Food was ok, came out quickly and service was great but it was busy and relatively loud while we were dining. The ramen was the most disappointing to me- noodles seemed borderline overcooked and the broth was just salty but with little actual flavour. I found it to be some of the more blah vegan dishes I’ve had in a while. It was either super spicy or just tasted like rice. The vegan cream cheese seemed a little off to be honest but that’s on me for not saying anything. I will say they’re great at accommodating allergies as I’ve heard they’ve accommodated gluten free + avocado allergy.
Gluten free: menu was pretty lacking. Our rolls were a bit bland and they won't adjust their specials, such as the $70 for Two dinner, to incorporate gluten free options even when it's a simple swap. That enough soured me to not want to come back. I found it a bit overpriced for the food we got, considering it was plainer than the regular rolls but cost the same. Go elsewhere, like Kru or Fish Face. Servers were great, it's just an administrative issue on how they run their menu for those of us with special dietary needs.
This place is fantastic.
I have celiac and a wheat/oat allergy and the staff was knowledgeable about all allergens for menu items. I had no bad reactions to the food afterward.
The food is delicious too - I'm an omnivore who eats vegan/vegetarian a decent amount. It stands amongst some of my favorite restaurants ever (non vegan included). Did not think it being vegan detracted from flavor whatsoever.
Highly recommend, especially if you have gluten sensitivity.
Not only is everything fresh, they also accommodate gluten and shellfish allergies. Our favorite is the 2 for $70 deal. Definitely enough food to share and you get dessert. We've tried almost everything and enjoy the differences each roll has.
Great gluten free options with a well labeled menu. Our Waiter said everything that goes in the fryer is gluten free (fried chicken, potatos, fries, etc)
Good prices too
We had a fabulous dinner. You can’t find a better beach view. The ambiance is warm, comfortable and beautiful. The food was excellent. I’m so tired of having mediocre food and being disappointed. The service was outstanding. Our server was attentive and made good suggestions. I can’t wait to go back. There were so many things I wanted to try. They have a gluten free menu which made ordering food easy. This will be a favorite place !
We've been here quite a few times and every experience has been amazing! Great food and great staff! Every server we have had has been so kind and takes our gluten/shellfish allergy very seriously. Never had an issue :). Highly recommend this place!
Kosher Chinese meat restaurant with good service and good food. Gluten-free food is available and listed on a separate menu.
We had a pleasant dining experience.
Gluten free friendly. Gluten free soy sauce and they do up a non marinated chicken for me and do Gluten free fried rice. Sushi is great and always taste good and fresh.
Usually, this place is packed. And for good reason. Since my wife and I can't eat gluten or dairy and I get off work late sometimes, this place is our go-to. Order when I leave work, pick up, and go. Staff is quick, kind, and sure to check the order belongs to you. Love that, love them.
Wonderful service. Good food. Some gluten free options. Everything is vegan. Had the spring rolls, mango sushi, broccoli and fries. Everything was tasty.
I have Celiac (avoid gluten like my life depends on it). Tons of options. Super safe/ knowledgeable about cross contamination. EXCELLENT service (shoutout Catalina). Steak, broccolini and mashed was amazing w the peppercorn sauce.
100% recommend
The server was amazing. Very understanding of celiac and it sounds like they take it very seriously. She explained to me they use separate utensils and very familiar with what is needed to keep celiacs safe. She said she’s worked there 10 years and no one has got sick on her watch. Sushi was very tasty. Didn’t feel sick after eating here. Would throughly recommend to celiacs!

We had a great lunch at P.F. Chang’s and I was very happy to find several gluten-free options clearly marked on the menu. There is a $1 upcharge for gluten-free versions.
I have celiac disease and had no symptoms after eating here.
We visited during lunch and ordered from the lunch special menu, which offered a really good value.
I had the following glutenfree options:
• Cup of Egg Drop Soup
• Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps – absolutely delicious! A perfect mix of textures and flavors, one of the highlights of the meal.
• Beef with Broccoli served with white rice – also super flavorful and well-balanced.
Prices were:
• $16.99 for the beef lunch combo (includes starter + entrée)
• $17.29 for the lettuce wrap combo (includes starter + entrée)
Everything was clearly labeled, the flavors were spot on, and I felt safe and well cared for as someone with celiac.
blown away by the service and food here
I want to give a massive shoutout to Issac who truly went above and beyond during my visit. I have celiac disease and often find dining out stressful, especially when staff don’t understand or make it awkward. But not here—Issac handled everything with total grace and professionalism.
When I casually mentioned I had celiac while asking about ingredients, he immediately understood what I meant—no loud questions, no awkward explanations, and definitely no judgment. Instead of brushing it off or making me feel uncomfortable, he double-checked every ingredient and made sure to avoid cross-contamination. He even changed his gloves, got fresh containers from the back, and scooped everything safely—just for my bowl. That level of care is incredibly rare, and honestly, it meant the world to me.
The whole team. There is very nice and accommodating
And let’s talk about the food— Their poke is consistently fresh, flavorful, and fun. They always have exciting new options, like unique fish selections and tons of house-made sauces, many of which are gluten-free and clearly labeled. The miso soup is delicious, the nigiri is top-notch, and they’ve recently added more sushi and Spam musubi to the menu.
This place checks all the boxes: incredible service, outstanding food, safe for gluten-free folks like me, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’ll absolutely be coming back again and again. If you’re anywhere near this spot, do yourself a favor and go—you’ll be glad you did
Great place for dinner, food was tasty, drinks were great. More than that the place is Gluten free friendly, we have celiac and waiters were very knowledgeable, knew about cross contamination, and recommended accordingly on dishes that will suit us. Gluten free sushi!!
Went for the happy hour and it was yummy! Honestly, not a huge price difference between happy hour and non happy hour pricing (avg $1 difference), so don't feel the need to rush down.
Edamame was surprisingly spicy, scallops were yummy but the tuna nigiri was disappointing and tasted fishy.
My favorite was the extinguisher roll (not part of the happy hour), but it came with fire and was very yummy!!
Great thing about this place is that their menu has gluten free options labelled out and their soy sauce is gluten free too!
Jackson was truly incredible, if you’re ready for amazing service with equally as incredible food, look no further than OTO. And PS it’s all gluten free!!
Food was delicious. Highly recommend for gluten free allergy they are very accommodating. Their spicy tuna crispy rice is also delicious and very affordable! ($9 for 4 large pieces). In fact the whole menu was affordable. The ride for rolls is a bit loose and falls apart in soy sauce, but the service, affordability, and overall deliciousness makes this a must have. I will be returning!
I was so lucky to try out a few dishes. The server was very polite and understood I was celiac. So he helped me decide what to order. It’s difficult as it is plus asking a chef to accommodate my order. They did a wonderful job. The food was so good!!!
Would come back anytime.
My husband loved the fried sushi and sister ordered beef teriyaki.
Great sushi spot.
My only cons with this spot are the prices. Just expect to pay top tier prices for sushi… but the restaurant vibe and experience is nice. I went lunch time for bento box (gluten free teriyaki beef & sushi rolls.
A simple California roll with real crab was $15 for lunch special… just to put into perspective how expensive it is. Quality is great though if you’re looking for a treat. Sopporo beer was nice. Also got the freaky edamame for a starter. Little spicy for my liking. Would rather of had the garlic edamame.
I included their large menu in my photos.
Highly sensitive celiac here and this was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Was amazing and the staff made me feel so comfortable. Had zero reaction. Food was awesome. Highly recommend
This place is in a great location with a beautiful view on patio. It's close to a shopping center with musicians playing (busking) which adds to the ambiance. The food & drinks were delicious. I have celiacs and the waiter was careful to double check ingredients so I could dine without worry.
We were there on a cool evening and the staff turned on the outdoor heaters for us which was kind so we could be more comfortable dining outdoors.
Food was delicious and service first rate. One of our party has celiac disease. They handled this easily with their gluten free menu. Can't wait to go back!
We went to Sushi Taisho for dinner last night, and it was such a great experience! We shared a nice bottle of sake, ordered multiple rolls, and even got individual hand rolls—which were generously portioned and delicious. One of our friends needed gluten-free options, and they had plenty available, which was great.
The service was excellent—super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself is really cute and cozy, with a warm atmosphere. It’s located upstairs in Carlsbad, so there’s a nice little view of the area, and you can even see the train coming in. Plus, you can hear live music from downstairs, which adds to the fun vibe.
The seafood was super fresh, the space was clean, and everything we tried was fantastic. We went as a group of four, got seated without a problem, and had a great time splitting different rolls and trying new things. Definitely a highly recommended spot!
I have celiac disease and Kappa has a lot of great gluten free options for rolls. Most rolls can be made GF. You can also ask for a GF menu from the server. They are well-versed in food safety to prevent cross-contact with gluten.
Gluten-free options a great fusion between Indian and Thai excellent service with every attention to detail and specifically the Burmese chili Shrimp dish was fantastic.
Amazing sushi dinner! We had a BBQ albacor and Beet poke for appetizers. Then moved to Mushroom and Lilly roll along with Nigri seared tuna and a glass of Pinot Noir. Our waitress was Danni and she was fantastic. We were a challenging table with a vegan and gluten free diners. Danni rose to the occasion and we were delighted with our food and service. We would highly recommend Yugen Cuisine and will return to dine again!
This is our favorite restaurant in South Lake Tahoe. We take all our guest here. Real wasabi, fresh fish, great sushi rice, yummy miso, awesome staff, delicious drinks and always accommodates my gluten free choices. They even have a gluten free menu. We are locals so don’t eat out much but when we do it’s because we are craving this restaurant. Thank you for always being a great go to and serving up the best sushi in town 🤩✨🫶🙌🏼
Lots of gluten free options. Staff were very knowledgeable and Tamari was provided as standard instead of soy sauce. Sushi rolls and nigiri were great! The Giddy Geisha cocktail was impeccable!!!!
Food allergy review:
I rarely leave a place without ordering, but the gluten-free menu at this place is an actual lie. They don’t have any indications about cross-contamination risk on their paper menus.
I first asked about whether they had a dedicated fryer for the gluten-free fish and chips. They said no. I understand that sometimes there’s confusion about fryers, so I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt.
I then began asking about their grilled entrees and quickly learned they were unsafe too. For example, they had a black cod special on the menu that was marked as gluten-free. I asked whether the caramelized fish sauce was gluten free, and they said yes. I then asked if it was made in-house, and they said no they just caramelize store-bought fish sauce. I asked to see ingredients on the label, and the first ingredient was wheat.
Then they began insisting that the second special, a grilled halibut with a green verde sauce, was gluten-free. I asked whether the verde sauce had beer and they could not answer me and said they could leave it off. I also never got a clear answer on whether the masa dumplings had any additional flour added or if the baking powder contained gluten, or whether they steamed them with water previously used for gluten-filled kitchen items.
I explained that this meant the items were not gluten-free, and was told the manager believes these things to be gluten-free.
This is very much a place that calls itself gluten-free to appeal to fad dieters. Stay away at all costs if you have an allergy or celiac disease. I don’t have a problem with places not having the resources to accommodate gluten-free people (it’s hard to do so!), but be honest about it. For many people, it’s a matter of life or death to claim boldly that something is gluten-free without actual knowledge.
This place is the first time I've tried JBBQ and I gotta say the meat selection is out of this world. I'm really happy that the sauces come gluten free so I can finally eat really delicious yakiniku.
