This place is sent me to the hospital! They say they are celiac safe with a separate cooking area - I got so sick I had to get wheelchairs to the hospital- and apparently I’m not the first place this restaurant has sent to the hospital for gluten cross contamination. Celiacs DO NOT EAT HERE! They say that they are aware of cross contamination and they are NOT SAFE.
Absolutely pumping on a Friday morning. Best option with the gluten free bread tasting excellent. We had shakshuka and the chill bae. Best breakfast in Uluwatu, paired with coffees either the home made almond milk which was fantastic. Would recommend. Great value for money as well, two coffees, juice and two breakfast for less than 40 AUD.
I was really excited to go to this cafe as it has been highly recommended but after showing one of the servers my gluten free celiac dining card in Indonesian they said that they don't have separate pans and prepare it all on a flat top grill so it isn't safe for people with celiac disease. I was so sad.
As someone who is on a gluten free diet, this place is PERFECT! They have gluten free sourdoughs and gluten free burger buns. Vegan friendly as well with their homemade almond milk. Food was AMAZING! The fries that came with my meal was hands down one of the best fried I've had. To top it off, their staff Nana was super nice and made sure everything was okay with our meal and experienxe. All in all will definitely come back ❤️
the place is really very pretty and pleasant to cut away a little from the hubbub of the city
the prices are a little higher than elsewhere but the quality of the food is worth it
the butter chicken was incredibly creamy and full of flavor
the juices are very good too
you can change to gluten-free options without problem
I liked the cookie a little less but it’s a question of taste :)
AMAZING!! So great for gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. We had a halloumi bowl, sweet potato wedges and chai lattes, everything was 10/10 delicious, service was lovely, setting is beautiful and shady out of the heat, and it was also reasonably priced. I highly recommend Shady Shack, it’s behind the main road but so worth going the extra few steps or jumping on a scooter to find 👏🏼 Thank you! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
!!!If you have an allergy do NOT come here!!!
They claim to be accommodating to allergies (especially gluten allergies) however this was far from our experience.
My wife ordered the gluten free toast and had made it very clear that she has specific allergies which they acknowledged and said it could be made safely. They brought the bread over and confirmed it was cassava flour, so she ate a couple of slices before the server came over in a panic saying it was normal sourdough! We asked them to clarify if it was definitely wrong and then a manager came over and said that it was actually the gluten free bread and they made a mistake. My food then came and the bread looked identical so we asked them to double check and this is when we found out that they had in fact given her the regular wheat sourdough.
They were apologising profusely however this was too late, and instead of taking ownership across the board, they decided to blame a new waitress which was really bad form.
If you have an allergy I would not trust this place to handle your food properly so definitely avoid.
I've been eating vegan for over 6 years and am a chef of clean, partly gluten-free and sugar-free dishes. I have already tried many restaurants around the world, but what PLANT BISTRO offers here is just WOW🙏🏼 GREAT and for me by far 1st place. Starting with the selected high quality of the ingredients, the careful preparation, the perfectly coordinated flavors, the timing , to the decorated plate with love, the wonderful staff and the top service, to the aesthetic ambience and interior design and the perfect spot with the most beautiful view of Ubud. I ate here twice in a row, I was so impressed with this restaurant. Absolute recommendation from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for your mission.
the portion is very big here, perfect for sharing. the smoothies are also very thick, you can taste the fruits. the desserts are also delicious, and all are gluten free.

I’m gluten free and ordered the red curry with chicken, it was delicious ! The staff are very friendly and the food came out very quickly. Would recommend 😊
I had lunch today here and it was incredibly good, the place is super beautiful with a lot of vegan options (the desserts are awesome) also gluten free and all natural ingredients! 100% would reccomend it!
Without doubt the best banana bread of my life! and also gluten-free! The pancakes are amazing too! Go and try this superb address! Thank you Matcha coffee!
Love this place! We found it on our second trip to Lembongan and ended up here multiple times. Super friendly, reasonable prices, and home made produce including gluten free bread, and probably the best shake I’ve ever had. They also do an outdoor movie night on Mondays 😁
A welcoming place to spend some time. Food is great, the staff is very kind and I love the open layout of the upstairs. A very relaxing and calm atmosphere. Great gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options. Thank you MOTHER!
Wooow what a gem in the heart of Ubud! A vegan paradise 🌱💖 the food was just delicious and we'll definitely come back again. Everyone was so friendly and kind.
They also have gluten free and options.
I'm vegan and my partner is gluten free we both enyojed every bite of our food.
Well done and keep on the great work.
went here the other day, had gluten free options on the menu which was nice. ordered the nasi goreng and pad Thai, unfortunately neither very tasty. the pad Thai noodles were chewy and hard. probably wouldn't head back!
Delicious create your own nasi campur. A mix of vegan, vegetarian and meat options which are clearly labelled including gluten free. Also have a small gelato bar! Good vibes - super busy and fairly priced!

Lovely and good atmosphere with jazz on Wednesdays and a relaxed feeling every day of the week. Also super nice staff with great service there, unlike many other restaurants in Kuta where the service was almost only directed at men. Here you feel welcome as both a woman and a man. Nice with a rose for every meal and books that you can read to while away hot summer days with a good cup of coffee or something else is and drinkable. Great place! Lots of Gluten-free options.
Thanks arte!

Enjoyed a delicious gluten free vegan pasta. I was searching for gluten free food for a while so I was very happy here at this beautiful location with a pool.
Really unhappy with this place. Uluwatu has some amazing gluten free, organic, no seed oils cafes but I could tell this one used cheap ingredients and was super deceiving. We ordered some truffle fries and we got fries that looked and tasted like they were from macas, frozen and deep fried even though on the big wall it says “nothing fried”. The starters we had were yummy but the fish curry was okay, the veggies tasted off and the fish was chewy and dry, the beef burger was nice but we have definitely had better.
The service was good.
Very good discovery in Bali. It is a restaurant that offers many varieties and alternatives for people with allergies. I was delighted to find alternatives to gluten. The food is really good and the atmosphere is nice.
A big thank you to Elsa for her warm and impeccable service ❤️

We came here for dinner last night and it was SO good! We loved how well they catered for dietaries, being Coeliac myself. The atmosphere was such a vibe - we will definitely be back!
Wow, we had such an amazing service experience and a decent breakfast. Adi and Dila really stood out with superior customer service creating such a heartfelt beautiful atmosphere. I felt like Adi could read my mind when he brought the toothpicks in the exact moment I needed them. :D
5 Stars and we will come back.
Only thing that you might consider is adding gluten-free bread as an option to the menu.
Gluten-free wraps are available on the brunch menu, though which is great!

The gluten free bread is so good I got genuinely worried (rest assured it’s all safe!!) ! The hummus appetiser and the tuna poke bowl were so good my family and I returned three days in a row. I’ve eaten a lot of hummus and tuna in my time and never have either reached that level of delightful.
Vegetarian restaurant in Ubud that offers beautiful views. The menu at The Elephant is completely vegetarian, with many options that can be adapted for vegans and gluten-free. One of the dishes that I like is Tom Yum Soup, their soup is rich, fresh, and perfect for enjoying in the cool air of Ubud.
The food used to be very good and I was happy with their gluten free options, but I've had two bad experiences already. The first one: the food took 3 hours to arrive, when the restaurant is 15 minutes from my house. And the second and most unpleasant one, my order tasted like VOMIT! and they didn't take responsibility when I complained. I won't risk a third bad experience :(
They were great with my son being a ceoliac. He could eat the french fries, grilled octopus, kids chicken wings, hommus with cucumber sticks, cheese cake and pavlova.
The menu is a mix of asian and south-east asian, with some of the most known dishes rivisited with the local ingredients. You can order a gin&tonic and pick your gin from an impressive collection (they even have a separate gin&tonic menu), out in display on the shelves behind the bar 🍸
Thumbs up to the staff, friendly and competent and well aware of food allergies (they seem to understand well gluten allergy). A minor thing: I just wish they left the plates and glasses on the table a couple of minutes after we finished, sometimes they came to pick them up and I was still chewing on my last bite 😄
Came here for brunch, ordered the eggs on gluten free bread, which they confirmed they did. I ate some of the meal but looked at my husbands bread and his was identical to mine. When we asked if it was gluten free they said they don’t do gluten free bread and it was multigrain. I couldn’t eat any more as I’m intolerant. They only took 10% off for my meal and said they actually don’t have gluten free bread. The coffee was really nice though and staff were friendly, just a shame. If you’re gluten intolerant they don’t do gluten free bread.
