Great lunch in Lucca, we had 2 first courses and 2 glasses of dessert and coffee, great value for money. Friendly staff. Great attention to gluten-free and lactose-free.
We were there last night for a dinner for two. The reservation from the site, which lets you choose the table and also the time to go, is very simple and convenient. The confirmation of the reservation arrived quickly. As soon as we arrived in the room the waitress was kind and friendly. We had already said in the reservation that one person was celiac and as soon as we arrived they brought some warm gluten-free bread of excellent quality. We ate an appetizer with cold cuts, cheeses and tomato bruschetta (the bread was also warm and gluten-free). After that we had some tordelli, a Lucca specialty (also available GF), delicious! Having said that I would gladly go back as the food was fantastic and they are very attentive to the needs of the customer, both in the room and for dietary regimes. Congratulations!
Excellent experience, truly exquisite food, medium-high prices but absolutely in line with what is served. Also pay attention to gluten-free from starters to desserts
We just had a fantastic meal at Trattoria L'Angolo. 3 generations of us for a family meal. They catered well for our smallest (slightly fussy) kids, with homemade simple pasta. The homemade Focaccia was absolutely delicious. We had lovely traditional Italian meals, pork, beef , risotto, tomato dishes. And local Tuscan wines. It was all lovely and set in a gorgeous square in the heart of Lucca. The staff were very attentive and accommodating..
Also special mention for catering well for Gluten Free dietary requirements. Would highly recommend when visiting Lucca. We booked the day before we went , would suggest doing the same.
I am very happy to leave a review for Sud. I booked online and also talked on Instagram about whether they made pizza for celiacs and luckily I was able to eat it right here, very good (vegetarian) nice and full of vegetables. I am also writing this review to tell those who complain about the prices that they think are high that in my opinion
they are not at all. Honestly the prices are average considering the high quality of the raw materials, maybe these people are used to eating in fast food because otherwise it can't be explained, or they eat tar and go around saying that they ate caviar. Having said that, don't pay attention to the negative reviews. Quality has its price.
In Naples they say: Tnit o pizz buon e a scella rott 😂 Anyway, thanks for the attention to gluten-free, the rest of the pizzas were also very good 👋
This is just a note. One review cites that the restaurant offers home made gluten free pasta. This is FALSE. They buy their gf pasta. Further, they confirmed there is cross contamination. Celiacs be careful.
The staff was very attentive without being intrusive. The two gentlemen knew how to give us very competent advice regarding the food and wine. They also took the time to talk to us for a longer period of time - very personable!
Quiet ambience with pleasant music. Selected, individual and creative decoration of the restaurant. Chic furnishings of the table with a beautiful placemat.
Very tasty food, fine aromas, elaborate dishes, researched combinations and tastes. There was homemade gluten-free focaccia - simply incredible and truly a highlight for someone with celiac disease.
They also loaned us an umbrella for the journey home because of the storm.
Small but clean and well-kept place, central location and close to the station. The sushi is very good and the lunch formula is excellent (4 dishes of your choice for €12 excluding drinks) for me 4 dishes are very filling!
Also very careful about gluten-free!!
Superb place! We saw Nonna making pasta in the day and we tried for a walk in later in the evening. Amazing atmosphere they catered for gluten free also.
Real trattoria in the center of Lucca, with a menu that is far too broad but which does not lose out on the quality of the dishes.
You can find the main Tuscans.
Many gluten-free options, price in line with what is offered.
We had a fantastic dinner at Trattoria Canuleia. The atmosphere was nearly as excellent as the food, and they were kindly able to accommodate us on a Friday evening without a reservation. A lovely green back courtyard hosted a number of tables. I’d particularly call out the great gluten free options. My wife is allergic to gluten, and there were many options available, including gluten free pasta and bread. The wait staff couldn’t have been more lovely and accommodating.
Absolutely will return next time we are in Lucca.
We often return to this pizzeria because every time it is a confirmation: young and welcoming environment, fast and always friendly service, and above all… delicious pizzas!
A special mention goes to the gluten-free pizza, which is truly one of the best we have ever tried: the dough is light, digestible, well leavened, and arrives at the large and fragrant table – a real joy! Oh, the Cecina is too good!
The place is comfortable in every season: in winter you are comfortable inside, while in summer you can eat outside in Piazza San Francesco, one of the most evocative in Lucca. The context makes the experience even more pleasant.
The offer of flavors is also very interesting: in addition to the classics, there are seasonal pizzas with particular and never banal combinations. You can perceive the care in the choice of ingredients and the desire to always offer something new.
In short, if you are in Lucca and are looking for a pizza that leaves you smiling, here you can go for sure!
We really loved everything. Eugene was amazing, very friendly, great English, and gave us the best food recommendations. One of us is gluten free and there were plenty of options. Wine was also very good. Highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely come back.
Really nice atmosphere and staff, but the food isn’t good at all. The tortellini tasted like really cheap tortellini from the grocery store and the cheese sauce too.
The gluten free margherita pizza was pretty good though, but it is hard to fail making a pizza with mozzarella and tomato sauce
Large platter 18 euros (8 slices of cured meats, 4 of cheese, a bowl of olives and a bowl of couscous)
Gluten-free and bottled beer 33 cl 4 euros
Weiss beer in a 50 cl bottle, 6 euros
Cover charge 5 euros (2 x 2.50 euros)
Good quality, decidedly small quantities, high price
