TL;DR - Substantial drop in food quality and service. I can't imagine myself visiting this location again, and you shouldn't imagine yourself going here either.
Pizza Luce has always been a place I could rely on for great food and service, but my most recent visit was incredibly disappointing. During my visit I got a Breggfast pizza to eat there, and Gluten Free Bruscetta to go; both were entirely disappointing.
Pizza - I got the Breggfast pizza with their Buffa-Luce sauce... well, at least that's what I ordered. What I got was a pizza crust with some ingredients on it, but no sauce. When I mentioned it to the waiter, he told me it was there. I restated that in fact, no, it was not, and showed him the pizza, and he informed me that I was incorrect and it was there, and then just walked away without another word. So apparently as far as this waiter was concerned, I'm blind and have no taste buds.
Gluten Free Bruscetta - Oh, I'm sorry, did I say Bruscetta, I meant the cheapest, most terrible gluten free hamburger buns you can find. Pizza Luce's GF Bruscetta used to be, hands down, the best around. I believe they got the bread from a local bakery and perhaps they aren't around any longer, but if you can't find a good alternative, then just don't have any. If I had to guess, they just use Schar hamburger buns, though that feels like an insult to Shar. These were terrible; they tasted like cardboard and were soggy.
Pizza Luce was always a safe bet when I was in the area, for both Pizza and gluten free items, but this visit was a joke, and an expensive one at that.
This hole in the wall is an amazing find.
The entire menu is gluten-free. They offer several DF dishes as well.
You order as the counter, and then they bring it to your table. The service is really good and they provide carafe of water for the table. They are spot on with refills.
The only down side is the parking. It's all on street.
There is patio and indoor seating.
It's rare to find a restaurant that has more than one dish my wife can have with her dietary restrictions. Brim has several. It was great seeing her gitty looking at a menu.
Always the best food. Very large place with a beautiful patio. It is one of my favorite places to go. Everything is always good. Only took a photo of my item last night which was the shroom burger. Beautiful baguette and tasty cheeses to make it the perfect burger. Friends had a poke bowl, Salad and another burger.
My friend needed Gluten Free and they were helpful.
At the bar they also have THC drinks 🍹 One of my favorite places to get wings. Also one of my favorite appetizers is the Ahi Tuna Crisp.
Servers will help you makes choices if you have not been here. Friendly staff!
This is a great option in the North Loop.
This place is incredible, I wouldn’t even believe it wasn’t 100% gluten free if I didn’t know it already. The eggplant tostada was absolutely incredible! Everything here was perfect.
Food is always great and service is fantastic. We had vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free people in our group and the waitress knew all of the dishes and ingredients and was able to create plates that worked for everyone.
We came on a weekday for lunch and it wasn't crowded at all. The outdoor semi-covered patio in the back was super nice and the food was wonderful. Gluten friendly items are clearly marked on the menu, and there is cross contamination.
Buffalo cauliflower and vegan ranch was to die for! I also had the curry with cauliflower rice and chicken and it was super tasty.
Chimborazo continues to be one of my favorite go to restaurants in the cities! Their food is delicious, with unique flavors and just phenomenal Ecuadorian cuisine. I dream about the mahi mahi encocado and ceviche 🤤
I especially appreciate that they have so many options for someone who is gluten free and lots of good pescatarian options too!
Their service is always fast and they’re always incredibly kind!
Highly recommend.
Delicious all gluten and dairy free food. Fun environment. Went with four friends. We each ordered something from plant and game section with one of us ordering from the shareable section and we left satisfied. If you’re looking for standard American huge portions, not your place. If you’re looking for a place to try unique dishes and shareable with someone then yes!
Had a supreme experience at Brasa. Jacob took excellent care of us, including with my food allergies.
Labelled on their paper allergen menu are major allergens, gluten, garlic/onion/nightshades/cilantro, and even GMO-free.
With my egg and nut allergy, I had the vegetarian curry bowl (which is vegan, in fact) as well as rice and beans. Delicious! And on a quiet Monday, it only took about ten minutes to get the food.
Lovely outdoor patio and quick service are a wonderful combination! And we're still raving about how great host Jacob is.
Will be back!
Would not be writing this review had the email of the owner I was provided worked (get the feeling I was given the wrong email intentionally).
The Service and Quality of Food have declined SIGNIFICANTLY!
Will however point out the COMEDY - EXCEPTIONAL!!! A waitress told a customer: "Eggs have Gluten!" The grains fed to the chickens actually is broken down entirely and not present in the egg. I would have paid hundreds if not thousands to have a video of this interaction to be able to repost/share!
This place is great! Consistently delivers good service and food. Location and views are also amazing! Highly recommend the main street burger and fries. My favorite fries in the city (ask for a side of ranch). The Caesar is surprisingly good, and all the pizzas have been awesome! The gluten free nuggets are also a great choice. Aster may grab all the attention on St Anthony Main, but I think Hideaway is the real gem.
Definitely some of the best pho I’ve had in Minneapolis. I ordered the chicken pho last time and it was phenomenal. Their broth is top tier.
It can be hard to communicate needing a fork for us chopstick-challenged people, especially if it’s busy, but eventually you will get one. The food comes out pretty fast though!
Weekends can be super busy, but it’s mellow during the week at lunch time.
Another perk is it’s not very expensive, which is really nice. And MOST of their pho is gluten free, which is a need for me. 😊

Love love love this place! Amazingly good! The garlic cheese bread is the best ever! The pizza’s are soooo good! They did a wonderful job on the gluten free crust! The atmosphere is adorable and we had the best server ever!
First time at Billy’s and we definitely enjoyed ourselves!
Food was very good but it’s pretty spendy. The experience is lacking for me. With price that high I kinda expected the experience would match the price point. It’s loud and tables are pretty snug.
I am gluten free and would recommend the NOLO sushi roll.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating!
Overall we had a good time and would eat here again!
Dress- all over the place. I thought it was fancy but I felt over dressed.
Best breakfast I’ve EVER had. I got the Scromble of The Day. Tomatoes and Chimichurri *chefs kiss* I’m gluten free and the GF English muffins were great.. I got TWO with my breakfast. My dad got the breakfast burrito and he loved it! Super cool spot to check out in downtown Minneapolis.
I’m celiac and finding safe places to eat when I travel is hard. This place was amazing. At first I was skeptical but the young man that was my waiter was knowledgeable and the items are marked on the menu. Food was outstanding! His service was great. He was very kind and attentive.
This was my first visit to Capitol Grille and it was amazing! My friends and I went to celebrate my birthday and everything was great! Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable, answered all of our questions and let us know what was the gluten-free options for my friend who is gluten free. All of the food was super delicious and cooked to perfection, I would definitely recommend a trip to Capital Grille for a night out or to celebrate.
Very good place if you have allergies or dietary restrictions, they are a very clean and careful kitchen, and the one place that never makes me sick! Wish I could get larger gluten free pizzas for both cost reasons and so i could share or have left overs, especially since I like eating out with friends who also have celiacs!

We loved our pizza and good service here! My husband said it was the best gluten-free pizza crust he’s ever had. Yummy Boise pizza with potatoes and gruyère cheese.

Yummy, unusual pizzas, all available gluten-free. 😋 Great mocktails and real cocktails. Secret door is in the alley to get into the speakeasy. Super hip. Super cool. Fab vibes. 👌
Very GLUTEN-FREE/ DAIRY-FREE friendly! I visited September 7th after work and enjoyed the happy hour menu. Everything was as beautiful as it was scrumptious! I had sushi and the fried chicken and hot sake. I also ordered 1 serving of Uni. It was the perfect after-work treat! I highly recommend this gem. The server/bartender was very knowledgeable about the menu and a cheery, helpful attitude. I will 100% be back as often as I can. Nice portions, delicious sushi!
This is one of the best and most authentic pizza places I have been to. I loved the amount of variety they had for vegetarians and on top of that for vegan and gluten free options. Every single item on the pizza tasted very fresh and melted in the mouth. The server recommended us a local beer and it was amazing as well. Overall a great dining experience after our visit to the nearby Minnehaha Falls. Will surely visit again and wish they had more outlets outside MIneapolis.
We have been a patron of Boludo's since they opened the counter only service on Nicollet next to NightHawk's restaurant. Pizza and service were always excellent. We have also gone to the new location on 38th - service with Oscar was always wonderful - pizza and empanadas were great. In the past couple years, we've had not so great service and food experiences at the Uptown, Dinkytown and even on 38th when Oscar was no longer at that location - the orders were often incorrect, the pizzas were sometimes burnt and the service was not what it was so we hadn't been back in nearly 2 years. Tonight we decided to try the location on S 4th Street Downtown. There were 2 problems - We arrived a little after 8pm and were told by the person taking orders that we could only order take out despite the fact that they didn't close until 9pm and it was lovely outside on the patio. We said that was fine and placed our order. After we ordered and were waiting for our food, a gentleman came in, placed an order with a different counter person at the counter and was given a number to sit on the patio. We then watched the person at the counter take 2 salads and a tray of empanadas to the gentleman and his companion on the patio to eat there at the restaurant. Next, the same counter person took two pizzas outside to the patio to another lady, who had ordered just before us. So I approached her and asked why we were told we could only order takeout. She didn't have a good answer or explanation and told us we could sit on the patio if we wanted. I asked my partner if he wanted to sit outside and he said at this point he didn't want to stay - so I told her we would just take our food to go. The second issue was with our order. We got a small order tonight - just the De La Casa Salad and the Margarita Pizza with extra sauce - which I stated to the person taking our order 2x - once when I placed the order and then checked again when we paid. When we got home, the pizza had NO SAUCE and tons of Cheese! Getting our order wrong has also happened several times before at other locations. Even when we ate regularly at 38th Street, would go into the restaurant to place our order as it was often wrong if we placed online or in person. Had to toss tonight's pizza. We also started ordering the gluten free crust about 2 1/2 years ago, right before we stopped coming the 1st time. The initial gluten free crust tasted a lot like the empanada dough and wasn't very good. We were also anxious to see if the gluten free crust had improved - it looked like it had but we couldn't eat the pizza with no sauce.
We used to eat at Boludo's at least 2x a month when it opened until a couple years ago, but the poor service, inconsistency with the food and inability to get the orders correct are not worth the time or $$ - too many other places in town.
The gluten free options for this restaurant was the best part of the experience my boyfriend and I had. Although the food was decent, the staff were extremely loud, at some points rude to my boyfriend and I when ordering and asking questions, and also just not being respectful of guests in the restaurant.
Our entire dinner experience was excellent, but our favorite part of the meal was the potato cherros.
They had a gluten-free menu as well, which was extremely helpful for me.
We really enjoyed ourselves.
So so good! I celebrated my birthday here and had such a great experience. I’m gluten & dairy free and they were SO accommodating to my allergens and I felt super safe eating here - not to mention I could eat quite a few things off the menu which isn’t always the case. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly and the restaurant itself is stunning. Highly recommend!
A little bit of everything for everyone and a great labeled and specific Gluten Free Menu! I was able to get the grilled prawns, the GF bread (which for $22 and a few slices felt a little pricey, but the bread was great) and the pasta and could share fries with the table. Our server made sure to make note and when the food came out they made sure to say, gluten free pasta, so it was easy to rest assured my food was GF!
Bittersweet dinner at ie as it is closing! 😭 Tremendous food, great gluten free options, and super service. Hope the owner changes his mind... We will miss ie!
Before Curry in a Hurry, I loved going to Gandhi Mahal. When its location was lost in 2020, I was happy they set up this location and go as much as I can. It is my favorite "Indian" food restaurant. (The owners are Bangladeshi so it is technically more Bangladeshi fare). Indian food is usually good in regards to having great gluten free options and Curry in a Hurry is no different. In some ways I like the location and sitting outside during the summer to eat food. I typically eat their Chicken Tika Masala but I have eaten their Chicken Vindaloo. Beware though with the Chicken Vindaloo. I consider myself to have a very high tolerance for hot food, but that Chicken Vindaloo has to be the most punishing spicy food I have ever had in the Twin Cities.
