This is always our first stop for lunch when we get to HHI each summer. Last Saturday, 8/3, they were down staff and had a busy lunch crowd. We watched both waitresses absolutely hustle the entire time to make sure everyone continued to have exceptional service. They were both so personable and took time to chat with us even though they were slammed. They even went above and beyond in still making a gluten-free version of their banana cream pudding for me, which I know took extra time and effort. We’ve loved Low Country for years because the food is always amazing, but this year, the service was equally as impressive. Thanks for always taking care of your customers and making one of the best gluten-free desserts on the island!
A fantastic spot with great parking, delicious drinks, and a standout burger, perfect for a casual evening out.

My wife and I ate dinner at Fraser’s at 6:00 on a Monday evening in November. Plenty of parking, food was PERFECT, and drinks were delicious. My wife is gluten free and there are many options.
I recommend the ceasar salad and house old fashioned. The burgers were also amongst the best I have ever had…no hyperbole!
Thank you Mahalia for the excellent service!

We visited here while vacationing in Hilton Head. We can’t say enough great things about this quaint little spot. Food was excellent, just the right size portions, phenomenal service. Quick service! Each and every worker was personable and eager to assist. Someone named Tommy (possibly the owner) came around during our meal to ask how everything was. We didn’t leave a crumb on our plate.
Also, side note. I am gluten free and they had both gluten free toast and GF pancakes.
A job well done by this local small business!
Great service. Explained the details of each entree. They were attentive to the dietary needs of a diner with celiac disease. Everything was delicious. We would definitely return
Experience southern charm with an outstanding wine selection and a cozy vibe, making it a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy great times.

Stopped in for a couple of glasses of wine. Did not eat, but rated a 4 based on prior visits. They have a nice gluten free menu with excellent selections. Wedge salad is a favorite along with the shrimp and grits.
Wine selection is outstanding. I decided to take a quick glance at the wine menu before walking around and viewing the wine not listed on the menu. I noticed a nice super tuscan, which I always enjoy along with the extra alcohol content.
Service was excellent and we were checked on periodically.
Enjoyed the wine and time well spent. Plan to return soon for dinner.
Casual vibes, cozy atmosphere, and fresh homemade Italian dishes make this spot a must for a satisfying dining experience!

This was our first time dining at Cafe Al Dente and had a wonderful evening. The restaurant itself is not very large but it is a very nice room and well decorated. We had the Panko Fried Mozzarella Stack for an appetizer and it was delicious. One of us also got the warm salad and it was amazing. For dinner my wife had the Eggplant Parmigiana and my mother who is gluten free also had the gluten free version and both loved it. I personally had the Chicken Parmigiana and it was ok but a bit overcooked and dry. The service was fantastic and our server Amanda was so good helping my mother with the gluten free options. Overall a great experience and will definitely be back.
Experience a beautifully decorated spot with soothing music and attentive service, perfect for a delightful gathering.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Two members of our party were gluten-free and they were able to accommodate in the hibachi dinner. The gluten-free people enjoyed a miso soup and the chef used gluten-free soy sauce and cooked their food first.
The Yum Yum sauce and the ginger salad dressing were also gluten-free. The only part of the experience they weren’t able to enjoy was the ginger dipping sauce.
The group got filet mignon, shrimp, steak, chicken, and calamari and all enjoyed their proteins.
An off-the-beaten-track gem known for its excellent value, remarkable in-house made sauces and jams, quick service, and convenient front parking.

This place is a true gem. The service is always super friendly and the food is sooo good. I would place the Road Runner Panini as one of, if not the absolute best sandwich in the area! (The house made ranch is absolutely essential for dipping, btw!). My wife is gluten free and they have a nice selection of GF crepes, as well as some GF baked goods. The GF almond cookies are amazing! Definitely worth checking out for breakfast or lunch when you're in the area.
Came with a group; pre-ordered “grilled fish of the day”. It was fish cakes!!!! Fish cakes are not “grilled” and it was not a piece of fish, as I expected. It was some sort of flaked fish filled with breading and that could have been very dangerous as some people are seriously affected by gluten products. Plus it was not grilled as anticipated. It was sautéed. I thought better of Charlie’s; I was very unhappy with my entree. I would have spoken to the manager but it was a busy day and didn’t want to make a fuss but I have thought about it since my return home and needed to let people know. I felt they took the “cheap” way out. Obviously fish cakes are not the same price point as grilled fish which is what I thought I was getting. The waitstaff did a fine job and the restaurant is as beautiful as ever, all decorated for the holidays. It is not the quality I expected, especially because it was pretty expensive to boot.
Experience a stunning outdoor veranda with expertly paired wines and beautifully presented dishes that elevate your dining experience.

I have Celiac, a gluten allergy. The manager, Mark Bowman and Chef Lloyd Alberson went above and beyond to make sure I was safe. We started with the tuna tartare and a bowl of lump crab soup. Beautifully presented and very tasty. For entrees, I had a perfectly cooked ribeye and my wife had the halibut. Delicious! The manager is also the sommelier for the restaurant and he was knowledgeable about pairing wines for us. We sat outside on the veranda and enjoyed the fresh air. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I have dined with CQ's many times over the last 15+ years and never disappointed. It was an early dinner with a 5 year old, so how much atmosphere can a person handle. The restaurant was busy, but it was calm and peaceful, which was good after being in the sun for most of the day. Take away the 5 year old, allow me 30 minutes to throw back 5 shots of tequila, and we have a totally different ballgame.
Appetizers consisted of calamari and a shrimp cocktail for me. I have celiac and must adhere to a gluten-free diet. Thanks to all those on a gluten-free diet that is not required. Provides better products and more options, so keep eating gluten-free. Apologies, both of the appetizers were good. The shrimp cocktail was extra special when compared to the one from a few nights earlier while diving at a different restaurant. For some reason, any day that I have spent a long period of time in the sun, I crave a cold wedge salad, and it was on point. The chicken fingers and fries were rated 5 lipsticks, based upon the Barbie scale, which I was unfamiliar with until the rating. I was informed that the filet and potato pancake were excellent. I would estimate that 80% of the time that I select the pork chop. Always cooked perfectly and outstanding. The only issue I personally have is the Bourbon glazed apples listed as part of the dinner. As we all know, bourbon mash is made from corn, wheat, rye, and malted barley. Except for the corn, the other ingredients are not gluten-free. It could be that some people are not impacted, or maybe when the apples are glazed, the ppm drops below the measurement threshold. I have no idea and am highly sensitive, so stay away at all costs. I once read that double distilled scotch is fine for celiac, and though triple distilled should be even better. I will only say that the scotch experiment did not work out so well.
Staff is great. Servers are attentive without being overbearing and are knowledgeable of the menu and dietary constraints.
Great meal paired with a nice Barolo, and of course, what goes best with chicken tenders? Shirley Temple!!
Now that I live a couple of miles away, please order more pork. I shall return soon.
A stunning venue that set the scene for a magical wedding dinner, creating unforgettable memories with great service.

Amber and the wait staff were wonderful. Had the best time for my wedding dinner. Everything was beautiful. The only thing I wish there was more of is gluten-free options. I highly recommend Elas, they made us feel very special.

My girlfriend has a gluten allergy, so it is nice when we find places that really accommodate, New York Pizza doesn't just offer a handful, but over half of their menu can be asked to supply a gluten free varient, pizza, pasta and more. She tried the pizza and it was delicious. I had normal spaghetti and meatballs and it was also delicious. It is a little more pricy but well worth it. Thank you New York City Pizza!
Palmetto Bay SunRise Cafe is one of our favorite breakfast restaurants. It is our "must go" place each time we return to Hilton Head Island.
The majority of seating for the restaurant is on the veranda of the building. There are roll-down covers for really unpleasant weather, but most mornings offer a delightful dining experience to start the day.
Their Eggs Benedict are outstanding, whether Crab Cake, Smoked Salmon, Shrimp & Spinach, or the daily special. All are enticing.
Our gluten sensitive found plenty of options, whether a Benedict without muffin, omelette with hash browns, or (my favorite) Shrimp Hash with poached egg and Hollandaise.
While you may have someone take your order, EVERYONE on staff checks in on you, refills drinks, and makes sure that your visit is the best it could be.
If you can, come before 8 to be seated quickly, because everyone else loves this place too!
Flavorful dishes that stand out on your trip, but tables could use some extra space for all the goodness.

We ate here last night and each of us had one of the best meals of our trip! Everything is flavorful and not just spicy but has actual flavor. Only complaint is that the tables need to be bigger to accommodate more plates. They do have a gluten free menu which is so helpful, would be nice to see more vegetarian gluten free options. The fajitas should come with beans and rice like everywhere else. Salmon should also come with beans. Service was great.
With amazing takeout options perfect for game nights and a reputation for quality, this spot is a must-try for a satisfying meal.

New York City Pizza never disappoints. Whether we are ordering pizza, wings, subs or one of its fabulous dinner entrees, we know we will be having a fabulous meal. When we have friends over to watch a game or movie, NY City pizza is our go to place for takeout - especially since one our friends is gluten-free. Just as important as the quality of the food, the service is just as high quality.
Delicious! Not too expensive either. Great service for curbside pickup. Even made some dishes that weren't on the menu and carefully made a gluten free for one of our kids. Great restaurant!
With a prime waterfront location and comfy seating, this spot guarantees a fantastic vibe for everyone, perfect for a memorable outing.

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY I REPEAT DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY
We came here with a party of 6; 4 had a gluten allergy, one of which also had a dairy allergy. Our waiter greeted our table, then didn’t come back for 15 minutes. When he came back to take our order, our waiter said point blank “I don’t know what gluten is, whatever you told me to take away I will (i.e. no croutons) and I’ll tell the kitchen.”
Our server was very sweet and attentive, just un -informed and poorly trained on allergies.
One of the managers was alerted, and when he came over he asked us to confirm our orders. I am not exaggerating when I say he rolled his eyes at us and said “I’ll deal with it.” He then ASKED US who our server was, and when we came with a generic description, he said “was it the old guy?” (High key age discrimination!!)
The gluten/dairy free salad came out with the gluten full dressing on the side, which then had to be re-made with the appropriate dressing (please note: the only adjustments were to take off the croutons and to change the dressing to olive oil/vinaigrette). This salad took 20 minutes to come out.
When the same manager was informed that there was an issue, he blamed the server and said that “he didn’t say there was an allergy”…buddy you literally came over to confirm our allergies. Then they sent a female manager over, who brought out the correct salad. I informed her of how inappropriate and rude the male manager’s behavior was, and she apologized.
Absolutely the worst service we’ve had with an allergy. We’ve been coming to this island for 25 years, and this was our first time at Scott’s Fish Market. We will not be back.

I had a great time at the Blue Bar and Restaurant at the Hilton Beachfront Resort & Spa! The burger was delicious, and the gluten-free bun was top-notch—a perfect option for those with dietary needs. The crab bisque was another highlight: rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, topped with generous lump crab meat. The drinks were on point, too! This place is a fantastic late-night spot, especially when you’re hanging out on vacation. I’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend!
