Always LOVE Sansho Sushi, and visit often. They are always busy with dine-in and take out orders, which tells you it’s a great spot. Never had to wait for a table though, and the staff are always friendly & attentive no matter the time or day. Excellent selection of boxes and special items. The highlight is the gluten free menu!! Super thankful for a sushi spot that offers so many gluten free options- including teriyaki!! I love their chicken teriyaki roll, V4 roll (vegetable) and spicy salmon roll. The miso soup is also Gf and delicious.
This was such an amazing experience! They were so willing with work with my celiac! They had so many gluten free options and the staff were so knowledgeable!! Definitely a repeat!!
Beautiful bakery with a lovely range of gluten-free options. I do wish there were alternatives for people who can’t tolerate xanthan gum, as it's in all their breads. When I mentioned my allergy, I felt a bit dismissed—which was disappointing. I’m sharing this so others with food sensitivities are aware, and in the hope that staff might take all allergies seriously, even the lesser-known ones.
That said, I admire the effort to provide gluten-free products and hope they might consider xanthan-free options in the future.
Great little Cafe in the middle of Deep Cove. Coffee is good, baked goods are really great - freshly made each day. Iris the manager made us a special Gluten free cake at our request a couple of years back - awesome. Staffed with young people from the local area which I also like. Don't forget to check out the patio/deck out back to get away from the busy main deep Cove Street, or sit out front and watch the people sound their thing.
Came during happy hour and got a seat on the outdoor rooftop area, great views of the city and water. While we waited (10 min) for our seat my husband was given a glass of complimentary bubbles. We had the burger, beer, frozen lemonade, and grilled chicken club (gluten free bun was great!). Our server Taylor was efficient and friendly!!
We had the pleasure of trying this new restaurant a few nights ago. I am coeliac and my kids are gluten intolerant. We placed an order for one piece, fish and chips to go. We of course, opted for the gluten-free, battered fish, and I was shocked to notice there wasn’t an added fee for gluten-free. I’m not sure if it was the manager or a staff member, but When I noted there wasn’t an extra fee, they looked at me and said you didn’t choose to be celiac. I honestly was blown away and instantly loved the place. As a celiac, I’m used to paying extra for gluten-free items so this was a nice surprise. They also exclaimed they have a dedicated gluten-free fryer, so the gluten-free fish and chips are coeliac safe. This time around, I only ordered for my two kids. They split a one piece fish and chips. They said it was the best they’ve ever had and the tartar sauce was amazing! I did taste the crust of the fish and honestly, I thought it was perfectly crispy and flavourful! I do want to add, when we arrived to pick up our order the, who I’m guessing was the manager at the time, hand delivered our order outside to us as I had my children and my dog. All around an amazing experience and will absolutely be back! I do have a side note because everything was so delicious. I am wondering if I can convince the chef or managers to add a deep fried tofu option for plant based eaters! I realize it is a seafood restaurant, but if there was, They would have coeliac plant based eaters flocking from afar!
I have celiac and this was by far one of my best restaurant experiences! The staff were very knowledgeable and even made sure to check that my drink was safe to have. The food was delicious as always. I’ve been to this location multiple times and I’ll definitely be back!
Although we were more recently at the Lynn Valley location (which was also great), we have had many good experiences at this location. A really big shoutout to Darcy (because even though he shared he is usually at the Upper Lonsdale location he was at the Lynn Valley location today). He was attentive and thoughtful regarding a gluten allergy and went a step beyond by providing the gluten free brownie dessert after a really lovely meal and shared how he knows it isn’t always easy to come across a nice gluten free dessert. It was such a wonderful and thoughtful detail that went a long way for us. These are moments that make a customer feel special and cared for - and unashamed despite dietary restrictions/allergies. I wish for everyone who is impacted by food allergies and restrictions to be treated with such kindness, respect, and in this case, additional generosity. Thank you, Darcy and Brown’s for a really wonderful experience.

The food and the service was fantastic. Most items are gluten free, and if you ask, the owner is very clear about which items are not gf or are fried with non gf items. Really great experience. I will definitely be back!
This was such an amazing experience for me and my daughter! The food was amazing and they were very knowledgable about celiac diet. It was incredible!!
I tried Captain’s Oven Pizza for the first time and went with their gluten-free pizza with vegan cheese. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect because gluten-free crusts can sometimes be dry or too chewy, but this one was actually really good. It had a nice texture crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and it didn’t fall apart like some gluten-free pizzas do.
The vegan cheese was a pleasant surprise too! It melted well and had a nice taste without that weird artificial flavor some dairy free cheeses have. The toppings were fresh, and they didn’t overload the pizza, so everything felt well-balanced instead of heavy.
Overall, I really enjoyed it! It’s not always easy to find a good gluten-free and dairy-free pizza, but Captain’s Oven Pizza did a great job and is my go to spot.

The Basque cheesecake at the Contrarian Bakery was simply amazing! We can’t wait to try the other variations especially the coconut one! An excellent dessert, and a true treat for Gluten Free folks.

We came here for a quick lunch as we knew the food was reliable. They didn’t disappoint as we all gobbled up our food after a day of moving. We ordered the seafood fettuccine, beef dip & avocado impossible burger. The avocado burger was a nice change & wouldn’t hesitate to order it again. With all burgers you can choose to have it wrapped in lettuce instead of the bun. There’s gluten free past too.
Service was decent considering they were busy & short staffed. Great experience!
I love how they made many flavours to be diet inclusive. I haven’t seen soooo many options as gluten free ice-cream ever.
Took 3 scoops, ended up quite full for the day and pretty satisfied.
Thank you for giving me precious memories.
Came here for brunch shortly after they opened at 10 am on a Saturday. Had their Tan Tan Ramen (non-spicy version). It was tasty! The gluten-free version comes with rice noodles instead of the regular homemade noodles. The butternut squash broth was tasty! It was definitely on the thinner, lighter side, and not as rich as your traditional ramen broth (which we expected). The kale and nut medley were good textural additions! They also sell a variety of plant-based treats at the front counter, and refrigerated and pantry items. I picked up a rice crispy treat to-go.
Staff bring you the food, but diners clear their own table. Friendly service and there is lots of street parking in the area! I came to use my Plant Curious coupon, but also knew of the café previously having purchased their mochi cake mix (by The Plant Based Workshop) at an event last year. I don't live in the area, but would recommend and would be happy to return again!
Great little corner coffee shop across from a park! Has a few tables inside Adirondack chairs out front to relax in. Good hot and cold cafe and tea lattes. Variety of savoury and sweet hand held food (including gluten-free options) to complete the snack or light meal. Helpful staff. Good neighborhood meeting spot!
A shopping trip to North Vancouver lead us to Buddha-Full for lunch. To fully check out the menu, I clicked the Order Now button, where there are more items, and I can check 'Nut allergy' or Gluten 'allergy', select all kinds of Add Ons, check boxes on the 'No List' and the Sub menu. They are Buddha by name only – while Buddhists don't eat garlic – some of the menu items here contain garlic 😟. I ordered the Wild Heart Bowl with the miso ginger sauce, substituting stewed lentils with tofu, my partner ordered the Grilled Please Panini. Both looked good. I found the tofu a bit too dry and hard. The sauce was good. The sandwich was very good and so was the sourdough. We also tried the chestnut latte, but the foam milk was underwhelming. Then, I discovered that the entire 2nd shelf of their sweet treats display is gluten free. These days, because I have so many allergies, I have to check all the ingredients before I try anything, and not being to see what the sweets are made of means I didn't feel safe enough to try anything. I did buy the GF Almond Energy Bar which my partner enjoyed. Most of their customers behave like regulars. If I live near this place, I would become a regular as well.
As a local I go here frequently, there are not a lot of choices in Deep Cove and for sure we are lucky to have Arms Reach. Although it's not as busy in the winter its enough to make the atmosphere what it needs to be for a rainy winter night - cosy. It's not the cheapest option but you know your going to have a quality dining experience and a good time, every time and that is worth the price. I do occasionally get a bit bored of the menu, but that is because I'm there quite a bit and have gluten sensitivity - and the specials do help out with some extra variety. For sure worth a visit, book in the summer or expect an hour plus wait, due to its place by the ocean in the heart of Deepcove.
I am on the search for restaurants that offer GF anything. (I am not celiac). I was pleasantly surprised to see they had GF buns on offer for the burger ($3 up charge). With this up charge my expectations were high. When the burger arrived it looked unusual with white spots on the top, shriveled and flat. All for research I thought give it shot… it was horrible the bun was freezer burned, the beef in the burger was dry and bland, no sauce! thank goodness for ketchup that I added!
I would say this was the worst burger ever! I let the waiter know it was horrible. His comment was I will let the “chef” know and then started to explain to me how buns get freezer burn! He missed one point it properly was at the bottom of the freezer for a VERY long time. If you can’t serve a good GF bun don’t offer it!
The burger for $25 not worth the price every with out the GF. As I ate the beef only. I should have complained more but I did not
A word to the chef/cook If it’s freezer burned don’t serve it!
We love the food here, and we come often. The menu isn't deep, but it's always tasty and as authentic as you will find in Canada. I did prefer their old chicken recipe to the current one. Gluten-free is available. The regular stools and tables are bit too low.
Food was great and had new menu Thai Curry dish which was amazing. But for a celiac, staff acknowledged with expertise and chef was able to “adjust” menu item. Impressed
In my opinion, this is one of the best restaurants in their class.
Great selection
Celiac friendly(which means less pre made or pre bought!)
Great service (will bake me fries!)
Great atmosphere
I always steer my friends here over their competitors

On my third visit, I can confidently say that their Americano is excellent, and I highly recommend their homemade gluten-free Chocolate Banana Loaf.
During our last visit, we enjoyed the Apple Spiced Cinnamon Loaf, along with a vegetarian egg and spinach sandwich. Overall, their pastries are delightful.
The staff was so friendly, service was quick. I have celiac disease and one of the owners came out to ensure my dietary restrictions were taken into account. She brought my food to me and confirmed all precautions were taken to avoid cross contamination. The pasta was the best pasta I have ever tasted, my husband couldn’t even taste that my pasta was gluten free.
Highly recommend Alberello!!
I’ve been to white spot many times in my life, but this experience was one of my favourites. We had a server named Gemma, she was fun and very sweet to my two sons. We recently discovered that one of my sons has a gluten allergy, and Gemma was very helpful in finding all the options for him, and reassuring she would let the kitchen know. Thank you for a wonderful Sunday brunch with my family.

One of my favourite pizza places. There used to be one in Vancouver close to my house, so we would go there a lot as a family. Although that location is closed now, we often stop at the North Van location when driving through.
Their pizza has flavourful sauce, and is the only thin crust pizza I have had without the crust getting oily/burnt. Delicious!
The reason I did not give five stars is because:
-The restaurant itself is small so there is not room inside for bigger groups, and also is not air conditioned.
-The gluten-free crusts are small as they are most likely pre-made.
However, everything else is great!
We have been ordering your sandwiches for some time now and LOVE them all. We have have tried every sandwich you offer at least 3 times over. Additionally, we love your potatoe salad and the gluten free snacks. I would love to see a new sandwich on the menu to try. Or maybe a new sandwich of the week to see what sticks. I think you guys nailed this business concept and would love to see more of your sandwich ingenuity down the road.

Never had such great service!!! We told them this is our first time and they gave us lots of samples. Sweet or savory, something for everyone. Even gluten free cones!!
Had a lovely first visit to this bakery where Rita was so helpful in showing us the various pastries available, telling us about the different ingredients, all organic with many sugar free and gluten free options. The pastries were delicious and we will certainly return!

Been here before and have been happy with their food and service. A bit pricier than other Sushi places but honestly not a problem. Gluten free options are available as well!
cozy fun atmosphere and absolutely delicious, quality food! the house made gluten free pasta is a wonderful option for gluten free folk. we especially love the pasta prosciutto e zucca (squash puree campanelle) and the flourless chocolate cake. the servers are all friendly and fun, and we always leave with smiles and full bellies!
We ordered Uber from Burgoo whilst visiting North Vancouver. The Beef Burgundy was delicious and comforting after days of travel. The meat was tender and served on mashed potatoes. Since I am gluten free, this was a nice option. We ordered the donuts for dessert and they weren’t my cup of tea….too salty!
Hands down some of the best gluten free pizza in the Metro Vancouver! Such a squishy, buttery, chewy crust that it's hard to believe it's gluten free. The brussel sprout pizza is uniquely delicious. Definitely worth the drive to Deep Cove.
This is the 3rd location I’ve been to that doesn’t offer gluten free. Why have it on the menu?! Such a waste of time to drive to these locations and be disappointed. Not impressed and will not be returning. This has happened several times now and as someone who is limited to gluten free options, I will be letting others know of this. Do better.

There’s a lot of sushi options in Vancouver but that doesn’t mean they’re all good.
This place was awesome. The rice was well seasoned, not overly sugary at all.
The fish was all fresh and delicious (had the wild sockeye salmon ) and mind you I hardly ever eat raw fish because many places are gross! Both the veggie and fish I had was perfectly made! They also offer gluten free soy sauce! Thanks guys!
Absolutely love this place. So many non dairy options for coffee and had a great almond milk latte. Super friendly staff! Also delicious baked goods and one of the best gluten free muffins I’ve ever had!

I dont know why the reviews are so low and I honestly don't care to read why! This place is amaaaazing! I have been several times and evertime I go I fall in love with the staff and the sweets. I personally am not a fan of sweets but when a craving hits this is my go to now.
I got the gluten free, vegan cupcake (and I'm niether) and it was honestly the best cupcake I have had. . Don't knock it till you try it, and I recommend trying it 🤤
So artful and delicious 😋 they have lots of gluten free options and gf tamari sauce. The service is almost too attentive — when you show up, 5 people behind the counter all turn and stare and offer you to sit down. The seating could be better, it’s a little squishy / intimate… but overall it’s my favourite sushi spot in north van!

It can be a little pricey and selection is small...but the staff is amazing and go out of their way to help you...I am a celiac and their selection is better than big stores ( most of celiac food just doesn't taste good sorry) it comes across as a cozy neighborhood plaza where you see friends and neighbors on the regular ..giving the good neighborhood feeling...but if you are on a budget I would not recommend..
We loved our dinner here. I had the salmon plate, which was Gluten free. It was cooked to perfection and the potatoes with the mustard sauce were absolutely divine. My husband had the Canadian AAA steak; mouthwatering!!
It was perfect for us that it was in the Bridge park, while it may have been more pricey for that reason, it was beyond convenient!
We came for lunch with 2 young children, and one of my boys is allergic to gluten. The staff was very friendly to let us know that they could tailor some dishes to gluten-free. Although it took a while for the dishes to be served, we really enjoyed the dishes. My boys ate lots. We also got a scoop of strawberry Gelato to go.The gelato for sure was the icing on the cake!
If we are around next time, definitely would like to try out other dishes.
*Excuse for the first photo, cause my kids can't wait to dig in.
Sophia was our server and she was amazing! Like a fairy that comes to your table and gives you everything you need (:
Food was great — not easy to find good gluten free pizza!
I like the lighting for the atmosphere. It’s a cozy and intimate spot
Will def visit again.
