Freekeh is a hidden gem in SF and strikes that rare combination of amazing food, service, and ambiance.
We ordered a house sampler to try their various spreads and could not decide which one was our favorite- they were all that good, though the muhammara is a must-try! I am gluten intolerant and they happily accommodated me with homemade GF lavash-esque chips to go with the spreads.
We also got the cauliflower and three different skewers - would highly recommend the kufta and shish tawook (chicken); each came paired with different sauces and were incredibly well marinated and tender. We tried two desserts and loved the halawa o buza- creamy, nutty, and the perfect amount of sweet.
Our dining experience was complemented by the owner and waitress, who took great care of our table and simply radiated kindness and warmth. It was such a pleasure to dine here and we can’t wait to come back!
This trendy spot in the Mission District offers a cozy vibe with diverse, health-focused menus and plenty of plants, perfect for a relaxed outing.

We'd eaten here almost exactly a year ago and really loved the gluten free and vegan options so we tried it again. Ordered the mediterranean chicken, shrimp, lamb and falafel rice bowls for takeout. Didn't bother checking the order as we waited for it and were in communication with the cashier at the time who let us know our order was ready. Get home and they switched the shrimp for some gyro seeming meat and didn't bother to label the lamb and chicken which looked suspiciously similar. The person who ordered the chicken last year couldn't eat their dish as it seemed to be way over spiced. The person who ordered the shrimp was understandably disappointed but it was too far and too late to go back. Will not order from Healthyish again as it was a very sad meal - with the exception of the falafel bowl which was delicious.
With a unique ordering system via tablet, this cozy spot offers a variety of tasty options in a welcoming atmosphere.

The food is decent, but this place gets 4 stars because of the location, charming decor and quaint Mediterranean vibe. It is expensive for the food quality and portions you get, so just expect to come for the atmosphere and hanging out.
Our servers were polite and they seated us on time since there was space even though they hadn’t recorded a reservation we made over the phone a week in advance.
Vegan and gluten free items are marked on the menu and there’s a great selection of options for both.
The Greek wine they recommended was pretty sweet, even though I asked for not a sweet wine but it was novel to try something they recommended so it was fine.
Enjoy unique buckwheat crêpes with a twist, loved for their authentic flavor and surprisingly good taste, making it a neighborhood gem.

It was quite tasty, and the gluten-free crepes were good too.
You could still taste that they were gluten-free because the consistency was different. I had the Nutella banana crepes, and found it very strange that the banana was warm and soft. Normally I know that the banana is added to the crêpes later, and not while it is still on the plate, and is therefore properly fried.
I think there are people who like it, but for me it was very unusual.

We love La Med's food to the point that we leapt at the chance to have them cater our wedding! We cannot say enough good things about the experience. We had a range of dietary needs to accommodate (vegan, gluten free, pescatarian, you name it) and La Med was able to provide incredible options that impressed every guest. We worked with Jordan, who was super responsive, to plan our menu and finalize last minute details. Day of, everything went smoothly thanks to great coordination by Jordan and his staff. Our guests raved about the beautiful presentation of the buffet, how colorful and fresh things were and of course, how great everything tasted. The cost was totally reasonable, too; we feel like we got a great value for how exceptional everything was. Of all the decisions we made for our wedding, catering from La Med is one we'd make again in a heartbeat. Thank you, La Med team!

The Christmas decorations are SO CUTE!! it feels so cozy and warm inside. :) my grandma loves the soup and I usually eat the mousakka. My grandma has a gluten allergy and it makes dining out so easy. I usually have Deidre or hannah as my server and I always follow their recommendations. They have quite a few gluten free options!
$14.78 for the falafel rice bowl, and it comes with good lentil soup. Fast service and clearly labeled vegan and gluten free options. Definitely will come back.
This no-frills spot serves up a mean king combo grill and flavorful baba ganoush, plus a tasty self-serve hot sauce that packs a punch.

No-frills Turkish restaurant - got the king combo grill (to try a bit of everything) 🍖 and the baba ganoush 🍆
Both were delicious 😋
The hot sauce was tasty too 🌶️ you will need to get it yourself from the counter next to the fridge.
Asked for no pita bread and no couscous to make it gluten free.

Delicious restaurant with kind service. We were lucky to be able to dine inside the flower shop - was a really unique experience and the food was also delicious! Almost everything is gluten free as well.
I waited 30+ minutes for a salad. I wanted to dine in but I wasted my whole lunch break and was not a happy camper. Apparently the grilled chicken skewers take 30 minutes to cook. I asked for the salad to go and a kind gentleman (maybe the manager?) told me next time to get the sliced gyro chicken and that it would be faster. He also offered me free baklava to try. I ordered the milk pudding as well, which was ok.
That being said... the chicken was delicious. Tender, juicy, great flavor. Only 3 pieces though, for $7. And the Greek salad was $13, which made it nearly $23 total after tax. This was not a $23 salad. Not even CLOSE.
I guess that's just to be expected in the area since it's across from the Chase Center. But I won't lie, I was pretty disappointed with the size of the dish and the time it took. I appreciated the baklava gesture but couldn't eat it (gluten), so I gave it to a co-worker.
4 stars because of yummy chicken and kind gesture from manager, but waaaaay overpriced.
Gluten free pizza crust here is handmade in Berkeley, frozen, and baked. Not bad. Felt like real pizza. The chef came out to discuss options with me and was super respectful, accommodating, and knew all about separation in the kitchen. The sausage and green olive pizza is delicious. Our group of ten had a wide variety of lunch options and there are enough non-alcoholic drinks for a midday work lunch. Parking below building, MUNI T line a block away, or street parking. It's hard to find located inside the building, up one floor at the back facing the bay. Ask the guard for directions or walk the ramp on the outside to enter from the Bay side. Fresh, healthy food, nice service, although be sure you communicate clearly with wait staff or they may throw out your pricey left overs. Sadly, they are still dark ages and only have one fryer that has gluten. Better places have two separate fryers. So be careful with allergies.

Best falafels I've had in SF and absolutely delicious. I love getting their food delivered or stopping by in person when I'm in the area. Service is friendly and friends have enjoyed it too. I always get 1/2 rice and hummus with combo or lamb or chicken. I love the desserts, their lentil soup, and the other dishes like musakhan is good too! A delicious spot for people who are gluten free/vegetarian with variety of menu items. The delicious falafel here is one of my favorites in the city!
Single gender neutral restroom on first floor. Indoor seating with a lot of 2-4 person tables. There's an upstairs patio for outdoor seating too.

At midnight I need to have dinner after a long long day. Thank God they were open. I order a Gluten Free pizza with tomato, mushrooms and spinach. It was really really good. The place is small and a few seats. If you are looking for good pizza late night, go in and enjoy.

Had an amazing meal here. Definitely worth stopping in if you’re in the area. The food was exceptional, the service was as well. The patas bravas was delicious, complex, and had layers of flavor that really elevated the dish. For the mains, I tried the braised lamb, which can be made dairy and gluten free upon request. Overall a wonderful visit, they were very accommodating of food allergies.

This is a great restaurant for a nice night out - perfect if you are attending theater at S.F. Playhouse (just next door), or the Toni Rembe theater (ACT’s home stage, formerly the Geary) or the Curran, both a block or two away on Geary. The food is delicious Mediterranean — I recommend the Branzino or Salmon — it’s well-marked for gluten free or vegetarian, and the staff is warm and friendly. The vibes are fantastic. This restaurant took over Farallon’s old space, and features all the beautiful sea decor, including lamps like swimming jellyfish and the mosaic tiles of an old public pool decorated with sea gods and goddesses. A must-do in Union Square!
