This was the best dining experience I have had in a long time. Since being diagnosed with Celiac, it is really hard to enjoy eating out without fear of “being glutened”. After reading tons of reviews and the allergy safety protocols on their website, we decided to give this place a shot. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with nothing but assurance and the staff were so incredibly kind. There is a food safety coordinator certificate on the hostess stand that is also really impressive. On OpenTable you can say if you’re celebrating something at the time of your reservation, and while I have filled this out before, no restaurant has ever acknowledged it. I mentioned in my reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary and as soon as we walked in the Food Safety coordinator who I also think is the owner told us happy anniversary, followed by the woman who walked us to our table and our waitress. At the end of our meal we were gifted a surprise gluten free crème brûlée with a candle in it! It was just the most special night with the most incredible food. Everyone was so kind. I can’t sing their praises enough.
A lively spot with a fun, kitschy vibe perfect for families and large groups, offering a straightforward menu and solid service.

We had a phenomenal time at the moorings! The food was impeccable, and the service by our server Allie and the manager on the floor tonight was fantastic. I have gluten and dairy allergies so finding places to eat that can accommodate both allergies can be pretty difficult – especially when you are looking for something as specific as a gluten and dairy free lobster roll. This was my first time to Rhode Island and I had my heart set on having a phenomenal lobster roll bit wasn’t sure of the feasibility…the mooring did not disappoint. We will 100% be back!

Wow! The staff at this bakery is incredibly friendly and polite. The store itself is spotless and well-maintained. I tried the Cupcake of the Day, which was a Pineapple Dolewhip flavor, and it was absolutely delicious. It tasted like summer in a cupcake! They have a wide variety of flavors to choose from, including gluten-free options. I will definitely be returning to try more of their cupcakes.

Pretty good! We dined here at the end of the summer during an adventure around Newport. It was nice to sit outside for our meal. They are very accommodating for allergies, especially if you have Celiac disease like I do. Our steaks were tasty. However, I'm knocking off a star because my steak was a little overcooked and the staff were not the friendliest.
Weekend vibes are strong here with a bustling bar scene, live jazz on Monday nights, and a vibrant atmosphere.

Everything was good except for the grilled octopus which I sent back because you couldn't even chew it. Second time was better but still just ok. But the standout here was the gluten-free lamb poutine, everyone loved that!

This place is pretty good and have gluten free bread. It would be nice if they had some gluten free or vegan pastries offered too. Unfortunately I notice gluten free pastries are lacking in Newport so I'm not super surprised.

My goal is to find the best clam or seafood chowder. The thicker, the better. I was excited to see it was gluten-free, which tells me that it is not thickened with flour.
It was pretty thin. The flavor was good, but I'm picky.
The rest of the food was pretty good. Fish tacos, tuna BLT and gluten-free flat bread were very tasty.

According to my partner this is some of the best GF pizza in the area, just make sure you specify that it’s NOT a preference. But we love a date night here because I can get very glutenous pizza and he can get very gluten free pizza and there’s no issue.
With a cozy vibe and a small but impressive menu, this spot is perfect for those looking for bold flavors and a fun atmosphere.

We came in without a reservation on a Sunday, the place had plenty of empty seats. So I was surprised that the host said we could only sit at the bar if we could be done by 7:15 (which was just over an hour from when we arrived). We took the table, all was good. The menu is small but mighty. And as a celiac, boy oh boy did I rejoice when they told me the chips were gluten free. Actually gluten free. No gluten goes into the fryer! The nachos were truly exceptional. My tacos were great, I think the steak taco was my favorite but maybe the pork. My fiance loved his bowl, but it was spicier than expected (not a problem, except that we needed more water at the table 😂). Overall, we had a great time. I have every expectation that we'll be back. I'm excited to get a cocktail next time!

Lauren was our server and literally the best. My friend had a gluten allergy and Lauren literally went thru the menu to reassure my friend of the dishes without gluten. The staff seemed very attentive throughout the whole dining experience too.
One of my family members has a gluten allergy so I've had gluten free pasta before but this was really great and the bechamel sauce hit the spot. They even had a gluten free cake that we tried and it was incredible. It didn't fall apart or crumble which was surprising.
Last time I went, I got the carbonara which was incredible. This time, I switched it up and I got the bologanese, these people don't miss at all.
Solid wine prices with the classic italian reds and good variety on the drink menu. They even an interesting mocktail menu that you can add booze if you want to make it a cocktail.
This place is so much more than just another italian restaurant.

I tried the gluten-free sweet potato tofu scramble wrap. It was okay. The tofu was seasoned, which is good, but the flavors in the wrap were conflicting. I think they could go all in on the seasoning and turn it into a delicious Indian or Thai style curry wrap. Otherwise, they could substitute tofu with Just Egg and make an American breakfast wrap. In its current state, the wrap is in flavor purgatory!
The blood orange hibiscus tea was fine. I would steep it a little longer but that's a personal preference.

Even though the staff had a wedding and we were a large group with a late reservation. We got the full experience. It was a cold windy day but the views were divine and we were made comfortable. Even got to take a few 📸. We also had a few dietary restrictions being wheat allergy/gluten free, pescatarian, dairy free, and kosher. The staff was very accommodating. Bobby was amazing! We were in awe of the service we received, and alone earns a full star. He recommended a drink that I want to give another shot in the future. And another all my friends will be drinking going forward. The swordfish was melt in your mouth . I experienced the softest mussels ive ever had. And the dessert was divine. I must know how they managed to get blue berries that aren’t sour. 100% need a reservation. Well worth it. I would recommend exploring more options to make all appetizers gluten free , it’s totally doable. Valet allowed us to carry on and enjoy the evening for a moment. Compliments to the bartender and other other employees.

I love Antonio's. I go as often as possible. Their by-the-slice options are fun and always changing. Also, very important for those needing gluten-free options. My wife has to do gluten-free, and I don't mind at all. Their gluten-free crust is the best I have had anywhere.

Guisto is definitely one of the best restaurants in Newport. They consistently have the best bar program I have found anywhere south of Boston and the food and service are also exceptional. There are also surprising (and terrific) gluten-free options, including the squid ink calamari. Gorgeous outdoor space in summer and cozy indoor in winter. Truly excellent bar staff.

So first and foremost the views are just incredible. We were there on a very sunny and quite warm day. We dined out on the terrace. It’s one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. Take that all away and this place is still excellent. The service was exceptional in every way. The food was a very viable competition to the views. I had the burger and it was a top 5 ever for me. That and I had to have it with gluten free bread instead of a bun. Super juicy and perfectly cooked along with mushrooms, bacon, gruyère cheese, bibb lettuce, and a wonderful sweet onion-truffle aïoli. I had the baby arugula salad instead of the fries. Though my wife had those and they were super as well. She also had a big Caesar salad too. I highly highly recommend making this a stop during your time in Newport.

Somehow my husband scored last minute dinner reservations to the oldest restaurant in the US! We ended up with 5:30 dinner reservations on 10/23/2021.
Running since 1673, the White Horse Tavern exudes history. If these walls could talk! We were seated upstairs next to a beautiful open window overlooking the street. I kept looking out of the window thinking about how many hundreds of people throughout time gazed through this window.
Because we made reservations ahead of time, staff was able to accommodate my Celiac gluten-free requirements.
My husband and I ordered:
Pork Belly with brussel sprouts - $14.00
Pork Osso Bucco- $36.00
1 Cup Rhode Island Clam Chowder - $7.00
Crispy Duck Breast - $38.00
Champagne Cocktail - $12.00
Orange Vanilla Creme Brulee -$9.00
French Press Coffee - $6.00
Subtotal - $122.00
State Tax - $8.54
Meal & Beverage Tax - $1.22
Total - $131.76
It's February 1, 2022 and I still remember how INCREDIBLE the brussel sprouts and champagne cocktail were. These were such a highlight and a must order.
The Rhode Island Clam chowder in clear broth was something I'd never experienced before but it was gluten free so I decided to give it a try. There was nothing that special about it, but may be a good thing to try just to say you tried it.
The one thing that really put a damper on the meal was the table in front of us. It was a table of 4 horrid women celebrating a birthday. They were talking 10x louder than everyone else, bad mouthing and gossiping about people they know who apparently have eating disorders and those people's relationship troubles. Other diners and I were exchanging glances because it was incredibly obnoxious and off-putting. I honestly wish that staff would have asked them to either keep it down or leave, as it really ruined the ambiance.
Other than the rude women who acted like monsters, the dinner and service were nice. This is a must try restaurant for the history alone.
Definitely get reservations as those who walked in and wanted to just go to the bar were turned away at the door.
I asked if any of the bowls could be made vegan and the server said they could all be made with rice noodles instead of ramen, confusing vegan with gluten free. She realized her mistake and told me the regular noodles were vegan, so I said that was fine as long as they weren’t made with egg. Later I discovered the restaurant’s website explicitly says the ramen is a “wheat-based egg noodle.” As a vegan of several years I should have known to do more research ahead of time, but in principle I don’t think that burden should fall to the customer. I was very disappointed and frustrated that the server wasn’t able to give accurate information about the food and didn’t take my dietary choice seriously enough to check with the kitchen about the ingredients.
On top of that, the tomato and scallion ramen I ordered was described as chilled but arrived room temperature, and the scallion oil was not a drizzle over the top for seasoning as I expected, but a very unappealing pool of oil—at least a quarter-cup—at the bottom of the bowl.
Other options on the menu may be very good and other servers may be more knowledgeable, but unfortunately I had a disappointing experience. I think there are better options in Newport—especially if you’re vegan.

This meal was refreshing to our palate and digestive system from eating heavy this whole trip. We are glad we stumbled onto this establishment. We ordered the hummus plate with veggies and my first time eating watermelon radish, now probably is my favorite veggie. Also my first time eating a wedge salad with a knife but worth it to have the best salad in a lifetime. Oh just to balance it all with a side of fries as I compared to Wingstop (sometimes not hot/fresh) cause that’s my standard of fresh hot good fires. Also not pictured is the Narragansett beer, is easily my favorite beer of all time due to being smooth that isn’t a lite beer, has the fullness of a beer and don’t taste the hopines of it.
The service was 3.5 stars because we were the only ones when we placed our order and it took a minute to get our veggie plate…. but after that the other two came in a timely fashion. Service provided was welcoming the moment we walked in. Ambiance we had to imagine cause we were the only two until we had to leave but we imagined the full swing of this place of how lively it can be.
**They have good plenty of gluten free options!

Lovely setting for any meal. We enjoyed the Frito Misto, gluten free tacos, burger and delicious oysters followed by deconstructed apple, coconut crisp, maple cheesecake. OMG it was delicious. Our waitress Julia was attentive to our needs, made us feel right at home and even had a moment to take a photos of our time there. Try the Grounded cabernet. Hot toddy before heading out. View and grounds are a treat. Go…enjoy…
Kellie’s Cafe is a wonderful place to have an English breakfast or an English Afternoon Tea session. I have to eat gluten free and Kellie was so nice and accommodating for my allergy. She made gluten free sandwiches for our Afternoon Tea, which were wonderful! Just got back from a delicious dinner for 2 (Mothers Day!). We got a table right away, and were surprised by how fast the food arrived - fresh, fragrent and piping hot. My wife is gluten free and vegetarian, and was easily accommodated. GF Wife ordered the Veggie Lover with tofu, and I had Pad Thai with chicken. Both meals exceeded our expectations, being flavorful and perfectly cooked. Friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere complimented the meal, making this a five star review!
