This is my favorite restaurant! They have a discounted HH everyday (even on weekends) and has great mocktails. They have a staff is great and knowledgeable, everything is gluten free! They have a fried chicken strips are my favorite, along with the cashew queso & the Brussels.
100% gluten free Mexican food in the heart of Austin! The food was delicious, and I legit wanted to eat the whole menu if I had an endless budget. You can’t go wrong with any item.
The best cafe for anyone with anyone with allergies or diet restrictions. Gluten free options galore along with vegan butter and cheese! The best breakfast spot during a trip in Austin. The. One was eclectic and the staff were all very friendly.
Saw this on Instagram. We were in a hurry and didn’t review the menu before we went. Not authentic Thai food. Ordered the Pad Ka Prow and had 95% green beans and maybe 2 tablespoons of ground meat. I get the overall healthy, gluten free nature but if you want real Thai then this is not it. I should have been clued in by the location.
An Austin must-dine restaurant, especially if you're into healthy eating. The food ingredients come from local Austin farms, and the menu changes seasonally. Plan to share bites and experience odd and tasty flavor combinations. Even cooler is that they are included in the goodfoodfighter.com top 15 Austin restaurants and have a gluten-free menu. Our experience, starting with the valet, hosts, and server(s) was outstanding! See ya'll again soon.
Stopped by for a gluten free pizza. Staff was friendly, but pizza seemed a little overpriced - about $19 for a 10” pie.
Folks who have celiac: the ovens are shared. I don’t feel sick after eating there, but will update if I feel any pain.

Our waitress Tess was AMAZING!! So kind and sweet! She was very patient with me with my gluten allergy and made sure I was taken care of. Food was also great!
GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS
Food was delicious !
Service was excellent and our server was knowledgeable about gluten free options.
Sadly the only option for dessert was the Frozen Yoghurt was gluten free. I didn’t end up getting it because i was too cold to eat something cold since we sat in the patio area.

Excellent experience overall. As gluten-free out-of-towners, we were really excited to find a casual pizza place that didn’t overcharge, skimp on quality, or limit options. Madi was an excellent server and really made us feel seen and appreciated as new guests and dietary-restricted folks. We may hesitate to go back next time we’re in town, as we’ve since learned that ownership is a bunch of union-busting assholes. A shame, as it was a really special visit otherwise.
What an amazing experience to eat at the Original Kerbey Lane.
We walked in and where immediately greeted and seated.
James was our server whom educated that this is the original Kerbey Lane that opened in 1980!
Love his hospitality!
The inside is so clean and has the most amazing art décor hanging all over the walls.
The menu and food is what you would expect for Vegan Gluten Free options.
I ordered:
Vegan Breakfast Platter (VG)
Two Dr. Praeger’s veggie patties & tofu scramble topped with green onions & fresh diced tomatoes. Served with two half size vegan vanilla swirl pancakes.
Cost $12.99
I started with the Tofu scramble and veggie patties they both were full of flavors. My pallet was extremely happy with the texture to the tofu scramble. The veggie patties to me where a bit too soft and could have been cooked a bit longer so the inside was not mushy.
The two Vegan Gluten Free Vanilla Swirl Pancakes are the BEST and I mean the BEST pancakes I have ever eaten. They were fluffy moist and full of flavor. If you were not aware these are vegan and gluten free and wow I am honestly speechless at the texture the taste the way the cinnamon vanilla swirl enhanced the pancakes in a way that they were extremely sweet. To a point I had to take them home to finish. What an amazing tasting dish!!!
My friend ordered:
French Toast Platter* (V)
Two slices of French toast, two eggs any style & choice of all natural bacon, sausage or seasonal fresh fruit. $12.29
They advised that the French toast was cooked to perfection full fluffy and not egg tasting. They ordered over easy eggs which where cooked perfectly. The seasonal fruit however was not good. The honeydew and cantaloupe were not ripe and the strawberry's felt rubbery to a point I spat the strawberry out as soon as I took a bite of it. We both tried the fruit to ensure that they were definitely not ripe, and that the texture was off.
The cleanliness is off the charts as well as the service.
Overall this was an amazing experience and the food overall was exceptional minus the fruit!
One of the best breakfests I've ever had!
Got the lemon poppyseed French toast special and it was delicious. Absolutely perfect and decadent. Made with a lemon poppy seed poundcake or bread and a delicious glaze. Got it as the "Lemon Poppy Paris Texas Platter" which also came with migas, which they recommended with queso as the sauce, also super rich and decadent so I maybe would've got it with a different sauce but super delicious nonethless. They have a really wide menu with a lot of variety from savory to sweet and some vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options on the menu.
Got an iced orange mocha with oat milk, super great drink.
The staff were all very kind and helpful and made the experience really pleasant. Great value for the quality and amount of food you get. A really enjoyable and tasty meal!
I had one of the worst dining experiences at this restaurant while visiting my kids. They heard about this place and wanted to try it. We love all kinds of Ramen and are always excited to try new places. This place was nearly empty, yet the service and atmosphere were shockingly bad.
When we arrived, the only person on the floor was a man who looked like the chef—Asian man in a black chefs uniform who saw us but didn’t acknowledge us at all. Instead, he let us stand there for a while till he turned away and just shouted “DOOR,” seemingly to get an employee’s attention rather than greeting us himself. Someone burst out of the kitchen and we were seated—right next to the expo line, where we had the unfortunate privilege of hearing the staff mock customers based on their appearance and speak very vulgarly about each other and guests.
Despite the restaurant being empty at the time, we waited nearly 10 minutes before anyone came to greet us. The chef, who had ignored us earlier, continued to act as if we didn’t exist, even though he keep looking our way through the gaps of the space divider from the expo line to the table right next to it. When our server finally arrived, they looked absolutely miserable—like they hated every second of being there. We had a simple question about nuts in the special, and when our server went to ask, we overheard the chef loudly berating them for not knowing. The poor server came back visibly shaken, and at that point, we decided to avoid asking any more questions for their sake.
Later, a short woman with black hair—who I assume was the floor manager—arrived and immediately made everyone’s lives miserable. I watched her micromanage and stress out the already struggling staff, all while we waited 15 minutes for edamame and then almost 40 minutes for food in an empty restaurant. Every employee looked like they wanted to be anywhere else but there.
The food itself was completely unimpressive. They only have ONE broth, throwing random toppings on it and calling it different styles of ramen. I’ve had better instant ramen straight out of a plastic bag. I saw someone online compare their ramen to "dog water"—they were not wrong. The vegan option just sad. And dont even bother about coming here if you have celiac.
On top of that, the atmosphere was disgusting. Stained ceilings, cracked crown molding, food all over the floor, the tables were sticky and peeling and had food stuck under a circular shaped base that was bolted into the ground (stupid idea), it smelled bad, and despite the restaurant being empty, they sat us right next to the bathroom. To make things worse, they weren’t serving alcohol, blaming it on being "understaffed"—though it seemed more like the managers just didn’t want to do their jobs. If it were super busy, I'd understand but why have a whole bar in an empty restaurant and blame being "understaffed" for not serving me a drink on your menu. Sounds like someone has no idea what they are doing to me.
The only bright spot? The servers. They were polite despite everything, but they were clearly under appreciated and mistreated. It was honestly painful to watch.
Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Terrible management, gross atmosphere, miserable employees, and mid-tier food at best. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
If i could give this place 0 stars, I'd give it -2
The food was tasty, the staff were attentive, the atmosphere was cute. But there is NOT very much gluten free options. In general, this place is not allergen friendly. If you have no allergies though, it's great!!! Also, the mid-day menu is pretty limited
Grabbed lunch with our family and a friend. Our server was super accommodating for my wife’s gluten allergy and our active toddler. We’ve had date nights and lunch at Neighborhood Sushi and the food/service are 5 stars every time.

I've heard many good things about Red Ash and was excited to try them last Saturday. There are in fact many gluten free options and they were very helpful explaining the menu and accommodating. The visit did not disappoint!
Comments on the dishes: the sweet potatoes were yum; cauliflower came as almost two whole heads, flavor was good but not our favorite; gnocchi which was AMAZING (my favorite); the bone marrow risotto which was also delicious but definitely heavy and rich; my friends loved the halibut too; burrata with tomato was good as a starter and my friends enjoyed their bruschetta. Quantities were plentiful and we left completely stuffed, with leftovers!
Comments on drinks: green thumb was delicious; I wasn't impressed by the blood orange marg unfortunately; signora in rosa was good!
Parked with the Valet for $15.
Love the patience and genuine friendliness of the staff, and the food was good! You can tell thought was put into texture and taste. Nice and casual spot for your omnis, vegetarians, vegans, and gluten abstaining besties.
Great Gluten Free (GF) options labeled on menu, although I wish places just had a separate GF menu. Pork chop & Peahces was phenomenal, along with the soup, Cesar salad, and meatloaf!
Usually no wait so reservations not always necessary.
Feels healthy.
The pad thai and fried rice were good. We also had a red curry dish and a tom yum soup. Both were OK but nothing special. Curry was a bit too spicy (though red curry is always spicy). They do have a lot of gluten free options which is great and we thank them for. They were also pet friendly.
This was my second amazing meal at Uchi Austin! This time I brought even more people. For our visit to Austin, I put Uchi high on my must—dine list because the flavors were so memorable. Everything was delicious. Sour, umami, spicy, herbaceous, sweet-- they covered every note. We ordered a variety and took recommendations from our wonderful waiter (Armin? Armon? - I should have gotten the spelling). Two of us are gluten free, and two of us don’t even like seafood generally, and we still loved it. Most of the menu can be gluten free (get the ponzu sauce!). What a great memory.
Jack Allen's is legit one of the best places in Austin. We've been a fan for years, and they've even catered our wedding back in 2011 when they used to do that.
Jack's menu has stood the test of time. Their specials are fantastic, and when they found out the margaritas has gluten in them (my wife is allergic) they even changed their recipe for it.
Hands down great value. You can seat 2 adults, two kids, appetizers, drinks, and dessert for far more reasonable prices than "trendy" places who either charge more or dont have nearly as good food.
If you don't like Jack's, your standards are wrong and I suggest you just move back to LA where at least you can feel important about it.
It's such a delight to see vegetarian/vegan Eatery that serves everything like Mexican food, soup, salad, cakes, fresh salad. And coffee too!
They have Gluten Free food items as well.
The place is very clean and quiet. It's also very huge.
I ordered Tamale, Chilaquiles, Fries and fresh Carrot/Apple/Ginger juice for dine-in. Very tasty.
For To go, I ordered, Red velvet cup cake and pineapple/Carrot Muffin which i yet to taste.
Moreso they open early at 8am.
This is going to be my go to place in Austin.
Overall, the atmosphere is fairly nice with very kind and friendly wait staff. True Food Kitchen has a well rounded menu with accommodates for vegetarian, gluten free, and vegan with clearly labled dishes for such. Additionally, the flavor profile is fairly diverse so if you are vegan like me, you will not be restricted to a single option and have a few choices to make.
I can't believe I didn't try Uchiko sooner. Anna was a fantastic server and the food was amazing. My boyfriend and I wanted to keep the bill around $200, so I was worried we wouldn't get enough food. I had to unbutton my pants on the way home.
We're pretty indecisive, so we took Anna up on her offer to curate a menu for us based on our budget and likes/dislikes. Every single bite of the 9-course dinner was perfect. We got all our favorites (most of which we didn't mention - it felt like she was reading our minds), plus plenty of unique things that I never would've thought to order but turned out to be incredible. She checked in regularly to see what we liked so she could pick the next courses. Our feedback probably wasn't very helpful because we loved everything.
I mentioned my gluten intolerance in the reservation. Anna addressed it as soon as we were seated and went over the gluten-free options. The vast majority of the menu items were either gluten-free or could be modified. It really stood out to me that the food runners all specified that each dish they served was gluten-free. I didn't have to spend the meal worrying about miscommunications.
Our experience was on par with the Michelin-star restaurants I used to go to when I lived in NYC, but for a fraction of the price. Obviously the food was perfect. But what really set this experience apart was the service. I can't say enough good things about Anna, the bartenders, and the rest of the FOH staff. Everyone went above and beyond to take care of us and make us feel welcomed.
I love this place for our family for brunch because they have delicious healthy options for me and classic diner options for my kids. It's a win-win. There's an entire gluten free menu, lots of vegetarian options, and delicious buddha bowls. They also have beer on tap and an espresso machine. I like the atmosphere - it's like a diner but feels more Austin. They're also great for take out and kids.
I'm sad that Counter Culture is closing but grateful that I was able to enjoy it for so many years. This place was ahead of its time, offering vegan options before they were readily available at grocery stores, food trucks, etc. The cashew cheezecake is amazing, and I ordered several of them for my birthdays over the years. The gluten free mac'n cheeze is also out of this world. Thank you, Counter Culture, for showing us that we don't have to torture animals (or our own bodies) to enjoy our favorite comfort foods.
Delicious Korean fusion spot, with a great gluten free selection. Staff was very knowledgeable about the menu and guiding me to both gluten free and dairy free options (the latter not too hard in Asian cuisine).
The portions are large and an appetizer and main dish some could be shared amongst friends depending on how hungry you are.
I got gluten-free chicken strips and mashed potatoes, and they were more than I could eat. But so good. I didn't want to stop eating til I ate them. All will definitely come back again for this plate.
I always have a lovely time here but writing this review to shout out our lovely sever Ariana. She was such a light and her energy made the experience that much better. The shrimp & grits is great and my friend who has a gluten allergy never has to worry when she comes here. 10 out of 10 will recommend.

Food was phenomenal. In our group we also had a person from Mexico and one from Colombia and they also raved about the food. We had the tacos, flautas, quesadilla and caesar and all were amazing (and gluten free!) We wound up accidentally leaving something at our table and the staff were so quick to message me via OpenTable, where we made the reservation, to let me know. Highly recommend!
Love Kerbey Lane, but this one at around 8 pm was not good. I had gluten free pancakes which were very dry like they had been sitting around for a while and warmed up. My friend ordered a salad and the brought out the wrong one. Very disappointing.
I have celiac disease and made that clear to the cashier. They marked “gluten allergy” on my receipt, and of course I only ordered gluten free items. Started having a reaction shortly after finishing my food. This location is not safe if you have celiac disease.
Food was amazing as always! Cheesy Naan and cream cheese stuffed jalapeno Naan 😱 amazing 👏. Very delicious and has tons of gluten free and vegetarian options. Korma and Tikka were super yummy.
