Non Gluten Eaters— This review is for you. We were looking for somewhere to eat dinner where we could watch a hockey game and I could eat decent food as a gluten free eater.
Taverna Rossa had a good amount of TVs and a gluten free menu to make those options accessible and easy to find. They verified whether I had an allergy.
I tried the chips & queso, which I enjoyed. The GF vegan pizza crust was decent and the amount of toppings on it was a good balance.
I also tried a cider and their root beer on tap.
The service was good (even helping me find a good table to have multiple views of TVs for our party). Great that the restrooms were clean too.
I’d definitely recommend trying out this place if you’re looking for either of these things!
Excellent food, great atmosphere! Burger in a bowl was a much better version than any other restaurant's bunless burger that I can think of. I'm not sure why no burger places have low-carb buns. They all seem to cater to gluten-free, but there are way more people low carb than gluten-free out there.
There were two of us eating with a gluten allergy. Mason was our server. He helped up find delicious food to accommodate. He happily went to the kitchen and made sure he was giving us good information. Try the candied bacon, edamame, pb&j burger and the tequila old fashion. Food, atmosphere and service was perfect. We’ll be back with my puppy dog!

Was informed that the items on the gluten free menu are not gluten free even though it says that. I got sick off their appetizer and the owner proceeded to tell me how my allergy should take 2-3 hours to cause symptoms - which is absolutely not true. They brought out the main meal while I was in the bathroom sick as anything even though I took my allergy meds to try to counteract it. I didn’t eat my meal but the owner said since they made it I need to pay for it. They also brought out my gluten free dish and put it in front of the other family member and put the gluten dish where I was sitting. The final thing was a female employee or manager tried stopping me from leaving accusing me of not paying even though I paid and even left the server a tip. Would never go here again.
Well, this a happy review. We have generally avoided this place since our first visit, but my Celiac daughter is in town from UT, and she had a hankering for a burger. We just realized that Rodeo Goat has a gluten free bun, so we tried it again. First of all, easy to find a seat. Open, warm, and inviting with several available seating options inside and outside. Seat yourself. Our waiter was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, and respectfully attentive. Drinks came out on time, and the appetizer followed nicely along. Our main dishes were served at the exact same time, and they were hot and fresh. Lots of places have gluten-free buns, but very few have one that is worth going to. Bean, gave her bun a 9 out of 10! So, good job. The rest of the meals were very good. Chips and salsa were great, but I am not sure if they do free refills. All of the burgers were cooked to order, and special orders were respected and fulfilled. I particularly enjoyed my Cheese Fries Surprise with brisket chili. I substituted fries for tater-tots. That's my thing. They got all of the minor menu requests done exactly. We walked out with 4 enthusiastic thumbs up and left overs.

I wanted to send a huge thank you to Lindsey. When I was there last week, I let her know about my gluten allergy, and she was so incredibly considerate and helpful. She was one of the most thoughtful restaurant staff members I have met, and I’m so grateful to her!
This restaurant had five stars from my family until today. I ordered carryout for our typical order that’s $250+. My elementary school daughter is celiac and has to eat gluten free options. Her order tonight was terrible. We order this regularly, too. The pasta was far undercooked (crunchy, not merely al dente), and the sauce was an awfully sour and watery green mess. The cooks forgot half the recipe in the sauce, no pine nuts, no cheese, no capers. Very disappointing. Now, I have to source new food for her at 8:30 at night.
I am gluten free. The chef personally came to my table to make sure my meal would be cooked in such a way to not make me sick. He altered the recipe just slightly to allow me to eat something on the menu not normally gluten free. What a great experience.
The gluten free bun is amazing! Tastes like real bread.
Before coming gluten free I’d get their normal bun and it’s one of my favorite normal buns out there.
The burger has never disappointed. The fries are good too. Not sure if they are considered GF or not.
The service has always been good too. We’ve never waited on our food for long when we’ve been.
This was my first time at Mesero and it didn't disappoint! The food was great and the service was even better. They had gluten free items as well as vegetarian options so I was very happy.
And the cheeky sign in the bathroom made me laugh!!
I had the chicken avocado cesar salad and it was the best I’ve had! My daughter loves the gluten free macaroni with salmon and kale. I can’t wait to go back!
Excellent burger place. They can pretty much make any burger vegetarian by replacing the patty with a vegetarian one.
But their appetizers that are fried are all done in beef lad. Very glad to know this from the waitress that attended our table.
Excellent service and our waitress, Sophia, was really good once she understood our vegetarian/vegan requirements. She suggested things and told us what we can and can't have. Very much thankful to Sophia.
The burgers are very well done and tasted good. You like heading there a bit spicy? Simply add either fresh or pickled jalapenos.
The ambience of the place is rustic, tough and dark - pretty cool and nice.
The gluten free chips are a bit salty but they are prepackaged and not made in house. Feel free to skip then altogether.
This is a great fast casual Mexican food place. It is definitely a new go to when our family is craving tacos. They have wide selection of regular options and innovative Weekly specials.
It is also good with Gluten free selections also.
This place is a gluten free and dairy free gem! Vegan options too. I enjoyed the gluten free modification of Vegan Bliss pancakes with a side of chicken sausage and 2 scrambled eggs and green tea with stevia. The chicken sausage pattie is homemade and so good I started looking it up on Pinterest how to make it. Server was super friendly and attentive. Order came out fast and omg it was such a treat and delicious. I will be back whenever I’m in town. This one gets a favorite tag.
They accidentally gave me the wrong burger, but before I could even walk up to the counter to tell them, I was approached by (I think but never confirmed) the manager asking if everything was ok. I told him and he apologized profusely and said he would get it fixed in just a few minutes. All I was hoping for was the right burger, but he went above and beyond to make it right. I've had worse experiences at other restaurants without an offer to even make it right, so I fully appreciate this level of customer care. The only thing that could have made for a better experience was if I didn't have to eat my burger on a gluten free bun, but that's my own fault.
Enjoyed lunch with some coworkers. Table ordered fajitas, skinny enchiladas and meat skewers, can't remember the name. Worked well for the gluten free and keto eaters. Waitress was nice and didn't feel rushed. It was rainy so a little slow. Want to visit again on a nice day and sit on the patio.
Stopped in to grab a couple sandwiches on 10/25/23 around 330PM, and ordered two gluten free sandwiches. The guy working the counter was fantastic! He cleaned up everything (counter, deli machine, etc) for our sandwiches (allergy) and make fantastic sandwiches. Cannot recommend this place enough.
It was our first time here but it won’t be our last.
I ordered gluten free and also paid extra for sour cream. I got regular which seemed suspicious and went to to the counter to ask and they’re like it’s gluten feee. I got sick within 15 min of eating it. It was not gluten free and I didn’t get my sour cream. Staff doesn’t care to accurately answer questions and seemed annoyed that I asked .
Food was good but very inconsiderate about allery specification mentioned while ordering.
When we were ordering we mentioned about gluten allery and whether the gluten free option for bread is available. We were said yes and we ordered the same. But we received normal bread.
When we mentioned to the server about it, he did not acknowledge we were served wrong and said it was not his fault.
We recently tried this place, and we were so happy we did!
The pizza tastes so good! Lots of options to customize to your liking. The gluten free also tastes just as great, so that’s always a great option to be able to get.
They had little samples of the desserts and we tried the tiramisu and cheesecake and both were delicious.
The staff is super duper friendly. Very welcoming.
Definitely will be getting from here again.
One of the best pizza places around. I recently had to go gluten free, and this if the first place that has GF that tastes like a normal crust. So good
These flavors are worth trying. There is something for all diets, gluten free, sugar free, milk free! The entire place is so clean and pristine, I’m very impressed! It was an overall very favorable experience
If you’re sensitive to gluten, dairy, MSG this place is great! Staff was very knowledgeable about which items I could have and I had no issues afterwards. I’ll be back!
My favorite deli spot. Helpful staff and the best softserve!! SO thankful they offer gluten-free bread options!!! Just wish more of the soup options were gluten-free also.
Dimassi’s Mediterranean Buffet in Plano delivers an exceptional all-you-can-eat experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were impressed by the vast array of dishes—over 60 options including fresh-made pita, smokey falafel, stuffed grape leaves, hearty soups, vibrant salads, and flavorful meat and veggie entrees.
The quality and freshness stood out: hot dishes were constantly refreshed, salads were crisp and tangy, and the grilled meats were perfectly seasoned and juicy. Everything we tried was vibrant and well-executed—roasted cauliflower, sumac chicken, lentil soup, kebabs, and more—all delicious.
The buffet is ideal for varied dietary preferences. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten‑free options are clearly marked, and the vegetarian section is completely separate, making it easy to navigate.
Overall, Dimassi’s offers great value, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you crave kebabs, vegan dips, or comforting soups, this buffet has something for everyone. We’ll definitely be back—and so should you!
It's ALWAYS something with this location. I've tried giving them multiple chances for the past few years with consistent results.
If they don't forget to give you part of your meal, they salt the food until it's COMPLETELY INEDIBLE.
They can't even get their curbside pick-up straight. 20 minutes after calling for curbside pick-up, nothing happened.
[Update]
Thinking we'd give this location one LAST CHANCE, we tried dinning in instead of a pickup order. During the meal an employee decided to open the upwind dumpster, and leave it open. The smell of rotting garbage quickly put an end to our appetite. Even politely suggesting to staff that the open dumpster was causing a problem with the "atmosphere," and should be closed, didn't result in action.
BTW, save your money... CostCo has ORGANIC tomato soup that tastes better, and costs less. Oh, and marketing? Saying your tomato soup is gluten free, is like saying your soup is asbestos free. You would have to add wheat for there to be gluten in the soup.
Burnt BBQ Catering absolutely crushed it at my party! Professional, reasonably priced, punctual, and Tim was super friendly as he served the food. The food was incredible—tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Working with Tim leading up to the event was easy and let us make adjustments as the event neared. They even accommodated the gluten free crowd without asking. My sister said "the rice was the star of the show for me - when is rice ever so good it's the star" ... that's how good this pace is. Everyone raved about it and kept asking, "Where is this from?!" SUPPORT LOCAL
Highly recommend!
CW has had plenty of reviews, but I wanted to add to that.
My husband and I visited as part of the #PlanoFoodies program.
I made a reservation via OpenTable because they are downright busy on a Saturday evening!
We were greeted (we were on time) and quickly seated.
After we ordered our bottle of wine, I asked for recommendations. I was excited because many of them aligned with what I was excited about on the menu.
No appetizers for us, but we ordered the Filet and the Grilled Chicken/Fig sandwich (with Goat Cheese). I really wanted the steak fries side, and so many sides sounded great (especially the mac-n-cheese). I settled for the Caesar salad since I wasn't terrible hungry.
Mmmmmm. The Filet and mashed potatoes were great. The Chicken/Fig/GoatCheese sandwich was fantastic. The Caesar salad was awesome too! We took some of it home.
We ordered Port Wine along with the Brownie (gluten-free) dessert! The port was great, but I have to brag on that GF Brownie!!! You won't believe it's gluten-free! Wow!
We talked about how we will be back. We love this area, but the great service and great food!
If you are one of the few people like us who have not visited, please do so. Great menu selections!
Nice place for pasta , pizza sandwiches soups and salads. They have a good vegetarian options too to choose from. We had portebella mushroom pizza , pimento cheese sandwich and tomato basil soup. Food was good , prices were decent. It’s a nice huge place to seating is not a concern and has good seating options . Perfect for healthy eaters . They do have cauli crust pizza introduced newly so yeah we have some gluten free and Leto options too.
I was really disappointed. I paid $33 for salty salmon and bread that was still frozen. The server offered to replace the bread but it never came. I mentioned it when I asked to pay my bill and it was all excuses with no apology and no compensation.
It was an entire act of congress for colleague to find out if the meat was gluten free and her New York Style gluten free pizza dough was still raw when she received it. Pineapple and Canadian Bacon was all that was on it.
Highly disappointed and I doubt I would try again. Pretty sad considering they have a lot of good reviews.
Holy Moly, what an amazing experience!
The atmosphere, decor, vibe, friendly and fast service, DELICIOUS food was amazing! They even have gluten free pancakes !! I havent had pancakes in a while! And they are delicious! Our server Sezai was amazing!! The manager came by and she was incredible too! Thank you for making such an amazing atmosphere Susi!
I can't say enough good things about this restaurant!
I called ahead and spoke with Jimmy, the manager, to set up a team lunch for our company (13 people). I also had to explain that I have Celiac Disease and needed to make sure I could eat there safely. Jimmy assured me that I could be accommodated.
When we got there, we were warmly greeted by Fernando and shown to our tables. He was so gracious and wonderful! When I told him I was the "troublemaker" of the bunch because of my CD, he just smiled and said, "We can take care of you! Most of the food is gluten free and I can tell you which ones to avoid because of cross contamination."
I'll just skip to the best part...Fernando handled our large group like a champ! The whole meal was pleasant and went off without a hitch. Everyone commented on how good the food was and how wonderful the service was. You can bet we will be back.
Thank you, Jimmy and Fernando and Meso Maya!
This place is now our new favorite restaurant for Japanese BBQ. The service and the food are incredible AND they have a ton of gluten free items!! All marked! Celiac and have never gotten sick.
We had a wonderful time. The service and management were exceptional. We will definitely be back. The avocado chocolate cake was delicious. I loved all the gluten free choices.
Solid breakfast spot with gluten free options (waffles, pancakes, English muffins, hash browns). Food was home style and very good. I recommend the gluten free dollar size pancakes!
Service was friendly and a bit forgetful. Only downside was the coffee tasted burnt like it was sitting for too long.
Happy they have gluten free bread. Skip the other chain sub places cone here. Much more interesting options. I'm not a chain guy but for a quick bite on the road or when you throw someone a loop when you say you have a gluten intolerance but still insist on a lunch meeting this place is great.
