Coeliac gluten friendly.
Dined here a week ago when visiting Canberra. It was an amazing dining experience catering for gluten free needs. The whole restaurant is totally gluten free - wow! The waiter was superb and gave us very good suggestions for ordering our share plates. The live piano music really added to experience and ambience. The food was outstanding and a real treat for everyone in our group, but especially so for the Coeliac diner.
Loved the decor. Loved the staff. Loved the music. Loved the food.
Even if you don't require gluten free, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Amazing food and vibes, lots of vegan and gluten free options and you can't even tell which is unheard of. Coffee slaps too, highly recommend for all lunch and brunch dates

This place was awesome! The service was great! Very friendly and quick even though it was super busy. The boss had put enough people on - good work. Lots of gluten-free desert. Will be back!!!! This is a must go. 🙌
The best Italian resturant in Canberra!! I have been here many times, and each time the food is AMAZING!! Their gluten free options are plentiful, and they take great care in no cross contamination and also offer celiac friendly and vegan options!! The pizza and pasta is phenomenal, and the service is kind and fast and taken with great care!! 10/10, love this place
Great Asian fusion with friendly staff happy to talk through the menu and offer suggestions. including plenty of gluten free options.
I would certainly come here again.
Terrible allergy care! This has happened both times I've gone. I have a dairy allergy and have coeliac. I've asked for a soy latte and they then not only used almond milk but then also used unclean jugs meant for full cream milk(terrible health safety practices) which means anyone with a nut or dairy allergy could no longer drink it. My worry now is if they had used the oat milk it wouldn'tv'e been coeliac friendly. Coffee tasted nice but made me extremely sick. Please do better.
All of the bakery treats are delicious here! Few gluten free options too which is awesome. Absolutely recommend sitting outside for morning tea/afternoon tea on a sunny day.
What a delight! Gluten free waffle cones and dairy free, gluten free ice cream… is this heaven? I wish I lived in Canberra and wasn’t just visiting. What a lovely little place with such great atmosphere and friendly staff. Might have to squeeze in a second visit before we leave!
Went here for a casual lunch with the work mates. The pizza was excellent and there is a wide variety of different meal options. If you need it there are even gluten free options for those so inclined. The beer is really good and they have some local craft beer options. Ordering is easy and the service is quick and efficient. Food was all brought out to our table outside without too much of a wait. I would go back there for sure.
We were really disappointed. We drove 20 minutes from our hotel to have breakfast at Local Press, a place we’ve enjoyed in the past while visiting Canberra. It seems like the cafe might be under new management. The menu has changed, even though the website still displays the old one (there are no gluten-free pancakes anymore!). While I’m sure the new owners are nice, the experience is not the same, and the food is definitely not of the same quality. My salmon nori eggs benny had about one flake of nori...
Please update your website!
Fabulous burgers, chock-a-block full of delicious ingredients. I had the vegie and haloumi burger with a great gluten-free bun. Buzzy brewery atmosphere with great beers on tap.
Beautiful fresh menu, staff caters for coeliac. Fries are super moreish. Lush atmosphere and sound design. They have foam pads under the tables to absorb the echos!
The food was INCREDIBLE! It was super tasty, there were labels on the menu for Vegan, Gluten Free and Vegetarian which was awesome and the service was great. The only issue is that with our designated seating time, our food was delayed and came out 10 minutes before we had to be out. But I would recommend the later seating if you are to go, because the food and drinks are definitely worth it.
Quick service, friendly staff, delicious food, good gluten free options and a very nice atmosphere; a truly wonderful place to come for a quick brunch on thevweekend
Coffee served cold ( long black- never had it served cold before) only one option of cake Choc brownie) for my celiac friend. Parking limited,.had better experience previously but won't be back.
I have had Brod before but this one didn't hit the spot. Firstly, the wait time was insane for a quiet Friday lunch and one burger order. I would hate to go on a busy weekend and be in a hurry.
Had a gluten free veg burger. Their gluten free bread was so dry - so many burger places in Canberra do gluten free bread well so this was disappointing. The thinnest driest haloumi slice drowned by oily vegetables that tasted half cooked which given the wait time seemed a bit silly. So much capsicum! The burger sauce had been poured on and was oddly spicy which must be to make up for the lack of seasoning on the cooked veges. I think I'll try the vegan burger instead next time.
Their onion rings had a thick batter which was a welcome change from other burger joints. Appreciate that aioli dipping sauce didn't come at an extra cost.
Staff were nice but one person in particular seemed incredibly fed up - as was I by the end of it all. Won't be going back any time soon.
Interestingly never had a bad experience at the one at Capital Brewing in Fyshwick.
I met a colleague for Brekkie and it was a great option near the hotel. The gluten free toast was yummy, I even asked where it was from to get some more.
After having a not so great experience, we appreciate the cafe taking the time to hear us and listen to our concerns
No one came over to greet us etc, had to walk in because we weren't even sure if they did table service. They finally took our order, never checked on us, refilled water etc. We paid and they charged us for a dish we didn't eat. We had to call and get a refund and they were very rude about it. Waitress seemed a bit annoyed as we had dietary requirements (gluten free/halal)
Noticeably two people who came after us were looked after well, served food promptly etc
Not gonna come back here at all, and will tell others to avoid.
UPDATE: After posting this review, there are two other POC groups that have posted around the same time as us. I recall this as well as they weren't being served as either, and they also refer to the couple I mentioned above that received their food before any of us, noticeably they were not POC.
It seems they are appropriating aspects of Asian food but reluctant to serve them when they come to their cafe.
UPDATE UPDATE: just wanted to follow up and say that we got a call back to personally apologise for the experience we had here. Its very commendable for them to want to reach out and fix the situation and we really appreciate them taking the time to understand our feedback. Sometimes in service bad days and interactions can happen and what we perceive can be different to people's intentions. Thank you for the call!
What a little gem!
So hard to find good coffee in Canberra. The food was also delicious and really appreciate all the vego/vegan and gluten free options. Staff are also lovely and very quick service.
No photos because we are it too quickly.
I will be back.
Busy Friday evening but managed to get a table. Large share meals were delicious and staff were all friendly. Didn't get orientated to the ordering system when seated but worked it out eventually. Options galore and veg/gluten free friendly.
I found planning my event with Lillian at Sirens very easy. I simply told her what I was looking for and she sorted it for me. It was extremely well priced and the food was amazing, I especially loved that they didn’t charge any extra for gluten free alternatives. Although when I arrived there was another event taking place in my area, the team was super quick to sort it all out and ensure it didn’t affect my event. I would defiantly recommend sirens for any and all events. :)

A delightful range of garden walks and views. Walking on the giant green grass steps is surely a unique experience. It's a wonderful way to enjoy Canberra's sights from altitude without having to venture too far out from civilisation (in fact, it starts right outside the village centre). It's great if you feel like a slower paced stroll on an incline that wakes up your calves! The village centre is light-filled, airy and spacious with great hill top views. The bonsai collection there is truly a work of art. The restaurant offers wide sweeping views and a superbly delicious high quality menu that caters to your dietary needs such as vegan and gluten free. I had a great day out and will be back again sometime soon.
Always exceptional but now they've opened for dinner. The menu was vast and had a wide verity of food options, things ranging from Vegan and Vegetarian options, as well as Gluten friendly if you ask the waitresses. A kids menu is also provided on the back to keep the little ones happy :). The service was quick and was seated by a professional waitress upon entering. The drinks menu had alcoholic as well as non, included smoothies, juices, bottled drinks, wines, beers, and spirits. Ordered an entree of Braised Oxtail which the oxtail was super tender, moist, and fell apart once you put it in your mouth. There was deep fried cheesy gnocchi, which was very mourish with a red wine jus to make the meal connected. I then ordered Salmon Picatta (GF) for main, the salmon fell apart like butter and was plated with a lemon butter with capers. It was accompanied by grilled asparagus and herb roasted potatoes with the skin still on as well. I then ordered dessert which was a Warm Chocolate Brownie (GF), the brownie had a salted caramel sauce with raspberry gel and chocolate chunks, the brownie also came with ice cream. All in all, a first class experience and I will definitely be visiting again.
Overall, a good little spot on the lake for a coffee and bite to eat. I really like the Cat’s Panama’s coffee. I was happy to see gluten free french fries as perfect for my little one and hard to find where no gluten items are cooked in the oil. $7.50 for GF toast that is tiny and 2 slices, i’d suggest giving 3 slices at least or drop price a bit.
