Thank you SO MUCH for all the gluten free options. Amazing service. Place could do a masterclass on poached eggs (my grandmother would have been very impressed)
What a lucky find and a gem of a place! We were passing through after a long day of work and in need of a good, celiac safe option for dinner. The staff was super accommodating even though they were about to close. The majority of the menu can be made gluten free and is definitely the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had (celiac or not). Highly recommend!! We absolutely loved the gluten free spring rolls (dedicated fryer, IYKYK) and gluten free subs. The staff were so friendly and amazing at answering all our questions. Bonus: large portion sizes, all at a really good price. Will be back again that’s for sure!
I have only had their soft buns and banana chocolate chip muffins and they are amazing.
best GF DF dinner buns I have ever had. even my husband who is not celiac likes them.
highly recommend Miss Ps
Picked up a gluten free lunch today, $30 for 1 meal is kinda ridiculous. I got pasta with the burger and it was an added $8 up charge to get a small portion of gross pasta. The pasta was horrible, very clearly reheated (not well) and definitely a day or 2 old. I could have made Kraft dinner that tasted better than their barely reheated pasta. I don’t know if they changed chefs but their pasta used to be amazing. Very disappointing
Gluten free/celiacs this is a must try. My fave is the Maria's special or the bbq chicken. My fave gf pizza by FAR ive ever tried. The first time I didn't believe it was gf it was too soft and doughy and delicious. It even saves well for the next day (if by miracle i dont eat the entire thing in one sitting...) which is not true for any other gf pizza I've tried. I never go anywhere else anymore for 'za. The staff are all super kind too!
I stopped in for a quick lunch during a business trip. It’s always hard to find great vegan cuisine when I am traveling for work.
This location was amazing, their menu had so many great vegan options to choose from along with great substitutions for gluten-free, soy free, etc.
I went with the lemongrass, tofu, beet salad, and I asked to add some capers to it. The server was extremely friendly and had no problem accommodating my request. It was absolutely delicious. I wouldn’t change a single thing about it. I will gladly be back when I am back in the area.
Ambience was great with a fun vibe. Very trendy. Even the bathroom was a lot of fun some cool wallpaper and fun color scheme.
I'm extremely pleased by the staff here.
I had a food allergy I made my server aware of at the start. When they brought my meal, I had about .2 seconds to stare at it before another server swooped in and stole it back stating "Sorry this one isn't gluten free", and the manager appeared from the other side with the correct order. The whole switch out happened in less than 10 seconds.
On top of that, there was no discernable difference to the appearance of the meals, to my eye anyways, so I'm even more impressed by how quick they noticed the wrong one had been presented first.
Finally- it was Valentine's, and they were absolutely brutally packed and still managed to do all this with a smile.
The food was great but it could have been awful at that point (as so many gluten free substitutions are anyways) and I still would have been amazed.
I was working in an office nearby and was looking for lunch - I haven’t eaten here since prior to my Celiac Disease diagnosis.
I noticed on the menu that there is a wide variety of items across all categories that can be made “gluten conscious” with substituted items. If you have to avoid gluten you know sometimes there are no options, or no substitutions available and it can be a challenge eating the same things over and over again. I wanted to give it a shot, so I placed my order on the Moxies website with an ask for GC subs.
I ordered the following to share with a gluten sensitive coworker:
Truffle parm fries
Roasted tomato and whipped feta dip
Chipotle mango chicken
The restaurant called right away and confirmed substitution selections with me. The fries were baked instead of fried to avoid cross contamination, the dip was served with crackers instead of bread, and the chicken was served with jasmine rice instead of ancient grains.
When I went to pick up I was served by the manager who was incredibly friendly. I really appreciated the attention to detail and care that was put into my order- I did not feel like a burden or that the substitutions were too much work.
The best part is that everything tasted great - I would happily reorder these items again and they kept absolutely fine in containers and made it back to the office. We both feel great hours after eating and are excited to be able to add some variation to an otherwise relatively flavourless mealtime.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make my experience great, even if I didn’t dine in!
Monki Breakfast & Bistro is a decent spot for a brunch outing with friends. The bright and welcoming atmosphere creates a cheerful vibe, and the staff are friendly and attentive. However, I found the portion sizes a bit smaller than expected, and the food quality didn’t quite meet my expectations.
Additional Info and Tips:
1. Menu Highlights: Monki is known for its creative twists on classic breakfast dishes. Their eggs benedict variations and stuffed French toast are popular choices—worth trying if you’re into flavorful brunch options.
2. Seating: It’s a cozy space, but it can get quite busy during peak brunch hours. Making a reservation ahead of time is recommended, especially on weekends.
3. Dietary Options: They offer a range of options, including vegetarian and gluten-free dishes, which could be a plus for those with dietary preferences or restrictions.
4. Pricing: Prices are moderate but slightly on the higher side considering the portion sizes. It’s something to keep in mind if you’re looking for value for money.
Pro Tip: If you’re a coffee lover, their specialty lattes and espresso drinks come highly recommended. Pair one with your meal for a complete experience!

I loved Prestopie pizzeria! I’ve been waiting for a place like this to come to Alberta. It’s basically the same as Fired Pie. You choose your dough, they have gluten free options - then you choose your sauce & all the unlimited toppings you want! They have so many different options for the sauces & toppings. The pizza is also perfectly cooked in their fire pizza oven. The size is actually a pretty big serving, I ended up with 1/2 a pizza to take home still! 10/10 recommend coming here! It has a nice atmosphere to sit & enjoy your pizza in☺️
Been here a number of times and have never been disappointed. Earls menu always has a decent amount of good celiac safe gluten-free options. Staff at this location are always friendly and food has always been quick.
Just want to rave about our experience tonight at The Keg on 130 ave SE
Just went there for our celiac son’s 18th birthday dinner and they were incredible. The menu is clearly marked for GF diners but beyond that our server, Eden, took extra care to make sure our son was looked after. All his courses were delivered to the table by kitchen managers to ensure everything was safe and no cross contamination occurred.
Well done team! That was refreshing 🥰
It is great to have a waitress that speaks Spanish and is so attentive and without hesitation makes changes to the order according to the dietary needs. Love they have gluten free options.
Kendra was my waitress and she was amazing, fast, always friendly.

The gluten free options were diverse and plentiful, including deserts. Food was excellent. The service came with snark. The atmosphere was intrusively load- music was repeatedly turned up to the point even the server said she couldn't hear anything. I have been there before and food has always been good, service previously was attentive and pleasant, and the atmosphere quiet enough for conversation.

Today was probably my best day at Costa vida I am celiac and even though they couldn’t offer me the sweet pork burrito they had tons of other suggested meals for me to try. They were super happy and enthusiastic at the front and made sure that I felt welcome. This is by far the best location in all of Calgary if you are planning on getting Costa vida come to 130th ave. They also gave a good sized portion of everything from the sweet pork on the enchiladas to the rice on the side she also gave me some sauce as a suggestion to put on my rice and it was amazing.
Honestly this is great Mexican food, much better and more authentic than Mucho Burrito. However, my stomach doesn’t agree with it at all.
I have no allergies and I’m not gluten intolerant but I’ve had digestive issues and stomach pain both times after ordering here. I thought the first time was just a one off, but it happened again. A few hours after eating I get extremely gassy, and I have sharp pains in my lower abdomen that lasts for several hours. My assumption is that they don’t properly soak or cook the beans so there’s still toxins in them — not sure what else it would be that’s causing it.
This is a quality choice for gluten free chinese food. The fried rice is great, portions are always big. Staff is small. always working. There is occasionally some consistency issues on the meat dishes where they go from excellent to just good. But I have ordered here many times and will continue to do so. Palace chicken is awesome.
We had omelets. They were good. My wife would have liked a smaller portion, but we didnt see one. Price was on high side, 48.00 for eggs for three people. Restaurant was clean enough and the server was very nice. They can make a gluten free meal if needed.
I had a rather frustrating experience at this location today. I have a gluten allergy and specifically called ahead to verify there were multiple menu items that I would be safe to eat. Over the phone I was assured there were many options. When I was there today with a group of friends, I found out my options were extremely limited. My server did do her diligence to check what would be available for me and it was suggested the artichoke and spinach dip. She then returned apologizing saying that the chips that came with it were not actually gluten friendly. In the end all I ended up with was a salad. The salad was tasty, but the options available were very disappointing when I specifically called to verify, and then to be told I could have something, then told wait no, never mind was frustrating. If you are celiac I would be cautious about dining here.
The food was incredible, my daughter and I got a gluten free beef dip and it was amazing! I haven't had a beef dip since well before my celiac disease diagnosis 13 years ago.
My son said "it was the best dinner he's ever had"
All but 4 items are gluten free. I don’t ned gluten free, but it was tasty! Had fried rice, beef and broccoli, and sweet and sour spare ribs! Fast, tasty, and fresh
I always stop here on my break, as I've been working in the area the last few months. I'm celiac; have never had an issue with the GF treats, and I'm addicted to the lemon squares :p. There's worse addictions, i guess. Great coffee, also.
To the guests who leave a negative review on the service;
The owner has always been prompt and courteous to me, and to every other guest I've seen in there. I worked over 2 decades in this industry, and I'm not so entitled to expect what this culture demands out of service industry staff. You want a fake smile and someone to pretend to care, go spend 300$ on a fine-dining dinner.
Attitude is or ignoring you is one thing, but this is not the case here. Seriously, go work in a cafe/restaurant for a year or 2 straight and see how you do.
Please, check your privilege.
Hannah was our server. She was so sweet and nice! My kids say she was the best ever!!
The manager was also very nice! Thanks for accommodating gluten free for us.
I ordered a catered corporate lunch and forgot to ensure I had a gluten free item. I called during busy time and they accommodated with an amazing meal and delivered very quickly to ensure they ate with the rest of us. Amazing service, got everything right, and very friendly.
We went to J Club tonight, for the first time, for my husband's birthday. We had the Butter Chicken, Teriyaki Stir-fry and our kids ate off the kids menu. All of our food was amazing, (the best we've had out in a long time,) and they had the option of a gluten free bun for my son's burger.
The service was quick, and our server was great. Will definitely be back!
We had the pleasure of eating here after trying it a few months ago, very rarely do we find that there is consistency and they didn’t disappoint. The pasta was fresh and el dante …felt like I was in a cozy place in venice! The fellow (Ganesh) speaking to us was also very nice and told us about the fresh ingredients that go in the pasta. I had the gluten free gnocchi and my hubby had the creamy pesto ravioli. I’m always nervous eating out but he made sure everything was done absolutely perfectly! Really recommend this place as a nice night out and value for money!
The ladies who work here are always so welcoming and cheerful—it truly makes a difference in our experience. The service is incredible, and the food is delicious. I eat gluten-free and my husband follows a carnivore diet, so this spot is a perfect fit for both of us. It’s also very family-friendly, with high chairs available and warm smiles for our little ones.
Bit of a nightmare trying to get anything made gluten free (even the sashimi normally has sauce on it), but when it eventually gets sorted the food is really good. Little pricey, but again, good food.

Our server Louis was absolutely amazing! Such great service and was so nice and friendly. The food and atmosphere are always great. We enjoyed our appetizers, mains, drinks and desserts. As well, lots of gluten free options - even cheesecake. Great experience!
Damini was super friendly and informative, she helped me pick a few gluten friendly options and all were delish! She really knows her stuff and made the experience wonderful. I had the butter chicken and the onion pakora. Absolutely will be back and I’m excited to try some more items :) great service and food.
So hard to find good food that is also gluten free, lots of options to choose from. The food is really good! Definitely recommend treating yourself to a meal here
A very special thank you to Sam for her service today during the dinner rush. I have eaten here many times for lunch as I work nearby, but Sam is the first employee ever to pull fresh containers of veggies from the fridge to ensure zero cross contamination in my meal when I mention I had Celiac disease! This may seem so simple to some, but to a Celiac, it is HUGE! Eating out can be distressing and the extra care Sam took today really made my day! Thank you Sam!!
