Loved the food. Great gluten free options. Recommend the calamari! The staff were great getting all the food out at the same time for 10 people. Highly recommend 👌
Chill vibes and a spacious dining area with a solid lineup of vegan and gluten-free options make this spot a must-visit!

Thank you for my heavenly gluten-free lamb pasanda and amazing onion bhajis. They were wonderful. I was so happy, and the staff were so helpful in telling me what was gluten-free. The other meals for the rest of the table were also beautiful. Will diffently go again and well recommend

I finally discovered the best wood fired pizzas like the ones I ate in Naples. I went on a girls trip to Napoli Italy in 2001 and enjoyed the best most exquisite pizza of my life. I also saw beautiful museums cathedrals and got chatted up by handsome Italian men. But on my travels I realised that good pizza was food of the gods ! And done well, this famous dish was a next level experience on the palate. Basilico are next level the real deal the real Mccoy!
These pizzas laugh in the face of Dominos, these pizzas give the middle finger to Pizza Hut and they give a hair flick as they check their manicure in front of Hell's pizza as they casually lean back in their box knowing they really are THAT good!
The Basilico team are Italian and not here to make pizzas that aren't anything less than perfection.
I'm so glad we found them a short drive away from our street.
Fellow people of new zealand and Papamoa, do yourself a favour and go buy Basilico pizzas ( my fave is the prosciutto with rocket or Margerita) and go enjoy the party in your mouth that will follow. Gluten-free options are available and still absolutely delicious.
So next time you wonder " what's for dinner tonight ?" Go to Basilico, they don't deliver, and they don't need to, because you'll be happy to go pick up these babies as THEY ARE THAT GOOD!
Ample parking outside and you can dine in their small quaint and tastefully decorated restaurant.
Ps you're welcome ! You'll thank me once you try their pizzas and never want a cheap nasty pizza ever again.
A cozy local spot with a warm vibe, great drinks, and a diverse menu for various diets, perfect for a laid-back night out.

Hand down best beef burger I have ever had! Nice chargrilled taste and great sauce, Mrs is gluten free and she said the gfo was great too, will be back for sure.
A charming spot with cozy seating and delightful cocktails, though the food's flavors may leave some wanting more.

To be as absolutely fair as I can be let me add some context.
1) I am a tourist so I'm unaware with what the average pricing/quality is of restaurant food
Service: 5/5 The wait staff were very friendly, accommodating and answered all our questions
Drinks: 5/5 The cocktails were tasty, not too strong and had lovely flavours and presentation. They were $20NZ each.
Atmosphere: 5/5 It's a cute spot, we ate indoors as it was a little cooler out however they also have a nice outdoor area. Good music, fresh aromas from the kitchen and good seating.
Food: 2/5
I'm going to use Cook/Flavour/Plating/Size/Price as my rating scale here.
1- The cook of the food was perfect. There was nothing over/under done. The meat was tender and juicy, the veggies crisp and fresh.
2- The Plating was elegant and well done. The dishes were presented thoughtfully and had pops of color.
3- Price - So this is where I'm unfamiliar with what normal pricing is, however we paid around $120Nz for 2 people to have 2 drinks, a large platter and a snack each. We omitted having the short ribs as they were $75 and based on the portion size and flavours I'm glad we did. Prices seem steep for what you get but it could be normal.
4- Size - The dishes are small. They recommend 1 Large + snack or 3 Small per person and that's probably right however given the price that's a steep bill. We tried sharing 1 Large + 2 snacks between the both of us and left Hungry and kind of let down.
5- Flavour - As I'm finding with everything in Tauranga, it's bland. Even our potato chips from the grocery store were under seasoned. If you want crisp, natural veggies then you're fine but the only hint of any flavours or seasonings was salt and some chopped chillies. It's definitely not the robust and complex flavours you'd get from other Asian cuisine and while it boasts to be a fusion restaurant, it's an attempt at best. While flavour is entirely a personal preference, as there are raving reviews about this restaurant, myself personally found the cook and presentation of the food to be lovely but the flavours left me wanting.
All in all I gave it a 3/5 as the drinks, service and atmosphere are great but the Price/Size/Flavour of the dishes felt lacking.
* It is worth noting they have a lot of Gluten free options so if you're struggling to find somewhere to eat, I'd still recommend it as its by no means awful. It's a nice, slightly pricey, average restaurant experience*
Never had hells pizza before and I will never have it again.... Cost me $50 ...and they were small and dry, one was gluten free and dairy free and one was gluten free and mine was a pineapple thing and some chip things that were also dry and hard . . Absolutely disgusting, never again ... The delivery guy was great .... But they were pizzas from hell even the disabled person I got the dairy and gluten free wouldnt it it ...
Expect a delightful experience with amazing, fresh ingredients and personalized service that goes the extra mile for a satisfying meal.

Value for money...this burger was so amazing super fresh ingredients and the g.f bun so soft and bread-like that I double checked it was gluten free...the cook showed me the individually wrapped g.f buns..for a nervous coeliac this service was above and beyond 😀 going back!!
Affordable with solid service, though spice levels may surprise; simple vegan options make it a chill spot for diverse tastes.

Great price and good service. Some of the group asked for mild but said it was still spicy. And we had to ask for more rice as they didn't bring enough out. But still a great meal. Vegan and gluten free options were simple and no fuss to ask for.
A hidden gem with amazing hot chips, known for attentive service and special meal options that cater to unique dietary needs.

Really nice pub. They do a couple of vegan and gluten free options including a pumpkin and chickpea bowl which is really nice. Plus vegan and gf fries of course. Upstairs is really nice with a small view of the sea. Recommended for both vegans and non-vegans.
Always enjoy a bar snack and beer here. Friendly staff, clean premises and the food is great. Would be nice to see more GF options for celiac and we would visit more often.

We took the two kids here for dinner. One of the kids is gluten free but the server got the manager to come out and explain exactly what was GF on the menu which was very helpful. They were also happy to make fresh sushi rolls. The food was provided very quickly (this made the kids happy!) and was very tasty. The yaki soba beef was also great. Overall a great place for an easy meal with the kids.
