked on the menu).
UPDATE: When alerted to the issue, they were very responsive and refunded me for the missing egg. Recommend checking them out!

We sat by the bar and were served by Brian. Drinks were made to perfection, the brussel sprouts and wings were incredible.
Brian went above and beyond to accommodate for my gluten free wife. Overall exceptional experience, will be coming back next time we’re near Spruce Peak
A lively spot with a unique menu, perfect for families, though it can get pretty noisy during busy hours.

Pretty nice menu with interesting things. Server was lovely and was really helpful about gluten allergy. Food was good. Pretty busy with a lot of tables of kids when we visited, so definitely loud but overall enjoyable.
I'll start by saying the food was amazing! Small portions. The hand rolls were itty bitty. No labels for allergens, not very accommodating for gluten-friendly/ dairy-free. The (unposted price) $25 martinis were much smaller than any typical martini I've ever ordered, which I do often. The glassware was odd and different, as if to throw us off that we weren't seemingly getting 3/4 of a full drink. Also, it was a birthday event...I asked if they do anything fun for a birthday, while he was in the bathroom, and the bartender nodded and then brought out a plate with happy birthday written in chocolate, a small scoop of ice cream and a small piece of chocolate cake or similar. Great, right...!...Except the nearly $20 that we were CHARGED FOR! Ridiculous overpriced. Note for the restaurant: when someone asks if you do something for a bday, at least tell them it's an option to PAY FOR. Didn't even receive an itemized receipt. Very deceiving. Will not be returning to this spot.
Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere with fantastic decor, exceptional drinks, and a dog-friendly patio perfect for a casual hangout.

Burger was awesome! Gluten-free bun was delicious and did not fall apart like they usually do. I scarfed it down before I could even get a photo.
Vibes were excellent and loved the decor.
A fresh, quality Thai spot in Stowe that's accommodating to dietary needs, with rave reviews for their Masamman Curry and Drunken Noodles.

We had their Masamman Curry and Drunken Noodles. My girlfriend who wasn't a big fan of thai food until that point definitely came out being open to try more of it. Excellent food. Not to mention we asked our food to be vegan and Gluten free, and our requests were honoured very well. Thank you, would love to visit again.
Expect an unexpected Oktoberfest vibe, complete with live music and disc golf, while the second visit offers a glimpse of the grill master at work.

While staying at the Von Trapp Family Lodge, we ate here twice and were pleasantly surprised. Being a chef, I'm usually more often disappointed than not when eating out. For lunch we tried the Von Trapp burger, mini salads and pretzels. All decent. For dinner we had brats and the salmon. My mom, who has eaten plenty of brats in her day (having been stationed in Germany twice), said it was the best bratwurst she has ever had. As we were walking out, we noticed the grill master was outside of the kitchen where customers could see the brats and burgers being cooked. My salmon was cooked perfectly (as was my burger for lunch). I am gluten free so asked if I could have it over the sauerkraut mashed potatoes rather than the farro. They also brought me freshly cooked vegetables because they were usually mixed in with the farro. All the food was fantastic, as was the service, and the white wine on tap for $10/glass wasn't too bad either! No picts of diner, but I do have lunch picts.

Easily the best restaurant we have ever been to. This culinarily experience is pure magic. The road to get to the restaurant, walking in the front door, the common area where you can enjoy a drink and games around the fire until your table is ready…..then you sit to eat…..and it gets even better. The food is full of a flavors exploding and combing in your mouth. The staff are all so amazing, they truly make you feel at home. The atmosphere is unmatched, there is an upstairs and downstairs, and I can’t even pick a favorite! Upstairs is a whimsical experience and downstairs is a warm, roaring fire, tavern! We have tried both and I love them both! When we come to Stowe, this is the one place we always so back to! To the Edson Hill staff, you guys knock it out of the park, every single time! I have never had staff, actually take as much time answering our questions, giving us recommendations when we asked, and making us feel completely at home as you did last night. Also they were beyond accommodating with food allergies and have a separate fryer for gluten free. Edson Hill you are our favorite ❤️

Bagels were solid, but not the best I’ve ever had. I liked the cinnamon sugar bagels, brought me back to old school Panera before they sucked. They did have gluten free bagels and were careful with allergies for my friend.
Always a must visit everytime we stop in Stowe. They've always had some of the juiciest burgers, but they've only gotten better in the last year. Larger options, including turkey, salmon, and black bean burgers, as well as lettuce wraps and gluten free buns. All while staying true to that juicy deliciousness.

This lovely restaurant and shop were directly across the street from where we were staying. The mother and daughter team were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We absolutely loved the indoor fire circle.
I had a latte with oatmilk and it was delicious! They also offer gluten free bread, so that their sandwiches can be served gluten free. Great find and fantastically warm atmosphere.

I'm a breakfast guy. Favorite meal. Took the family here in July. Ate outside. Without a doubt the best breakfast I've ever had. I could have kept eating but I didn't want to look like everyone else in this country that doesn't know when to push away from the table.
I'm celiac and the waitress was very helpful on menu choices. Gluten free toast, etc. A lot of attention from the staff so the service was incredible. I soils miss it next time I'm in town.
I love grits but never had grit cake before. Highly recommended!
For a relaxed vibe and tasty bites, this chill spot is perfect for a low-key night out, though stick to cooked items for peace of mind.

Went on a quiet night for a chill dinner for 2. Got wings and 2 burgers. Food was exceptionally tasty, one burger had a significant amount of dirt on the lettuce. Service and atmosphere were very laid back for such a quiet night which is what we were looking for. I would go back but would avoid anything salad based or uncooked. They have a great gluten free options menu and I felt they do go the extra mile for dietary restrictions.
Tucked away with a cozy vibe, this spot offers a warm atmosphere by a crackling fire, perfect for productive mornings or a relaxed retreat.

Wonderful coffee shop. We stayed at a villa up the road and I would walk down every morning and get there when they opened at 7. I would work till about noon making sure to buy something every couple of hours (there were no signs saying it was required but I consider it good coffee shop manners). Sitting beside a snowy window with a crackling fire across the room and enjoying a delicious cinnamon bun and latte while knocking out some work was perfect and kept me stress free during my vacation. The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was perfect, and the food and drinks were great. They also had some gluten free baked goods that I was able to take back to my wife who has a gluten allergy. Very thankful I found this place.
