Walking from a nearby restaurant and decided to stop in about 30 minutes before they closed on a weekday. What a hidden gem. Tucked inside a pharmacy, it’s easy to miss but absolutely worth the hunt. Everything is completely vegan and gluten free, and you would never even guess. I can't begin to describe how delicious everything is here. The hibiscus donut, the churro donut, the brownie, the cream filled donut hut—every single item is incredible. My partner and I tried Shojin today and it was incredible. From the amazing customer service, to the delicious sushi rolls, I cant recommend this place enough. The staff were so polite and helpful. I have a gluten allergy, and the staff immediately explained that they are a gluten-free restaurant and even pointed out the other allergy-free options (such as soy-free). Before the location in Manhattan Beach closed, Lucifer's had my favorite gluten free pizzas. I hadn't been since then until yesterday I happened to be nearby this location and stopped in with a friend.
When we walked in the restaurant tables were completely empty and two staff members were working. No one greeted us as we waited with another woman who was standing there waiting to also have her order taken.
We eventually ordered a few minutes later and sat down. Before our food came I asked if there was a restroom (thinking the sign was for people who weren't customers.) I was told there was no restroom for customers, only employees and that I could go "ask around" to see if another business had one. So I asked if there was a place I could wash my hands - this is pizza place after all.. I was given the rudest response by the woman in the photo. I asked if she could please give us a few wet paper towels and she then let out a sigh and turned her back on us. My friend went back up to her and asked again when she replied "You're going to have to wait a few minutes, I'm busy" then again turned away and proceeded to browse on her cellphone. After a third attempt the gentleman who was working was nice enough to give us wet and dry napkins.
The pizza was just as great as I remember but the experience left a terrible taste. It's a bummer that a place with so much potential has the worst staff and customer experience.
Stick with take out.

Hi, I have celiac disease and so I was thrilled when I found this spot on the FindMeGF app which is used heavily by celiacs and other gluten intolerant people.
I unfortunately had a reaction right after I finished my bowl. It tastes good but there’s something in the ingredients here that is definitely not gluten free.
The staff at the counter was very nice but I think the owner needs to look into the details of the ingredients before they continue to make claims this is 100% gluten free on the menu.
I’m happy to update my review and try again if the owner confirms they’ve double checked all the ingredients like soy sauces, seasonings, etc and made adjustments.
I know exactly what a gluten reaction feels like and I don’t feel well after eating here due to my immune disorder.

I've been ordering from here for 2 years now. Never been disappointed till now. They don't have the gluten-free tortilla option anymore and it's very overpriced for a mid experience. I ordered through the app and it's not worth waiting 50 minutes just to get a delivery of a small burrito. They gave the wrong address to the delivery person through their app. Just don't order or come at this point. Not worth it anymore. I don't know what happened to this place but it sure is disappointing.
