Wow, I am very impressed! The food was absolutely delicious and I already know what I will try next visit. I had the Ultimate Club with delicious Dragon fries and a blueberry blast smoothie. Food is 100% vegan and very fresh. Great atmosphere, and the ladies working were very friendly and helpful. While I'm personally okay to eat gluten, they did have many gluten free options as well!

What a great find!! Traveling in Halifax as a family with several food intolerances, we could not have been happier with the Gluten-Free, Vegan, and dairy-free options. Cozy spot, great service, and everything was very tasty. We've been in town two nights and had dinner here twice!

I went to this restaurant for a Deaf event. One of the servers new sign language and was able to serve the deaf people adequately and charismatically. As a gluten-free person, I had a delicious haddock taco and didn't feel the gluten-free options were any less delicious than the regular options! Prices are high, but fair for the overall experience. Will definitely be returning.

This place is the most adorable cafe! My wife and I love to come here when we're in Halifax. There are numerous gluten-free and vegan options, and everything's absolutely delicious! The staff are very friendly as well, 10/10!

The interior is beautiful, romantic enough, cozy, but the light is too dim for me (but this is my subjective opinion). Location - the restaurant is located in the down town, i.e. in the city center, which, unfortunately, means the absence of its own parking lot and you have to look for it, and it is paid even on weekends. Food - not very many, in fact, menu items if we are talking about the main dishes. There are few gluten-free dishes, which, for example, was a problem for us. We had to order soup and salad because we have restrictions on the types of meat we can eat and therefore, actually, vegetarian soup is all we could order. It was delicious, I have no complaints, but it's still a pity that there is such a limited selection of gluten-free meat dishes. We ordered tea and I liked that the tea cup was warm (despite the fact that it was empty), and the tea was served separately in a teapot). Service - everything here was top notch, the girl who served us was as attentive as possible, she knew the menu and the composition of the dishes well, she could tell us what dishes we could order, taking into account the restrictions we had. But still, I deducted one star. I was out of paper towels. As always, in the restaurant there is a cloth napkin in which the cutlery is wrapped and which we put on our laps when we eat, but I cannot wipe my lips, for example, with that napkin, for this I need paper ones, but they were not on the table and no one offered . This is my humble opinion, it was uncomfortable for me. Well, the shortcomings of the menu that I wrote about above also played a role in the evaluation. And in general, I can recommend this place, we liked it.

I was looking for a great cup of coffee and a bite to eat and noticed the good reviews and gluten free options. Sadly, I found the coffee underwhelming - very weak and flavorless. My GF breakfast sandwich tasted good and was delivered to the table by very personable staff but I found it to be expensive, for what it was. I also had a GF/vegan macaroon but it tasted nothing like a macaroon. It was very odd tasting making me wonder what I was ingesting. 🫢 Lastly, I wished I had not gone to the washroom; it was surprisingly dirty and did not appear to have been cleaned in a long while, a real turn off to eating there again. I thought I would like the place based on the reviews but there were just too many negatives for me.

It is so so awesome. We absolutely loved it. Strongly recommended. Their Gluten free chocolate cookie and gluten free brownie is so yummy. We also loved their honey bee cappuccinos.

I placed a catering order for my office. The food was very good, no issues there. I ordered and PAID for gluten free pita which I did not receive. When I brought this to the attention of the restaurant I was told we will make sure you get it next time. Sadly this is not something that my office does often so next would likely not be until next year. I was very disappointed with this response. Honestly I likely would not have left this review but the restaurant asked for a review so Im going to be honest and say that I was not overly happy with this order.

I ordered a large amount of empanadas for a holiday party and they were so delicious!! They also had gluten free options which was so helpful. The ordering and pick up process went really smoothly, too. I would definitely recommend them for your next party!

I wish I could give more stars!! Our host was friendly, engaging and an amazingly talented chef. Outstanding food, with exciting flavors and the perfect balance of fine dining flair in a totally relaxed atmosphere. Highlights were the exceptional melt-in-the-mouth goat curry, jerk chicken waffle, warm banana bread and sweet, tangy and light mango cheesecake (which all just happened to be gluten-free!) A real treat in Halifax's North End, with a menu to delight all ages and tastes.

We stayed one night in the neighbourhood and lucked out finding this gem!! Offering various gluten-free items, excellent GF pizza, excellent thin crust pizza & wings. More than average amount of toppings on the pizza. Wonderful live entertainment in the dining room. A must-try if you are in Halifax.

Highly recommend the 1990s Harvest for those who want their breakfast and sweet tooth satisfied in the same meal. 👌 The staff are friendly, fast and accommodating. Cute little place with amazing food!! Best bacon I've ever had, too! Everything is made super fresh and homemade style! They knew all about cooking for celiac people, too, like my mother. It's always a relief when she can eat in confidence that she won't react! Both Annie and her helper Kahleah are both super friendly and knowledgeable! With beyond normal courtesy! I can't recommend this place enough you have to eat here!

I find it utterly ridiculous that to order a gluten free sandwich, I have to pay the same price as a regular sandwich but I am getting served half the amount of food. It is bad enough when restaurants charge extra money just for someone to eat a gluten free bun, but to be asking for that much money for that little food is disrespectful. Eating gluten free for many people isn't an optional lifestyle choice. It is medically necessary, and we shouldn't have to break the bank to eat out. What this is is ableism based in capitalism. The food here is sub par for the price I am paying. There are a few things that are definitely good enough that maybe the price is okay, but the vast majority is not. The kindness and skill of the staff is the one redemptive quality of the establishment. They are excellent servers and baristas. Every employee I interacted with was delightful.

One of my favorite dinners during our visit to Halifax. My family stayed in the neighborhood and walked here for dinner one night. Fantastic food, drinks, and atmosphere. Found this place with our noses when we walked the boardwalk a cold rainy day. Inviting atmosphere, friendly and engaging staff and warm comforting pasta. Gluten free penne with cream sauce was excellent as was the penne with Bolognese sauce. Finished the meal with an Americano and Tiramisu (to die for). If we ever get back to Halifax we will definitely stop in again!

Amiya was our server. She made us feel very welcome and was quick with our drinks. The food was out fairly fast and was nice and hot. I had the gluten free honey garlic bowl and my husband had the two piece fish and chips. Both were delicious. We will be returning.

We are in town for four days and have had poor experiences 2 out of 3 attempts at Tempo. On Friday we had a great experience, the food was tasty, the waitress was great and the service was quick. On Saturday, when I went down for brunch they were closed. After a phone call, I learned that they where closed early due to staffing issues. Today, my wife and I, went down for breakfast. After placing our orders; bagel and cream cheese for her and Eggs Benedict on gluten free toast for me, we received our juice and coffee. Then we waited, and waited. After three or four couples who were seated after us had ordered and gotten their food, we stopped the waitress and asked about our orders. Five minutes later, she walked by and said "It's being taken care of now." She didn't stop to talk to us, and she certainly did not apologize. A few minutes later my wife stopped her a asked to speak to the floor manager. Our waitress replied "I guess that's me". She continued to say that it was taking time to bring the water to a boil to poach the eggs. It was nothing but deflections and avoidance of ownership of the problem. An honest apology would of calmed my wife a great deal. My wife then said she wasn't sure if she to have breakfast any more and the waitress indicated that if we didn't want to stay, it was fine. We chose to leave. In all a very dissatisfactory experience that left my wife in tears back in the hotel room.

Subway has been my favorite food to go lately. My husband is gluten-free and they have Gluten free buns. Healthy food as well. I have visited at least 5 of them lately. The new drive through are awesome. I must comment on their cleanliness . My favorite is anew one in Cole Harbour. Excellent and helpful staff. Also the Lower Sackville location in NS. They are very helpful and Clean. Almost all places their staff seem nice and efficient and helpful Go Subway sandwiches.

I have gluten and dairy allergies so it's hard to find restaurants that do a good job cooking a delicious meal without those two staples. The Harbourstone far exceeded my expectations. While other restaurants include gluten-free options, the Harbourstone is the first I've seen in HRM to include both gluten-free options (GFO) and dairy free options (DFO) throughout their menu entire menu. They substituted the dairy with yummy equivalents rather than just taking it out and making the meal plain. Our meal was so good we went back the next day and had lunch. Great Job Harbourstone!

The atmosphere and ambiance is absolutely beautiful. I’ve been a couple times now, the food is fine, I do enjoy their coffee and pastries but there aren’t many options for pastries (more so sides as a restaurant than a café). The menu does allow for some gluten free substitutions which are celiac safe. Featured is the Lunette special: egg, potatoes, mushroom, pork belly; toast Matcha Latte, Almond Croissant (chefs kiss)

We had an excellent all day breakfast here. Great service, delicious food. Hardest part was finding the place, they are in the back entrance of the CRA building so that’s why they didn’t get full stars for that. Had gluten free toast option which was excellent. EV charging available. Lots of parking.
