Fantastic!! My GF husband doesn’t really like fried food so he ordered the grilled Haddock and Hobson’s Special Salad and was extremely pleased. My daughter and I are not GF so we ordered the original fried fish. The single order of chips is enough for 2 and we also ordered the (must-have) mushy peas and green bean sides which also happen to be GF. Porchester location is a bit of a walk from Notting Hill, but it is a lovely spot, clean and decorated with subway tiles, nostalgic pictures and butcher block tables.

Perfect place to grab gluten free fish and was really impressed on how the young lady who served us handled a tricky punter, who was very unreasonable(imagine getting annoyed with the chef for not giving you chips the way you like them even though she didn’t say anything when she ordered and the waitress was happy to bring her another portion).

Without doubt, a place is everything: workers, ambient, food; in this case, served by the kind and professional waitress Iva, was excellent, not only for the food and attention to allergens (I’m celiac) but also for the kindness she treated us and the rest of the team to find us a table and give us the best experience. I would repeat.
This traditional pub offers a wonderful atmosphere balancing lively energy with a relaxed vibe, enhanced by candlelit tables. The staff's awareness of cross-contamination ensures a safe and welcoming environment for gluten-free diners, making it a top choice in the city center.

So my experience here was really mixed. The food was wonderful and there were lots of gluten free options to choose from on the menu. But sadly the service is where this place faltered. It was like they couldn't decide if they wanted to be a pub or have table service. When we asked if they were still serving food we got told the menus are over there and they just pointed. We went to the bar to order drinks which was fine, but then we found out they take food orders at the table. But if you want to order more drinks or anything else (like dessert), we had to either go back to the bar to be told they would come over to us or we had to flag down someone to do this. We asked for the bar and it was another 40 minutes or until we paid because no one came back and again we had to flag down one of the staff. I'd really love to recommend this place for the food, but if you are expecting good service maybe try somewhere else.

5 star food, 5 star food, 5 star food. Every dish was literally unreal & left you wanting more.
Amazing for gluten free - almost everything on the menu can be done gluten free for a celiac.
My fiancé and I got the ham croquettes (uncommon to find gluten free), the beef cheeks, the shrimp, patatas bravas, chicken thigh - and then another round of ham croquettes because my mouth was salivating for them. Beef melts in your mouth, the chicken was tender, shrimp had a tasty sauce, and the potatoes were tasty with the sauce.
Restaurant looks tiny when you walk in but there’s multiple levels. The tables had a great ambience to them, and it made for a romantic date night. Service was a bit slow but the servers were all nice & helpful while communicating my gluten allergy.
Was the best dinner I had while visiting London for the week, would recommend to everyone!

My wife and I visited for the 2nd time and on both occasions had G/f fish and chips which was fantastic. Very rare to find such a hidden gem that serves gluten free food and beer. Even booking my 60th birthday with them in the cosy bar downstairs for December.
Definitely going to be our regular drinking hole from now on.

Big shame they stopped their fish and chips, which was excellent with a gluten free option. Tthey now have pizza- which you can get anywhere. On the plus side,b they have GF beer on tap and have resisted changing the nice interior over the years...

I usually love The Alchemist but was super disappointed with the bottomless/boundless brunch. We were over an hour in and we had only had 2 cocktails. At that point, we decided to just stick to the 3 cocktails and meal option instead of paying the extra for bottomless as we only had half an hour left and it took an hour to get two, it was unlikely we would have got any more than 3. I’ve been to a lot of bottomless brunches and I was excited about this one as someone’s who really likes the cocktails here.. I was expecting to have less drinks than I usually get at a bottomless brunch (maybe like 5-6 in 1.5 hours) but I didn’t expect to only have 2 in an 1 hour. Also, the solero cocktail cream smelt sort of stale?? And as a coeliac/veggie, my only meal option was some potatoes with some onions & spinach on.
I would return for a couple of drinks but I wouldn’t return for the brunch again unfortunately :(
