Chef Emma created a fabulous Thanksgiving meal, served by the most pleasant and helpful staff. The service was excellent, the food was great for our gluten-free, vegan -adjacent diets!! I’d give more stars if I could!!
Amazing spot! The GF IPA was so good we went to buy some at the liquor store after dinner! My husband and I had the burger and pizza and would never guess they were both GF!
Very knowledgeable staff for allergies. I got the fish tacos and when I asked the waitress about switching the sauce from a dairy one she had an amazing recommendation! The tacos came as a rice bowl for GF and had an allergy notice indicated on my meal. Amazing place!
It made me so happy to have gluten free fried shrimp and french fries. My husband said his clams were great and the non gf blueberry cornbread was delicious.
Amazing! The lobster nachos were incredible! Everyone in our group loved their food, and it was fun to sit and watch the boats. Very celiac friendly too! My favorite place so far on our vacation!
Atmosphere, staff, and food were all amazing. We are a gluten free family and usually limited menu choices - Not here! There was a wide variety of gluten free items on the menu! We ordered the fish and chips, fish sandwich, braised short rib, cottage pie, and pickled onion rings. All were amazing! The batter for the fried items is always gluten free and items fried in a separate frier.
Really nice casual lunch! We ate outside and looked out at the water. I got a lobster roll with old bay fries (delicious!) and my partner enjoyed the fish and chips. All their fried items are gluten free which was super exciting for my partner! Not sure it would work for someone with celiac’s but it was perfect for us.
Wild Willy’s Burgers in York, Maine is a must try whenever you are up in this area. The menu is wonderful comfort food and incredibly fresh. With gluten free options, this restaurant is much more inviting than many other places. From March until early November, this is definitely one of our favorite restaurants every time we come up to York, Maine. Enjoy, Robert.
The owners are great, not many places around that you find gluten-free food, especially that’s any good. Food is priced within reason for the amount of food you get.
First time getting food at this establishment.
My sister and I are both gluten intolerant so this review really pertains to such consumers.
Lots and lots of options- we ordered the Mariner plate for lunch. It was take out so we ate at home. The scallops and shrimps were excellent, the fish was really good. Finding tasty gluten free food can be tough.
Our issue was with the French fries. Restaurants that serve gluten free food can sometimes not refresh their oil as often as they would for normal food.
That is our guess- the fries had a strong, unusual odour so we both ate only a couple and we both felt unwell afterwards. I would guess that the oil is rancid- everything else was tasty so please folks, switch your oil over for gluten free food more often.
Thanks
Large Selection. Super Fast and Friendly service. Gluten Free Option Had the Lobster Roll and Shrimp Roll Both were delicious. Large portions One is enough for two usually. Depending on what you buy,

The Butcher Burger did a great job cooking the burger. The toppings went together well and produced an overall good experience. They offer gluten free buns that are a good size and taste good. The table seating is only outside with all the indoor seating being either at the bar or facing out the window. The inside does smell a bit smoky with all the cooking happening in the building, so you may want to eat outside if that bothers you.
Incredible service, delicious food, lovely atmosphere. We particularly loved the playlist of soft rock with a few country song sprinkled in. Our server Rhene was very sweet and attentive, excellent service. We had two very very sensitive celiacs in our group and she and the restaurant were very attentive. We got the pulled pork sandwich, the chicken buffalo sandwich (with GF breaded chicken! my husband’s favorite he’s ever had), and the burger with an egg on it. They have a separate GF frier and plenty of yummy options. All the food was absolutely incredible. We also got a non-GF blueberry pie that blew us all away. 10/10 would recommend. And we felt very safe in terms of cross-contamination.
Delightful little locals spot with fresh fish. Service was a little curt, but get food makes up for it.
Got the salmon reuben and was completely blown over by it. Spectacular. Even better was the crab bisque. Spicy and warm. I need it in my belly!! Best one I had in Bar Harbor.
The haddock tacos my wife got were super meh. Skip unless you need flavorless tacos. But she loved the clam chowder.
Daughter liked her blackened salmon sandwich.
Gluten free options everywhere including a great GF chocolate ginger cookie.
This is a wonderful food truck that offered all the tastes of the big e that was safe for my family with celiac. The food was so good and my husband who does not eaten gluten free said it was better then anything he ate all day.
The food was yummy and the staff was so hospitable and nice. We had 14 people. 4 of us had strict gluten free needs. They were able to accommodate all of us. Excellent lunch! The views are great too. Highly recommend based on our experience!
We loved this place! Steaks were excellent, service attentive, and the restaurant was beautiful with wide plank wood floors and rugs under each table, very cozy. My husband has celiac and they have a gluten free fryer, which was exciting! Would definitely return.
I went here with my parents after a day in Augusta and it was worth the excursion! My mom is gluten intolerant, so I was looking for good places for her and this came up. We took a chance and it was fantastic! It was so exciting for my mom to find a place so accessible (and delicious) for her dietary needs. Everything is 10/10. Heading back in a few days!
Great experience, especially if you are gluten free! The menu was marked and there were a variety of options! The lobster taco special on corn tortillas was amazing - and our server Jesse was fabulous!
We really enjoyed this place. It's not any more expensive than I would expect for a fresh seafood place in Maine. The lobster roll was fantastic. Thick flaky chunks of lobster, cooked really well. They were also really good about working with you on allergies. I have a dairy allergy and my in-laws have gluten allergies. There was something for all of us and we all enjoyed it very much.
Poor service: I sat in this restaurant for 1hr 10 min and was never fed. Here's how: I ordered a burger and it came out with the wrong toppings, TWICE. Plus, both remakes took over 12 minutes to come to me. (12 minutes for the first, 14 minutes for the second, which is about the same amount of time that it took to deliver our food the first time.) Typically a remake is put at the front of the line, apparently not here. By the time remake #1 came, my husbands food was cold (he was trying to be kind and wait to eat with me). By the time remake #2 came, my husband had eaten his dinner (b/c it was getting really ridiculous to keep waiting.) I opted to take remake #2 to go, as I didn't want to sit there any longer, queue major frustration. We were a two top. A four top next to us sat after us, ordered after us, got their food, ate, paid their bill, and left, all before I was correctly given the food that I ordered.
Pros: Beautiful back deck overlooking the water, and gluten free beer option.
They comped both of our meals b/c we asked them to.
best brunch i’ve had in a while. full house but we managed to squeeze in a table for two upstairs by a window. cute, cozy atmosphere tied together by hand-painted table tops. mimosas were delicious, especially pear cranberry which i’ve never encountered before. “brunch bread” was the perfect start to the meal—we got a cheddar biscuit and cinnamon brown sugar gluten-free bread, both very yummy. for entrees, we shared french toast and steak eggs benedict. would order both again in an instant. service was warm and friendly to boot. will be returning, hungry for more!!
Great food with a great view! Even had a gluten free lobster Mac option. I was so excited, and I will definitely be going again. My only gripe is it's one of those places that you pay and they ask for a tip before you ever receive service or food. Ultimately both were great though.
WOW, WOW, WOW!!! Gluten Free Peeps, this place is a paradise !!! I have not had an ice cream cone for the past 6 years after learning of my gluten sensitivity. Sugar Shack has gluten free ice cream cones!!! They also have gluten free burger & hot dog buns, and pizza!!! The service was stupendous too! They have lots of outdoor seating and even have lawn toys for the kids to play with in the big back field. If you are in Bethel, Sugar Shack is a must!!
Was ok. Good choice of beers and whiskeys by nothing you won't find any where else. Nothing different or hard to find. GLUTEN FREE options for food. Got buffalo dip and was pretty good.
Got a flight of 4 whiskeys with a decent pour to them for $17. Thursday is lobster roll day. Unfortunately wasnt there for that.

If you need gluten free this is not the place. It's an afterthought here. Plenty of other options in Old Port to go to...like Ri Ra where you will be safer eating and you have a ton more options than the sad 2 or 3 offerings at this joint
Fantastic little find in Scarborough Maine. Great food, nice selection of local brews, great gluten free options. Set back away from main road, so you may miss it. Outdoor seating, friendly staff. The bathrooms were absolutely gorgeous, and clean. Will definitely stop back again when we are in the area. Prices were average, nothing out of the ordinary.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 Stars
My family and I recently visited Blazes Burgers in Portland, Maine, and had a fantastic experience! Being a gluten-free family, finding a spot with delicious options can be a challenge, but Blazes truly delivered. The burgers and fries were excellent, but what really stood out were the gluten-free buns—they were far from your typical dry, crumbly alternatives. These buns were soft, flavorful, and elevated the whole meal.
The owner was incredibly courteous, polite, and welcoming, making us feel right at home. As a bonus, the restaurant is filled with sports memorabilia and photos, which sports enthusiasts will definitely appreciate.
All in all, we had a wonderful time with great food, warm hospitality, and a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend!
We waited until our last day in Castine to have lunch on the Wharf. Food was excellent; however, the service was the worst I have had in my 59 years. If the wait staff is new, then someone needs to train them. We had to get our own water refill, I questioned my gluten free lobster roll, as it was supposed to be warm, and it was cold. I ate it and luckily it was gluten free, as I have Celiacs and it's important. Waiter absolutely never came back to the table to refill water, ask if we wanted more drinks, nothing. He came back at the end of our meal and asked if we wanted water, but a bit too late buddy. Train your wait staff to not stand around looking at their phones and ignoring their job of waiting tables.
First time here and it was just ok. Key lime pie milkshake awesome but our burgers and chicken sandwiches were just ok. My jaybird which is supposed to be Nashville hot style wasn't spicy at all. My daughter has celiac disease and can't eat gluten and woman taking our order didn't seem to understand what that means. 4 stars for atmosphere because hey, it is a shack.
