The food was fantastic. We ordered 2 different crepes but with buckwheat as one of us have celiacs. They took the allergy seriously which was much appreciated and the food was much better than we expected considering they were suing buckwheat as the alternative. Will definitely be eating here again when we visit. Loved that they are open a little late so when you’re in more of a breakfast for dinner mood they have options available.

great experience, every time! i’ve been going here pretty consistently for a few years, and the food and service has always stood out to me. i’m gluten and nut free, and they are very accommodating and willing to help you out. the food is also amazing- the best burger i’ve had!

Wow! Amazing food, we got the tacos on the specials menu, and the corn tortillas were homemade and the best I’ve had. We also Got chips, salsa, and queso which were very good, loved the homemade chips! And great margaritas as well! Highly recommend. Plus many gluten free options!

Have been here several times, the menu does change somewhat for different events/ time of year, there’s a consistent offering that is always available so keep an eye out for those temporary offerings. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff has always been very friendly and welcoming no matter if it’s packed or slow. This place can become packed so wait times for seating and service can suffer but the staff tries their best to accommodate, they are always willing to answer any questions or address any concerns. There are some limited gluten free accommodations. Lots of cheap public parking nearby, assortment of on street/off street and garages- look for the big blue P signs if you’re not using your google maps. Shout out to our server Oliva, that chocolate mousse was awesome, thanks again for the great service! 👏 👏 👏

We shared the samosas, shrimp curry🍤, Malia korma, lamb🐑 and another vegetarian meal. 🥗 We asked for gluten-free and vegan meals. We shared shrimp curry, 🍤 a lamb dish, samosas 🐑 vegetable dish, 🥗 and makai korma. Everything was delicious!! 🤤 Bonus: individual washrooms but no changing table. One appears to have safety bars. Binary labels but one can use whichever one they want. Individual toilets without diaper changing table. Binary labels but you can use any. Double bonus: pencils, 🖍️ newspaper, 📰 magazines, plants galore, 🪴 art 🖼️ and you can leave your story on their bulletin board! I’ve lived in Burlington for many years and ordered from them more times than I can count from sheer necessity (very sensitive gluten allergy), but I have never wished more strongly I could have a better option. They have done everything from sending the wrong pizza to double charging me for a pizza (that I never got a refund for despite leaving a message, talking to someone on the phone “while the owner wasn’t in” and emailing), being able to place an order while they were unexpectedly closed, and tonight was just such a frustrating straw on the camels back. Not only do they charge $4.22 for being gluten free, but I paid $21 for a build your own pizza with pesto that had max 2 teaspoons of pesto and otherwise was basically the most expensive cracker I’ve ever bought. At this point I think I’d actually rather risk cross contamination than deal with their unprofessionalism and at best decent but horrifically overpriced food again. The most frustrating part is that when that ordering while closed incident happened I got a very heartfelt apology call from a manager so I KNOW they have at least one person invested in doing this well, and that’s the only reason I’ve even lasted this long but one person is clearly not enough to hold this ship together.

My husband and I were originally going to get take out, but when we walked in we liked the atmosphere so much that we decided to dine in and couldn’t have been happier! The service was awesome, the menu was extensive and had SO many gluten free options and the food was amazing! 10/10 will be back!

The Gryphon is a GEM. Earlier in the day it is quiet, reliably open (this is special in VT), and attentively and knowledgeably staffed (you will adore Alex; his incredible experience is evident in how he tends to each guest). The food is comforting and so impressively well executed, you'd think the chef should be on the Food Network. Who doesn't love an approachable and concise menu of items they know how to do well every time?!?! The environment is a perfect balance of old world class meets comfortable open lounge with creatively delicious cocktails and staff committed to finding the perfect meal or drink even if an adjustment is going to help you enjoy the experience better based on your personal flavor/food/ingredient preferences. My partner and I cannot eat gluten (not celiac) and are infinitely appreciative of a well done menu with GF options readily available. I wish I had known about The Gryphon before living in downtown BTV because it would have been a worthy destination for a friend gathering, however, better late than never, and I am very thankful and fulfilled every time I visit!
