Saw this on Instagram. We were in a hurry and didn’t review the menu before we went. Not authentic Thai food. Ordered the Pad Ka Prow and had 95% green beans and maybe 2 tablespoons of ground meat. I get the overall healthy, gluten free nature but if you want real Thai then this is not it. I should have been clued in by the location.
Expect a swanky vibe with modern decor, flavorful ramen options, and guests raving about the unique spicy, creamy twists in every bowl.

I had one of the worst dining experiences at this restaurant while visiting my kids. They heard about this place and wanted to try it. We love all kinds of Ramen and are always excited to try new places. This place was nearly empty, yet the service and atmosphere were shockingly bad.
When we arrived, the only person on the floor was a man who looked like the chef—Asian man in a black chefs uniform who saw us but didn’t acknowledge us at all. Instead, he let us stand there for a while till he turned away and just shouted “DOOR,” seemingly to get an employee’s attention rather than greeting us himself. Someone burst out of the kitchen and we were seated—right next to the expo line, where we had the unfortunate privilege of hearing the staff mock customers based on their appearance and speak very vulgarly about each other and guests.
Despite the restaurant being empty at the time, we waited nearly 10 minutes before anyone came to greet us. The chef, who had ignored us earlier, continued to act as if we didn’t exist, even though he keep looking our way through the gaps of the space divider from the expo line to the table right next to it. When our server finally arrived, they looked absolutely miserable—like they hated every second of being there. We had a simple question about nuts in the special, and when our server went to ask, we overheard the chef loudly berating them for not knowing. The poor server came back visibly shaken, and at that point, we decided to avoid asking any more questions for their sake.
Later, a short woman with black hair—who I assume was the floor manager—arrived and immediately made everyone’s lives miserable. I watched her micromanage and stress out the already struggling staff, all while we waited 15 minutes for edamame and then almost 40 minutes for food in an empty restaurant. Every employee looked like they wanted to be anywhere else but there.
The food itself was completely unimpressive. They only have ONE broth, throwing random toppings on it and calling it different styles of ramen. I’ve had better instant ramen straight out of a plastic bag. I saw someone online compare their ramen to "dog water"—they were not wrong. The vegan option just sad. And dont even bother about coming here if you have celiac.
On top of that, the atmosphere was disgusting. Stained ceilings, cracked crown molding, food all over the floor, the tables were sticky and peeling and had food stuck under a circular shaped base that was bolted into the ground (stupid idea), it smelled bad, and despite the restaurant being empty, they sat us right next to the bathroom. To make things worse, they weren’t serving alcohol, blaming it on being "understaffed"—though it seemed more like the managers just didn’t want to do their jobs. If it were super busy, I'd understand but why have a whole bar in an empty restaurant and blame being "understaffed" for not serving me a drink on your menu. Sounds like someone has no idea what they are doing to me.
The only bright spot? The servers. They were polite despite everything, but they were clearly under appreciated and mistreated. It was honestly painful to watch.
Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Terrible management, gross atmosphere, miserable employees, and mid-tier food at best. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
If i could give this place 0 stars, I'd give it -2
The food was tasty, the staff were attentive, the atmosphere was cute. But there is NOT very much gluten free options. In general, this place is not allergen friendly. If you have no allergies though, it's great!!! Also, the mid-day menu is pretty limited
Enjoy a unique culinary journey with thoughtful dishes, memorable flavors, and a beautiful outdoor setting that makes every visit special.

This was my second amazing meal at Uchi Austin! This time I brought even more people. For our visit to Austin, I put Uchi high on my must—dine list because the flavors were so memorable. Everything was delicious. Sour, umami, spicy, herbaceous, sweet-- they covered every note. We ordered a variety and took recommendations from our wonderful waiter (Armin? Armon? - I should have gotten the spelling). Two of us are gluten free, and two of us don’t even like seafood generally, and we still loved it. Most of the menu can be gluten free (get the ponzu sauce!). What a great memory.
With an energetic yet romantic vibe, this spot offers stunning dining experiences and top-notch service, making each visit special.

I can't believe I didn't try Uchiko sooner. Anna was a fantastic server and the food was amazing. My boyfriend and I wanted to keep the bill around $200, so I was worried we wouldn't get enough food. I had to unbutton my pants on the way home.
We're pretty indecisive, so we took Anna up on her offer to curate a menu for us based on our budget and likes/dislikes. Every single bite of the 9-course dinner was perfect. We got all our favorites (most of which we didn't mention - it felt like she was reading our minds), plus plenty of unique things that I never would've thought to order but turned out to be incredible. She checked in regularly to see what we liked so she could pick the next courses. Our feedback probably wasn't very helpful because we loved everything.
I mentioned my gluten intolerance in the reservation. Anna addressed it as soon as we were seated and went over the gluten-free options. The vast majority of the menu items were either gluten-free or could be modified. It really stood out to me that the food runners all specified that each dish they served was gluten-free. I didn't have to spend the meal worrying about miscommunications.
Our experience was on par with the Michelin-star restaurants I used to go to when I lived in NYC, but for a fraction of the price. Obviously the food was perfect. But what really set this experience apart was the service. I can't say enough good things about Anna, the bartenders, and the rest of the FOH staff. Everyone went above and beyond to take care of us and make us feel welcomed.
A top spot for creative pan-Asian cuisine with generous portions and a welcoming vibe that keeps everyone coming back for more.

Delicious Korean fusion spot, with a great gluten free selection. Staff was very knowledgeable about the menu and guiding me to both gluten free and dairy free options (the latter not too hard in Asian cuisine).
The portions are large and an appetizer and main dish some could be shared amongst friends depending on how hungry you are.
Expect a vibrant menu packed with bold flavors and family-style dining, perfect for a special occasion but on the pricier side.

Ate here for dinner with a friend tonight, absolutely delicious meal! Very impressed with their menu, everything we ordered was good! Plenty of gluten free items marked on their menu which made it very convenient for me to order. Only downside is the price - pretty expensive, so definitely an every once in a while or special occasion type of restaurant. Also skip the drinks, while they were good, they were pricey ($15-20), so save your money for the food!!
Experience top-notch vibes with friendly chefs, a fun atmosphere, and unique decor featuring swing seats and cherry blossoms.

I celebrated my birthday here, and hands down, this was the best dining experience I’ve had in Austin in the last three years. The ambiance, customer service, and music were all top-tier. I ordered the chef’s special—a five-course meal that turned into six, thanks to our incredible server, Kendra. She was thoughtful, kind, and knew the menu inside and out. Every recommendation she made was spot on. Plus, my lady is gluten- and dairy-free, and anytime a restaurant can accommodate her needs without skipping a beat, it’s a huge win. 5-star everything—can’t wait to come back!
A vibrant spot with a fantastic atmosphere, quick service, and stylish outdoor seating that's perfect for group outings and special bites.

We firsted tried Loro Asian Smokehouse & Bar via Postmates then our apartment catered from Loro which we found out to be the same place. After trying it twice, we want to experience Loro in person, especially given their expansive menu with so many items to try.
Crispy Chicken Sandwich ($13.95): This sandwich came with citrus-cabbage slaw, pickles, hot honey, and smoked hot sauce. They put the slaw and hot honey sauce on the side, but even after adding the slaw and dipping the sandwich in the sauce, it felt deconstructed and didn't quite come together. I think the slaw would have been better mixed with mayo instead of citrus, which didn't complement the chicken well. Unfortunately, the chicken itself was dry and lacked flavor.
Char Siew Pork Belly Bowl ($16.50): The pork belly was phenomenal but the portion size was small for the price, especially in contrast to the crispy chicken sandwich. There was barely any rice so they covered the bowl with a layer of veggies instead. The sauce it came with was really good and paired well with the fresh veggies.
Wonton Chips & Dip ($8): Wow these wonton pieces are huge and crispy. They paired well with the thai green salsa which I thought was chimichurri. Even with the salsa on, the wonton chips remained crispy for a long period of time.
Smoked Shishito Queso ($9.5): These weren't your average tortilla chips but were huge half moon, crispy chips topped with kimchi furikake. There were great with cheese and would have been better if they got it with protein.
Smoked Wings ($13.95): Even though the wings were cold by the time we ate them, we could still taste the smoky flavor. However, I was surprised to see the menu description mention miso blue cheese because I didn't taste it at all. The hot sauce was noticeable, but it wasn't spicy..
Smoked Beef Brisket ($18.95): This was one of the best briskets we've had! The meat was incredibly juicy and fatty, though you could easily trim the fat if preferred. The chili gastrique and Thai herbs complemented the brisket nicely, but honestly, the meat was so flavorful on its own that it didn't need much else.
Crispy Potatoes ($7.95): Unfortunately, the potatoes were hard, so we didn't enjoy them too much. They were seasoned with miso mustard, habanero aioli, and toasted white sesame, but the flavors were subtle and didn't stand out.
Sesame Rice Noodles ($7.95): These gluten-free noodles were tossed in a chili vinaigrette with black sesame, green onion, and cilantro. While they were decent, they didn't pair well with the brisket or wings. I'd only recommend ordering them as part of an entrée rather than as a standalone side.
Chocolate Chip Cookie ($3.95): The description says it has salted toffee and almonds but I didn't taste any almond. Nevertheless, the cookie was good, sweet, and a good size.
House Made Lemonade ($4): The lemonade was too sour for my taste, yet tasted surprisingly good mixed with beer.

I'm gluten free and the fact that the have gluten free dumplings?!?!!! Game over. The dumplings are so light and delicate and delicious. I've gotten I think all of the gluten free ones at different times? And they are all amazing. Big fan of their spicy chili oil and their bacon fried rice too! If you're feeling spicy, get the Le Hot - their spicy cocktail. Not too spicy and perfectly balanced!

If you’re looking for a Thai spot with a spicy twist, this place is worth a visit! The food was good overall, though the green curry, labeled as spicy, wasn’t quite as fiery as we expected—something to keep in mind if you love bold heat. The atmosphere is super calming, and the customer service was excellent, making the experience pleasant. The spicy edamame—absolutely delicious! Clear labels for vegan, gluten-free, and vegetarian options, making it accessible to everyone.

A great gluten free hot pot spot in Austin! The server was very knowledgeable and checked in on us several times even on a busy Saturday. Their menu and the buffet had clear labels for what had gluten (and nuts). There was even a note that you could request sauces and such straight from the kitchen if you are worried about cross contamination. Everyone has an individual pot so easy to keep everything separate. Everything was really delicious and the ambiance inside is great too! The best part was definitely the staff and their service. Seems like a fun place to bring a group! Would definitely recommend!

They say they have gluten free options but someone with celiacs comes in like myself, if you don’t ask about the “gluten free” items being put in the same fryer , you’ll absolutely get sick due to cross contamination. The onigiri was okay again no ingredients on what it’s seasoned with.
The chicken Katsu was beyond mediocre.
EDIT: i got the salmon, tuna and steak Onigiri that is listed gluten free, and i got sick on the drive home! I would say not gluten free! Completely unacceptable.

What a Hidden Gem!
As someone who has traveled across the U.S. and dined at over 200 Thai restaurants, I can confidently say I know my Thai food. Only about 5% of places make it to my coveted 5-star list—and this food truck is one of them!
The flavors here are absolutely amazing, proving that great food doesn’t need a fancy restaurant setting. The menu may be limited, but everything is 100% gluten-free and packed with flavor.
We tried the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Papaya Salad, and every dish was fantastic. The portions were generous, the seasoning was on point, and the overall quality blew us away.
To top it off, the service was exceptional. I had the chance to chat with the owner, who is as sweet as she is passionate about her craft.
If you’re looking for outstanding Thai food—especially if you need gluten-free options—this place is a must-try. Don’t miss it!

I love Thai Lada!!! They have a large selection of vegetarian options, and they're great about accommodating my gluten intolerance. As someone with sensory issues, I really appreciate the fact that they allow you to customize the spice level or make small modifications (such as leaving off certain vegetables.) The staff is friendly and the environment/ambiance is pleasant. Maybe entire family loves this place!

Lots and lots of gluten free options--I was impressed! All but one marinade is gluten free and all the dipping sauces are gluten free. Shishito pepper appetizer was very good, then I got a few meats.
