When you first enter the café, you're greeted with an intoxicating aroma that sets the tone for the rest of the meal. Every plate is served from a sizzling skillet and features a delightful melange of spices that perfectly complement the various cuts of meat and veggies. We sampled several dishes but my personal favorites were the doro wot (chicken in a spicy brown curry sauce), assa gored gored (tilapia), and sega tibs (cubed beef sauteed with onions and peppers). For those with dietary restrictions, there is a vegan version of nearly every item on the menu and the traditional injera is gluten free. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a hearty, delectable meal in a lovely setting.

Phenomenal- every aspect of my experience here. The food was very well portioned and felt so healthy. Flavors of everything were excellent. Great lighting, clean, live plants, friendly and playful staff, reasonable prices. Ice cream is the best ice cream I've had in a long time, possibly ever. Easily accommodating for so many allergies. Family friendly but could also has the right atmosphere to bring a date. There was also some outdoor seating and a dog water bowl- dog friendly outside! So stoked that this place is here. They also have some of my favorite gluten free hard ciders/kombuchas. Kale salad side was so juicy.

Disappointing. Cold potatoes (though good quality produce), cold “salsa” over barely warm savory crepe. The gluten-free crepe is weirdly cake-like. Not tasty at all… oh, and water flies. The search for decent crepes in Oakland/Berkeley continues.

I'm gluten and dairy free and this place was awesome!! Great atmosphere small and quaint. I had the banana bread and huevos rancheros. Went back twice more while in vacation. Will be back.

The gluten-free chocolate cake was incredibly tasty! I called in advance and was informed that they were initially sold out. However, they had more batter available and were able to bake some additional cakes within 30 minutes.

My boyfriend is gluten/dairy free and we came here based on good ratings from the Find Me GF app. While he couldn’t have the donuts, we were mainly after brunch and the tofu scrambles were delicious! He had the Pepples scramble with avocado, and I had the Pesto scramble. Both come served with hash browns and sourdough toast, so we just left out the toast for him. I usually don’t love tofu but this dish was absolutely delicious! We are from out of town but will definitely stop back here if we’re in the area again 😄

I'm gluten-intolerant, and usually have their tuna salad on gluten-free (GF) bread. Today I ordered their Fried Chicken Sandwich, specifying I wanted GF bread, but anticipating and ready to 'go gluten' on the chicken part. WOW, what a nice surprise when the owner told me they use chickpea flour to bread it ;-0. Not only did I not have to stray away from my GF diet, but it was sooo delicious - an elevated fried chicken, more like a 'tempura chicken' if you can imagine it. Thanks for a most satisfying meal.
