We were looking for a solution for gluten free food in Bologna. The Vecchio Mercato restaurant met the requirements because it is an AIC certified restaurant. We came at different times for lunch. Let's start by saying that the pasta they offer is all homemade. There are appetizers, first and second courses, both meat and fish and finally also desserts and ice creams, always made by them and NOT packaged. We took some aubergine appetizers (croquettes, parmigiana and rolls) all with excellent flavor and tasty enough to make you want to have more. But let's go slowly. The first ones. The maccheroncini with bacon and the very tasty Bolognese balanzoni gave no hint of a different flavor compared to a dish made with classic flours. Huge portions!!!! Here too, for the flavor (and if there had been some room in the stomach) we would have taken another portion. The seconds. The bacon with a bed of polenta cooked to perfection, balanced in flavor and very tender meat, so much so that it could be cut with a fork and finally the Petroniana cutlet. Well, do you know ceramic trays? Well it was full of meat, here too cooked to perfection and loaded with ham (for those who know it, you know what I'm talking about) we struggled to finish it!! And finally the desserts... I repeat, the difference with those made with wheat flour is absolutely not noticeable! The staff, knowledgeable and kind, made us feel at home, even recommending dishes, which turned out to be excellent advice on pairings! A 10 out of 10 for the Vecchio Mercato!
With a spacious layout and plenty of outdoor seating, this spot offers a welcoming vibe and a diverse menu that keeps people coming back.

Our first need was to find a pizzeria that cooked gluten-free pizzas and the Due Lune restaurant has a double menu for celiacs and is an AIC restaurant.
The pizzas with and without gluten are excellent, as is the service, friendly and fast staff.
The place is large and due to the large tables the environment sometimes becomes a bit noisy but if the company is good and the food is good too, you don't notice.
Well done!
Known for gourmet pizzas with unique ingredients, it's a must-try despite its slightly higher prices and delivery delays.

We had lunch in this restaurant for my graduation, the food was delicious, from the pizzas to the first courses and also the desserts, the staff was very kind, and the place was very welcoming. The gluten-free cuisine is reliable and is effectively gluten-free and contamination-free, as unfortunately does not happen in other restaurants. Even though we were a little late due to some problems and with lunch we exceeded the closing time of the restaurant, the staff was still very kind and helpful in understanding the situation, without making us feel it in any way.
I highly recommend this restaurant, thanks again!
An inviting spot with a cozy vibe, offering unique combinations of quality dishes at reasonable prices—perfect for a satisfying meal.

My cousins and I had gone to Bologna for the day, walking through the streets. We were stopped by the waiter to make us curious and sit at the table as it was lunch time. We said it was fine but before accepting I asked if they have gluten-free food and they said yes. I asked if they could confirm the non-contamination and they assured me again that yes.
So we decided to sit down and have lunch after this information.
While we are taking the order we ask if they also have gluten-free bread available with the starter together with the cured meats and they say yes.
We order appetizer and first course.
As soon as the starter is activated, we ask where the gluten-free bread is and they tell us that it's coming, another 10 minutes pass and the bread hadn't arrived yet, we ask for it and they tell us "but we don't have gluten-free bread" and another waiter says yes, we do.
So I asked myself two questions there and I said sorry but did you have it or not because I would like to understand what I'm eating and they told me that if I don't like it I can leave.
At that point we ask for the bill of what we ate to leave.
The manager said that if there is this celiac problem we can also eat at home without going to trouble in restaurants and the waiter Enzo lied to us about what they really had
In short, it was a very bad experience that ended with the police, the person in charge shouting at me and other girls, placing himself with my love in our faces.
Rude and rude restaurants
They act nice just to attract customers not to mention the shocking prices they have.
If you have cheerfulness or intolerances, don't go to this place because you don't know what you're eating
An authentic spot in Bologna, perfect for enjoying vibrant atmospheres, delicious platters, and a blend of traditional Italian flavors.

A iconic stereotypical Italian corner restaurant/cafe, which I would recommend everyone to visit. The topping of the sandwich was very tasty with a lot of flavor, but the gluten free bread was quite directly dry. So much dry that I wonder if the ones deciding the bread even has tried it, because even cheap supermarket bread would be preferred above it. But it should be mentioned that the breads with gluten were by the rest of the group met with better reviews. The staff was few making at one point a long queue, as of the one attending the cash register where helping preparing the food. To be fair, the restaurant were at this moment quite crowded.

Who in their right mind serves raw beef to humans? Even if this is a traditional food for bears or wolves, people should know what a "steak" means in their menu. At least warn clients that they are about to pay for dog food. Warining others about allergies and gluten BS, but not warning anyone they are about to be served animal food is the lowest insult.

GLUTEN FREE burgers
I have already eaten their sandwiches several times and they are very good, all choices have the possibility of being made with gluten-free bread for a surcharge, but in any case the food is very good. Obviously it's not an AIC place because they heat the bread on the same griddle, but the shop assistants are super prepared and say so as soon as you ask for the variation.
Finally a cash free restaurant in the big European cities, it's about time civilization arrived here too!
The only flaw: the gluten-free sandwiches always arrive cold, whether they are ordered or taken on the spot.
In the heart of Bologna, enjoy a diverse pasta menu with customizable portion sizes, perfect for a casual bite or quick meal.

Bad experience, very rude, rude staff and not available to the customers' requests. Not special food and failure to respect previously made arrangements for a graduation party. The agreed menu, the maximum available time, the menu for people with celiac disease, and the place where you were supposed to eat were not respected. Too expensive for the type of food offered

We have been coming to this bar for about two years. Both the savory and sweet brioches are superb and look very inviting. There are various types of dough (for celiacs, vegans...) and the filling is very abundant. Despite the large influx of people, the service is always excellent and Serena is always very welcoming.
