Fantastic!! My GF husband doesn’t really like fried food so he ordered the grilled Haddock and Hobson’s Special Salad and was extremely pleased. My daughter and I are not GF so we ordered the original fried fish. The single order of chips is enough for 2 and we also ordered the (must-have) mushy peas and green bean sides which also happen to be GF. Porchester location is a bit of a walk from Notting Hill, but it is a lovely spot, clean and decorated with subway tiles, nostalgic pictures and butcher block tables.

We visited this beautiful restaurant on Sunday the 26th January. We were booked in for dinner and very much looking forward to a roast dinner after a soggy and cold day at the zoo. Upon arrival we were welcomed into the restaurant by the manager. Upon checking our booking the table was checked and we were shown to our seats. The restaurant had a lovely friendly and warming atmosphere, the rooms were lovely and warm. Shortly after sitting down , our drinks order was taken and they arrived shortly after. I myself am coeliac, I also cannot have dairy or soya . I mentioned this to the waitress , who checked straight away with the chef what they could cook for me to meet my dietary requirements. To my amazement I could have the roast beef dinner! There was a great selection on the menu for normal and for gluten free needs. I was very happy with the choices available to me, even with additional allergies. Also the children’s menu had plenty of options, we took 3 children with us. The food arrived in good time and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing! The beef was cooked to perfection and the dinner was to a very high standard. The children’s meals were good size portions and the kids loved them. We enjoyed the food so much that we had puddings also. Yes they even had a pudding that was gluten, dairy and soya free! I had a sticky toffee sponge with dairy free ice cream. It was amazing, I don’t usual go out for a meal where I can be catered for especially for pudding as well. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our meal out and will definitely be dining again. It was faultless and the staff were all very friendly and attentive. Thank you for being an inclusive restaurant and making our Sunday lunch an enjoyable one.

Delicious and delightful. It feels incredible to go to a restaurant and not have to worry about getting glutened. Charming atmosphere too. We had the vegan lasagna and the gnocchi. Both sublime. Even the vegan cheesecake was wonderful. Wish I lived closer!

Perfect place to grab gluten free fish and was really impressed on how the young lady who served us handled a tricky punter, who was very unreasonable(imagine getting annoyed with the chef for not giving you chips the way you like them even though she didn’t say anything when she ordered and the waitress was happy to bring her another portion).

Fantastic gluten free fish and chips, any day of the week! And no extra charge for it either. Really nice food, and definitely recommend it - they even had a bottle of gluten free vinegar in there. The food in our pictures is from Brown’s, we picked it up and took it down to Mudeford Quay which is only a few minutes away.

Visited for the first time after our 4 year old daughters coeliac diagnosis, myself and partner are able to and do eat gluten, so we weren’t sure what to expect from the fish and chips we both ordered. They were honestly really lovely, I would never have known the whole meal was gluten free as it tasted no different from regular fish. The batter is so light and really crispy and delicious! Was really impressed with the kids meal and thought that it was very reasonably priced for a sit in (or takeaway) meal. My little girl chose fish bites and chips, which came with a carton of apple juice or water for £5! Which I thought was brilliant for the size of the portion. Curry sauce was also really nice, and the amount was plentiful. The lady who served us couldn’t have been nicer and was really attentive. There was an offer of a portion of free halloumi which she boxed up for us to takeaway too. Really pleased to find this on our doorstep, very lucky to have a fully gluten free place to enjoy without fear! Will definitely return.

Cannot tell you how excited I was to have a full gluten free menu to choose from especially when I thought I was buying food for the rest of the family and having beans on toast when I got back home! All our food was delicious and the view from the bench opposite the shop wasn’t bad either!

This is the place to go for gluten free fish and chips. All fresh cooked to order and all gluten free. The batter is light, crispy snd golden brown. The fish generously portioned and cooked beautifully. Even the curry sauce is GF. Staff helpful, friendly and just nice. I recommend 👌.

I can't recommend this place enough for gluten-free fish and chips. After walking up and down the seafront, looking for something to eat, it was the last place we tried before giving up and going hungry again on a day out. What can I say, You've not visited York until you have been to Drakes Fish n Chips Restaurant in the heart of the Old town, this small shop and sit down restaurant is a must for any visitor to the City. the menu is rather good and caters for Gluten options. although a little crowed in the seating areas to the rear it works with its warm and friendly atmosphere. My only wish is I would like to see them knock through into another room to make more space and cater for those with disability issues .

First time visiting Tuckers and was very impressed! Gluten free chips and friendly service. We even ordered another portion of the chips as they were so tasty! Dog friendly and went the extra mile with a free sausage for him that they had spare. Will be visiting again and letting my gluten free friends know about this hidden treasure! We finished off with ice creams, (we ate the chips too quick to take a photo!)

I am a celiac so fish and chips are a rare treat for me. They do gluten free fish and chips and not only that,they have gluten free vinegar. That's the first chippy I have ever known do gluten free vinegar. Last week was my 5th visit and as always the food was absolutely yummy.

A really good fish and chip restaurant. Nice welcome from the front of house lady, who made sure we were aware of the seasonal special offer and the substantial savings available on a small selection of meals. Eat in or take away. The fish, we chose hake, had a really crispy batter and the beef dripping came through nicely. The small chip portion was plenty. Do go for the mushy peas as here they are properly done and generously served. All in all one of the best fish and chip suppers I have had. There are some vegetarian options and gluten free versions too. Parking is good as is access.

Rather a nice place to sit and have a meal really.. thay do gluten free food which is ok.. the chips was nice as was the mushy peas and the batter was quite crispy but the fish was rather small and quite thin and for over £15 plus the price of a pot of tea was really quite expensive.. on the other hand my wife had a prawn salad and wow did that look nice and well worth it.. the jacket potatoes looked very nice as well and a good size.. will definitely try again sometime.. 😊

Best fish and chips in Southport. Well worth a visit, staff are lovely, helpful and very welcoming. It’s always a pleasure to go there. Me and my grandson have a little drive from Liverpool every month to FYLDES. We love it, and the gluten free menu is a bonus.

I loved it. One of the best fish and chips that I ate in my life. I ordered gluten free fish. It meant no butter just rice flour....make the fish tasty, crispy and luscious....chips are crispy to not fatty at all. Quick service as well.

Both the gluten-free and regular fish were absolutely amazing. Usually gluten-free options are inferior to the regular choice but here the batter was crispy and fish was fluffy. Generous portions and well priced.

We have eaten here a number of times now and have always been so impressed by the food and lovely atmosphere. I am coeliac and have always been wonderfully catered for. We recently had a birthday meal here for 11 of us, with many dietary requirements and allergies. There was so much choice and the food was so delicious and such good quality. Been here many times for the GF fish and chips which I have always raved about. Since I last went it seems to have changed hands. Ordered it today and when it came out I asked for GF vinegar. Guy looked puzzled as to why I requested it then said they hadn't made mine GF, despite him being the one who took my order and only 2 other people in the whole place so not busy. Luckily I asked for the vinegar as someone with Coeliac disease would have been very poorly. I then had to wait while they cooked mine so my husband started eating without me. Meal used to come with a side salad but ours didn't today. Unfortunately not impressed and won't look to return. Please be very careful if you are a Coeliac as previously they have been so careful about that.

I was in gluten free heaven. A wide range of choices on the menu. I went for the traditional fish in batter and chips as I can so rarely take up this option. The batter was the lightest and crispiest ever. The restaurant itself was booked but I had a table outside, blessed with the weather. I was really well looked after by Ellie. Lovely staff and well trained, offering a great service. I would definitely recommend.

Great find, being gluten intolerant it is a rare event when I can choose anything from the menu and not have any worries about cross contamination. The service was attentive and prompt, the food very good. We opted for Haddock and chips with a side of home made Yorkshire caviar (mushy peas). Fully recommended.
