Sweet family-owned place to stop for a bite to eat. They have a lovely little bakery full of homemade sweets, and a restaurant with some great German dishes. They also have gluten free options, which I greatly appreciated.
A word of advice for anybody going, they do charge extra for credit card. Since they're a small business, they get charged for every credit card fee, so, to subsize that fee for themselves, they add a fee to your bill if you pay by credit card. So, if you can, use debit or cash - and you won't be charged extra.

My fiance and I often frequent this place since it's so close to home. We try to go early in the evening to avoid the crowds, since it can, and it will, get very loud in there. And, they close pretty early, considering they're a pub. I appreciate that there's gluten free options, and I've never had an issue with it actually being GF. But the food can be hit or miss. Occasionally, the burgers will be burnt, other times, they'll be perfect. Sometimes the Spinach dip is soupy, other times, it's heavenly. The fish can be great, other times, it's cold. But the staff are always great to us, and we've never had an issue with our service. I thoroughly enjoy the cocktails (the peachy tea is my favourite!) and my fiance sometimes enjoys his beer - once again, hit or miss.

When I brought this to the attention of the restaurant I was told we will make sure you get it next time. I find it utterly ridiculous that to order a gluten free sandwich, I have to pay the same price as a regular sandwich but I am getting served half the amount of food. It is bad enough when restaurants charge extra money just for someone to eat a gluten free bun, but to be asking for that much money for that little food is disrespectful. Eating gluten free for many people isn't an optional lifestyle choice. It is medically necessary, and we shouldn't have to break the bank to eat out. What this is is ableism based in capitalism.
The food here is sub par for the price I am paying. There are a few things that are definitely good enough that maybe the price is okay, but the vast majority is not.
The kindness and skill of the staff is the one redemptive quality of the establishment. They are excellent servers and baristas. Every employee I interacted with was delightful.

The Bedford Mall Kenny’s is the ONLY pizza place with gluten free options I feel safe ordering from! The level of knowledge and care the staff have in regards to mitigating cross contamination is truly one of a kind in Halifax. Service is always prompt and friendly, and I’ve only had positive experiences both in restaurant and delivery (they also deliver to all of HRM despite being in Bedford). I had been wanting to go here since they opened and I finally made it on my birthday. I am happy to note that the service and food did not disappoint. Emily was super kind and lovely to talk to. I had the baked rigatoni and my mom had the beet and goat cheese rigatoni and both were so delicious. They have a few gluten free options to choose from as well! For the quality of food, the prices are pretty reasonable. I suggest making a reservation before you go because they are typically very busy.
