Seems like the Flying Star has been around for 40 years now...and ABQ staple! Great deserts and a fun place to hang out. Love their breakfasts. It's not their hay day anymore, but still solid. Good gluten free options.
I really enjoy there pizza, love that I can pick and choose what I like on it. I get the gluten free and I like that it’s not hard as a cracker, it was soft. My husband gets the regular bread and really enjoys their pizza. Clean tidy place, great employees.
Justice the bartender was very friendly and attentive. My drinks came out yummy. The appetizers were out fast and hot. I love that there is a gluten free option for the pizza. Our food came out hot and correct. I will definitely be back.
Tons of options for everyone! You can find dairy free, gluten free, vegan options. There are about 10-15 different food options of all types of cuisine. My favorite is the Meso Grill and Kulantro
It's a great place to hang out, and it used to be one of my favorite places to grab coffee and a treat. I don't mind paying a little more because things cost more. But the quality has really dropped.
But there's always french fries or the other pastry options. I hope they continue to create gluten-free options!

The gluten free pancakes are delicious!. They messed up our order and it was delayed by 30 min.. A little misplacing of our order. But I would come back! The place was clean and we beat the Sunday brunch rush! Great place!
Staff is always super friendly. The food is always super great and for 2 years I've been living gluten-free and they honestly have the best gluten-free pizza in town!
It is with great sadness that I rate flying star only 3 stars. several years ago, restaurant had two or three wonderful options for those of us who cannot eat wheat. (Gluten-free pastries) Since then, they have discontinued one and then the other and then another of their gluten-free products, moved them around, switch them out, and now seem to have only one... which is the gluten-free very berry scone. Somehow, in the process have also made the scone almost inedible (!?!) It used to be a little crumbly, a little dry, but basically very tasty and a good substitute for someone who cannot no longer enjoy the finer things in life that containing the wheat grain. But they've changed the recipe or the cooking method or something. (My suspicion is they've cut back butter (again) and perhaps changed some other ingredients?) but the scone is pretty much almost inedible now - unless I take it home, moisten it up with some mist from my kitchen sprayer, and heat it very gently in the microwave. Which totally misses the point of going to the café in the afternoon for a coffee and pastry.
Coffee and pastries used to be one of the greatest joys in my life. Now that my intestines tell me I cannot eat wheat. I relied on some of the wonderful inventions that Flying Star used to have (such as the morning glory muffin. Which was moist and sweet and tasty. And now... gone.) Each time they make a change they seem to cut out one of the things that brings me in... and pretty soon there will be nothing left.
They have some gluten-free food options available, just ask. I was there to meet two friends from out of town and they raved about the fish and chips but I was not able to indulge due to my celiac. We arrived around 4 pm and it wasn't too crowded but the place was packed when we left. Overall, it was enjoyable for everyone in my group.
The online menu serves no justice compared to going in and catching the vibe. I wanted to order 3 different meals 😩 I don't know how I missed the mac n cheese grilled cheese sandwich but, that's what I ordered thankful that the employee sold me by simply giving me my choices. When I come back to visit this is for sure on my must-eat list. They have gluten-free opinions which works out as well for those who have celiac. Yes. I was very big backed eating this 😆 🤣
I love Flying Star, the coffee is great and the pastries are delicious! Lots of great options - salads, sandwiches, and bowls! Gluten free and vegan options as well!
Honestly one of the best places to get pizza or cheesy bread (which honestly best cheesy bread I’ve had in a lonnggg time).
I wish other restaurants had employees that were so good at their jobs. They are always so nice and they nail the orders on the head every time. The lady with glasses that works the take out area needs a special shout-out for being so awesome and just thank y’all for really giving such good customer service in a world where it is harder to find.
Also, best Gluten free pizza in ABQ
I really love this place, especially because their gluten-free subs work with my dietary restrictions and still taste great. Just a heads-up, the bread is better untoasted and you might want to add extra meat since it's pretty thick. The wings get high praise from others, the table games are fun and well cared for, and the service is super helpful plus, the game shop has a solid selection at fair prices.
So happy to discover this excellent pizza restaurant! Delicious food, wonderful staff (who are also great singers, by the way). And the owner welcomed us and showed us a fun game (among a huge selection of board games) to play. A pleasant concept, board games and great food. It’ll be a regular treat for us! Vegan and gluten free along with vegetarian and meat options!
**Gluten Free pasta available**
We had a great experience for our first time trying M'tucci's. Iggy was our waitress and I wanted to specifically call out Iggy for being awesome and attentive! I mentioned that I eat gluten free and Iggy made sure at every chance to help and let me know what dishes were (or were not) gluten free.
The food was delicious and the portion sizes were on point too. The pork Bolognese was SO.DANG.GOOD! My husband got a pizza that he said was great. The house white was the perfect compliment to my meal. And it isn't on any of the menus (that we could find) but they do have beer as well.
Thanks again to Iggy for your attentiveness and making it clear you remembered my dietary restriction throughout our meal, and the rest of the staff who were all very friendly & helpful.
Outdoor patio available, smallish indoor dining as well as bar seating. Great NM beers and ciders available on tap as well as a variety of cocktails and mocktails. Cauliflower pizza crust is available for those of us who are gluten free, and some of the other menu items are GF, too. The server was very friendly. I had the Sandia Lemon Mango Cider and my husband had the La Cumbre Malpois Stout, both on tap. We were both happy with our choices. He ordered the Bulgogi Beef with Fries and Cheese and really enjoyed it. I couldn't eat very much due to an upcoming procedure but I did have a little and it was very good. We will back sometime when I can try some of the many tasty-looking options on the menu!
Got sick from the “gluten free” pizza, I paid over $20 for while dining there. Looked exactly like my friend’s regular pizza. Brought it back and asked if it was GF, staff said “yes.” Explained that it got me sick. & they didn’t try to fix it so I spent over $20 to get sick and for my friend to have my left overs.
O’Niell’s is one of my favorite spots in Albuquerque! Their burgers are outstanding and they offer a gluten free bun as well. Every dish I’ve tried here has been phenomenal and the service is always friendly. The patio is spacious and dog friendly. I love this place!
I still like this place! It’s maybe considered kind of old school these days, but they have good pizzas, including a gluten-free crust option, and a variety of great salads. They have a huge selection of local beer, And they have adept, friendly staff. It’s a good “Cheers” kind of place to go.
They called and asked to make sure my order was correct and were mindful of my gluten allergy in the comments. Very friendly staff and great food. Thank you all so much.
Used to be good. Now every time I go my order is wrong or I’m missing items. Not worth it anymore imo. I’m gluten free and they don’t care if they get your order right or not.
Never had a bad meal and I can always find gluten-free options without being at risk of cc. My kids love the fresh tortillas and the cheese and chips are so good. The prices are reasonable and it has numerous options.
Delicious, and they're always willing to do a lettuce wrap on their burgers for a gluten free option.
This location in particular has difficulty keeping the dining room clean. Tables sticky and unwiped, food on the floor,...
This was a nice place to eat. The atmosphere was fun and run like an old fashioned diner. Pez dispensers, juke boxes, and wonderful milkshakes will take you back to the past. Service was friendly and fast even though the place was packed at 9pm. Food was tasty and had good flavors, but some of the items were a produced product not made in house, otherwise this place would have been a 5, don't get me wrong, the food is good but not special. they have incredible gluten free options for almost everything on the menu, if I could give it a .5 star bump up I would for that. This is a nice spot If your in the area.
I have Celiac and anytime I want a good gluten free burger where I know I’ll be safe I usually choose Red Robin and this uptown location specifically because they are always friendly and the food is always really consistent and tasty!!
My husband and I had Sunday Brunch. It was wonderful. Joel had a more traditional breakfast of enchiladas. This was all gluten free. The rellenos are not breaded. This was sea bass with polenta and spinach.
They only have 1 gluten free entree at the moment, but it's a delicious blue corn relleño filled with pumpkin if I remember correctly. And they have several gf options for appetizers, but no desserts yet. The choice is limited, but I would still go back because it was extremely good. The atmosphere and service was amazing.

We always stop buy for cheesecake when we are in Albuquerque. I love that they can accomodate the size of our group. I got the Steak Diane gluten free and it was wonderful. I also got the ghirdelli gf cheesecake. I've never been glutoned after eating at this location. With so many flavors of cheesecake to choose from, everyone can find something they love. Our group got tiramisu, lemon merengue, smores, a cherry chocolate, oreo and more that i can't remember off the top of my head NM
Our party ordered half order enchiladas, which is quite the smallest enchiladas I've ever seen but tasted quite good. Comes with green Chile stew to cover the enchiladas. Another ordered frontier burrito gluten free. Also has green Chile stew as a filler, neither were spicy. Quite small but at least the prices reflect the portion size. And lastly chicken nachos, smaller than movie size and roughly the same price. Overall, a nice establishment, lots of pictures and natural light. Straight across from UNM, so a bit cramped at times. Menu is quite vast, will return to try another menu item. Mexican and American options.
