Dough Pizza is easily one of the best Neapolitan pizzas I’ve ever had. It’s incredibly authentic, though they use a bit more cheese than you’d typically find in Italy—likely to cater to the American palate. That said, the quality is outstanding, and it’s clear they take pride in their ingredients and execution.
Beyond the food, the ambiance is fantastic. They’ve done a great job creating an upscale dining experience, making it a perfect spot for date night. The wine selection is excellent, and their cocktail list is well-curated. If you’re into wine, the flight is a must-try—generous pours of four different Italian wines that give you a great sampling.
Everything I’ve tried here, from appetizers to pizzas, has been excellent, but what really stands out is their gluten-free pizza. Surprisingly, many of the staff even prefer it in their personal time, and I get why—it has an amazing fluffy texture. I don’t have gluten issues, but I still opt for the gluten-free crust because it’s that good.
On top of the great food and drinks, the service is top-notch. One of the wait staff, Beau, is consistently friendly and polished. We’ve formed a great relationship with him, and he always takes excellent care of us.
This place has become a weekly tradition for my wife and me, and I can’t recommend it enough!

I came in from out of town on a business trip and naturally, had to check out riverwalk & grab a bite to eat on the water ! Here's the catch- I have severeeeeee celiac disease. Like, cross contamination sensitive. It makes finding safe eateries while traveling a...challenge to say the least. That being said, I found Paesano's via a Google search and saw immediately they had a huge gluten free menu...I called and spoke to the staff before I decided to catch an Uber there..and they made me feel so safe. Understood the allergen protocol.
I get to the restaurant and I'm seated immediately- during peak dinner hours. I get a cozy little spot right on the riverwalk, perfect for people watching as I dine solo. My server, Rudy** was such a pleasure - kind , attentive and understood the assignment right away when i explained my allergen needs. He assured me multiple times before food was dropped that he spoke to Chef Raul** and told me their cross contamination precautions. Wow did I feel safe. It means so much to us allergy folks when places just GET IT. And they GET IT .
Lovely vibes, personable and friendly service even during peak dinner ! For a solo dining guest ! I am happy to report I have a safe spot to visit next time I'm here in SAT.
A great spot for celebration with an inviting atmosphere, incredible service, and commitment to local charities makes this place a must-visit!

Wow, what incredible service. Chef Sean is the best! Stopped in today for a to-go order but we had some dietary requests. Chef Sean not only came to our table to assist with our special requests but he also shared a personal recipe for a gluten free bread! Talk about going the extra mile!
Give him a raise!

Worth the wait!
I did the “build your own pasta” with the gluten free pasta & parmesan cheese sauce, which was delicious - being able to mix & match their pasta options to all be GF was great. Husband got the chicken parm & absolutely loved it too. Portion sizes were very generous!
We chose 4/5 as for an Italian restaurant, we were hoping for a bread appetizer that most restaurants offer, but we didn’t have that. And we do agree with the other reviewers that it is a little slow, but it’s absolutely worth the wait. Staff were all very kind & personable!
Get ready for a lively atmosphere, incredible service, and standout pizzas that many claim are the best around!

Late Monday night dinner, no wait, accommodating staff and excellent service. A really good gluten free pizza, I think it’s rice flour dough so it had a great chew to it. Wings and burger great as well.
Was in town visiting and was told by a local to try this place. Got 3 pizzas to-go for the family (1 with a gluten free crust). All were delish! Definitely recommend for take out.

Absolutely Delicious and Timely!
We were passing through on the way back from Hill Country and ordered two pizzas from the road.
Sofia's recommendations were spot-on, and her time-estimate exact!
We stopped right in, picked up the pizzas, and hit the road again. The Gluten-Free pizzas are larger than you'd think, and so tasty!
Thanks again!

We stopped in the other day for our first visit to Parry’s. We were looking for some outdoor seating on a Sunday. We were immediately seated at a nice table on the patio. Our waitress, Chloe, quickly stopped by and got our drink order going. As new customers, Chloe spent several minutes with us going over the menu, explaining the available gluten free options, and answering all of our questions. The manager, Leslie, stopped by during our time at Parry’s to ensure we had everything we needed. Chloe was a great waitress. Leslie was a very pleasant manager who also spent some time answering several of our questions. It was a great visit and we will definitely be back!!

Delicious food. Fast, friendly service. Vegan and gluten free options! We came in on a slow Wednesday afternoon when they had just opened for lunch. The chef was there and he greeted us and thanked for coming. He's a wonderful man who welcomes you into his restaurant like it is your own home. And his food will make you feel like it truly is.

My children chose to take me to North Italia to celebrate Mother’s Day. We were seated promptly. We ordered an appetizer which took 35 minutes to be served. I assumed it was busy due to Mother’s Day. We promptly ordered our entrees. I ordered the gluten free pasta. And we waited and waited and waited. 90 minutes later our meals arrived. My pasta was watery and very unappetizing but I was determined to enjoy it and move on. My daughter could see the dish was a mess and brought it to the attention of the manager who came over. Very friendly! I told him I was ok and would eat it but could I have some bread to soak up some of the water. The bread came after the waiter had cleaned up our table! It seems as if the people that bring the food are clueless to any issues with the table. Our waiter was also the bartender so we waited some more for our ticket. They comped my meal and dessert which were delicious!! But unfortunately never again. There are sooo many other great
Italian choices in the city I’ll go anywhere else.

Samantha made sure to take our allergy’s into account with our food preferences and was very nice!! She recommended great dishes for our first time. Will definitely be back the tiramisu was to die for!!

We’ve been coming to Tre periodically for over ten years. It is THAT good. Last night we went to celebrate a couple of birthdays, and the pulled mozzarella, Rainbow Trout, and Bolognese (both normal and gluten free) were on point! The “foodie” in our group raved about the crispy rainbow trout, and he is not easily impressed. The house Italian salad was also wonderful and fresh, though perhaps just a tad heavy on the dressing for my personal preference. The restaurant is tucked back behind SAMA and overlooks the river (shaded). This place delights, we will continue to go back!
Quick service and a solid menu with the added bonus of a fresh salad make this spot a pleasant choice for a casual outing.

First and last time customers. We had an awful experience. We had called a head to insure they had gluten free crust available and were told they did. So went and ordered our pizzas. The manager waited until after we had ordered (listing to us order BTW) and let us sit and wait for a while with hungry young children and myself being super Pregnant... it's hard work getting young hungry children all set up when your a week away from your due date. Finally getting everything all set up and being able to sit and wait a wait for some time only for him only to come over and tell us that they don't have any gluten free crusts and that the pasta is not safe because they boil the gluten free pasta in the same pot as the regular pasta... What?!? How can you even offer gluten free pasta if you don't have a designated pot? The entire experience was pretty darn awful. I have no idea what the pint of calling a head was. We still left hungry with screaming kids. Never again...

Great restaurant, you walk in and personally I felt like I’d left San Antonio. So neatly decorated and the music is much better than a pretty well known Italian chain.
We ordered the antipasto for four, Lasagna, and Chicken Pesto Panini. While I personally didn’t try any of the glut-end fair the antipasto was good. There was a ham and a cheese that was placed that lift a little to be desired but it’s decided we will be back to try other items, such as any gluten free dishes.

I love that this place is peaceful inside and did not have blaring music or tvs playing. Tons of gluten free options as well. It's our only and favorite date spot

My family and I went to Rooted for their grand opening yesterday and the food was amazing!! I tried the stuffed portabella for the first time and I can’t stop thinking about it. It was 🔥. We also had their legendary lasagna, which has always been a family favorite and I’m so happy my favorite soup (the Zuppa Toscana) is back on the menu!! The ginger ale and lemonade were both fresh and delicious. We finished out our meal with the ricciarelli cookies. These cookies are vegan and gluten free and are some of the best cookies I’ve ever had.
Customer service is also always top notch and the owners are the best. Rooted continues to raise the bar for vegan options and remains my favorite establishment, hands down.

Delicious food and excellent service. It’s pretty loud inside, but the patio is very peaceful. All waitstaff is ‘your’ waitstaff, so you never have to wait until you see (or remember) who your waitstaff was to get something else. Every one is very friendly and helpful. I love that they have gluten free bread (that is very good). The Bruschetta platter is amazing and enjoyed the Nut Bar for dessert.

A buddy of mine raved about this restaurant and suggested it. I have gone to this location twice and the food and service was amazing. I was first greeted by a dude outside who was taking names down for seating. It was awesome to hear he was from Colorado which is where i am from.
Im bad with names but on both occasions my servers were extremely friendly. My second time going i was by myself which i always find awkward going to restaurants by myself. I was seated in a booth. Before joining the military i had worked as a server so when i saw one person sitting in a booth/table id usually have the mind set that id be making a small tip. Id always provide excellent service no matter what though. I take my experience as a server to restaurants if im sitting alone. Going here i made it super easy on the server since i knew what i wanted from the get go. I got the strawberry fizz if i remember right… the amazing alcoholic drink. Man does that thing sneak up on you cause its that great. Haha. Id order the spinach dip and a gluten free pizza with bacon and jalapenos. The spinach dip would be better if there was tortilla chips instead of wonton chips but either way hands down a must try in my opinion (its not gluten free though). Now for the pizza. Im going to state finding a great gluten free pizza is hard. Here they exceeded my expectations. Holy cow i love the pizza. Even taking it home and eating it cold is amazing. The bacon is real so its not like you are getting cheap pizza. Its actual quality. If the gluten free pizza is this good im 100% sure the regular normal pizza is great also. Now back to the server. Haha. She was sweet and amazing. Well both of them were. As i was saying as a former server i make it worth serving me as a solo customer. At the end of the night with her amazing service and the way she checked in on me while i was on the phone with my fiance (states away) i tipped her 40$ on a bill of, if i remember right, 30 ish dollar bill. What made my night, and dont take this in a negative review way, was her saying they ran out of the small pizza boxes and bringing me out this large pizza box for maybe half a 10” pizza. I was laughing with my fiance on the phone while putting the pizza in it. Absolutely made my experience that much greater and walking back into my barracks with a large pizza and them looking at it and them being dumbfounded was comical.
To the girls who served me that worked in the section directly at the front door: thank you so much and keep up the great work!
We went here last night for dinner and the food was absolutely delicious! They even have gluten free wood fired pizza which was delicious.
The service however, was absolutely terrible. Our server didn’t know the menu or even have time to answer our questions. We asked three different people for salt and pepper and never got it. Asked again and again for Parmesan cheese and never got it. We finally had to borrow it from another table.
When it was time for dessert we were told they had homemade chocolate gelato. It was actually terrible vanilla ice cream from the grocery store with chocolate syrup on top. Huge disappointment after a delicious dinner.
I will say our server looked like she had tables all over the entire restaurant which leads me to believe the terrible service has more to due with poor management. I really wanted to like this place because of the delicious food but I definitely won’t be dining in if I ever go back.

Ordered three pizzas, two 12 inch ( one traditional cheese and one gluten free pepperoni) and one 18 inch Don pizza for pick up. I showed up at the time indicated and had to wait 15 minutes for the pizzas. The gluten free pizza was fantastic. The cheese pizza had little to no cheese and was all crust on the edges about 2 inches in, the 18 inch Don had little to no cheese and was just crust about two inches in almost all the way around the pizza and in some places close to 4-5 inches in with NO toppings or cheese. Very disappointed and regretted tipping generously when I prepaid online because the tip was certainl mot earned. Doubt I'll be going back.
*UPDATE* I received an email from Customer Relations, and Anthony apologized for this visit and how badly it went. I was given a gift card to come back. I truly appreciate it, and Anthony didn't have to do that. Kenny, a manager at the Bitters location also sent me an email apologizing. That made everything better, and it goes back to the saying, "When you're here, you're family."
Usually I love coming to this restaurant for To-Go or dining in. This time, it was an okay experience. I feel like the server was still new, and didn't quite understand the pacing of the meal. Also I asked for my meal to be gluten free, and my pasta was, but not my chicken parm. It was corrected immediately though. He was nice, just needs a few more tables.

I come to San Antonio frequently for work and I love finding places like this. I came in the middle of the day so it was nice and quiet. I loved the combination of slightly rustic and elegant ambiance. It felt nice to come into and I didn’t feel out of place either. Colleen, my server, had so many wonderful suggestions. I am gluten free and wary of eating at Italian restaurants but they had plenty of options. I had the pizza on a cauliflower crust and a glass of Gavi wine at her recommendation. She was spot on because she listens to me and asked great questions about what I liked. I topped it off with a raspberry and lemon gelato combo. And I was able to take some home. This is a lovely place and I hope more people discover it. I will be back. Thank you for a lovely afternoon experience.
