We stopped for an aperitif made with artisanal Campari and an excellent tasting plate. Welcomed by the warmth of the place and the friendly staff, we then also ordered an excellent platter of cold cuts. The tavern is detail-oriented, inclusive and full of art. It is also possible to taste vegan and gluten-free dishes. Absolutely recommended!
85 euros for four first courses, a miserable appetizer and two desserts, it's really too much!
Really slow and uncoordinated service.
Linguine with artichokes overcooked and tasteless and also broken
Ravioli with ricotta and spinach covered in butter
Gluten-free bread brought to the table with a truly terrible flavor!
Dessert quite anonymous in flavor

Small place near the center of Perugia. Eat some delicious gluten-free savory and sweet crepes. Compliments to the guys who run it. We will gladly return
Restaurant-pizzeria in the heart of Todi with a wonderful panoramic terrace. We had tagliatelle and pizza with truffle, both gluten-free: truly exceptional. The desserts are artisanal, we tried a cheesecake with berries and it was delicious. Kind staff, attentive to the needs of the customer and helpful. Adequate price. Highly recommended place!
We went out for dinner with friends and opted for the black cat because it has many gluten-free options.
Generous portions, excellent value for money.
All accompanied by excellent service, Thank you Cristina for making this experience even more special :)
Restaurant in the heart of Perugia, the interior is in medieval style with stone walls. The food is typical traditional, tasty, also available in gluten free version. Kind and helpful staff. Recommended place!
Excellent food!! For me who am celiac it was a dream, and in the gluten free menu I also found vegan options, I didn't believe it! The place is very nice and allow me to give an honorable mention to Carmine and Alessio, who served us with precision and kindness. Highly recommended
I went on Saturday night for dinner with my family at the suggestion of a colleague. This pizzeria had been recommended to me in particular for the goodness of its gluten-free pizza (we have 2 celiacs in the family). In general, I must say that I was quite pleasantly surprised: small but nice place, good choice of dishes, commendable the fact that all the appetizers had a gluten-free option (I tried crocché, montanara and chips and I must say everything was good!). The dessert was also excellent (too bad they had run out of gluten-free lemon delights - but I will return hoping to find it) and definitely a special mention for the normal pizza because objectively one of the best Neapolitan ones that can be found at least in the province of Perugia... but the gluten-free pizza was really not good!.. it's a shame because from the photos they showed me and from the reviews of other celiacs who had been there, the pizza should have been really good.. instead it was objectively ugly to look at, very heavy, full of oil, with an extremely heavy cord and a strong tendency to crumble.. in short.. bad bad. Now, I imagine and hope that it was a coincidence, a change of recipe... I think I will return to give it a second chance.. but I ask the owners if objectively I interpreted correctly and there was a "failed" change of recipe, or if I have to give up because the recipe is that one and objectively it is not valid... a ready-made base is objectively much, much, much better...

I ate at Malandrino just today... actually I had been wanting to for a while but there had been no occasion. I was extremely satisfied. As a celiac I found a wide choice on the menu, from appetizers to dessert. A killer risotto...🥰❤️. We had lunch with an Australian friend who really appreciated the goodness of the dishes and the general atmosphere. Super kind service and customer care. In short... great Riccardo the extremely kind owner
We made a reservation 10 days ago. We were assigned a table outside under a canopy. There was bird droppings on the tablecloth, which were simply wiped away instead of being changed. After 30 minutes, the waiter (very nice) came and took our order. We had 3 rabbit ragouts with pasta (1 gluten-free). Unfortunately, there were bones everywhere in the ragout, in all 3 portions. The gluten-free plate was not labeled, but was brought separately. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant; they focus on quantity over quality (the pizzas from the neighboring table were all burnt).
Saying 5 stars is an understatement. Eaten like a true Gourmand.
Spectacular and super abundant lasagna.
Dragged to lick your lips.
For a Celiac like me who almost never find the first courses?
In this place you can choose any type of sauce and they make it gluten-free.
What can I say, a REALLY RECOMMENDED place
Well done, compliments
Place chosen for its attention to gluten-free (AIC certified). Really really good. Abundant cold cuts platter, very good omelette (which are actually scrambled eggs) with truffle, the first courses were 10 and praise (tagliatelle sg with truffle and tagliatelle sg with bacon and pecorino... It felt like being in Rome, very good)
Definitely worth a visit.
Applause to the waiter, who alone was able to manage the room for about 30 people. It wasn't easy, well done
High-level cuisine, kind and impeccable service. If we were to happen to be in the area again we will definitely stop by.
PS: Almost all dishes are also gluten-free.
Small and well-kept place near a small square with a panoramic view of all the hills.
Suitable for celiacs.
Highly recommended stratospheric carp (I would use a puree because it is very tasty)
Good, good risotto with perch and citrus fruits
I highly recommend!
They speak Polish as well as many other languages 💗
We came to this restaurant because it offers gluten-free menus. We were welcomed by the owner, a courteous, kind and slightly eccentric man who was totally contextualised in his restaurant. In fact, the environment is decidedly out of the ordinary, at times even a little claustrophobic, however it tells an experience, a story, there is character and the courage not to follow clichés. The pizza is actually not a pizza but a "Franciscan Schiacciata" I seem to remember it being called that and we liked it a lot. During dinner we wondered how the gentleman managed to manage all the tables totally alone, when we discovered that he also took care of the preparation of the "pizzas" we couldn't believe it! A phenomenon! For this reason alone he deserves all our respect.
I went with my wife and 3 children and we ate an excellent pizza!! Real Neapolitan pizza, excellent, quality ingredients. We are Neapolitans and I immediately noticed the use of our products!! Excellent Montanara with and without gluten like our grandparents made it in Naples!! The gluten-free pizzas with good and expensive CAPUTO flour are also excellent. If I ever pass by I'll be back! Well done, you deserve more than 4 stars, many more!!!
I had called to get clarification on gluten-free products, asking if the kitchens were separate and if they used deglutinated products.
They answered yes to the first question and that in the kitchen the flours used were naturally gluten-free.
When we arrived there, we found it written on the menu that the oven used for the pizzas was the same and that they did not guarantee non-contamination.
The lady who served us, with neither kind nor cordial manners, pointed out to us that for the gluten-free pasta it would take time because they had to prepare everything separately (really???).
We ordered a caprese and pointed out that it was for one of the two celiac people, the lady got annoyed saying that she knew that the tomato and mozzarella were gluten-free (and two, come on), in reality we were just making it clear to be careful not to touch the same hands that had served bread or pizza.
Almost embarrassing pizzas, only the bruschetta and the homemade (white) supplì were saved.
I wonder why make a gluten-free option when they don't even know what they're talking about but above all why not tell the truth on the phone.
Prices below average.
Nice place.
The place has that "something extra" that makes it special, could it be the many beers they have to offer? Will the gluten-free proposals they have? Will it be the guys in the room with their friendliness and friendliness? Will it be the excellent music selection? (perhaps this last one doesn't intrigue many)
The only way to find out is to give it a chance and try it
Very small gluten-free menu. Very slow and inconsistent service. The quality of the food was not excellent, one plate of pasta was overcooked, another was brought in a different format than the one requested without warning of the change, in addition to this it was flooded with oil.
The restaurant is not beautiful, the view is not the best, however here we found delicious homemade gluten-free ravioli, other very good dishes and above all a courtesy and kindness of the staff and the owner as you rarely meet. Definitely to return.
There were 4 of us on a Saturday night. Attentive and professional service. Refined and really good food. We will definitely be back. Special mention to the dining room staff, always kind and approachable. A real pleasure. We will definitely be back. My celiac girlfriend was able to eat everything including the first courses.
Very kind and helpful chef. Even though the kitchen was closed, he prepared lunch for us, even gluten-free.
EXCELLENT pork butcher pasta! Top service! Absolutely recommended
We went to this pizzeria and restaurant to eat a pizza and it was a pleasant surprise. The place is really nice, with tables outside and inside, the staff is friendly and the pizza was delicious. Quality of the ingredients, well seasoned, light for digestion thanks to a well-worked dough. A note of merit for the gluten-free pizza: the base is homemade! Very good.
I found this restaurant two years ago during a trip out of town to Perugia, I needed a gluten-free place given my celiac disease.
After two years back in Perugia, alone this time, I didn't think twice about returning to Il Moderno.
A particular and welcoming place, it looks like the living room of a house; books and wines everywhere...for those like me who have these two passions, rest assured that you will like it.
Good, helpful and attentive kitchen and dining room staff. In short, well done guys!
Menu with a limited choice, a huge plus point that makes you think of the use of excellent raw materials, in fact that's the case! The ingredients are excellent.
Prices like the ingredients, excellent too.
I highly recommend anyone who is undecided to opt for them, whether you are alone, as a couple or in a group. You will feel at home!
Pizza restaurant in the Fonti del Clitunno area with large internal and external spaces
We had a great time at both lunch and dinner, they made us feel at home.
Excellent grilled meat, top first courses with truffles
I also recommend the coratella and the chickpea humus with bruschettine.
Quality raw materials from the area
Welcoming staff, attentive to needs and friendly.
First courses also in gluten-free version
We will definitely be back
Informal and fantastic restaurant: trucker restaurant atmosphere, vast menu, super generous portions, very kind and approachable staff and prices that you would always like to see.
I would like to point out a very wide choice of gluten-free first courses, second courses, sandwiches and pizzas.
You can park right in front of the restaurant.
I would go back without a doubt.
Gluten Friendly Pasta can be made gluten-free
Steak is basically beef jerky ~ a bit hard
Mushroom 🍄pasta is delicious
Wild boar stew pasta without vegetables
Italian coffee works normally~❤️
If you want a gluten-free Roman pizza by the slice in Perugia this is the right place. Quality ingredients, friendly staff. Lactose-free mozzarella. Tables available inside. AIC informed place.
Exceptional place, delicious starters and Angus steak. A lot of attention to gluten-free and very good gluten-free hot oven. Very kind and patient staff. I will definitely go back!
We had dinner in this excellent restaurant two days ago. The food was really delicious and there is a large selection of different dishes. Many are also gluten-free upon request.
The service was good. The owner is very friendly and attentive.
It was a great experience. One of the best restaurants in Assisi.
The experience was positive for the quality of the food, so much so that we returned the next day. The place is nice, but the tables are too close together. The service focuses on quantity and speed, so it is not the ideal place for a relaxing dinner. Positive note: it is possible to request gluten-free bread and pasta.
Overall recommended but with caveats.
Positive aspects: tasty cuisine, very available with preparation for celiacs, strategic and panoramic position, decent general quality especially of the fresh or marinated fish from the lake as well as the black truffle. For some courses the value for money is actually honest. Helpful staff.
Negative aspects: especially for the fish, fresh and good, the prices and portions are in any case restaurant-style and not the rustic trattoria it appears to be.
Eel, for example, generally costs almost double the price at which it is found and was found everywhere especially until a few years ago, not considering that it has always been a poor dish and is not such a prized fish.
Despite dividing several courses and taking the house wine, the 4 of us spent a good 40 euros each......but we also left full.
It's just that in general there is always in the air that typical mold of "post covid era" speculation whereby you pay more and eat less when most salaries have actually decreased. This elitist turn will only make everything more and more unjustifiably prohibitive.
I admire places where they try to reduce increases with marketing that focuses on prices, quantity and competitive quality rather than on these increases and reductions in portions. But since it is characteristic and typical as well as well known in the area and the location is excellent and the food is typical and good, I recommend it. Obviously there are also alternatives by the lake, less comfortable but more scenic.
Suffice it to say from the outset that it is not exactly a rustic family-run trattoria with low prices and generous portions, as it appears and perhaps will have been in the past... assuming that they exist anymore (except in certain areas).... on the other hand, the first to bleed dry is the Italian state and then pay for other people's wars....
And almost all places rely on customers. This restaurant is still less than many others.
I hope I have been correct and exhaustive, everything must simply be compared with my very personal expectations....
Excellent value for money, very good cut, good and abundant potatoes, like the oil. Friendly and kind smiling waiters, fast service. The owner is really welcoming. Now we come often because it's a guarantee! They also have gluten-free bread
Friendliness and kindness are the ingredients of this place that offers refined dishes worthy of a starred restaurant. The Neapolitan pizza is truly excellent, well-leavened dough, cooked in a wood oven, rich and varied toppings with top-quality ingredients. Tasty, light and easily digestible. The desserts are sublime, the tiramisu is proposed and served in a truly original way. Gluten-free pizza is also available.❤️
We came on August 28th to see the sources of the Clitunno... and fortunately... we found this delicious restaurant (thanks to my wife) nearby... what can we say... we were welcomed by genuine people. Clean and comfortable restaurant with background music jazz music... accompanied by carefully prepared and excellent dishes on every course... and attentive and professional staff regarding the (gluten-free) diet. You can buy typical local products, especially their delicious "Oil". Which we purchased. Congratulations to the chef and staff.. We will definitely be back..
Went NYE, too slow the service, waited 1.5 hours and still no food … no care for my husbands coeliac requirements. Even given it was New Year’s Eve - very noisy.
Arrived yesterday in Passignano sul Trasimeno and took pizzas to take away. I was a bit perplexed about the gluten-free pizza because I didn't know the cooking method used and the possible contamination, instead the pizza was excellent! Friendly staff and place directly in front of the lake!
