Lovely visit, staff were super lovely and the vibe of the place was great ☺️ they had a seperate gluten free menu which was great with lots of options! Delicious food. Would definitely come back!
Great view and service, good sandwiches at lunchtime. The glutenfree hamburger bun was one of the best we've encountered. Celiac friendly, dedicated fryer.
Beautiful fresh chippies and burgers! Cater to everyone! Low carb? Bunless options! Vegan? Vegan options! Gluten free ?...you guessed it! Generous servings as well if that wasn't enough already! Staff are always super friendly and greet with a smile ...happy even though it was super busy! You guys rock!! thankyou for the beautiful dinner, just perfect after a long day at the beach ⛱️ (Albie agrees too) 🐕
Went here for mums birthday lunch, everyone's food came out luke warm. My pizza was lacking flavour, it was the tofu one. It was very bland. The calamari my sister got the gluten free version and it was small for the price and lacking flavour. Mums seafood chowder was yummy but not hot and someone else got a cherizo breakfast special that was great value and yummy. They have a huge menu with heaps of gluten free options which is great. The waitress was lovely and very tentative to our table. Would probably go back but would ask for the meal to be hot and wouldn't get a gf pizza!
Cute restaurant with a large selection in the core of Turangi, including vegan and gluten-free options. Very nice staff and relaxed atmosphere with fair prices. PS: There is also very tasty ice cream!
9 of us ate here for Mother's Day lunch. 3 of us eat gluten free so that is no problem here. We had a salad bowl with meat. I had lamb and was just delicious. A lot of yummy meat and all the salads. Others had pizza, rice meals, chips, etc. Highly recommend. Great food, prices and service. Lovely and large restaurant.
Staff are always friendly and helpful. Food is great. Coffee is good. The Café is always clean and tidy, well kept. Great cabinet food options as well as gluten free and dairy free options on the menu. Great for the whole family.
Went here for brunch today. My friend is a vegetarian celiac, so it is normally a good place to go as there are plenty of options for her. Today was the exception, no cabinet food, no salads aside from a chicken one. So she ended up having a gluten free vegetarian bread/pizza type thing. I ordered the venison short ribs on the starter menu, they were amazing, I would definitely order again. We both wanted a dessert and they have one of the best brulee's in town, but alas they said they did not have any, this was the only gluten free dessert option aside from berries and ice cream. So we will not be back until the menu changes.
I had a fantastic experience at Wyld! As someone with a gluten allergy (coeliac), it's often stressful to eat out, but at Wyld, I felt completely safe. They offer great gluten-free options, and everything was delicious and carefully prepared. I didn’t get sick at all — a true relief and a joy! Thank you to the team for making dining out enjoyable and worry-free.
Wow what a great place! Very clean, relaxing, comfortable booths, great friendly staff, so glad we found it, the gluten free vege pizza is the best I’ve ever had, (and I eat out a lot!) can’t even describe how delicious that was, the gluten free carbonara was amazing also, we will purposefully detour in the future to be able to come to this restaurant again, it is a new fave 🙌
Good food, good cheer and great beer... went here the other day and had a few pizzas. Perfect pizzas, super awesome staff and were more than willing to make them gluten free. Definitely going to be a regular visit.
Really nice place! Everything was perfect - service, food, atmosphere. The Chef made sure to look after us himself, explained about the food served and cared for my wife's coeliac dietary requirements.
What a pleasant dinner.
We definitely recommend it!!
It is a must go in Taupo!
My wife and I heard about Joe's Garage from the coeliac Facebook group.. re knowledgeable about coeliac and cross contamination.
So we thought we'd try it out. WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED!!!
The service is great, the staff friendly and genuine.
Food is varied and excellent! We'll go again!
Well done team!
Just a PSA for those with celiac disease. The GF is short for Gluten Friendly not Gluten Free. Never heard of Gluten Friendly so didn't spot this until we got there but it essentially means you can eat it if you have a mild intolerance but nothing more. Only the salads are suitable for people who are celiac so a pretty stink dinner, and we were told the noodles would be replaced but they were just removed so pretty much chicken and leaves. Feel like the servers were doing their best though and we're very apologetic so gave service a 4
Has been my favourite restaurant for several years. However the menu has changed and there is little I can eat now or would enjoy eating. Kumura rostis have gone. No kumura pizza now. Rarely any gluten free vegetarian soups or other dishes.
Just okay - nothing special. Food came out very fast but was under-dressed. Additional fee for gluten free, but it was the type of gluten-free bread that quickly turns to mush with any moisture.
Very good food. Lots of spice options, mild for the kids and extra hot for a challenge. Lots of options for vegan, gluten free and dairy free. Very nice and fun music.
The Toa burger was amazing, I didn't think I could finish when I first saw it, but it went down a treat. Also had gluten-free options for my wife and good attention to detail, many thanks 😊
Amazing restaurant with honest, delicious food at a great price, topped only by the care and service from the wait staff. My daughter is celiac and all questions were answered with compassion and menu alterations were handled without fuss. Highly recommended whether for a family dinner, work gathering or even a date night.
The pizzas are great size and value for money. The kids pasta with ragout sauce is like nonna style, beautiful made and exceptionally tasty. We order a portion of chips as well, but we didn't specified gluten free as we did with the rest of the order, so the chef attentively came to us and point out that the chips may contains gluten in the preparation, so we avoid it. Thank you Chef!! Excellent team and service!
One of the best places I’ve dined at in a long time. Food has a unique taste and everything is top quality. Lots of gluten free options for meals I usually can’t choose.
Only picked up takeaways but they went out of the way for a vege/gluten free customer and they were prompt for pickup. Food was very tasty. Definitely go back.

I love the setup of the restaurant and the decor. The food was succulent, flavoursome and hearty! The portion sizes are huge so your in for a good feed. The pricing is higher than most burger joints but it is so worth it - a flavour sensation. The menu suits all! From gluten free, dairy free and a great selection of delicious vege/vegan options. Come on down and give it a try. You will not regret.
Fantastic Vietnamese eatery. Everything tasted fresh and was super flavourful. I especially recommend the lemongrass tofu, which was especially rich in flavour.
Almost everything on the menu is gluten and dairy friendly, and also plenty of vegetarian dishes on offer.
Ordered through UberEats - GODDAMN! So damn delicious!!! Shout out to Haylee who informed me of the coeliac options here through email. Enjoyed the Sirloin Steak with red wine jus, mash & veges and the Mango Panna Cotta. Everything was so perfectly cooked, seasoned, and fresh! The portions were incredible and worth every cent! I'm stoked to have another delicious dinner option.
The food here was exceptional. I ordered the lamb and it was melt in the mouth delicious and so very flavoursome.
My husband ordered a pizza which was cooked to perfection.
My two children are celiacs, and the gf puzza was perfect for them.
Our waiter was very helpful and friendly.
Overall it was a great experience. I would highly recommend.
Had Dinner here tonight and asked for gluten free and dairy free options, took 3 different people to be able to confirm what was possible on the menu to cater to these dietary restrictions. The Waiter then was extremely rude to our table and at the end apologised for this by blaming their behaviour on another staff member instead of taking ownership of there behaviour especially as the manager of the restaurant.
Regarding the food, the gf pasta was like cardboard and I would not recommend. Tasted like a cheap gf pasta packet from the supermarket. Dont appreciate the extra charge when this is the outcome.
I would not recommend this restaurant from this experience.
Service was good as was the food. But the bathroom was disgusting. It was a mess and there was no hand soap, plus the staff weren't busy so no excuses there. The gluten free buns were better than expected/we're used to which was nice.
Attended a function here on the weekend. The food was amazing and they they catered for my coeliac daughter easily, she was so stoked! A relaxed but efficient bar manager set a great vibe and the staff were fab!
Food was amazing. Really catered too the gluten and dairy free stuff we asked for. And they really cared about insuring us if we could eat it. Goes a long way for us. Thanks guys we will be back. Keep up the good work.
I recently visited this restaurant with my family and had a mixed experience.
While I appreciated the allergy menu and good selection of gluten-free options, the pork belly dish was disappointing. The pork belly was too dry and lacked of crispness on the skin, I was hoping to have that crunchie sound when cutting up.
On a positive note, the prawn and scallop tortellini was impressive and delicious.
However, the food took a bit too long to arrive at the table, which was a bit frustrating. The portions were quite small due to the tapas style of dining, which made it hard to justify the high price.
Overall, I would still recommend this restaurant for the good selection of gluten-free options.
We'd heard there is a vegan menu so we visited, and it's true. See the attached photo of the vegan menu. There are a few gluten free options also. It was really nice and the service was great. Only down side was the tomato juice is not very nice and not recommended. And it's a Lone Star so lots of country music 😀. But everything else was great and well worth a visit.
