TLDR: This place is unsafe if you have food allergies or health issues that are affected by food. When we pointed out what had happened, they were apathetic. Only our waitress seemed sorry, but not enough to adjust the bill without being asked.
I had a meal here with a friend during DragonCon. I ordered two items plainly marked as “GF” on the sushi menu. One, specifically the Rainbow Roll, said it contained crab meat. Excellent, I thought. Only after I started eating did I realize it contained crab sticks. Firstly, crab sticks are not crab. They are usually made of whitefish, eggs, wheat, and spices/flavorings. A particular brand now makes gluten-free crab sticks, but those contain potato starch, which I also can’t eat.
I asked two servers to clarify with the chef. The second eventually returned and said she was very sorry, but that roll wasn’t gluten-free. I took the last bite of the roll that I knew was gluten-free and started to mentally prepare myself for the physical pain and discomfort that would ensue. After my friend finished her meal, we asked for our bill, and when we got it, both rolls I had ordered were still on the bill. They had completely disregarded the fact that they had just poisoned me with gluten. If your restaurant mislabels food that will make someone sick, at the very least you shouldn’t charge them for that item. If you want to practice good customer service, their meal should be on the house, accompanied by a GIANT apology from management.
I was flabbergasted, and at that point, I said I didn’t want to pay for my meal. The server returned shortly with the items removed, and I said I’d like to speak with management to explain the importance of getting this right. At the very least, they should immediately start telling people that the Rainbow Roll is not gluten-free. The manager returned, apparently thinking we were trying to get out of paying for our whole meal. He yelled at us. He also said they had been serving this roll as gluten-free for 20 years with no problem. 20 YEARS. We tried to explain why we wanted to talk to him, but he was so agitated that my friend had to force him to take the billfold with her credit card. We never got to have our one-on-one teachable moment with him, so unfortunately, he gets to have it here where everyone can read it.
People are gluten-free for many reasons—some out of preference, but most of us have severe health issues. People with Celiac Disease are more likely to develop colon cancer the more gluten they consume over their lifetime, knowingly or not, even if it doesn’t make them physically ill at the time. CANCER. I have chronic pain. I will spend the next week or two in extra, all-day pain and discomfort because of those two bites of crab stick.
There’s a social contract between restaurants and their diners. They broke the contract. Do not eat here.
Flying out of ATL weekly has given me the time to figure out the places I like to eat and the others I stay away from. One Flew South was always my go to for food because the food is quite good, from the sushi to the smash burger with fries. Unfortunately, the last two visits were miserably with service. From the host being rude because I didnt want to sit at the bar and then seating two groups that walked up after me, to the server rolling his eyes at me because I asked if something was gluten free and then couldnt have the courtesy to say anything after I said thank you and that I hoped he had a good night. I ask for very little because I have both worked in the restaurant industry and currently train people on customer service/experience.
Even though the food is good, I dont plan to go there again due to service alone. Hopefully management can work with their staff to create a better experience for future guests.
I’m not one to leave poor reviews, but we had the worst experience here tonight. I made reservations here for a party of 10 for my friend’s birthday because I had called ahead to ensure they could accommodate my food allergies. I notified our server who checked with the manager to see what could be made gluten, dairy, and egg free. I ordered the miso salmon and after it was brought to me, I noticed it had a glaze drizzled over top that looked questionable if I could eat or not due to my food allergies. I waved our server over and asked her and she said I noted your food allergies so it should be fine but I can double check with the kitchen if you want. She then came out and told me it was unsafe for me to eat and took it away and said they could remake it. I declined because at this point, I did not trust the kitchen to safely prepare a meal for me. Other people in our group ordered the ribs and steak, both of which were very dried out and difficult to even cut.
The server also failed to mention they charge a 3% fee when paying with a credit card. She just brought the card reader to the table and started taking cards to pay bills. Also, we were automatically charged 20% gratuity due to our party size despite poor service, me not being able to eat, and not even having our waters refilled.
The most bizarre thing was that when the server came back to our table towards the end, she said “sometimes you tell the kitchen things they don’t want to hear”. Not sure if this was in regard to my food allergies or what.
Highly recommend staying away from this establishment if you have any food allergies or if you enjoy good food. Not safe one bit.
Love this spot for gluten-free sushi! They have an entire separate gluten-free menu with a wide variety of options. They even brought a side of gluten-free soy sauce for my sushi.Their cocktails and gluten-free dessert roll cake were delicious too!
Nice little sushi spot, a little overpriced but good quality. Pictured is a rainbow roll and build your own veggie roll, after tip it was about $50. They have gluten free soy if you ask for 50 cents.
Summer G was EPIC. We changed our orders 173 times and she graciously allowed numerous substitutions. She also assisted our group with gluten free orders.
I eat here with family and friends all the time and everything from sushi to hibachi to appetizers that we've tried is delicious! The sweetest folks take care of us.
I did a catering order this week for a group of 25 and it was perfect! So much yummy food, good variety, and just the best communication experience. Plus they took great care of my gluten-free folks with a dedicated dish! 100% doing this again with our next big group.
Ok. So I have lived and traveled a lot of places and this place tasted so good! Our server was a bit stretched, so we had to enlist in others for help but everyone was happy and friendly and ready to help.
The most amazing and awesome thing about this place? I have a rare condition where I get sick if sea food (among other foods) are old and I felt no allergic/sick feelings at all, which means the fish is very fresh. We are very happy we live a couple minutes away, we will be back multiple times I’m sure. Oh! And they had gluten free soy sauce! Yay!
Come here to eat quite a bit and their food is good most of the time. Something really stellar is that they can accommodate food allergies (limited options of course) but still. It’s nice there is some effort and they even have gluten-free soy sauce!
Enjoyable. Really attentive server, considerate of my wife's gluten allergy. Booths are way too tiny for a person of size. Opt for a table. Sushi was good. Oh, if you use the gf menu and order salmon bok choy, ask for rice bc it doesn't come with it. Recommended.
This French Vietnamese restaurant is absolutely beautiful! The themed decor and multiple seating area gave the restaurant a lot of character. Our waitress was very attentive and I loved her personality! They were very helpful with assisting me in finding food that met my food allergy and dietary restrictions (dairy free and gluten free). I started off with a mocktail (Le Colonial Cinnamon Ginger)
and it was so refreshing and light. For my entree I ordered Cari Ga - Chicken Curry
This curry was spicy, sweet and filled with so much flavor! This restaurant is a gem and great for a night out in the city!
Great place for sushi or hibachi. Staff is friendly and helpful! Restaurant has Rock n roll decor and loud Rock music which adds to their theme.
Their ginger dressing is different but very tasty! Great portions and many unique rolls to choose.
Not a gluten or soy free friendly menu.

I always love coming here!
The sushi is always good. I typically get the Gluten Free Trust Me roll. (Sometimes it's worth the cost, sometimes they could do a little better on it, but it's always good.)
A few times back, I got a splinter in my lip from the chopsticks. I did not enjoy that, but it's the price you pay for wooden chopsticks. (Perhaps they could get the kind that don't break apart?) If this ever happens, tape works really well to get it out!
My kids LOVE the edamame and vegetable roll.
We also love the drinks here. The bartender is really good and if you're not sure what you want, let them know what you're in the mood for and they can make it! (I always give them a price point for my drink though.)
I’m not a big sushi person, but man do we enjoy this place! They are always very friendly and the sushi is an affordable price. They also have gluten free soy sauce and the sushi chef was knowledgeable about gluten when we asked for it, mentioning that one of our rolls came with crunch and asking if we wanted it without. We’ve been back multiple times and I definitely recommend it for affordable sushi, especially if needing gluten free!
Good quality with a clean flavor. A bit on the pricey side but not bad for a date night. We are regular and come here at least once a month and they are very accommodating to us as we usually have to modify because of a gluten allergy. The sushi portions are decent and usually takes 4 rolls to satisfy the 2 of us. Their house hot sake is good and on the cheaper side. The Casanova is our favorite roll.
A great place for sushi, especially if you are gluten free! They have a well-labeled menu for allergens, GF soy sauce, GF imitation crab, even and washed the cutting board without me asking! I asked for my sushi without sprinkles just to be cautious. Would definitely recommend!
Everything was amazing. The food was top notch and the service was impeccable. Our group was gluten-free and they bent over backwards to accommodate us and make sure that every sushi option was gluten free for us to enjoy. At the end of the evening, they even gave us complimentary honey and ginger soup. This restaurant is amazing and I recommend it to anyone looking for a sushi place.
Lang was wonderful! As someone with celiac’s it can be super hard for me to eat out, but she was very friendly and understanding, and helped me find some things on the menu that I could eat! Will be back to see her for sure.
Love this place! Great food and very extensive menu with options for gluten free and other dietary restrictions. My personal favorite is the teriyaki shrimp/salmon dinner, comes with a lot of food for a great price! The ambience is so welcoming and fun, and the whole restaurant is decorated so well. I always get the boba every time I come, and my favs are either the taro milk tea with boba or mango-raspberry fruity tea with rainbow boba (literally the best boba i’ve ever had).
This review was written the first week the restaurant was open: This gem has not even had their grand opening yet and they were packed on a Saturday night. We sat at the bar and had a great view of everything. We tried the Kamikaze roll, (their wasabi is hand made so it does not over power your sushi - yum!) several Robata grilled meats, and also split the HopSteak. Everything was presented beautifully and was very tasty. The owner, Andy Tan is a master brewer, and none of his beers were ready to serve yet, and he gave my husband and me a tour of the brewery in the back. The have a room for private parties that you can reserve, plus they will have outside seating when the weather warms up a bit. this is definitely a place to not miss!
Update: If you love beer, this is definitely worth a check out! We have been several times since and everyone we have been with really loves the food and beer and cocktail choices. I love the Bulevar cocktail which is tequila, rose aperitif, vermouth! They also updated their menu to show GF (gluten free) options!!! Many of these photos show the beer tanks in the back of the restaurant (we received a tour from the owner).
