I was looking forward to eating here after an overnight flight because I have a gluten allergy (celiac) and this place had a lot of really good reviews (both here & other sources) about being accommodating.
Unfortunately, my experience wasn't like any of the previous reviews. The person asked if I actually have celiac, which was encouraging, but otherwise didn't seem to care and wasn't willing to take any additional precautions that others have reported (glove changing, etc.). I was hangry, and even though ORD is notorious for its lack of GF food options (it's embarrassing for an airport of this size), I didn't want to give them my business after that interaction. Hopefully I just got unlucky with who happened to be working at the time but still rather disappointing.
So, if you're looking for GF options while passing through ORD, I'd still give this place a try, just know that it's not a slam dunk and you might have to go elsewhere.
A hidden gem with a cozy vibe, offering delicious food and quick service, perfect for a casual outing or a relaxing meal.

Genuinely some of the best food I have had in a long time! So fresh and delicious. Staff was so friendly and it was such a cute vibe. I also have celiac disease and need to eat strictly gluten free and they were so knowledgeable about cross contamination and there were only 3 things on the whole menu that couldn’t be made gluten free. This will definitely be a regular spot for me!
With a lively vibe and fun decor, this spot is perfect for a lively outing, bustling with energy and cool photo ops.

Enjoyed the Nadine, just substituted the pepperoni for chicken and my partner had a gluten free pesto chicken pizza. All in all a good dinner. I'd recommend for those with disposable income as it's not cheap, but it's not exorbitantly expensive. A single small pizza in enough to fill one person
Happy to have visited the Chicago location after going to Seattle's earlier this year. What a great spot.. A so happy to realize that most is gluten free! Vegans and non vegans alike should check this place out.
A cozy spot known for its delightful atmosphere, where guests rave about the attentive service and unique dishes that make every visit memorable.

Great place to take family and friends, breakfast, lunch or dinner all delicious. Have celiac and there are always safe options for eating gluten free. Servers are attentive and knowledgeable
Tzuco is an upbeat and elegant dining experience in the heart of River North, Chicago. However, there were only 2 gluten free items on the entire menu.
I ordered the Mayan Ceviche (to make gluten free, ask for plaintain chips on the side) and my friend ordered the Albondigas en Calldillo (not gluten free). Both were extreme tasty with layers of flavor, but pretty spicy.
Overall, if you’re gluten free, maybe look elsewhere. Tzuco is definitely going to be standout if you’re not gluten-free and willing to spend enough to order multiple dishes (to feel satisfied) and not hungry afterwords.
The atmosphere itself was lively and exciting, and not too loud so I could still hear my friend. A good place for work dinners or celebrations!
Despite knowing the dish I wanted couldn't be made gluten free, they accommodated my request and were able to make it as gluten free as possible. The blood orange mimosas were amazing and we didn't have to wait long to get refills on our drinks. The manager came around to check on the tables which made it that much more personable.
With a fun menu full of regional flavors and a unique appetizer twist, this spot promises a vibrant dining experience you won’t forget!

Wow! What a wonderful restaurant. We had this place on our radar for a while and finally went for Friday date night. We ordered the lamb shank and a tlayuda. Both were very flavorful and delicious. This place has a very fun menu and we will be back soon to try additional items. The servers were very nice and they bring out chips with bean dip for an appetizer which was a fun and delicious change of pace from chips and salsa. This place is very friendly for gluten free diners and items that contain gluten are clearly marked on the menu.

Came here with the family and had a wonderful time! Adrian was our server, he was so kind and helpful! He was also super knowledgeable about all the gluten free options on the menu and brought out my tacos in a separate dish! Great atmosphere, food, and drinks! Will definitely be back soon!
Quick and tasty spot featuring spicy queso, generous portions, and a simple menu perfect for airport layovers or a quick lunch.

Delicious & fast for a quick layover. Queso is incredibly spicy & creamy, and the chips are served hot. Seems like a small bag, but they’re rich, so it’s the perfect amount for 2 people. They have really great gluten-free options. The steak bowl was generous & we turned it into an epic nachos experience (for an airport it was what we needed - fast, friendly, spicy, protein & veg). The spicy hot sauce is unbelievably hot in a really good way, and the milder hot sauce is equally delicious.
A cozy hidden gem with fantastic flavors, excellent ingredients, and a warm atmosphere that keeps folks coming back for more.

Gluten free options with lettuce wrap or corn tortilla, and you can customize and get rewards on their website if you use it to order ahead. It's 1am. You're drunk/high. Velvet Taco is the only solution.
Taco Thursday shines with tasty dishes and a unique vibe, though service can be a bit slow when it's busy.

This is among the best places we visited in our time in Chicago.
Trust me, you can taste the love in the queso birria. It came out quickly with perfect char and that consume is insane.
To add, Joana was wonderful. Super attentive, had great recommendations and an infectious smile.
I would also recommend the horchata- and all gluten free to boast!
Multilingual and a great neighborhood vibe!
With a vibrant menu bursting with flavor and unique twists, this spot is a must-visit for those who crave creative, fresh dishes.

I love how gluten free friendly this place is. I don’t have celiac but I generally try my best to follow a gluten free diet, I would call ahead of time for any questions.
Food always tastes fresh and well seasoned. Slightly pricy but also expected in Chicago, and I don’t mind paying slightly higher for better quality. Pick up is an easy experience too.
Get ready for a vibrant spot with fresh, local ingredients and standout flavors that beat the ordinary—perfect for your next wholesome meal!

Love this place. Much better than Chipotle. I visited on a whim with my 4 year old niece and girlfriend and the food and service was bomb. And they’re gluten free!!!
Had dinner here and we ordered the chicken tacos - changed to lettuce wrap and the mixed seafood platter (which was served w their hand pressed corn tortillas).
Service was nice and friendly
Food was good, albeit a little salty.
The hand pressed corn tortillas are gluten free and were very delicious!
Would have been 5 stars if the food was less salty!
Experience a vibrant vegan haven with colorful artwork, tasty taco dinners, and a lively atmosphere perfect for people watching.

I enjoyed eating here. They had multiple gluten free options and the food was great. Also I have the same name as the restaurant which is funny.
The only reason I rated 4 stars instead of 5 is due to them having desert options listed on the menu but not regularly carrying most of them.
Also the chips were somewhat burnt and really not worth the price.

I come here every time I fly through Chicago - it's hard to find gluten free options at airports, but they have corn poblano for lunch and yogurt for breakfast (and most importantly, margaritas!). The bartenders have always been so friendly; it's a pleasant escape in an otherwise bustling and stressful airport.
A great spot for those who appreciate delicious meals, featuring in-house freshly squeezed lime margaritas and a supportive dining experience.

If you are gluten free, this restaurant is an incredibly helpful place to eat if you love good food. Our waiter already knew exactly how to prepare a celiac-friendly meal for my good friend, made an excellent margarita with in-house freshly squeezed limes, and the food itself was fantastic.
Highly recommend!

Tallboy Taco is an amazing place for tacos. They make their own chips, too. Very intentional with dietary needs. I am gluten-free and their on line menu is very clear about which tacos are gluten-free and vegan. The on person menu isn't quite so clear. But you can always ask or go online to check.

I absolutely love Mas Alla del Sol! Not only do they have amazing food and drink options, but they have very friendly staff as well.
The food may be a bit pricy compared to other Mexican/Latino restaurants but it's worth it.
Additionally, as someone with Celiac, I have personally never gotten sick from eating there. I highly recommend the tortilla soup and salsa verde!
Catering here is a hit for large gatherings, with punctual service and fresh, generous options that impress everyone!

Fun environment! One staff member especially deserves a gold star for assisting me. I asked them 1,000 questions, verifying that the food I ordered was gluten-free and they continuously assured me. And they were right! The rice side was very good.
Great spot for GF Mexican food!! Almost everything on the menu is or can be made gluten-free using corn tortillas. The only exceptions are quesadillas and burritos! They have a dedicated fryer for chips! The staff is very knowledgeable about the menu!
A hidden gem with a laid-back vibe on a Friday afternoon, boasting a spotless environment and a variety of corn tortilla options.

Go for the great moles and leave the rest. The masa + meat appetizer was so good! Shrimp cocktail was great and flavorful. The rest of the menu was a tad underwhelming. Margaritas are made from a premade mix (passion fruit & regular), would definitely skip the cocktails next time.
No gluten free options, chips and other fried foods are made in same fryer as the rest. Cross contamination highly likely

Liked this place. Food was very good.
Chicken tacos were soso, but carnitas was very good. I'm gluten free. I think the mole has gluten in it as I had a reaction.

This place has excellent drinks and an amazing atmosphere. I would also highly recommend their karake downstairs.
I have celiac and the staff is very helpful in letting me know what I can/cannot eat but there aren't really that many items that are not cross contaminated. This is really disappointing because Mexican food is usually one of the few food types I can go to with a group.
GLUTEN FREE VEGAN HEAVEN!!!!!!! Was so happy to finally make it to this restaurant! Very clear what is gluten free and SO MANY OPTIONS! THE STEAK TACOS WERE TO DIE FOR! Also, all of the tamales are GF, I only got to try two but the Poblano Pepper Tamale was amazing. Finally, the rice pudding was the perfect finish to my meal. Sweet but not so sweet you don't want to finish the serving...great serving size too, not to huge not too small . 10/10 recommend. On top of amazing food, the staff was so kind and helpful with recommendations. We had a fair sized order for 2 people and I decided to tip $15 bc I love what the restaurant stands for and they threw in two huge drinks (tasted like a really delicious sweet fresh drink, like the best tea you'll ever have) and a desert for my bf. Love this place and can't wait to come back

The food here was excellent! We had 2 vegans and 1 gluten-free person in our party, and we found plenty of options. The server told us almost everything was gluten-free (though I didn’t ask for ingredient lists or anything so if it’s a big concern I’d double check). Highly recommend checking this place out!

Really enjoyed the experience here :) I had the burnt ends hash and it was probably one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. I ordered with corn tortillas instead of toast because I can’t have gluten, and the tortillas were incredible. Our server was also very helpful with directing me to menu items that could be accommodated to be gluten free!
The venue has a cozy ambiance with inviting fireplaces, perfect for events and making lasting memories.

I hosted my wife’s 30th surprise party at Barcocina in west town. They were very helpful with getting me all the information I needed in a timely manner from start to finish! Our guest loved the ambiance in the event room with the 2fire places as well. The guest also loved each and every taco tray I order. I had purchased the steak, mahi mahi and bangbang shrimp. They were mostly gluten free which also was a plus because one of our guest can’t have gluten. But I want to thank Desi the event planner for helping and answering any questions I had. I highly recommend having a party at this location

Some of the best birria in town! Good prices and the food is delicious. They make their own corn tortillas and even big tortillas for quesadillas. I don't know of any other place that makes huge tortillas that size. A plus for gluten free options. A must try if you're in the neighborhood.
