This is a great spot to pick up groceries, snacks, or a quick meal. The store is filled with gluten free selections, Mediterranean flavors, and many varieties of treats/baked goods. I especially like the to go containers of hummus & veggies. There are many local microbrews in the cold case and bottles of wine. I was very impressed with the product selection and the customer service.
I had high hopes for Guard and Grace, but my experience was extremely disappointing. As someone with celiac disease, I made sure to note my dietary restriction in the reservation, yet the service completely failed to accommodate it.
From the start, things went wrong. Our drink orders took forever, and when the rest of my table finally got theirs, mine was missing. Then, my food arrived much later than everyone else’s, leaving me awkwardly waiting while they ate.
We were originally sat in one location and the were told to move—without any real explanation. Our new table location was terrible, and way too big for our group. The service was frustratingly inattentive. I had to repeatedly call for the waiter just to ask basic questions about gluten in the dishes, and even then, I didn’t feel confident in his knowledge. He barely took the time to walk us through the menu, which is especially important for someone with dietary restrictions.
To top it off, we were told the menu was family-style, yet we were later hit with a plate-splitting charge that was never communicated to us. Overall, the experience was frustrating, unaccommodating, and not worth the price. I won’t be coming back.
I ate at dish society in this place but theres tons of options from indian,Mediterranean to Mexican and burgers. Dish society is amazing, local and healthy. Gluten free and vegetarian options. Great spot
I recently visited Pappadeaux’s in downtown Houston with high expectations, especially given my dietary restrictions (gluten-free). As a seafood restaurant, I anticipated a variety of options, but was disappointed to find only a small menu available for gluten-free diners. I chose the trout with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach, while my wife ordered roasted oysters, as they didn’t have Oysters Rockefeller. I was surprised that a seafood place didn’t offer Oysters Rockefeller—it's such a classic dish.
The service, however, was outstanding. The management and our server went above and beyond to ensure my dietary needs were accommodated, and I truly appreciated their efforts.
Unfortunately, the food arrived lukewarm, which led to us sending it back for reheating. After traveling all the way from Alabama to try Pappadeaux’s, I felt let down by the overall experience. While the service was top-notch (a solid 10 for effort), the food didn’t meet expectations, so I’d rate it a 5 due to my dietary limitations.
Overall, I’d give the experience a 6. Would I return? I’m not sure.
Stuffed avocado was good. I would love to try the stuffed breakfast avocado! 🥑 Variety of pastries and treats that are gluten and dairy free. Aesthetically pleasing setup. Will return!
The owner was super nice. Great customer service, they explained the different sauces and how they could be used for the dish. The Magic idlis were very scrumptious and we'll seasoned and paired well with the more creamy sauce. The stuffed idlis were very delicious as well, with the curry inside I felt like I could eat them without sauce at all and the fact that both idlis were made with rice is fantastic! I started loving samosas because of whole foods but Flying Idlis took it to a whole new level. The Crepe was huge and we'll seasoned, honestly all the meals were huge and could have been eaten by themselves. The price point on these meals can not be beat in comparison to other offerings and the density of nutrition is astounding we were full for hours. They add an amazing Vegan and Gluten free option to the city that I have come to enjoy. 😀😋
We went during Houston’s restaurant week and wow I was blown away. The service was top tier to start off and the food was immaculate. I’d like to preface that I have a gluten and dairy intolerance and the server was kind enough to accommodate this. Mind you I hate to feel like I’m being difficult but he made me feel like it was no problem at all. He was so sweet and friendly.
I had the short ribs as the 1st course, 2nd course was the steak with green beans, and finished the meal with a limoncello gelato. This is probably the best steak I’ve ever had. Everything tasted so delicious and was cooked to perfection. This experience was definitely a memorable one.
Ate here every morning as part of my stay at the Hotel and honestly it might be the best part of my stay. Food was divine whether from the full buffet or ordered off the menu! Service was exemplary. They grow their own herbs on site and use local goods for eggs and such. They also have gluten free and vegan options which was a huge plus.
