This is a great spot for food allergies. My wife had a fried chicken sandwich which was gluten free and she was in heaven. I had their signature black bean burger and the jalapeno jam was very tasty.
So I have autoimmune disease called Celiac Disease and that means gluten and me do not get along at all. This place has great gluten free reviews and was super excited coming here. Well now I am about ready to lose my mind. I asked my usual questions concerning gluten free items and preparations for their food/drinks. I ordered a CIDER and got served a BEER without hesitation. This is actually absurd. When somebody asks you about gluten free items and safety precautions and then immediately within 2 minutes get served a gluten containing item, itโs just actually ridiculous. The server was apologetic and kind but not knowing the difference between beer and cider is disheartening.

We were told to visit Old Europe Pastries because they have gluten-free options. Indeed, they do! The carrot cake is outstanding. We also got what I'll call a lemon bundt cake (which I can't remember the exact name, sorry), which was excellent. We'll definitely go back!
Besides all the food being absolutely incredible, from the appetizers to the dinner to the dessert, all fantastic. The service was amazing, my family and I went and the server, Tatiana, was the most attentive server I've ever had in my life, was so on top of everything, drinks being topped off, above and beyond and incredibly friendly. I don't reveiw often but felt like this deserved it, definitely suggest this place! Also side note, my mom has celiac and they are very careful with food allergies, her plates even had allergy warning stickers on them. The menus made note of what was gluten free, and spice levels, as well as a low calorie specific menu.
Hands down my favorite place for gluten free pizza!
They are very accommodating to gluten free customers. Not only do they have gluten free pizza crust but they also have vegan cheese ๐ They have specific pizzas that can be prepared certified gluten free as shown on the menu. Some ingredients vary by location so be sure to double check. Sometimes I venture out and build my own pizza but I always verify which ingredients are safe. They also have individually wrapped gluten free brownies for dessert!
Celiac friendly. The staff was knowledgeable about cross contamination and were able to highlight everything on the menu that I could eat. Delicious food and good atmosphere.
Absolutely delicious and so many gluten free options. Food comes out so fast, you barely think it before itโs on your table. Will absolutely be back!
I have had Celiac disease for 20 years, since before I could drink alcohol. I thought I hated beer BUT THEN I HAD ARMORED COW GLUTEN FREE BEER! My favorite so far is Hell Yeah but Miss Rosie is good too. I canโt wait to try all they offer gluten free. Thanks for making beer I can drink and enjoy!
The pizza was OK once warmed in microwave. The gluten free crust was good but the regular pizza crust was tough. Maybe better if hot.
Story time! We are L9ngview Gardens Franks Pizza Fans when you want a good NY style slice.
We saw the reviews for Oakwood Pizza Box and decided to try both a cheese pizza and a gluten-free option. Pizzas were ordered online for pick up at 6pm, notifiied ready at 7:15pm. Arrived at 7:10 pizza not even in oven, waited 40 minutes to receive a room temperature pizza.
Really not worth the hype. Drive 5 minutes to Longview Gardens, just saying.
Service and food were great! My only disappointment is that HQ is changing their menu and taking several items off including one of my favorite gluten free foodsโฆstreet noodles.
We had salads and pizzas delivered for our large group one night. They were fast and efficient. Salads were fresh and delicious (Greek salad). The pizzas satisfied our cravings and went perfectly with the wine we had at home. Solid crust and ingredients. We had a guest that was gluten free and she was able to pick her option and enjoy a great pizza alongside everybody.
Yikes. Donโt even know where to start. Long story short - donโt come here. We waited over an hour and a half for our food and after that we walked out. Never typically leave reviews for restaurants but this was an exception because it was so bad. I mean the worst restaurant experience Iโve ever had. We kept getting different excuses from the waiter and the manager. At one point it was that โgluten free pizza takes longerโ (which has never been a hold up in the past at Mellow), another time it was โthe kitchen made your orders wrong,โ and the third time it was โthe kitchen lost your ticket and your order hasnโt been made.โ After over an hour and a half of waiting and the server asking us our order again and getting the order wrong on the ticket, we decided to leave. Manager and waiter never seemed to care that we had been waiting over an hour and a half, there was no sympathy or apologies, and they were rude. Exceptionally bad customer service. Other tables were waiting for their food and the food pick up section had a large amount of people waiting a long time too. So donโt count on pick up being timely either. Understand delays can happen because of staff shortage and busy hours, but the restaurant was half empty and tons of servers standing around. None of our group will be coming back. Highly recommend you donโt go here or if you really want Mellow Mushroom to visit the Cary or Durham location.
Great spot if youโre gluten free! We ordered take out and when I talked to them on the phone about celiac they were very knowledgeable and accommodating! Lots of options!
I had a gluten free grilled chicken sandwich and a house salad. The gf bun was great and the grilled chicken was also very good! My (gluten eating) boyfriend got the cheese steak sandwich and enjoyed it (heโs from Philly)
I love popping in to Centro for lunch. Great, quick service, and reliably awesome food. The flautas and tacos are my favorites - and they even have a gluten free fried chicken taco which is so so good!
Iโm a vegetarian, and the main menu has almost no meat-free dishesโbut Winstonโs actually is vegetarian friendly as long as you say something to the waiter. They have a complete alternative menu available: the front lists vegetarian and vegan dishes, and the back has gluten-free dishes. I canโt speak to the gluten-free options, but the vegan and vegetarian choices are excellent!
This was my first visit to Bad Daddy's. I have Celiac disease, so gluten free options are extremely important to me, and it's a real treat for me to have a proper burger-in-a-bun rather than a lettuce wrap, even if it is a GF bun (they tend to fall apart without gluten to hold them together; no fault of the restaurant). My burger was delicious; I'll definitely come back when I need a burger fix. However, my review is mixed because I found the ambience lacking - the music was loud and of what I considered to be an obnoxious selection (personal taste, I know, but hey, it's my review). Also my menu was dirty, which was a real turn-off. A few customer-focused tweaks and it could be a five-star experience for me, but currently it's not.

Wife is gluten free and most of the menu is GF. You would never know it. It tastes better than any other Mexican food we have ever had. Birria tacos, cornbread, carne asada tacos, enchiladas, EVERYTHING was top notch. We were in town for one night and ate here twice!
A true Charlotte institution. It never gets old and the atmosphere is dreamy. The burgers are elevated. There are lots of fresh foods to choose from and they also have a variety of vegan and gluten free options. Maybe the best restaurant in Charlotte!
The Gluten Free pizza is phenomenal. Probably top 3 in Charlotte, if not, number 1. With that being said, the service was very bad. We arrived at 5:15 and the hostess was very nice and seated us and made room for our baby. About a minute later, our server, Anthony came to the table. He asked if we wanted anything to drink and we just said water and he said he would come back. Well 25 minutes later my wife had to get up to find him so that we could order. Once we placed the order it took another 30 for the food to come out. We chose to eat before 5:30 since we were out with a baby and it was empty at that time. We never got an apology or anything. You canโt deny how great the pizza is, but the service was terrible this time.
I'm really appreciative of the gluten free options as someone who has a pretty severe gluten allergy, but the chicken tenders were pretty tough. Cook them a little less and they would be amazing.
Listen, I understand that with a large group food is going to take longer to come out. BUT 2 HOURS is a bit of a stretch. This is a great spot if you got time to kill and nowhere to be.
Pro:
- menu is great
- gluten free
- variety
- drink selection
- environment
- Price is ok
Con:
- service. not just from the servers but kitchen staff. This poor girl was left alone to take a party of 20ยฑ. When another server could have helped, and have our orders in the system in half the time. Drinks also took forever to come because this girl was putting in orders into the system for 30 minutes.
Overall it is a great spot if you have a part of 2, and or have no where to be for the day.
They mark all of their GF items as GS (gluten sensitive). They are willing to accommodate when they can, but there are a lot of fried foods here. They do have sides like mashed potatoes and salad that can be substituted for fried sides. I went safe and had a Jamaican jerk chicken bowl. It was absolutely amazing! They have indoor and outdoor seating as well as an indoor and outdoor bar.
Amazing service with Daniel, he was very attentive, fast, and friendly. Great food as always, cooked well and not a long wait. Great options for gluten free, both mains and sides.
The seafood Alfredo and Chianti were very good. The restaurant accommodated for Gluten sensitivity by offering vegetable side with trout in place of pasta. However I ate my meal after everyone else had finished theirs.
I do not recommend the GF ravioli, it arrived cold and frozen in the middle and the initial taste was simply not good.
The table service was eh. Not very attentive, had to wave the waiter down. Didn't offer to compensate for the 1 out of 5 horrible meals.
Great pizza and beer on tap. Reasonably priced and has a cozy vintage vibe in the dining room.
Unlike many pizza places, they will make any menu item gluten-free. My partner is GF and she loved both pizzas sheโs tried to far! Weโll definitely be back.
My server was friendly and great with timing. I was very pleased with my spinach enchiladas. Great portion, flavorful. Cute tile on the floor. Nice variety on the menu. Wish the floors didn't feeling greasy. Above all for me a big improvement would be if it was clear to me what allergens are in the food. When I mentioned to my server that I needed my food to be gluten-free he looked like he was guessing that the enchiladas were gluten free because they're made with corn tortilla but I did not see him make a note for the chef or anyting and he did not assure me that it was gluten free. I'm have issues and I have no idea if the yummy sauce had gluten. Either marking the menu for customers or letting the chef know would be a huge benefit

Had the pulled pork nachos as a starter and then roasted salmon for dinner, the food was good! I had no symptoms after eating, so itโs safe to say theyโre pretty good about avoiding cross contact! I tend to have severe reactions to gluten.
We love this place! The food is great with friendly and competent service. The reason we originally started coming here was because of the gluten-free pizza options. My husband is gluten and dairy free; not only is the pizza crust one of the best, but they also offer vegan cheese! He can get a complete pizza.
I ordered the glutenfree pizza, it was delicious wouldn't know it was a glutenfree base, my husband had a normal pizza he said it delicious too, freindly staff and a nice atmosphere, very busy so would recommend booking

Celiac friendly. The staff was knowledgeable about cross contamination and were able to highlight everything on the menu that I could eat. Delicious food and good atmosphere.
I recently was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and have to eat gluten free. The gluten free pizza here is incredible! I have been going to mellow mushroom since way before I got diagnosed and their food has always been amazing. I was just not expecting their gluten free menu to be equally as good! Love it!
Our waitress was incredible big shout-out to Sierra she was kind helpful attentive and sweet. The gluten-free buns were very delicious. I don't prefer a sports bar type setting but other than that the Ambiance was great.

Jasmyne was such a great server! She helped us navigate the gluten-free menu as my mom has celiac! She was super kind and the food was delicious. We love coming here!
Lots of gluten free options including sushi!! Let them know if you have celiac and they will take extra precautions and your meal will come out separately with an allergy stick. I feel very safe eating here!
