Pizza Pie-er is my favorite Rhode Island Pizza. They have by far the best gluten free pizza. Great choices and the service is always top notch. I have been a customer for over 20 years.
We sat outside and had a lovely meal. Plenty of gluten free options! I had the seafood paella which was delicious- as well as the queijo fresco and frijole dip and. They do not have a dedicated gluten free fryer so tortilla chips weren’t suitable for me, but they did provide vegetables and blue corn tortillas as a celiac safe substitution! Overall a great choice with tasty and affordable options! Would recommend a reservation for dinner though!
***Summary***
-High quality noodles (Jahunger Noodle, Original Meefen), lesser quality meats
-Cute, flexible house-inspired interior with kind service/hospitality
-Uyghur cuisine
-Was in and out in ~35 minutes
***By Dish***
1) Jahunger Noodle (Entree)
-Especially enjoyed the chewy, savory noodles. Had a strong onion flavor that could be a bit overpowering. Beef pieces were flavorful but tough and did not taste very fresh.
2) Original Meefen (Entree)
-This dish was my sneaky favorite of the day. Expecting a mushier texture, the gluten-free rice noodles were soft, fresh, with a subtle chewiness. I loved the chili oil taste and appreciated the added texture of the crispy soybeans. The minced chicken was not the feature of this dish, but still soaked up the flavor well.
3) Lamb Samsa (Appetizer)
-While this looked appetizing, the dish lacked flavor and overall, the theme of lesser quality meats showed itself once again. It helped to dip the samsa into the Original Meefen chili oil!
This place is a must visit spot. They have the most creative and delicious pizza slices. I can't have their pizza anymore as I'm now gluten free but I still dream of their preprepared slices. I used to get at least three different ones even though they are huge! The kitchen-sink pizza is amazing. Now I go for their amazing antipasto salad.
