Julia made this an incredible experience! I am so grateful for Julia and The Mule, as a celiac and anaphylactic to Peanuts and Tree Nuts, my time finding restaurants that I feel truly safe is rare. This was the first place in Canada where I felt that safety to just explore the menu, relax, and enjoy. Everyone that came to our table was kind, informed, and awesome! Also the food IS AMAZING! Best tacos I’ve had in Ontario. Thank you again to Julia and the team for making a memorable meal and amazing experience. Will be coming back to Hamilton just for The Mule!

Love it here. It’s so cozy. Lots of their little treats and baked goods are gluten free and I believe they are all vegan. Their brunch menu is good too! Very generous portions. They always play the perfect cozy calm music, you can reserve a table which I would recommend doing on the weekends. I’m the warmer months they have some patio tables out on the sidewalk to watch all the Locke street dogs walking by. The banana bread is 20/10. I also love their matcha oat latte with strawberry syrup.

We used to come here all the time - and it was great. Then last year we went and I noticed the gluten free pizza did not taste the same as it had. Took a break from Caro, then decided to give it another go, and it is disgusting. The gluten free dough *was* the best in the city (I’ve been gluten free for 10 years and tried many places), and it appears they changed the dough. Not sure why they would change it because the last 2 times it has been horrible. Couldn’t even finish a slice. Very disappointing! Will not be returning, and I no longer will be recommending Caro as a gluten free option

We have eaten weekend breakfast here on many occasions. The gluten free waffles are the best I've ever tasted. The coffee is great. The service is friendly. The seating is tight but worth the wait on a busy day.

decided to go to Caro for a gluten free pizza tonight . server came to tell us they were out of at least 3 items on the menu and many types of drinks then waited to order -crickets waited 20 min … no one took our order we left … terrible service sorry not sorry

I have to eat gluten free as I'm celiac & family members kindly picked me up some GF morning glory muffins from Paisley Cafe to try. Wow...best GF muffin I've ever had!!! I will be making the 45 minute drive to see them soon (& I suspect often!) to hopefully get more muffins & try whatever other GF delights they have! I wish I still worked at McMaster University so I could visit them every day!! :-) **Update - visited in person - do be careful if celiac as server used same tongs on regular gluteny treats on the GF treats. I didn't notice the tongs weren't fresh until midway through server packing up my goodies & I ended up having to give away $30 worth of treats as I couldn't eat them. My bad, I should have asked server to use fresh tongs when I ordered.

The sweetest staff ever!! I always feel so welcome at Mulberry :) the salty vegan cookie and cinnamon bun latte are a must. I wouldn't recommend for celiacs, but they have an awesome gf banana bread for those with an intolerance!

Excellent food, excellent service. My wife and I held our rehearsal dinner at the Motel Restaurant and it was a great time. The vibes were really great, the service was excellent, and the food, wow the food. The food was outstanding, they also had some excellent vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options for our wedding party who have those dietary restrictions. This was good quality food too, these restrictions were not an after thought they clearly made meals taste good with said restrictions and our guests loved them. I would recommend booking your next event or dinner night at Motel Restaurant!

The food here is fantastic, They have fresh authentic mexican dishes with many options including gluten free an extensive dedicated vegan/vegetarian menu which is not common for most mexican restaurants! I tried the tacos and they were fresh, tasty and came with authetic dips, birria juice and authentic mexican spice dip, They also had amazing fresh juices like strawberries berry and mango and much more The service was very friendly and fast, I will highly recommend!

We travelled 2 hours to eat dinner here. Destination choice. Us and our friends (4 top) The dining room was busy, loud and full of laughter. The Kitchen was on a lull when we sat down for our 7 pm table, as we had a front row seat to see what they are up to. What they are "up to" is a LOT. As is the whole restaurant. Great greeting at the door, good well timed and solid service by the whole team, table visit from the Manager to say hello and chat for a minute. Very well made drinks, good wine selection by the glass, big tables, nice big chairs. Details. They have these covered. As the second rush hit, and the Kitchen crew was heading into what I know was the second stretch of service in a 10+ hour day, they did not let up. All of the parts of the dishes we ordered had their full attention. The salad, venison carpaccio and squash fritters were delicious, proportional and looked fantastic. The frites on the burger and flat iron steak (both cooked as ordered, delicious and served hot) were crisp and seasoned. The gnocchi was so good my wife purposefully did not finish so she could take some home to have the next day and my duck leg had crispy skin, soft delicious meat and slightly textured cabbage, with potatoes, proper lardons and a balance of tart mustard. There was dessert too after all of that great food, a smooth and full-of-real-vanilla-bean brulee and a light lemon tart. Espresso martinis after the meal instead of coffee. I am a full blown celiac diner who understands that there will be dishes that I just cannot have and yet I had numerous menu choices as well as un-requested thoughtful additions provided (gluten free crackers for my carpaccio) This is a restaurant business that you can go to knowing that all of the people that are here are working to put out the very best over-all experience they can, and have been doing so for the past several years. In a changing time of eating out and deciding where to go and what to get, my wife put it perfectly - "Go somewhere that can exceed your expectations" The French does just that.

I had a lovely meal at Cora’s restaurant in Hamilton at the Upper James St location. The server Stephanie was very friendly and gave great service. The meal was delicious, the fruit was sweet and fresh, and the omelette was hot and flavourful. I especially appreciate having gluten free meal options that are satisfying and filling. For those who require gluten free meals, I ordered the Gigi omelette with gluten free toast and fresh fruit. As a treat, I added a side of bacon. Come in and try this meal. You won’t regret it.

Service has been great every time we’ve gone and my kids love the birthday cake pancakes. I’ve usually been very happy with the food and grateful for the many gluten free options but this time my food was actually cold—not even room temp/warm, but cold as I’d it has recently come out of a refrigerator. My daughter also had the top of the syrup container come off as she was pouring some on her pancake. The staff were very apologetic and assured her that it wasn’t her fault (apparently it’s not uncommon). It was a busy morning, so I didn’t say anything about the temp of my food. Most of the time I would give five stars and we will still go back—I’ll just assume that this was an off day. Service was still great and I’m sure if I had said something, they would have addressed the cold food issue but maybe we won’t go back on holidays in the future 😬😅

Everything here is 11/10. Definitely get the salmon sushi and then watch yourself want a second one. Fries are a must. The PB espresso martini is painfully good. And they are exceptional at managing celiac/gluten intolerance. Great every time - thank you guys!

literally just called into two locations — ancaster was so wonderful to talk to they really take cross contamination seriously — not saying this will be everyone’s experience but st. catherine’s was quite rude especially for something like celiac disease they just were very dismissive like sure ya maybe we could clean the surfaces but no promises like we aren’t responsible for anything that goes wrong … okayyy but ya ancaster LOVELY!

We first ate at Baci in 2021 when only room service was available. It was a great experience and the food was really good. So for my birthday we came back so we could eat in the restaurant. My wife had the cod ( gluten free) and it was terrific. I had the Bolognese which was also very tasty but large enough that I am looking forward to having it again tonight at home!! I should add that the service was also outstanding.

I would give this place a million stars if I could. Incredibly kind and friendly staff. Food was excellent AND so gluten free friendly. Being celiac usually means I have to skip home fries and toast but not here! We had egg, bacon, toast, home fries and the breakfast BLT made gluten free. Highly recommend. If I’m ever back in Hamilton I will be going here!

First visit for brunch with friends and it was very disappointing...no coffee because their coffee machine was not working. The menu and reservation form indicates they have gluten free options and yet they had no gluten free bread/buns, so my eggs benny came without an English muffin. Overall, not a great experience.

Our niece planned their wedding at the Ancaster Mill Chapel and reception in the Mill. It was spectacular. For sure the bride and groom were so thoughtful in their selections but the Mill delivered. The location is beautiful with the mill stream and stone work stairs. The staff we kind, busy making our event special- the staff were happy to be there and knew how to support a good party. The food - excellent., complimentary the chef/kitchen team, you should be proud of your skill and care. I enjoyed the hors d’Oeuvres - several gluten free options all scrumptious. At the meal the salad was a feature- seeds and glazed walnuts, pomegranate seeds fresh green with a roasted squash base - wow. I had the prime rib. Again it was a treat. We had a great time. Thank you!

On the way home, I found a shop that sold Montreal-style bagels, so I went there. It looked like a Montreal bagel, so I had high expectations. There were gluten-free bagels, but they were only available frozen. But I'm happy. It won't taste good unless you warm it up, so I'll have to wait until I get home. Warm up a little and toast. It was too different to compare to what I ate in Montreal. There is no sweetness. The gluten-free version uses rice flour, tapioca starch, potato starch, etc., so the dough is chewy. Thank you for making it gluten-free.

Food was meh this time. Wings were tough, rubbery. Fries were not crispy. What's wrong with the blue cheese dip? It's the oddest grey colour. Potato skins were alright. I do like that there's a gluten free fryer and a few decent options for gluten free "pub fare" but this time we were underwhelmed. We probably sont hurry back.

This was our first time here and all 4 of us enjoyed everything about our experience. We loved the atmosphere and the food was delicious. We had the cod, hamburger, salmon and braised beef. They had a number of options in the main dishes for my gluten free needs. Presentation was great too. Such a fun night!

Top tier food and experience. I was unsure about my wine choice, and my server curated a tasting for me until I found the magic wine. I ordered the oysters, which came with a fruity habenaro salsa and it was some of the best compliment to oysters I’ve ever tasted. Gluten free was no problem, with lots of options. I had the salad with tofu added, and a side of the mashed potatoes which were insanely tasty, and a bit more rich and filling than I expected. The staff were helpful, charming - very good service. Would highly recommend to anyone

Can in for your Advertise gluten free subs. Upon entry the guy told us he had not had gluten free buns in three weeks. So we left. You should take down your sign off your front window, saying you offer gluten free.

The service was ok, server looked like she wasn't very happy, forced smile.. Let's talk about the food, my child's grill cheese was burnt, had to send it back, but got a replacement but that was even worse, not very happy my child was looking at us while we were eating, Chicken porteblo mushroom, the chicken was so dry and crusty, hardly any gravy sauce.. The steak was ok, but no steak knife instead I used the regular knife.. I had a gluten allergy, I had the chicken med with chickpea again the chicken was burnt on the other side and I guess the cook tried to hide it... Very disappointed with the service, food, and no smiles... Will not return.. I wanted to ask for a refund..
