This place was awesome! I have celiac and to order gluten free the manager comes and takes the order and then the meal is prepared in a separate kitchen. I felt very safe eating here. I also did not get sick. Would definitely dine here again

For a single visit it was ok.
The value was low. I ended up with over $160+ with tip for 6. I know that's typical for tourist areas but I think the experience was soured by a few things for that cost.
- raccoons bothered us. I think one actually crawled near table and touched ankle making person at our table jump. Nothing else after that but that they were so brazen ruined the novelty.
- they were out of chicken, a big part of their meals, out of hush puppies, out of mac and cheese, and more. I get it it happens.
- then asked about the waffles and they said they could do it but without fried chicken so it would still be $22+ for two small waffles. This was where it felt like service was just not great. No attempt to find a solution, allow on side order, or substitute. I had to suggest maybe substitute fish and then they said ok. Probably a tired server, but still just no effort so with everyone exhausted we made do with what we could find on menu.
The portions weren't great for the fried fish plate and turkey plate but the burger was huge.
Charge extra for splitting a plate for you. ($7.99 or so)
So overall I think the place is ok but the value, potion sizes, effort from staff, and such just made me feel there are other places I'd rather visit for such a high cost.
We all have rough days so maybe you'll have better luck if visiting for gluten-free / celiac purposes.
This spot, tucked in a strip mall, impresses with its vibrant seasonal sides and attentive service, making it a local favorite for a good reason!

We were regulars at the NSB McKenna's for years but recently moved from New Smyrna closer to Daytona so we finally tried the Port Orange McKenna's. It's one of our favorite places in New Smyrna (we'd usually go at least once a month) so we had high expectations. The menus are very similar and most of our regulars were there. While I had never been to Port Orange McKenna's the spot itself is very nostalgic because I grew up in Port Orange and went there for years when it was Beef O Brady's. Anyway, over all the food was good. They did accidentally make me the gluten free chicken which were definitely not as good as the regular chicken tenders but I understand things happen. They offered to remake them but I didn't want them to be out on the cost of the first batch. The Gouda cheese is something I've order for years with my fries at the NSB location but I didn't personally like the one at the Port Orange location, my fiance did. Again these are all understandable things. The main issue for us was being told we could substitute a cup of soup as a side and then being charged an extra $6 for it without our consent. When the bill came we explained the soup shouldn't be any additional charge as it was included as a side with one of our meals per the first waitress who took our order (she actually went out of her way to suggest we didn't get more fries which is what we had actually asked for). The second waitress said no that was not correct we now owe an additional $6. I was really frustrated at this point and I explained then we did not get a side with one of our meals at all. Additionally we would not have ordered the soup at all as an al a cart item, we were told it was included which is why we ordered it. She made no attempt to make it right what so ever. Outwardly the entire ordeal has an appearance of dishonesty however I know this was not the intention. This should not be the way customers are handled during a misunderstanding caused by the restaurant. We will for sure not be regulars at this location like we had hoped.
An inviting gem with a stunning atmosphere, great service, and an impressive selection of options that cater to diverse dietary needs.

First time here 2.15.2025. Greeted by our server, Paige. She was good - did important things like keeping the water filled and involving Brandi the manager when we mentioned my wife had severe gluten allergy/must eat gluten free. The food and the atmosphere (sitting on the water with a nice breeze, waves crashing, and beautiful design aesthetics at the restaurant), literally couldn't have been better. For that I kind of understand why the food takes a while to come out (we were there about 30 mins before we received our apps) - it's an experience and you don't want to rush. At least I hope that is why it took so long. :) The price of the meal was expected since we had lobster, apps, crab cakes, and the wonderful location. We paid about $65/pp without alcohol and dessert. We will be back.
Upscale and cozy vibe with delicious seafood, indoor and outdoor seating, and a great atmosphere that'll keep you coming back for more!

I can not say enough good things about this place! I have celiac disease so it’s hard for me to eat at restaurants most of the time, but our server was wonderful she was very knowledgeable about my allergy and brought me a dedicated gf menu. We went on a Friday night and sat upstairs our server was exceptional. I was able to have fried shrimp from a dedicated gluten free fryer that were so amazing I could cry…Seriously! The shrimp were large, fresh, and very well seasoned. Don’t miss an opportunity to eat here!

Atmosphere, food, service was all exquisite. They were able to accommodate my mom and my brother in laws diet restrictions. Super celiac friendly! My husband and I shared the ribeye and the seafood fries. They both were amazing! The oysters were really good as someone who is used to PNW oysters from my home. They are hard to beat. We had a big group and our waiter was so sweet. Would love to come again if I'm ever back in town.

A surprising amount of gluten free options. Actually sandwiches! Not "gluten free sandwich = wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun," actual gluten free buns and bread. I got a fish sandwich and fries and they were absolutely delicious. As a celiac, I'm always weary of eating out and getting contaminated but I had zero bad reactions after eating here.
The location is wonderful, right on the pier. Sea views out of every window. Wonderful sea breeze on the terrace. Great tunes and very friendly personable servers. Really fun place to eat some delicious food!

I had a fantastic dining experience at Peg Leg Pete's on Pensacola Beach. The service was exceptional—our waitress was not only attentive but also incredibly helpful, making sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. My wife has food allergies, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate her needs, ensuring a completely gluten-free meal without any issues.
The food itself was wonderful. Portions were generous, and the presentation was appealing, adding to the overall experience. A very good GF experience ever! The amount of safe gf food options was incredible and most of the menu could be made gf. The food wasn’t an A+ maybe more like a B+ but you get so many options, very safe food and very accommodating staff. Views of the ocean as well. Highlight of the meal was getting a brownie sundae, peach cobbler, banana pudding and blueberry cheesecake all GF for the table to all split.

They advertise gluten free options. On the menu it looked fantastic with all the different choices for gluten free. But then we noticed almost everything had soy sauce in it, so I asked if the soy sauce was gluten free. Nope. So most everything was labeled wrong. This isn’t a special diet, but due to celiac’s disease and it is WRONG for a restaurant to say that something is gluten free when it’s not.
What they did make for us was not very good at all. There are better options around this area.

This place exceeded expectations. Excellent food, drinks and service. We started with raw clams and spicy margaritas and then had two pasta dishes for entrees. My partner is gluten free and they offer gluten free pasta which was great! Everything tasted and was presented beautifully. Serving sizes were very generous - I took at least half my entree home! Our server was friendly, professional and quick. We will be back!

We stopped in here on night 1 looking for some gluten free options with our party.. so many great options available. For myself, I had the shrimp scampi and it was so good we brought a party of 15 back the next evening and had a great time! The calamari and bruschetta appetizers were also very good. CJ was our server the first night and he was great. Thanks for a good experience while in Clearwater beach all the way from AZ.

Best meal I've had in a long time!
Great place! Loved all the seating options. We ate outside on the closed off street. Lots of stuff to look at inside and it was fun just walking to the hostess stand from the back parking lot.
Fun cocktail menu. We got a Pearflower w/St. Germaine liquor and an El Diablo w/jalapeños & tajin. I tried some of a Honey Apple Crisp(?) that was also quite tasty. Tons of beer & wine offerings as well.
Exceptional food quality. Super professional staff. Great place for special diets. Good place for kids. Outside is dog friendly.
Very excited about their gluten-free menu. The server accommodated my special requests no problem ... But didn't write anything down. The Thai Salad I ordered off the GF menu came out with crispy wonton crunchies on top. When I asked the (very professional) food runner if it was GF, he just said they told him bring the Thai Salad to our table.
Since the crispy wonton wrappers could easily have been GF crispy delights, I ate one. After all, I DID order it off the GF menu and DID explain I had Celiac disease and what that is.
It tasted too good. (If my food had actually been gluten free, it would have been a 5-star experience.) The waiter came to check on us, apologized, took the salad back & brought a new one. When the GF salad was NOT GF, I should have asked if the dressing had soy sauce in it but ... I did get an immediate reaction in my mouth from the glutens. Still waiting on the gut reaction.
We got the African Curry w/cauliflower crisps. My wheat-allergic sistuh ate them w/no problems, but I was sus and only took a bite.
The Surf& Turf was cooked perfectly. Scallops & shrimp were absolutely perfect. Steak was delectable & melt-in-your-mouth texture. 5 stars on that!
Got the lamb kabobs & grilled oysters for appetizers. Also cooked to perfection. Just great dinner, despite being poisoned every so briefly.

You can’t do anything better than this place. We go every time we are on 30a and are never disappointed. The outside area is magical, so ask to be seated outside. Everything about this place is great except the prices. Food was great. Portions were stingy. If you are going to charge $20 for a pizza it had better be loaded. 9$ for a small snifter of kombucha? $58 for two skimpy 14” pizzas, lemonade, and kombucha. Also up charged for gluten free 2$. Come on. Seriously? Then add 12$ to tip the waitress what she absolutely deserved. $70 for lunch. Do not appreciate the gouge.

First of all, wow. Just wow this place is amazing. I lived in Italy and have traveled around Europe and this place genuinely has the atmosphere of being abroad. Also, I have a severe gluten allergy and not only did this place have so many amazing gluten free options, but our server, Boris, took time to make sure everything was prepared in a safe manor and explain to me the gluten free options. Having lived on the Emerald Coast several years ago (before being celiac), the Back Porch was always a hit! Now, it still lives up to that reputation!
Clearly marked GF menu online, and a good selection of options.
Seafood Nachos can be an entree+ all by itself, fresh Gulf seafood including shrimp, Mahi Mahi, Red Snapper, Amberjack, etc.
Several sides are available GF, baked potato is delicious.
For sandwiches, they offer an Udi bun with NO up-charge!!
