Definitely be careful of cross contamination here. We were told there wasn't a dedicated fryer, so anything that when in there had gluten on it. However, the manager was understanding and made my chicken without any breading to make sure it was safe for me.
It is located within a large group of food carts. The food carts offer so many options, even vegan and gluten free available. Inside, they have a large seating area with tons of tables and plenty of chairs. Also, have axe throwing available too!

Service has been terrible the past couple years. Unfortunately this is the closest cafe yum to where I have lived for the past 20 years. I used to really love coming here but there was a very unfortunate turn in management around 2021. I can't remember the young gentleman's name but there used to be this really nice guy I think he was a manager he was Mexican younger man and had tattoos. He was an absolute sweetheart and always made sure that my food was actually gluten free/ celiac safe. I have celiacs disease and it's really hard to find somewhere where I can actually eat. I make most of my food at home but it's nice to be able to feel like a normal person and go out to eat every now and then. I have to make sure that whoever is preparing my food is aware of cross-contamination. This isn't a made-up illness this is my life and my health I don't want to be on the toilet or throwing up all day if someone doesn't take me seriously. After that gentleman left in 2021 the new management has been so rude not only that I have been sick several times from eating cafe yum even after requesting my celiac friendly prepared. As much as I have attempted the bowls myself at home I can never get them quite right. The new management is super rude and they are all related to each other either cousins or sisters. Lots of eye rolling and crap talking in Spanish. Here's the thing I'm actually bilingual Even though I'm white, So I know what you're saying. I know it's not easy to work in the service industry. I used to be a waitress myself for many years but please keep rude comments to yourself especially when it's something that somebody can't control like allergies. Be mindful of that next time you're talking shit about someone's allergies and health conditions and overall appearance. It's time to let go of eating at this location off of Millikan.
The staff is super friendly and courteous especially when it comes to me having celiac, but honestly the food is just. Subpar.
I got a buffalo wrap, and the Tejano tacos (on separate occasions). Both items were so so saucy it was impossible to eat, one bite and the contents shot out the other end. The flavor was there it was just impossible to eat it lmao.
Also the tacos were cold? I ate it in my truck in the parking lot, so it wasn’t because of that. Idk if that was intentional or not but it was really weird.
Probably won’t be returning, which is unfortunate because it’s a perfect location for me.
We were pleasantly impressed with Biscuits Cafe. We didn't know what to expect, as we were visiting Portland on vacation, but all of our food was delicious. The server was personable and responsive. The atmosphere was laid-back and attractive. I am gluten-free and the bread they used for my California Club Sandwich was great. They use real avocados instead of the pre-mushed stuff from a bag. I believe you will be happy you checked them out!
I ordered a vegetarian burger on a gluten free bun, with the works. It was the best gluten free vegetarian hamburger that I have had. It was delicious!
Hot dang! We stopped by here after getting a hankering for fish and chips. I can’t have gluten, but my spouse can. We ordered the haddock in GF and the halibut in the shop’s usual breading. Both were fried to perfection!
Mine needed a little salt, but that might be more to my taste. Yes, it’s a bit greasy… but it’s called the Frying Scotsman for a reason ;) so I think it was perfect. The fish was so good that I didn’t even finish my chips (and I LOVE potatoes!!). Will definitely visit again!
Their GF high tea is epic! One of the best I’ve ever had. I’m not sensitive to cross contamination but the staff was very knowledgeable about different dietary needs and the owner makes all the food herself so she’d be able to answer any questions well.
We usually love the gluten sensitive pancakes but today they were dry and tough. Our waitress said other customers have said the same thing but the manager says they haven’t changed anything. They did refund our money.
I drive by this non-descript restaurant a few times a week and never went in. I went over the weekend with friends who love it and it's easy to see why. I think the food and service is great, atmosphere is more of a bar. However, they do have an outdoor patio that looks nice and it is backed up to a green space which gives it a good vibe and makes it feel private. It had a smoked tritip sandwhich which was frankly excellent. I am gluten free, and they offered GF buns, which is great. GF bread tends to be smaller than normal bread, so you can sometimes feel shorted, but not here - they gave me two buns' worth of sandwiches. Very cool. I will definitely be going back.
Shopped and dined in the area forever, first time in tonight - and it was great! Excellent service, good beer, awesome food (menu was well marked for Vegan and Gluten Free options- of which there was plenty). Service was top notch, including the manager who checked in with us as we were finishing. Will 100% be back
We love this place! We have eaten here twice and I have not gotten sick. I have Celiac disease and they do gluten free right with no cross contamination. Delicious food and great service.
DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. They mess up my order 9/10 times, and this is no exaggeration. To the point that I have only ordered chicken strips for myself for the last year. But, they still mess that up; wrong sauces, wrong drink, missing pieces, missing drinks, etc. How the heck do you screw up chicken strips and fries?? The only reason I have been coming back here for the last year has been because they have gluten-free buns for my digestive intolerant child when we’re in a pinch for dinner and they are the only gluten-free fast food around our house. I dread having Burgerville as my only option. They only pay extra attention to my child’s order because it’s technically an allergy. However, “normal” orders are at the whim of the incompetent and staff and management as there are no repercussions for screwing them up. They just do not care at all. How hard is it to hire someone to check the orders before they go out the door?
We have normally taken out from here, and that’s unfortunate since we live ~25 minutes away. Pizza is still good enough to keep us coming back. We ate at the restaurant for the first time when we were closing out a long day, so experienced the pizza piping hot from the oven. As you might expect, this upped the flavor, texture, and everything else immensely.
Pizza crust is the right mix of crispy and chewy, the cupped pepperoni gets the right burnt edges, and they also have good gluten free crust for those needing that (it isn’t just an Udi’s crust that you find many places).
Would recommend joining their free club/text, as you get coupons frequently and the chance to win more.
Seating options are limited (not a big place), with us having chosen sitting at the picnic tables outside (it was one of the first warmer spring days in Portland!).
Completely messed up my order (I assume they stuck the receipt on the wrong one). This would be a bummer for most people, but I’m gluten and dairy free for medical reasons. I ate a slice before realizing it and am now just hoping the consequences aren’t too bad.
Great service, great menu, and huge portion sizes. There might be a wait for dinner on a Friday/Saturday, but it is well worth it! Gluten free options are marked on the menu.
We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon to pick up a gluten-free pizza. While we waited we sat out on the patio and enjoyed a cocktail and the weather. The staff, as always, is amazingly friendly and attentive, and the vibe is super chill.
Told the waitress our son has Celiac Disease and when his food arrived, there was an Oreo cookie on the plate. The waitress did not even understand the difference between corn or flour tortillas. They did nothing about it. When our food arrived, the server put our shared meal in front of my husband and did not bring shared plates as requested when we ordered. I went to move the plate and got a second degree burn, the server said nothing about it being a hot plate (I’m a former waitress). Manager came by and brought burn gel but that was it. I guess the positive was we got someone else’s birthday drink and the waitress walked away when we said it wasn’t ours minutes after they sang to a table next to us. Comically disappointing dinner out.
I don't eat gluten so I ordered a hot Pastrami bowl to go. Meat was definitely good. Rest of it was very underwhelming. Hardly any sauerkraut. Maybe i was missing special sauce or something idk.. I did see the breads were out of a bag, didn't appear to be made on site. Meat did not appear to be hand sliced. Pickles tasted old and a little rotten. Bowl was small, small portions for the price. I dont think the container for takeout is the appropriate size, it's too small so doesn't fit the right amount of toppings.
Would like to see a gluten free bread offering. I was not interested in the gluten free tortilla.
Attentive and kind wait staff. Knowledgeable about gluten free items and the most amazing, HOMEMADE, corn tortillas! The homemade flour tortillas looked amazing too!
A fantastic Indian food cart that has popped up in the area recently. Food quality and taste is absolutely amazing, with large portions offered for very reasonable pricing. My spouse and I had been bummed since our favorite local indian restaurant closed down a year or two ago, but this food truck has definitely come along and filled that void.
Owner was knowledgeable about gluten, and was able to confirm that the vast majority of the menu is gluten free. I personally haven't had any sort of reaction yet, so the food seems safe for those with gluten sensitive issues. Service is always pleasant as well, with us always having a positive experience ordering.
Overall Curry On is a great spot that's definitely going to become a staple for us, with very tasty and filling meals that don't break the wallet.
A nice Mexican place. Very attentive service and good food.
However, while they have vegan options, they are pretty well concealed, and missing entirely from one of their menus. The menu has a QR code saying they have vegan and gluten free options there, but it just points to the full menu with no way of finding those options.

Our family has visited this place 3 times and all times have gotten the same consistent great service, from the hostess to the waiters, and the same quality and tasty food. We’ve tried dishes such as the Calamari appetizer (not gluten free), Simply Grilled Seasonal Salmon (Gluten Free), Cajun Seared Fish Street Tacos, and Parmesan Crusted Sole. We had no complains on the dishes. They are delicious, consistently taste the same and offer the same quality every time. I also found the selection of non-alcoholic drinks such as the Blackberry Basil Lemonade a nice touch and a great option over the same old fountain sodas. We also thought the atmosphere was well thought out and conducive to conversation and a pleasant stay. In general this is a place we will visit again and I recommend you do too!
This is my 2nd time coming here. First time for brunch. The gluten free waffles are to die for! Service was fabulous. Everyone is so friendly & also loved the quick response to my Facebook question asking if they had gluten free options.
Delicious sandwiches made with love. Great food that warms your soul!
They even offer gluten free bread and vegan cheese for those with intolerances. (Pictured is the Cubano with vegan cheese on gf bread).
This is THE place, especially for my gluten-free friends. When we first arrived for the lunch buffet, I asked the server which items were gluten free and he dropped everything to give me careful instruction on what was and wasn’t safe on the buffet line. I had lots to choose from, even cancelling out dairy as well. The food was SO good (especially the dal). Then, the server surprised me with a specially-made doosa (think rice batter crepe). I haven’t had anything like that in years. 10/10!

I called ahead to make sure they had gluten free bread. They said they had it in stock in 6 inch loaves only.
When I arrived they had no idea what I was talking about, and kept trying to make my sandwich on some low carb bread, which was not gluten free.
I asked several times to confirm that this was gluten free bread and they kept ignoring my questions, trying to move me along.
Mind you, I have severe allergies and cannot eat normal bread.
I underatand that the employees are not responsible for keeping certain things in stock, but I do not appreciate serious questions being dismissed. That shandwich would have killed me.
I ended up leaving.
A gem in the midst of an ordinary strip mall. You enter a warm modern wood interior, bustling but not noisy at dinner time. Service is attentive and knowledgeable, and the food is quite good, with many gluten-friendly options. I sampled a few appetizers, and had the beet and apple salad, followed by the Brick Oven Chicken, a large breast accompanied by cooked pears and stuffed with meat, cheese and other things. The most memorable fish were the polenta fries, which I found to be addictive!
