On a date night, we popped in for some small plates to share with a glass of fizz. I've never been a fan of the hipster-themed dining experience but that's just personal preference. The place was very quiet for a Friday afternoon/evening and for some reason we were seated as far away from the door as was possible, right next to the window (lovely for people-watching on the Hayes) but also right next to the blinds' drawstring, and at some point a server came to pull the blinds down - we protested - and had to lean over my partner to reach. Anyway, apart from that the table was nice, service was quick. My partner has food intolerances and is a careful eater. We asked the server about their food and he wasn't certain, and had to go to the kitchen several times to check. Even when we thought he had it straight he kept coming back to check and recheck he understood our requirements, which is surely diligent but was bordering on fussy, and it became quite awkward for us, to the point we just said not to worry. We then had a manager come across to check again, and eventually managed to find three dishes from the gluten free menu which had neither soya or dairy in them. The food was decent, but the experience was uncomfortable. I can't fault the servers for triple-checking they had the info correct. I do wish it had taken maybe two or three trips to the kitchen fewer to establish the facts! Still, nice quiet meal, lovely view (when the blinds were up), a nice place to be for a couple of hours.

So happy we found the Juno Lounge while visiting Cardiff. We ate 3 meals there in 2 days! Great options for celiac and other dietary restrictions. Everything was delicious (curry bowl and brisket chili were highlights). Fun vibe and friendly staff. Thanks for the wonderful meals!

As with many Lounges this is a must visit! They have an extensive gluten free menu. The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful. Always order at the bar to ensure they can put it through as an allergy order.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Bill's in Cardiff Bay. We turned up without a reservation and despite the place being quite busy, we were seated promptly and drinks orders taken quickly. I'm Coeliac which means boring gluten free dining, but in Bill's there is a whole gf menu so I didn't feel left out. I had the Fish Pie and Banoffee Sundae, both of which were different from usual gf options. They also did a gf IPA which I wasn't very keen on but nice to have the option. We were served by Gabriel. He's an absolute treasure. If you're gf, you should deffo give the place a try!

Our first time visiting here, staff were friendly and as we arrived a lot early for our booking we sat outside and ordered drinks. A table became available and so we were seated quickly. Unfortunately only one cider was gluten free which was no good for myself. Food on the other hand had several gluten free options which meant I had plenty of choice. The food came and tasted amazing and I will definitely be visiting again I just really hope there's more choice for beer for those with celiac disease. My other criticism is staff were so busy trying to get you to pay to leave so they could free up the table and neglected to show you the card machine screen so you could double check the bill was correct apart from that it was a great experience.

Recently stayed at a Marriott hotel in Cardiff which was very pleasant but the breakfast experience was excellent. I am coeliac and asked Paula to help me with gluten free options. She was amazing and talked me through all the options and made sure I had everything I needed. She did it in a friendly way making me completely confident in what I was ordering. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Service & Welcoming Atmosphere at Hodo Lounge! I visited Hodo Lounge last night with my partner, four friends, and two dogs, and we had an absolutely wonderful time! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, but what really made the experience stand out was the incredible service from Ryan behind the bar. I have a severe banana allergy, and one of my friends has celiac disease, so we’re always cautious when dining out. Ryan was exceptionally attentive to our dietary restrictions, ensuring we felt comfortable and safe while also being genuinely friendly and easy to chat with. I ordered the standard Lounge Brunch without tomatoes, and Ryan went the extra mile by offering to swap them for something else. I chose mushrooms for my partner, which was a thoughtful touch. I also ordered the large Lounge Brunch for myself with the same adjustment and got an extra hash brown instead—small details like this make a big difference! For drinks, my partner had a Diet Coke while I ordered a Daceri Nolarder (alcohol-free). Two of my friends also got the same drink and really enjoyed it, but I found it wasn’t quite to my taste. When Ryan checked in with us after a few minutes, I mentioned this, and without hesitation, he asked if there was something else I’d prefer. I requested a peppermint tea, and to my surprise, he brought it out free of charge—a really kind and thoughtful gesture. Beyond the excellent service, the food was great, the atmosphere was relaxed, and we all felt incredibly welcome—including the dogs! It’s rare to find staff who not only accommodate dietary needs so attentively but also go out of their way to make sure every guest has a fantastic experience. We’re already looking forward to coming back, and we’ll definitely be recommending Hodo Lounge—especially thanks to Ryan’s outstanding hospitality.

I required a gluten free afternoon tea and the staff provided me with a lovely selection. The venue has a great nostalgic feel. The staff are very accommodating and helpful. Slight miscommunication, but that was as much my error as theirs. When I booked I explained that I was gluten free but that my daughter wasn't. I assumed we would get half and half gf and ordinary but everything was gf. This was fine for me but not so good for my daughter. The staff member who served us offered to make her some ordinary sandwiches but she didn't like to cause a fuss at that point. We both enjoyed the breakfast tea. We had the whole of the upstairs to ourselves which felt quite special too. I will definately go again and I would recommend to others as a great place to go with good quality food and helpful friendly staff.

We went here because the online menu has clearly labelled vegan options, which were replicated on the printed menu we were given, once seated. However, when I started to discuss which dishes were vegan with our server, he said they offer vegetarian, but not vegan food. I pointed out their key at the front of the menu that indicated veggie/vegan/gluten free options. He said he'd worked there for 3 years and nobody had ever asked for vegan food. After going to check with a chef, he returned to inform us the chef could make vegetarian dishes but couldn't guarantee that any would be vegan, despite what the menu said. We thanked him for his honesty and left without ordering. I fully support any restaurant's right to not provide dishes to suit specialist requirements but it bothers me that the menu offers apparently false reassurances of dietary options that aren't reflected by the serving staff nor the chefs.

Gluten-free (coeliac) heaven. Loved the food. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Delicious food. And we could bring our little dog. We had smoked salmon starter, pumpkin and porcine mushroom pasta (gluten-free) and gluten-free cheesecake. Fantastic.

100% Gluten Free Coffee shop Huge range of delicious cakes, blondies, brownies, cupcakes, cheesecakes including a wide range of plant based also! You can order breakfast, brunch and lunch options from porridge, avocado on toast, panini's with a choice of gorgeous fillings. it's absolute heaven! I am a regular here as it's just so refreshing to feel so safe and have such choice!

This pub catered for our family meal so well. Amongst our party are omnivores, vegetarians, vegans, gluten free, nut allergies, dairy free- a challenge, in other words! But everyone got a meal that met their needs, and was most enjoyable. Well done! Brilliant! Highly recommended.

Oh my goodness probably the best pizza we had! Staff were so lovely and helpful discussing diatery requirements, going through the whole menu. Some of the best gluten free pizza! They asked about celiac but I am not sure if they can cater or not.

I'm extremely disappointed in this restaurant. The quality of the food is not at level you would expect for the supposed calibre of the establishment. The food I must describe as 'subpar' and the service was inadequate. One example was my request for a simple diet coke 3 times. The drink finally arrived after 30 minutes. Two dishes were left uneaten due to the poor quality. It was clear that one of the sushi dishes were not fresh. My wife is celiac and cannot eat Gluten. When we enquired about their steaks being cooked, the response was quite a shock... "The meats are not prepares on site, they are marinated in their London restaurant and shipped to the Cardiff restaurant". I was utterly astounded by this comment. I have never know such a highly regarded restaurant to not prepare their ingredients fresh in their own kitchen. I find this appalling! Needless to say, we won't be visiting again.

Super busy when we went, but the staff were *EXCEPTIONAL* regardless of how stressful it must have been. As a table for 6 we were kindly warned about the wait time but were given our drinks speedily and our food came out within the time frame they gave us. It was also a dream as a coeliac! I adored the chicken club sandwich (a beast of a sandwich. good luck trying to take a bite without having to dismantle all the layers.) I highly recommend this gem. 5/5 and thank you to the girls and their amazing service. :)

Went on a Sunday so food nice and fresh. Catered well for allergies. Served food straight from kitchen to avoid cross contamination. Served some veg plain without cheese etc to make it dairy and gluten free. Enjoyed meal and would go back. Good choice of drinks. Vegetarian gravy was dairy and gluten free. 👍

Service very good with a varied selection of mezes. Atmopshere relaxed . For those who have food intolerance ( gluten etc) , advice needed when choosing from menu as this is not made clear. However, just ask and all will be explained. Enjoyable experience

Catering review 2023: I have had the opportunity to try food from various catering companies, but Pink Kiwi has truly raised the bar and exceeded all expectations! Let's talk about the food itself... it was absolutely AMAZING! Without a doubt, Pink Kiwi is the best catering option in Cardiff. The combination of quality and price is unbeatable! As the event organiser, there was nothing more satisfying than seeing our guests thoroughly relishing the food. It was a true delight! The sandwiches they prepared were on a whole new level. The chicken tikka and hummus/carrot sandwiches received numerous "WOWs" from everyone who tried them. The flavors were outstanding and left a lasting impression. Now, let's discuss the desserts. Wow, just wow! The red velvet cake balls and lemon drizzle cake received rave reviews from our guests. Each bite was met with sheer delight and the flavors were absolutely divine. The savory menu was equally impressive. The meatballs, samosas, pizza, pasta, salad, and sausage rolls vanished within minutes! The level of satisfaction was evident with each "WOW" and the sound of contentment echoed through the venue. People couldn't help but exclaim "mmm" with every mouthful of the menu items. It was a true feast for the senses. I must also highlight the success of the gluten-free and halal menu. Our guests with specific dietary requirements were extremely pleased with the variety and taste of the options available to them (sandwiches, savoury snacks and desserts) Pink Kiwi went above and beyond to ensure everyone's needs were met. Great sandwiches on a gluten free bun, great service (the ladies behind the counter were super nice), and the park is beautiful. Stop by for lunch and you won't be disappointed. You can get smoothies, we got the hulk which has broccoli in it and is surprisingly delicious. They have lots of sandwiches, I liked the coronation chicken on a gluten free bun. The regular sandwich roll is a delicious looking baguette, my son loved the ham and cheese. They also have ice pops and hand scooped icecream and an espresso machine! The park in cardiff is amazing and you can spend the whole day here without leaving, stop and get lunch here!

The best food I've had in ages - authentic quality Thai food cooked from scratch. Pim (the chef) also cooked requested dish of morning glory, as well as being able to make everything gluten free. Cosy and homely restaurant with a unique atmosphere, it was lovely chatting with Pim who is clearly a talented musician as well as chef ! Next time we’ll be going when we have more time to spend of an evening.

My girlfriend and I had a difficult time here this evening. We were seated upstairs. Despite me putting it on the booking reservation form, the waiter had no idea about what was gluten free on the menu. He then roughly made a guess at what he didn't think contained it before we agreed he should get the allergen menu. He then came back upstairs after checking and told me he didn't bring it because it was "too complicated" and that he would just tell me what is gluten free or not. By this point, you must appreciate I couldn't put my trust 100% in him. I appreciate that you cannot guarantee something being totally gluten free, but I think even a small indication on the menu should be implemented. Accidentally eating gluten can be really dangerous for some people and I think having a greater awareness among FOH staff would go a long way. The menu formatting was difficult too. There were drinks menus on the table but no food menus- just one big one upstairs out of view of most customers. The food itself was lovely and although it took a while, we expected it to because of how busy it can get. I'm sorry to leave this review. I wanted to have a good time, but the lack of awareness around a prominent allergen in the menu is concerning.

It wasn’t super busy when we came in. The coffee was great and they also had gluten free and vegan option. I almost tripped on the way in because I didn’t see the step. And toilet was a little confusing to me. I’ve never seen a handle that’s a lock at the same time. So it took me about a minute to figure out that it’s not broken but used to lock the door 😂 funky toilet paper that you can also buy in store.

I'm actually vegan & GF. They don't serve a GF base (this is a pic of their non-GF pizza), but I took my own GF base, and they dressed it with vegan cheeze- like any regular margherita! Charged me a bit under a usual price because I'd brought my own base, too. ● If you're Coeliac, it still wouldn't be good to eat here as they warn of cross contaminatin. But if you're just intolerant (like me) it's all good 👍

Enjoyed a delicious meal to celebrate a friend's birthday. Everyone who works here is so welcoming, polite and helpful. The food did not disappoint and was packed with flavour. Lots of the meals are gluten free (which I have to have) and there are good veggie selections. My friend opted for the Syrian Pidi duck to start and I chose the pan-seared scallops. We had the obligatory tasting of each other's and decided it was all lovely! For mains we decided on Chef Anand's tiffin signature sea bass which was perfectly cooked and we enjoyed the thoran veggie side dish to accompany which was recommended by our waiter. Together with a lovely fruity chenin blanc, this was a beautifully presented and super-tasty meal which was reasonably priced, all in chilled out, stylish surroundings with a relaxed vibe. Well recommended!
