Not safe for celiacs. Had a gf pizza - which was very good - but still got glutened. Developed a very bad dermatitis herpetiformis the night after. Not safe

Amazing coeliac experience during the lunch run! When telling the waitress, they clearly outlined which meals were not GF, which meals could be made GF by substitution or which were already GF. Before I even got to double check with another waiter who later took our order, he double checked regarding the need to have seperate pasta water. They then informed us to ensure that the GF pasta was cooked correctly, it would take a little while longer, but was no real issue and only a matter of minutes.
The Scallop Entree was also made GF and so were the gelatos we ate afterwards (lemon & rosemary, rhubarb & Cointreau and pistachio). All to die for!
Nil reactions, amazing quality and flavours, Fantastic knowledge regarding GF and cross contamination.

Absolutely terrible experience...1/1/25. 6 15 pm.
Been told crepes are gluten free, maybe there are, but staff is using the same spaluta for flour crepes as well.
Cross contamination.
Asked with no ice cream, they put ice cream.
Take, away crepe is impossible to eat (strawberry and pistachio), as the fillings were are the bottom, and the crepe fall apart due to ice cream melting.
Returned to staff. No refund.
Please avoid.

This restaurant offers a truly unique dining experience, serving traditional Chinese cuisine that adheres to the Buddhist vegan tradition. This style of cooking, increasingly difficult to find even in modern China, showcases what we see as the true spirit of Chinese cuisine. The restaurant, run by the descendents of Mother Chu, who lived to the ripe age of 97, preserve these culinary traditions.
The protein options are varied and well-executed, ranging from wheat protein (gluten) to soy in its various forms. The food itself is flavorful and beautifully presented, demonstrating a clear commitment to quality. The service was enthusiastic and warm, adding to the pleasant atmosphere. The decor is appropriately Chinese, featuring handwritten texts that enhance the overall ambiance.
However, one area that could use improvement is the restrooms. They could benefit from some sprucing up to align with the high standards set by the food and service.
Overall, we were very impressed with this restaurant. The authentic cuisine, the warm service, and the unique experience make it a worthwhile visit for those seeking traditional Chinese vegan food. We hope the restaurant will address the restroom issue to further enhance the dining experience.
As ordinary consumers, we are not paid or compensated in any way for this review. We are always looking for reliable and transparent businesses and hope the owner will take this feedback into consideration.

Such a fun burger place. I was a little skeptical at first that they could prevent cross contact here but they have an open kitchen and I watched the whole process. They changed their gloves. Cleaned off the flat grill (although they don't put any buns on it anyway). The fries are also safe and cooked in a dedicated fryer.
A late-night gem near Town Hall with a fun Stranger Things vibe and quick service, making for a surprisingly special dining experience.

The burger was amazing! The hamburger patty tasted like high quality meat. I had the gluten free bun and it was really good too. Definitely go if you want a burger.
My only complaint was the bathroom. Super stinky.

I love Chat Thai, especially this one on level six of the Westfield. As well as being away away from all the crowds on the food court below, the food is delicious, fresh and staff are friendly. As a person with coeliac disease, I have eaten here many times with no issue - I just select a gluten free marked option, and then let staff know about my dietary requirement. There is a risk of cross contamination, and they advise they can’t guarantee it’ll be 100% gluten free, but I’ve eaten here many times and had no issue, but make your own decision. My favourite is the fried rice dishes!
Enjoy a seamless experience with quick service, amazing views, and accommodating vibes perfect for families.

Every now and then you walk into a restaurant that blows you away, and this was one of those occasions. To be honest, we were just looking for a quick place to eat and ended up finding my "new" favourite Thai restaurant.
The wait staff are efficient without being pushy, they let us know about the dishes and the best thing of all is that ALL the food came out at the same time and piping hot. Too many restaurants send out food one dish after the other and often the first person has finished before the last dish arrives, but not here! This makes it ideal for large groups.
The food was absolutely superb with the highlights for us being the fried pork belly, snapper puffs and red duck curry. You absolutely have to try the Pandan donuts, wow, I'm going back just for those!
They also have a great range of drinks and good range of craft beers.
Another highlight, although not applicable to us was the large range of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free dishes, many if which tempted me as a dedicated carnivore.
I loved this place, joined their membership program and I will most definitely be going back again real soon. 5 Stars hardly seems enough for what was an excellent experience and one of my culinary highlights so far this year!
Well done Chat Thai, you have a new convert!

One of the best corporate caterers in Sydney. We had a fabulous morning tea spread with a variety of savoury and sweet options along with gluten free and vegan items to suit the dietary needs of the team.
There were regular delivery updates provided to ensure we were aware and available to collect the items from the delivery team. Everything was packaged and handled well with no spills or disrupted items.
FEEDWELL created an RUOK day themed morning tea to facilitate discussions on mental health and wellbeing for our team.
Modern Mexican spot with a vibrant vibe, creative dishes, and plenty of options that delight – a treat for your taste buds awaits!

An otherwise nice experience ruined by one very rude staff member.
The food was alright, nothing we’d rave about.
A few points on the lower rating:
- We had initially booked for 22-23 people and had 3 extra show up last minute that were missed in our final headcount, we understand this could be inconvenient but we did have the space on the table allocated to fit them. Unfortunately, the waitress was quite snappy when she asked “Is there more people coming?! There’s no more space nor extra tables for anyone” before storming off. This was an initial experience that made us feel awkward. We understand the inconvenience but we also accept that if the extra attendees could no fit a reasonable solution would’ve been to explain that we only booked for 23 and that they should leave.
- The behaviour continued on from here: my colleague let her know she was the one who had ordered the gluten free taco and she snapped back at her in such a way that a quarter of the table pulled faces in shock.
- When we asked them for the cake. It was brought out unprepared in a box. Perhaps an over sight if they were busy but really unusual. But as it was this waitress that brought it out in a box and another server who offered to then take it back and serve it on a plate one can never be too sure.
- The music was loud. Like, SUPER loud. Which makes it understandable when the staff speak louder. But the waitress in question was super loud and at times to the point of yelling when snapping at us and pulling faces like she was very unhappy to be there or serving us. The other two servers were very lovely. So we’ve bumped the star rating up for them.
- Lastly, we also had issues when we were asked to leave. We were well aware we had a timed booking and honestly they did well to stick to time, it didn’t feel like we were being asked to leave too quickly after we finished eating but again the rude waitress was very short with us whereas the other waitress was more apologetic and said times up just letting you know you need to leave.
- Overall it was a profound experience. Sadly the food wasn’t redeeming enough to make it enjoyable.
Some suggestions if I may:
If your staff are having a bad time, assign them to a different table. Everyone’s going to be happier in the long run.
Turn the music down slightly. Music definitely brings vibes but if you’re all yelling at each other or having to ask people to repeat things enough times until you default to smiling and nodding - it’s definitely too loud.
If people have timed bookings, it is completely reasonable to say something like “just letting you all know you have 15 minutes left on your booking, we are a bit busy tonight so we’d really appreciate that you leave on time so we can prepare for the rest of our night” and to give timed reminders after that point.
Again if people aren’t moving at that time (happens so often with larger groups, trust me we know it) just again be firm but not rude with “sorry times up! We hope you had a good night but we will need to start preparing the table for our next guests”
To the waitress directly:
It’s best not to assume everyone is stupid and against you on a bad day. Some of us have also done our hard yards is hospitality too and know how it gets serving large tables. You’ll find that most people are sympathetic if you’re feeling a bit off but you’re in a customer facing role, please learn to take breaks if you need them.
A vibrant spot tucked away on a charming street, perfect for groups, with a lively atmosphere, though it can get a bit noisy.

Food was amazing! I am coeliac and it was explained that I could have a lot on the menu. We went for the gluten free bread (which was delicious) with prosciutto and burratta, ordered the tomatoes but they came out with mains when we asked about them. For mains we had the gluten free lamb ragu with brocolli. However, we had booked a table but still had to wait 20 minutes for it to be ready; very busy outside and inside. The service felt a bit rushed as dishes were cleared as soon as we put them down empty. We were not offered another drink or dessert, just handed the card machine at the end. Would go back for the good food, but service could be improved.
Relax in a delightful spot with cozy vibes, enjoying endless tea and a lovely selection of sweet and savory treats for a memorable experience.

A special first anniversary date with my girlfriend who is Coeliac. Was greeted by Carly who was fantastic in giving us recommendations on Coeliac friendly dishes which made us feel at ease.
Started with Scallops and Whiting both 10/10.
The Salt n Pepper Tofu and Fried Rice were exceptional. Our other main was Spiced Lamb also a delight.
Wine prices were very reasonable. We finished with "dessert" being a Daiquiri Cocktail each.
We will be back again for the Set Menu - which Carly mentioned can be done GF of course.
Please pass on our thanks to Carly who made what was a wonderful experience next level.

Dined at Ho Jiak town hall several times, including a few lunches. And in my opinion is the best of the Ho Jiak group (although the oyster clay pot rice in Chatswood was delicious.
This Friday, it was my last stop before heading home from a very long Friday lunch.
The family requested Ho Jiak for dinner and I obliged with some take away.
The service is always friendly with a good sense of humor. The food is fast and incredibly tasty.
My regular dishes are XO puppies with crispy vermicelli noodles, barramundi with ginger and shallots or chilli sauce and the vegemite short rib- phenomenal.
Some of these dishes are gluten free, which is essential for my family.
If you are looking for something different.
Something you cannot replicate at home and will have you craving weeks later, go to Ho Jiak Town Hall.
The service, cocktails, food will keep you coming back.
A hidden gem with sensational decor, a relaxed vibe, and a reputation for unforgettable dining experiences—just make sure to book ahead!

I wouldn’t have bothered with a review, but they sent an email. It was terrible! Firstly I stood in line for booked patrons and a waitress barged past me twice, one time pushing my back without saying excuse me.
Then I ordered wine and 20 mins later I had to chase it up.
Then we ordered food and it all came out cold and at different times. I ordered gluten free gyozas (gf friends don’t bother) and was served soy sauce - vs tamari.
People around me were chasing up orders, places to sit, drinks and food. Bearing in mind we order via an app. The app crashed several times, which made the whole thing frustrating.
Thursday night, darling harbour, big show at the ICC - maybe try harder.
Experience a charming venue with a wide selection of fantastic teas and a delightful atmosphere, perfect for a cozy visit.
