Felt I was able to enjoy my food w confidence! Separate fryer for GF fries. Staff said they prepare food in separate area. Had the taco nachos, landshark burger and fries! Delish!!! #celiac
Listen it’s a nice little place….. crepes were amazing and GF. But for a family of four to spend $100 for 4 crepes?! I’m not against spending money for a nice time but I always think how much are they actually up charging a crepe,/ a thin pancake with Nutella and strawberries.
Long story short- they aren’t worth the money. You can make them cheaper and just as well at home.
Let me just add this… for those who it’s meant… those with celiac and/or celiac family members. This place is crazily over charging. $3 per crepe is $12 dollars over charge for a family of 4. Like we even have the choice. Well we do and that’s what I meant by well just make them at home. Of you’re like us we love trying new GF places etc. just be prepared to drop a dime.
Food and service was awesome. I have celiac disease and their gluten free option was quite delicious. It's rare to find good tasting gluten free options as well as people understanding regarding the tolerance of gluten.
One of my favorite breakfast spots in Myrtle Beach! They have great selection of traditional breakfast items like pancakes, sausage, eggs and waffles BUT they also offer gluten free and vegan options as well. Lots of items for the whole family to choose from!
Amazing! Service was terrific and food was absolutely delicious! Celiac friendly- extremely aware and the price was surprisingly very reasonable for the amount of food!! AAA+++
We are from NY and used to really good pizza. This pizza kind of reminded me of freezer pizza, but again, we are spoiled in ny!
The service was okay. The host was friendly. The waiter did his job but did not have much personality.
One gross thing was that there was a fan blowing on rotate next to the bathrooms so you could smell that while in the restaurant... Kind of gross. Otherwise it was a clean place to eat.
One nice thing to note is that they do offer a gluten free pizza!
Hook & Barrel is my favorite restaurant in the Grand Strand, perfect for both special occasions and casual dining. The beautiful atmosphere and attentive team complement their consistently delicious food. I appreciate their seasonal menu changes reflecting local availability - it shows real commitment to sustainability. As a gluten-free diner, I love their numerous accommodating options. Reservations recommended - this gem fills up quickly and for good reason.
Blueberry’s Grill is an excellent choice for breakfast, offering a diverse menu with something for everyone. We were excited to try their gluten-free pancakes, but unfortunately, they had run out by the time we ordered, which was a bit disappointing. However, the Mediterranean omelette with gluten-free bread more than made up for it—it was flavorful and satisfying.
We also ordered the blueberry cream brûlée French toast, blueberry pancakes, and the traditional specialty with sweet potato pancakes all of which were delicious. The cappuccino and lattes were the perfect complement to our meal. The atmosphere was lively and upbeat, and the service was attentive and friendly. Despite the minor disappointment, we had a great experience and would definitely return!
Unfortunately, we arrived in the middle of a poorly executed menu change. On day one, they had a diverse menu with many gluten free options and good portion sizes. On day two, they had a new menu, servers that had no idea what was happening, smaller portion sizes, and no flexibility to order anything from the previous menu - not even simple pancakes with white and semi sweet chocolate chips. The server was great but powerless to do anything. The reduction in gluten free options was an unwelcome change as well for a population that already struggles to find safe breakfast options.
Me and my new friend had dinner here. Serge was our waiter and the service was great! I had the dinner sampler for one. My friend the gluten free menu dinner. He loved it. German atmosphere!
Great!!!! Highly recommend. Manager came out spoke to us and even just offered to bring out the label of any product we had a question about!! 1000/1000 recommend!!!
I have a gluten allergy and sometimes find ordering food difficult. The girl that waited on us tonight was very happy from the minute we walked in and continued to be. I wanted a certain sundae but anxiously asked about one ingredient. She could answer my question right away and suggested swapping a different topping. My husband was very happy with his sundae as well. We'll be back to try more!
We had the best oven fired pizza. A family member had the gluten free lasagna and it was fabulous. The meal was made exceptional by our waiter George and manager Ashton. So nice and professional. Great food and even better service.
This store is filled with not only great healthy grocery options but also has a little restaurant in the back which has load of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options! We were so happy to find this location and the staff were SO wonderful and friendly. Definitely great for vegans visiting Myrtle Beach.
Server spilled entire glass of water on table and guest #1, accidents happen but didn't really seem to care. Didn't put order in correctly for guest #2 then tried to argue with customer. Guest #3's dish was requested as gluten free option, was not honored. Poor customer service, will not return. Food was decent.
I had a salad and hubby had the smothered chicken. We were both very happy with our meals. They don’t have a designated gluten-free menu, but they did have options to make things on the menu gluten-free. It’s a shared fryer, so possibility of cross-contamination. The fries looked amazing, but we had a big day ahead of us and I was afraid of making myself sick so I didn’t try them.
We had a great time as two 30 year old adults. I am gluten free and the meal was great. The chicken is very tender it was delicious. You will be kind of packed like sardines in there but it's tolerable. It was very fun thought our knight lost he did his best!
Absolute amazing brunch/breakfast place they had very good service and the food is amazing took 5-10 minutes to get our food and just is overall the best breakfast place I’ve been to (South Carolina Myrtle beach)has gluten free options and a ton more options to pick by.
We love stopping at Crazy Mason when we visit Myrtle Beach. I have Celiac and they even offer Gluten Free options. They do have Dairy Free as well. We took a friend a long with us last night to experience what this place is all about. Max, our server was very pleasant and answered any questions we had. Our friend said that she will definitely need to return. Keep up the good work!
We spent our anniversary dinner here. The food and staff were great! They were very knowledgeable about the menu and offered alternatives for my gluten free and dairy free diet.
I have celiac and am very sensitive to gluten therefore I get nervous when it comes to eating out. The waiter was very nice and asked about any allergies. I told him I was celiac and he told me that there were several item on the bar that were gluten free or I could just order off the menu and they would prepare it in the back. He gave me an allergy card and told me I could look around the bar and someone would point out the GF items or, there was a QR code on the allergy card that depending on my allergy, it would list what I could and couldn’t have on the bar. Personally, I was nervous about the bar situation and chose play it safe and order food from the menu. I ordered a steak, loaded baked potato, and side salad. Everything was delicious. I will comment that I eventually broke down and did eat the (GF) rice pudding from the bar and it was perfect. I am almost 24 hours out and have not had a reaction so I was very impressed.
Sushi is great! But psa to anyone who has a gluten sensitivity, this is not a safe place to go. I enjoyed everything and the bartender was nice but I got really sick after eating here. Not bashing the place at all, just want to save someone else from the same thing!
LOVE me some chick-fil-A! Grilled nuggets and a kale crunch salad are my go-to, but their regular salad or grilled chicken sandwich can both be made gluten free.
My husband is gluten free, and we found this adorable brunch style restaurant. My husband had a gluten free Monte Cristo, and according to him it was delicious. I had Pennsylvania Dutch style blueberry pancakes that were to die for! Our waitress, Sharon, was very attentive and made our dinning experience wonderful.
The best pancake house on the Grand Strand! As locals, we choose Theo's over all others for great food (gluten-free options is a plus for us!) and incredible service from the staff!
We decided to come Tuesday night for date night. We accidentally made our reservation for the week after, and they were more than accommodating to switch it around so we could dine that day. We had Ace as our server and from the start he was incredibly kind and very passionate about his job. He did so well explaining the menu to us, giving us advice on menu items, and helping to keep our night special with a signature plate and regular check ins at our table. The food was incredibly fresh and elegantly displayed. We informed him of our gluten allergy and he was able to provide us with which items were gluten free and substitutions for each portion of the meal. A beautiful atmosphere for a simple date night or a treasured anniversary! Will come again for sure!
Got the gluten free pasta with meat sauce and salad with the dressing and without croutons and it was 100% gluten free (no reaction). Oh and the Andes chocolates are also gluten free 🤤
Love, love, love Mr Fish! Staff is knowledgeable and helpful and always have great recommendations from their market items. And for lunch or dinner, this is a hidden gem. Awesome menu items, and even better specials. When accommodating a request for gluten free items, they were helpful and knowledgeable (get the hibachi shrimp, GF, with no sauce toppings). Our go-to every time we visit MB!
CROSS CONTAMINATION WARNING!!
When asked if there was a separate pizza sauce for gluten free crust, they looked dumbfounded. I had to explain that it cannot be the same sauce they used for regular pizza. If you have celiac you need to inform them to use new sauce, pizza cutter, pans etc.
Service was good, Gluten friendly crust tasted good but was hard (very crunchy). They should work on that as the pizza toppings and taste was very good.
This restaurant is NOT celiac safe. Unfortunately there is a lot of cross contamination when the “gluten friendly” pizzas are made. Pizza Trays not washed between use, not switching gloves, pizza cutters, spatulas etc. I was not able to eat pizza here. However my family members that were able to eat regular pizza had a great meal. Some allergy training and accommodation would be needed if MOD would like to expand their customer base to those of us with dietary restrictions.
The owner is the hostess, and a gem of a human. Very engaging and caring. The veal saltimbocca was very tasty. Tons of gluten FREE options which made the misses happy. Would certainly return when back.
We tried this place during a soccer tournament nearby. We ended up eating there both days. My daughter got the avocado toast both days and loved it. I got an Acai bowl the first day and a gluten-free avocado toast the second day. So so so good. I also got a gluten free key lime dessert to go and it was also delicious.

Server was great about my son’s gluten allergy! Very knowledgeable about food! Had a gluten free bun so my son enjoyed his dinner! Had a delicious French dip sandwich and great happy hour! For 4 people to eat it was $78 which was not bad considering I had an adult beverage.
