MUST try their GF DF carrot cake cupcakes. Amazing.
Wait time
On food and coffee will
Be unreasonably long usually. Sometimes the food is super amazing and sometimes you’ll have to ask them to remake it. We’ve been coming here for 18 years and still love it even when it can be bad sometimes. In anchorage this is my favorite cafe as they have amazing options and the best hot beverages. However: the gluten free cookies and cupcakes and other treats they have are absolutely the best in town. They have different GF treats whenever we go. I love their selection. If only other places had such amazing gf treats. Not sure about their food options. Their matcha latte and coffee are just bomb.
Service is either amazing and lovely or some atitude depending on who you get. We usually the the lovely people!
We were in Anchorage for the long weekend, and Snow City Cafe was recommended to us by our Uber driver on day 1. We loved it so much that we ate breakfast here 3 days in a row! The Eggs Benedict were so good - I recommend the half & half option so you can try more than 1, (specifically the Kodiak/Ships Creek combo).
There is also a great selection of gluten free options for intolerant and celiac folks.
The staff was also incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about local attrations, and offered great suggestions for GF alternatives, (having corn tortillas with an egg scramble instead of toast).
Things a very popular spot though, so I highly recommend joining the virtual que on the Yelp app prior to arriving - otherwise you may face over an hour long wait at peak times.
This place is HIGHLY recommended. They have so many gluten free options (if you’re gluten free it’s an absolute necessity to go). They have many options of what to eat and the surroundings is so cute! You can sit in a sun room or you can sit by windows closer into the place. It’s small and cute, perfect for dates, small get togethers, family, and even going by yourself. The people are nice and it’s a little pop up :) everything tastes fresh, ESPECIALLY the avocado. You need to go!!
It was a sweet surprise to find gluten free dairy free treats in Denali! The sweet potato gingerbread was so good! The staff was very kind and accommodating when asked about item ingredients. What a cozy and welcoming atmosphere!
I love both Little Owl locations! I will say if you are craving gluten or meat the original location has more options for food. If coffee and a baked good are what you are looking for either location has great options! However they bake the goods at the Little Owl by the comic shop and I sometimes will find more baked goods there! Can’t go wrong at either location. I really love all their homemade coffee syrups as well, my favorite right now is the cardamon flavor.
It’s rare not only finding a restaurant that serves gluten free meals in Kenai, but meals that taste phenomenal, as well. I like coming to Debbie’s even when I’m not utilizing the airport and I live in the Kasilof area. The owners and their staff are also incredibly friendly and it’s fun grabbing a bite with your children while seeing the planes take off and land. Please come here!!
if there are a lot of people you definitley be waiting a minute but its worth it, brisket is soo flavorful and cooked well. They have gluten free options that wont leave you dissapointed. consistent and kind!
I keep wanting to give this place a chance but I think we’re done. We went a few weeks ago and the wait was long but nothing out of the ordinary. Once seated we placed our order. I ordered the sourdough gin and tonic. I asked to substitute club soda for the tonic. The soda was flat and where I assumed the rhubarb would be somewhat muddled, it was just a few frozen hunks tossed into the glass; not what I would expect for a $14.5 cocktail. Our meals consisted of the butter burger and huevos divorciados, both delicious, but we didn’t receive them until 35 minutes after ordering which was frustrating. At least I had time to try to muddle my frozen rhubarb. Before we got the bill my partner asked if he could try one of the biscuits. He was given a cold biscuit in a box. No butter, no jelly. It was dry. We tried again this weekend per my request since their gluten free menu is probably the best for brunch in town. It was another long wait so we went to the coffee shop next door. I ordered a cappuccino and it took them 35 minutes to make. I am not exaggerating. I then realized they have one machine for the coffee shop as well as the entire establishment so there were waitresses coming in for the brunch orders which put those of us in the coffee shop behind. We were seated after an hour. When given the specials I asked the waitress if the potato leek soup was gluten free and her response was “probably not, it tastes too good to be gluten free” we ordered the omelette and the shakahuska, and I specified gluten free once more. When the meals came, there were baguettes on my plate and my meal was cold. I asked if I could please have gluten free for a third time and she acted surprised. I placed the baguettes on the table and was brought two small pieces of gf toast to mop up my cold breakfast. Staff are very friendly and the options look delicious, but I think we just get really unlucky every time we come.
This is our favorite restaurant not only in Girdwood but in the greater Anchorage area. Very cozy space with great food and drinks. The menu is very celiac-friendly but it doesn’t feel forced.
OBSESSED. Their iced matcha with whole milk and honey is SO yummy, we literally came here every day on our vacation. The inside doesn’t have too much seating but they have a cute upstairs with some chairs and windows. Their pastries were very yummy and some were gluten free which was great!
Stop here if you're looking for espresso with notes and not a chain coffee taste. The espresso maple roll was delicious as was the gluten free rhubarb muffin. Left feeling very satisfied. :)
The chowder was perfect but the salmon was a little dry. The service was very good and really tried to help with our gluten free requirements. Unfortunately, there weren't a lot of GF options . Otherwise, the whole experience was good.
The only thing that would make this experience better is a plastic tray or paper trays because all we got was paper wrapped Crab legs and a claw opener. I found myself having to do origami to keep my food off the ledge where we were sitting facing the water. There are rumors the King Crab is not from Alaska. I wish that the location of the Crab was disclosed on a white board or something. We avoided king for this reason and the snow and dungunous was good. The unfortunate thing is it was cold enough our butter got thick half way thru our dining and the way we got our food wasn't clear at first. All this being said I enjoyed the food, the soda fountain tasted glorious, the hand washing station was a welcome touch and I loved the secondary location with a calmer smaller vibe. Woman at register was kind and helpful with allergies.
I have celiac and I'd come here again and I felt safe to eat here. The rice quality was excellent and the slaw was spectacular.
Thankful that we found this place downtown. Simple, little cafe with a great menu for coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and lunch. Gluten free and vegan options. Service was relatively quick, albeit not very friendly (similar to many other places we've gone to in Anchorage).
I love stoping at BurgerFI when I'm traveling through Anchorage. The food is great and the service is always great. Lani at the front counter is very nice and has excellent customer service. They also have gluten free buns so that is a huge plus for me.
I'm gluten intolerant. When he offered me different raps I told him which one was lower and gluten and he said I can wrap it and lettuce. He did a great job the flavors were awesome the tea was awesome. A different variance of chai tea from most people an uncannily similar to the one I make personally when I boil banana peelings.. the rice was very tasty with a little touch of saffron an overall my experience was very well and was under $20
Traveled through Sitka and made this a priority stop for their gluten-free offerings. The menu is creative and the food is outta sight. I had the Kimchi fries and the black cod onigiri. If I lived closer than 4,000 miles away, I'd be there every week.
Fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere. The food was well executed and delicious. Very good wine list too. Several mocktail options. And vegan, gluten free items for those who have dietary restrictions. Can't wait to go back. Worth the drive from Anchorage.
Fantastic Pizza!
I got the Chicken Pesto Pizza on the Gluten Free Cauliflower crust and it is amazing! It does take a while like all Cauliflower Pizzas however but it’s well worth the wait!!
Completely adored this restaurant and gift shop! We enjoyed two wine flights and the Alaskan charcuterie board. The black cod and salmon smears were delicious and the smoked black cod pieces were also amazing! It was super nice to have some gluten free cracker and bread options too. Their space is so cute and quaint and private…but then grand at the same time, as their window view is incredible. The staff were so nice and really knowledgeable about the area, which was super helpful. We saw orcas while enjoying the delicious wine and food!
Best GF cookies (maybe gluten-filled cookies also amazing?)!! Love their tea and plant-based mylk selections. Great service, delicious & healthy fare and sweet outdoor -only seating. Order online to save on wait times!
This is such a cool spot! We drove down from Anchorage last fall just to come here and right after we ordered the power went out. They refunded us, but I wasn’t able to make it back until recently and was excited to finally try the shakin’ bacon waffle (pictured, but I ate most of it first). It did not disappoint! I ordered it gluten free - I have celiac and had no issues with this order. I also got a firebox freeze and it was a perfect addition to the waffle.
Great gluten free bun so the 49th St Burger was great. However, they asked if I want fries and I said I did but what they didn't tell me is that they are breaded...very disappointed. Over all good experience but they have room to improve.
Absolutely delicious and very strong delicious coffee. Sweet kind employees. Very fresh cookies. Outstanding gluten free cookies and great variety of them also. Matcha white chocolate macadamia blew my mind. They have red velvet. And many other gf cookies freshly baked. Like WHAT!!!! so good. Thank you for being one of the very few places in Alaska maybe even the USA that makes an amazing variety of GF cookies. Do wish there was some gf giant pretzel options as well that would be something nice to have something GF savory also. Thank you.
Sincerely
A very grateful celiac
This is an amazing restaurant! We love coming here as a family and sharing the vegetarian platter. We will be back over and over! I wish they used the traditional injera which is gluten free, but I understand it can be hard to get. I would happily pay more for ensuring it's gluten free! We can't wait to come back.
I ordered a steak burger. Because I have celiac disease, I asked if they had gluten free buns, and of course the answer was no, but they said they would give me lettuce. It was overcooked, and one small piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato. I had to eat it or go hungry!
Owner is so sweet. Food was great, even have gluten free bread! The best fudge I have ever had.
The little shop had so many cute things to buy.
Definitely worth stopping by!!
This place was absolutely delicious!!! Has nice gluten free options but also spectacular customer service! A huge family order was completed within fifteen minutes of ordering with fresh, hot food… a worker was so kind that she helped me carry the bags to my car even. After that kind of service it made the food taste that much better lol. My first time but I will be returning no doubt!!!
Order 10 boxes lunches, including a gluten free one, to be picked up by our excursion outfitter. They were easy to work with, their website easy to use, and the food was as expected/ordered. Would order from again
Beautiful views, plenty of gluten free and vegan / vegetarian options. Everything is super fresh and almost everything is made in house. It was delicious and I can't wait to come back. The hot sauces rock, I had the hottest and the hot and they were both super flavorful while still packing some serious fire. Plenty of outdoor seating. There is a Thai Truck next door that I will try soon!
I really loved the coffee. It is definitely not Starbucks I'm just gonna say that. You can actually taste the coffee in your coffee ☕😋. Very impressed. Did not try the food but they do have healthy meal plans and gluten free options which is fantastic.
Great food, gluten free hot dogs(home made). Buns I'm going to sat is not celiac friendly, but if your gluten sensitive you should be ok I was. The guy was as nice as can be.
Food is good. Expect a wait as it’s popular and they cook food right after each order then take the next order. Option for your protein to be blackened, locally caught fish if you’re wanting to eat seafood as you look out at the ocean. Otherwise they have pork and beef. We ordered the bowl, taco plate, and birria tacos. Gluten free and vegetarian options available. The owner was pretty rude to me, but the lady taking orders was great. I have celiac so I was trying to ask what the options were for their menu items marked gluten free. The lady doing my order was working with me in options when the cook (assuming the owner) flipped out and said I couldn’t eat from his truck. Ended up coming to a compromise if I’d eat the bowl without any items from the grill to avoid cross contamination risk. Would be nice for the future for the guy to recognize people will ask questions if he has his menu marked and recognize celiacs traveling are willing to compromise when there’s risk. Otherwise would recommend!
Great spot in Palmer for brunch! They recently expanded and the new dining area is really cute! The gluten-free waffle bar is delish! Have been multiple times now and never disappointed!
There's so much to love about this place! The quiet, relaxed atmosphere is wonderful for a quiet place to work, study, or read.. or enjoy with a friend. The pastries are very tasty, and there's always gluten-free options! The drinks are good, matcha oatmilk latte is my favorite. I appreciate that mushroom powders can be added to drinks for health benefits (Chaga, Lion's Mane, Cordyceps, Reishi). There is a lot of art for sale up on the walls, as well as prints available.
Been going for years.... fiance asked if they had a gluten free burger they said they could do a lettuce wrap. Asked for no cheese no onion they give us a plain patty with two pieces of lettuce no sauce no pickles nothing. Asked for a refund and was refused and argued with by employee. Don't ask for modifications on their menu I guess. 15 dollars for a patty and a piece of iceberg lettuce
