Amazing gluten free options! And not just a bun substitute or fries - (although the fries were pretty tasty- bonus that they have a dedicated gluten free fryer!) I tried the gluten free fish and chips as well as the fried calamari and was pleasantly surprised at how tasty the batter was. The tartar sauce was delicious- not sweet, very tangy which I love! And the calamari was cooked perfectly- delicate texture and not a single piece was rubbery! The fish was crispy on the outside and wonderfully flaky on the inside. Will definitely be back to try their gluten free fried chicken sandwich next!!!
This has now become one of my favorite sushi places. Their food is a work of art. Seriously. Art that you get to fully enjoy. Their whole menu (minus one item) is gluten free. That's right. You can enjoy tempura! I teared up a bit about this. It's been almost 13 years since I have had tempura and this place did not disappoint! Their beverages are delicious and beautifully made. Their rolls are flavorful and filling. Their atmosphere is modern and simple, allowing you to focus on the food/art in front of you. Our server was top notch, friendly and knowledgeable. Parking can be difficult because it's the U Village, and it's totally worth it. Fresh, tasty, amazing and absolutely worth it.
Heads up for folks with celiac/gluten allergies: this restaurant wasn't accommodating. Despite giving the restaurant a heads up with the reservation and asked the server for suggestions, I was only given a couple of options. The server mentioned they'd have to ask to see if the chef was in the mood to accommodate cross-contamination that night (they weren't). The food was good, but for the price, this place just isn't worth it.
I would have rather they called and let me know a head of time that they wouldn't accommodate and we would've made plans elsewhere.
It’s kind of wild how busy this place gets, especially since the sushi was pretty subpar. The real perk is the clearly labeled gluten-free menu—huge win—and the happy hour prices make it more appealing.
But let’s talk about the service. Hawaiian shirt and mustache man—yes, you—our waiter. You quite literally stopped serving tables mid-shift to hang out and laugh behind the bar with your friends. We could see you. It wasn’t slammed. You just… opted out. Our food was delivered by kitchen staff, we never got drink refills, and after our plates were cleared (thanks to the ever-diligent dish crew), we sat for another 30 minutes before finally flagging someone down to pay. As we were walking out, you cheerfully waved from behind the bar with a “Have a great day, y’all!” So… you did remember us?
Despite the laughably bad service, the gluten-free options and happy hour prices might bring me back—but next time, I’ll cross my fingers for a different server.
All day and every day yes. I told myself I was going to be adventurous and not order their signature paella, but I ordered the paella 😀 The flavors and seafood was cooked to perfection, and I had enough to bring some home as well. I only wish that I had that char rice/ socarrat though there was like a little of it around the top of the paella pan. The wait staff was so attentive and recommended a delicious red (since I asked for red and enjoying their sangria) to go with the paella, so when she said it also tasted good with the gluten free cake I had to say yes. She spoke to me of her dreams of getting her sommelier certification- which I think she's already there!!
The food was very good. Plenty of veggie and gluten free options as well as meat. We tried dolmas, salad, veggie and lamb burgers and harrisa vegetables. They were all pretty good and tasty although I would like a bit more spice or taste on the dolmas. The service was pretty good too. Nice casual place with reasonable pricing. I did not like that there were open messy boxes inside the restaurant. The washroom cleanliness could also improve. Overall, this is a place we liked and recommend and would like to go back to.
Had a wonderful meal here while in Seattle for business. Needed to take clients somewhere nice but also safe for me to eat with Celiac.
Menu was clearly marked Gluten Free and both hostess and wait staff made extra notes that I had celiac.
There is a decent amount of gluten free options to enjoy and not be left feeling like there’s only one or two things on the menu you can order.
Had zero issues after eating and 12 hours later still feeling good.
Atmosphere was awesome, oysters were fresh and amazing and the Scallops and Prawns were flavorful and delicious.
Great meal and great night out.
I was in Seattle for a conference and came to Tidal twice because it was so good.
The oysters, fish and chips, cocktails, and even desserts were phenomenal. Clearly, because I had to come back for their weekend breakfast (not pictured because I ate it so quickly).
A special thank you to Veasita, George, and Manty (I apologize if I misspelled names). They were so helpful, personable, and charming. Next time I am in Seattle I will be back for happy hour! I only wish I didn’t leave before the shuck and sip class, I would have been the first to sign up.
Note: AMAZING gluten free options here!
This was a great find for us. The drinks were perfectly made. The food was exceptional. The best part was the service. We had 1 person in our group who was Gluten-free/Siliac. The chef and manager both came out to make sure they fully understood his diet and needs. They must have nailed it. He wasn't in pain before we left the restaurant or during the remainder of our evening. How many restaurants can say they care that much to make sure they get you and your health 100%?
Very impressive!! I would highly recommend them for this very reason.
Our server Felix was exceptional. When the chef made an error on our gluten free meal he made sure it was corrected and comped us dessert. Loved the stunning lake and city views and northwest aesthetic.
I have a lot of random and severe food restrictions (nightshades, gluten, and pork), so finding a place that is so conscientious and accommodating is a godsend! I was able to get clear information on ingredients and was even cautioned when I chose something I couldn't eat. It was pure heaven to be able to have so many options available to me! The staff was very helpful and friendly. The venue was spotless. All staff wore masks! And, the food was incredibly delicious! My only criticism is that the raw ahi tuna tasted watery and lacked in flavor. Otherwise, I was in heaven. I absolutely recommend this place!
Of all the places I ate on my 10 day vacation, this was, by far and wide, the best food and atmosphere experience. The server was very knowledgeable about allergies and made sure my Celiac self did not get glutened. I will gladly go back the next time I'm in Seattle.
Dawn is the most caring, attentive server that I have ever had! She had AMAZING drink and food recommendations. My friend can’t have gluten and she double checked everything with the chef and owner in such a caring way that didn’t make us feel like a burden. Every single business needs Dawn. The owner is also incredible and talked to us. Highly recommend the fish and chips and seeing Dawn!
If you have Celiac and have to order GF, avoid the manhattan chowder. It’s essentially tomato soup with almost no clams with very little flavor. My family enjoyed the NE clam chowder.
Obviously high quality ingredients, really balanced flavors and textures with excellent cooking techniques that really complement and showcase the ingredients. It was so delicious, we wanted nothing else while we stayed in town. Lots of gluten free options and detailed descriptions provided so you know what is in it and what delicious ways it was cooked.
We went here twice during our weekend visit in Seattle because it was such a wonderful experience. The food was incredible and the service was amazing. Both nights the servers were very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Both of us needing gluten free options, we were easily able to find something that worked for us.
The seasonal watermelon salad was so delicious and the presentation of everything was just beautiful. Highly recommend this place!
This is my 4th time here, they just rotated their menu. All the food we had was delicious. I especially loved the mussels! I normally don’t eat mussels but their mussels are fresh and flavorful. Our group had people that are vegan, gluten free, and dairy free, they were able to accommodate all of us.
So glad we picked here to eat. Plenty of gluten free options. Delicious seafood. Great view!

We had a fantastic meal at The Walrus and the Carpenter, ordering just about every dish that could be made gluten free, as well as three of each of the six oysters on the menu plus one special. Everything was very good, and some were fantastic, especially the scallops of which we ordered a second dish. Ambiance was great, service was lovely. An unexpected pleasure was a remarkably good Negroni mocktail (also reordered). The dishes were quite a bit smaller than I expected. I wish they would take reservations because the having to wait for ages annoyance is the main thing that would put be off from returning.
It was a fantastic evening! I DID NOT GET GLUTENED! I ordered something gluten-free and let them know I had an allergy. They took extra care in ensuring there was no cross-contamination. We will definitely be back.
I have a gluten allergy and there were two options available. I got the Manhattan clam chowder. Flavor was great, came out piping hot and I didn’t get sick afterwards.
If you’re looking for an INCREDIBLE seafood spot near Pikes, look no further. Growing up in New England I know my crab and lobster so at first I was skeptical this was a tourist trap. How wrong I was!! Everything from the ambiance, to the sevice, to the food is exceptional. The clam chowder was top notch in a fresh bread bowl and the crab roll is to die for! Filled with crab, lightly seasoned, and hefty portions. This meal knocked it out of the park for both my husband and I. And the entire staff was so friendly and attentive and it was overall a 10/10 experience and will definitely come again! Ooh and gluten free options avail too!! Huzzah!
The salmon salad was good, although they didn't pack utensils, so I was stuck eating salad with my fingers at a park. Would have liked more gluten free options.
ALERT! Very few gluten free options! For a restaurant that has fresh fish in the showcase, they weren’t even able to make me gluten free fish and chips! So I opted for the fish tacos and discovered, when they were served, that they were covered in seasonings! For someone with allergies, I can’t take the risk of what might be in the seasoning. Most of the people who worked there were very rude (except for the waitress). Will Not Ever eat there again!
(You might want to update your restaurant and have several gluten free options for your customers! And make effort to be nice to your customers!!!)
I have Celiac disease and they rolled out the red carpet treatment for mecwhen I shared this. They offer gluten free buns, they changed their gloves and used fresh spatulas to add butter . Love this place!!!
