Ben and Naomi have put together easily one of the best cafes I've ever been to. I only visited twice while in Montreal, but I left feeling like I was a regular. The bread is amazing, the pastries are divine, and the classic Italian-style espresso is some of the best I've had outside of Europe. Whether or not you have Celiac, gluten sensitivity, any other allergies or none at all, I cannot recommend this little fallen piece of Elysium enough.
Best place in Montreal to eat Indian vegan and gluten free food !! Abhi was so friendly and so nice, and I spent such a good moment in Tula. This is a must try in Montreal and the best Indian food I ever tasted. Everything is very healthy, and spices are very well balanced. Thank you so much !!
So glad this place exists!
The food is phenomenal and everything is vegan. They also have many gluten free options that aren't marked on the menu (you can ask when you call or ask a waiter.tress on site).
This is what I ordered (picture); buckwheat crepe (gallett) with emmental cheese and sauteed apple to go. I'm gluten intolerant so all the crepe I try in Montreal is of buckwheat.
I've never seen galletts of this color before... it's a VERY dark gray and looked weird, and tasted weird too. I don't know what it is though, it tasted too intense and ...bad. Fillings were just cheese and cooked and sweetened apple, just nothing more than that.
For buckwheat crepes, Juliette & Chocolat does it better! I won't come back here for galletts.
We had the most magical time at Paparmane today. My husband and I went to celebrate my birthday. I made a reservation online and let them know at that time that I have celiac disease. The owner of the tearoom personally emailed me a few days later to follow up on my need for a gluten free menu which I thought was amazing.
When we walked in today I was thrilled with how whimsical the atmosphere was. The staff that met us at the door was very friendly and instantly asked us which member of our party had celiac disease. She reassured me the staff was very knowledgeable and trained in celiac awareness. This made me feel very comfortable.
Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. He took the time to explain the menus and how food allergies are easily accommodated.
Once the food arrived the presentation was beautiful and thoughtfully arranged. The taste was unbelievable! Having celiac disease finding gluten free food that tastes wonderful is very hard to come by. The food here made me incredibly happy with every bite. I savoured every morsel! I cannot express how delicious everything was. My husband had the vegetarian option and loved every bite as well.
I cannot say enough about how much we loved our experience here. I was also delighted that I was able to purchase some loose leaf tea to bring hone with me as well.
I cannot wait to return again to Paparmane for another beautiful and magical experience in the future!
Beautiful, open space, well-decorated, with electrical outlets everywhere, and plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options from local brands.
Well-maintained and clean, the food is good, and the service is excellent 🌞
The oat milk chai latte is delicious!
The food is good, but I asked for gluten-free, as I chose this restaurant because they advertised gluten-free. Seeing the digestion problems hi had, there was certainly gluten in there, even though they confirmed there would not be. Great place to go, but beware if you have gluten issues :( Also parking is not obvious around there, I recommend subway or uber.
It was alright. They need better ventilation. They draw cute drawing. A lot of cross contamination with gluten, but I was warned that. It's a business trying to keep float, but man the price with added tax is getting crazy and out of control. Wish they made rice bowl promo a little bit more obvious (it's 8.99 promo! Good deal in this economy).
Spectacular service. They were very aware of a gluten sensitivity, and were incredibly accommodating and careful.
Had the canard, escargot, and sea bass. Incredible food.
This place is a gem. I often go on my lunch break and order the 2 onigiri + soup. Today i stopped with my toddlers and husband. Even though they were about to close, they generously welcomed us in. We had a asian noodle and mushroom salad, a chicken kale gluten free salad, a tofu burger and a side of potato salad. It was all amazing, all of it. And the brownie was incredible. Now i’m mad because i will now be overwhelmed with great choices on my next visit. Try it.
Really good coffee, huge selection of specialty beans and gear, pet-friendly, and most of the time they have a GF cookie. They used to have a wider gluten free offering (I was the one who ran the GF bakery) but not anymore.
Lovely coffee place, very well decorated, peaceful. The food and coffees or teas are the best. You know what? We can actually talk here!! Yes ! No loud music, conversation friendly. The dream. It's open late, so we were having dinner at the Burgundy Lion but could not have a proper conversation, the music was too loud. We came to Eera café and were delighted with the place. The gluten free almond cookie is wow! I'll come back to this little peace of heaven for sure!
Wicked undercover burger joint. Friendly bloke offered us popcorn in the way in, served a nice truffle and mushroom beef burger.
Great gluten free option on smashed potato. Normally the gfree option is half the size, this was double the size
I can't believe it was my first time here! I always walk by but never go in.
My husband had a tyropita (phyllo cheese?). I have celiac so I had their kale apple salad with apple cinnamon dressing. Both were so good! Cute little place on Parc Ave and great to stop off for a quick snack if you're in the area.
Shout out to Joanna who remembered me and my kids from many, many years ago ☺️
This place impressed our group. The food is amazingly delicious, service very is quick. Portions are big. After having a meal, was no room for the dessert. The complimentary beverage was so yummy as well as all the other beverages. Their menu is quite big and covers all options including vegan and gluten free which was great for one of us. Overall, big thank you!
We were a party of seventeen. One with severe allergies, & two gluten free. The manager Rémi and servers were wonderful & could not have been more helpful. The food, service & ambiance were excellent. Everyone had a great evening. I highly recommend.
Finally tried this somewhat new local spot for a weekend brunch and we loved it. Sat at the bar, great service, cool retro vibes and yummy food. They were easy to adapt to my no- meat and gluten free diet. Will definitely be back.
A large room with a beautiful atmosphere.
The cocktails are DELICIOUS.
Authentic Mexican cuisine with a little twist.
Accommodates vegetarians and gluten-free.
It's my go-to place for ramen.
They offer 4 broth options, including vegan, gluten-free, and vegetarian options.
You can add one or more sides and extras 🍥
I like that they have vegan gluten free baked goods that can be taken to go in a paper bag so no plastic waste unlike other menu options they have. I got the tahini chocolate square and it was nice and original. I Could really taste the tahini. I’d come back to try the muffins. They also had lemon water you could help yourself to. The staff were cool and sweet
Edit: returned to try the banana chocolate muffin and it was really luxurious. Would come back to try the blueberry banana :)
If you go to Montreal don't forget to stop by the shopping center, there are restaurants, ice cream parlors, shops and much more to relax for a while or go shopping. Eggspectation is ideal for good food, a good atmosphere and some gluten-free dishes.
A friend from work suggested this spot for our recent visit to Montréal. It was extra appealing for their accommodations for dietary restrictions, since we’re traveling with someone who can’t have lactose or gluten.
We were initially seated at a high, very small table. When we asked to switch to a booth, we were accommodated as soon as it was possible. The waitress was very attentive and helpful.
Our friend was very happy with having “low gluten” options, which he is okay with. The options and transparency on the menu makes it perfect for the dietary restrictions.
The vegan poutine was good, as was the Eggplant-Ricalstta alla Cannelloni. My cauliflower wings were fantastic. (And we might just be traveling with someone who doesn’t appreciate poutine. We will forgive him).
Loved the drink options for cocktails and beers, ultimately went with the original cider which was perfect.
The dècor and atmosphere was great, nice lighting, cool posters, and live music was starting as we were leaving.
Very cool scene, good food and great service!
I’ve ordered from Omnivore a few times, and have always enjoyed the food. As a newly diagnosed celiac, finding good places to order from has become a priority, and Omnivore definitely fits the bill!
My most recent order (through Uber Eats) had an issue with selecting the gluten free salad option. On top of that, for whatever reason, I can no longer leave order notes. Sadly, this meant the food came covered in pita chips.
I called to let them know what happened so they could see if there’s anything on their end to fix for future orders. I wasn’t expecting anything to come of the call other than letting them know. I wish I had gotten the name of the person I spoke to, because I’d like to thank them by name. They were super understanding and offered to right my order immediately and send me a new plate.
Places like this, with staff this attentive are hard to come by and much appreciated!
