The restaurant is located in a cozy square, there is also a gluten-free pizza and pasta option, friendly service, delicious food. A negative is that the appetizer and dessert brought out without a request were charged for +6 Euro, they were delicious, but it would be better to ask for that.

Stunning place with attention to detail, very friendly staff and really delicious food. Great choice and attention to gluten-free, with the availability of first courses such as pasta or traditional Moussaka. Among their appetizers, fried calamari (gluten-free!) with mayonnaise and herb sauce are superb. Highly recommended

Very delicious food. The pizza is amazing. My wife really enjoyed it. And, best of all, you can eat gluten-free here! I had a delicious steak that was perfectly medium-rare and tender! Great service, great food!

There are gluten-free options. Menu must be changed to accommodate allergy information. In fact they have numerous GF options but it is not noted in the menu. The logic is "dishes that don't have flour in it are GF," it is okay for this place because they have good communication. Make sure you ask.

Super good experience! We had a glass of wine while we waited (only 5 min, even though they said 10-15). Delicious appetizers with dips and gluten-free bread – really tasty. The waiter even offered extra bread for free. The main course was big and good, and we took leftovers home. We got dessert wine and ice cream for the bill, and they had allergies under control. The staff was friendly, attentive, and seemed happy even though it was busy. They don't try to pull people in from the street, which creates a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We came at 9.30pm without reservation on a Monday and were lucky to get a last minute reservation on-site for 11pm. It was worth the wait!! Perfect local wone, greek salad with ingredients from a farm nearby, eggs with tomatos, goat cheese platter - you could taste how fresh everything was! Please offer in the future also gluten-free bread/pita for the unfortunate ones:)

Such a lovely experience and absolutely blinding food! We came here quite a few times over our holiday and it was excellent every single time. They also do gluten free pasta you just have to ask for it. Not one complaint. They do get very busy so either book or be prepared to wait a bit but the wait is totally worth it!

Incredible restaurant so much of the menu is gluten free and they even have gluten free orzo! My husband is coeliac and we have been twice now with no cross contamination and they even remembered him and instantly made sure his order was gluten free!

Fantastic Pizza! Very cozy restaurant located about 5 minutes away from the pedestrian street in Chania. Worth walking the 5 minutes! Impeccable atmosphere and staff, we really enjoyed ourselves! Great that they have gluten-free options!

We were craving lamb and the place was completely packed so we gave it a go. We started with a nice mixed salad with figs, cheese and walnuts. We asked for roasted mixed vegetables to go with our entree but they brought it out right after our salad so we ate it while it was still warm - really good flavour. The lamb was very tender and flavourful but we just couldn’t enjoy the crispy potatoes with it… too much crunch and grease. Because my husband is gluten free, the gratis dessert was something called a “sweet spoon”. It was interesting but we would never eat it again. An ice cream, yogurt or panne cotta would have been nicer. Reasonably priced for downtown.

We went to Lottos on the first evening of our 5 night stay in Agia Marina. After taking a walk and seeing many other restaurants we decided to stop here because we were welcomed by a very kind and smiling girl who showed us the menu (when she told me that they had many gluten-free options including pizza she definitely won me over) and inspired a lot of sympathy in us. The place is beautiful and welcoming and that evening there was even a musician playing live music. The impeccable service: they opened and served the wine in the truly correct way and the waiters were always smiling and available if we needed anything. Excellent wine and food!! My pizza was good and plentiful, my partner had the meat and that too was equally good and cooked just right. We also had a dessert, delicious, and before leaving they brought us another offered dessert and raki (typical Cretan digestive). Honest account. We had such a good time that evening that we decided to return the following evening and also another evening 😁 we felt at home, treated very well, everyone was very nice and kind to us. The second evening when we returned they treated us like royalty!!

The best gluten free pasta I have had in my decade of being a celiac. Cooked to perfection, generous portion, and the creamiest sauce. My partner had the sushi and found it fresh and delicious (unfortunately they don’t offer gluten free sushi at this time). The service was also 10/10. Would highly recommend :)

I am a celiac and struggle to find somewhere to eat on holiday safely. After reading the reviews we thought we would try. The food is amazing so so good. They were really knowledgeable and careful and i felt safe eating there. I can’t recommend this place enough. The staff are lovely and the portions are big as well.

A local gem! Unpretentious food cooked with flavour and imagination! My hubby is gluten-free and there were many options to choose from which is always important for us. We started with a mixed salad with lovely petite, black-eyed peas. It was big enough to share and had a lovely light lemon and oil dressing. Also as an appetizer, we had the tuna tartar, served on top of wilted spinach with minced carrot and cucumber topped with watercress. Hubby had the roasted lamb, which was really quite spectacular and I had the roasted rabbit with thin-sliced potatoes on the bottom and a lovely béchamel sauce on top - very delicious with subtle flavours that really let the rabbit sing. As is Cretan tradition, they offered us a free dessert and when they found out he couldn’t have wheat provided us with a beautiful dessert made from whipped meringues with corn flour topped with a homemade marmalade. It was large enough to share and was absolutely what we hoped for… super light and not too sweet. Service was impeccable, and our waiter was even kind enough to provide us with some suggestions for live music written on a piece of paper. Highly recommended!

The best tavern ever in and around the area. The staff are always very attentive and kind (special thanks to Yannis and Nasia), especially towards my wife who has celiac disease. We only noticed that prices have increased significantly compared to previous years, unfortunately throughout Crete and not just in the taverns.

We stayed in Mochlos and ate here 4 times. The food was great and the staff were really lovely and accommodating, especially to my mothers plethora of allergies (all milk products, gluten, eggs, soy and more). All dishes had excellent value and you can see how they are trying to elevate greek cuisine with a few of them, namely the see bass carpaccio, beef cheek meatballs, and lemon tart - and with success.

Hidden gem of a restaurant! A bit of a drive up mountain to get to from Plakias, but worth the effort! Family owned and run, they enjoy what they do and it shows in the service and in the delicious food! Our food allergies were easily accommodated (gluten and dairy), and all the dishes we tried (salads and entrees) were fresh, well-prepared, and delicious. Gigandes (large beans oven baked in tomato) were a flavorful favorite. Inside space is cozy and attractive with a relaxing atmosphere. Balcony also is inviting but as there was a breeze we opted for inside. Daily menu specials on chalkboard highlight seasonal vegetables, meat, and fish. We were there late at night so it limited our ability to appreciate the expansive view, which would be even more spectacular before dusk or with a full moon! We were really glad to discover Elia restaurant!!

Lovely taverna! I have celiac disease so have to eat gluten free. I showed them a gluten free Greek translation card, they were very knowledgeable and informed me of all the ingredients in each dish and prepared my food separately. Felt safe eating here :))

A good restaurant in the center of the old town. The atmosphere is friendly and the service at different levels depending on the waiter. The options for gluten free meals are not many but they are listed on the menu. Few choices for salads and no special ingredients. Still worth a visit to try other different dishes

If you are visiting Crete don't miss this tavern, we liked it so much we went there twice. You will find a generous offer of typical meat dishes and various traditional appetizers. The staff is a delight in kindness and availability even to the needs of the most complex customers (allergic and celiac). When you arrive, an appetizer with bread and olive pâté and fresh tomato sauce is served while you wait. Some waiters speak Italian, but obviously everyone speaks English. Among the most recommended dishes are the mixed grill for two people (very filling) and the souvlaki at honest prices. At the end of dinner they serve the classic raki with a plate of fresh watermelon or melon. Among the desserts, try the Cretan crepe with cheese and honey.

Wow! We were looking for the perfect place to have our last meal before leaving Chania and we found it. The ambience was magical sitting alongside the small harbour and fishing boats, so peaceful and charming. I am vegan/gluten free and had so much choice I found it hard to decide what to choose. The food was so fresh and full of taste I was in heaven with a glass of local wine to wash it down. Staff were efficient, friendly and welcoming. The perfect ending to a perfect holiday whilst staying at Sansal Boutique Hotel which was 5 mins walk away.
